Now our programmer is in the final phase of version 2 with fractional and offchain tipping. With this bot we can transfer down to 0.00000001 NXT!!!!

Hm, isn't this confusing, because you cannot use fractional NXT right now on the chain?
Well, I have no knowledge about tipbots...

Yes, that is true for now. But look at it that way, if 50 guys tip you now 0.1 NXT then you can withdraw all full NXTs from that tipping.

Also we will have fractional withdrawals very soon!(hope so, gogog JL)

So guys. It is now about ~2 weeks that i started to rant about the reddit-tip-bot. Some days ago we got version 1 with On-chain tipping.

Now our programmer is in the final phase of version 2 with fractional and offchain tipping. With this bot we can transfer down to 0.00000001 NXT!!!!
Just take a quick peek Wink

Edit: there are some minor bugs in the verified posts, but other than that it seems flawlessly working.

Most of the comments in this thread are missing one key issue... mining difficulty.

Sure, BTC has gone up and down in the past and was near $100 USD/BTC for most of 2013, but for most of 2013 you could mine profitably at $100/BTC.  If BTC drops down to $100 USD/BTC, it will kill Bitcoin because no one will mine and there is no sufficient adoption sans mining.  Even if difficulty drops, difficulty will still be an order of magnitude above what it was in 2013 because of the improvement in ASIC's.

you have no understanding of economics whatsoever.

Guess what happens if a bunch of miners become unprofitable? The difficulty declines. And then? Well some become profitable again. Ect ect.

With our asset exchange would it be possible to issue an asset like a "buck". Where for each buck, the issure holds 1 USD. I know that a fiat gateway has some very serious limitations, but if the issuer only holds USD (and someone even verifies that) and it is not really possible to redeem those "bucks", then this would be a nice way of introducing a shorting instrument. The price of 1 buck would be always near 1 real dollar because of arbitrage.

Possible?

I hear the people in this topic have decided to switch to a 0.1 Nxt fee?  I've done some math and that would be only be enough to allow use to break even if we had ~50 forgers at a time.  Point is, it's way too low.

Fee structure proposal
0.4% transaction fee
0.05 Nxt per message
30 Nxt per alias registration

Didn't want to clog up this forum with a long post plus it would be really nice if we could start using other forums instead of everything in one place, no matter how loosely related.

Point is, here's the math and reasoning to back this up:
https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=785

Please go comment and let me know what you think about these numbers!

That is not a good idea. We don't need forgers to have a positive ROI. Most nodes do run now with negative ROI and it is in the intrerest of each NXT holder to secure the network. Don't forget that we are in the early stage of adoption and the system needs to be bigger to become selfsustainable. If we don't lower the fee significantly, we will not grow as much as most of us would like.

Also it is a community consensus to lower the fee to 0.1 NXT. No Stakeholder would pay 4000 NXT to just move his 1.000.000. Srsly 0.4% rofl

My 2 NXT cents

So if we ever make coins or something we will need a slogan. USD has in god we trust. Bitcoin has "vires in numeris" which means strength in numbers. I thought for nxt we might use "In emergentia speramus" which translates to "in emergence we trust"

I wanted to write something else underneath the nxt logo that i put on my silver bars so "In emergentia speramus" is what i came up with. All constructive comments welcome.

In trust we trust:
In fide credimus

(no idea if that's a valid translation!)

@C-f-b you said that the fee won't be lowered this week. But can you give a roughly ETA? Because we need to know that to do our planing on reddit.

I'm quite busy this and next week with Asset Exchange and Voting System. U should ask Jean-Luc if he is planning to change min fee in the nearest future.

Ok thank you, will do now!

Guys, i want to promote NXT on reddit now that the tipbot works and want to start a giveaway that i crosspromote on other subreddits. Would there be some communityfunds available for that?

We should take a big effort to explain why P-O-S is different from P-O-W coin and the term pre-mine does not apply. Also take an effort to stress on how P-O-W coin have been dominated by mining industry which is a big extra burden for a self-sufficient blockchain.

Yes, we will start also a seperate info campain. When i start this giveaway i will need a list of clients and links where one can get started with NXT. Reddit is currently a Doge dominated place, but i think we can penetrate that market with our superior features!

Hi NXTers!

NXT's greatest competitor seem to be Ethereum. It's main feature that NXT still lacks is scripting, which is a wonderful idea (along with it's risks of course) - kudos to Vitalik and his team for bringing this up!

Because I want NXT to be competitive and because this is a great feature on it's own, I decided to personally fund a team led by CIYAM and CfB (as long as he is with us), to implement this technology in NXT too!

The code will be open sourced when the feature is finished and extensively tested.
We will use a private github repo if others want to easily review the source during development.

Let the good times roll!

Yeehaw!

you guys are awesome!!! Thanks klee for taking the initiative

@tipping bot bounty. I know You Guys are pretty stoked to see the reddit bot in action. and i don't want to be a downer. but i really only want to give him a partial bounty when he releases the source.

we need the bot to handle Offchain tipping and fractional Nxt tipping. i also know that this is way harder to implement, but it was a requirement for the bounty as i always stated it should be like the doge tipping bot.

i hope you guys understand my point.

any feedback on this?
