It is possible to find out whether the card was overclocked, but as far as I know, only if the voltage(s) were increased.
The problem is that it isn't easy and it's time-consuming, so most people can successfully RMA their cards even after extreme O/C.

Better airflow.
Without them, in many motherboards no more than 2-3 cards would fit.

What PSU is this? If it's not a good brand (e.g Corsair, OCZ, Be quiet!, Antec, Seasonic, etc.) then you risk damaging your hardware.
1200W should be enough at stock settings.

You guys ran these 5850s fans at 100% speed?

I'm currently running at 72% (24/7 ofc), how much time till it breaks? :]

What GPU(s) and PSU(s) were you using?
4466  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please, stop having children. (Discussion about overpopulation) on: July 02, 2011, 11:10:55 PM
In developed countries we actually need people to have MORE children.
Why?

Because the population is aging.
4467  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please, stop having children. (Discussion about overpopulation) on: July 02, 2011, 09:07:22 PM
Might be good advice for most African countries.

Apart from that, I DISAGREE with the OP, VHEMT CoE and other morons.

In developed countries we actually need people to have MORE children.

1.
Anyone know why the difference between my Total reward and confirmed reward is increasing? (ATM I have 0.32 Unconfirmed reward, 0.88 Confirmed reward, 1.2 total reward, and 0.009 Estimated reward).

2.
Why do I need to use the same flags on each miner (GPU) using phoenix miner? If I dont do it my HD 5850 isnt going to work properly (full speed, but 2x less shares than my HD 6850)

4469  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: My 5830 x 2 rig is only pulling about 260 OCed Help!! on: July 02, 2011, 11:29:12 AM
Which miner and which (if any) flags are you using?

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

I hope you didn't mean '400ish' but rather '300ish' on each GPU.
400 Mhash/s can be achieved on 5850 @ 960-1000Mhz

I doubt it would work for more than 5 minutes (or 10 min if you're lucky) at full load without a BSOD. 1 GHz is a a 30% overclock.

Do you know any O/C software which would allow to overclock HD 6850 and HD 6850? I also need voltage change option.
On msi afterburner I can't change voltages.
On ati tray tools - only HD 6850 (my 'main' GPU, used also for gaming) is detected, 5850 isnt.
On trixx - same as ati tray tools.
In CCC I cannot change voltages.

I know I could modify and flash a new BIOS, but I would like to avoid doing that.
4471  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 500Mh/s worth trying to solo mine? on: July 01, 2011, 12:04:35 PM
I wouldn't mine solo unless I had >2Ghash/s and free electricity.
ATM I have 0.8 Ghash/s, pooled mining is the best solution, 2% fees isn't really a lot.

Good job!

What was the default voltage, OP?
I can only get 805MHz stable. @900 (without voltage increase it's not very stable :/ ~350 Mhash/s though)
4474  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5850 and 6850 together, 6850 slows down on: July 01, 2011, 09:23:59 AM
After it slowed down, the gpu usage fell to around 50%. An hour after my post I got a BSOD, there was a problem with some ati file.
BUT I think I solved my problem: moved back my HD 5850, it's now running @ 805 Mhz, 12h uptime so far.

EDIT: just tried to overclock my 5850 a bit more, only by another 20 MHz... got a BSOD after 10 min. So I think 805 is max stable I can get.
Didn't increase any voltages so far - my temps are from mid 70s to mid 80s, after adding 5850, my 6850 is almost 15C hotter ;]
4475  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / 5850 and 6850 together, 6850 slows down on: June 30, 2011, 10:33:02 PM
Hi,

Im having a problem with 5850 and  6850. Just installed them properly, 5850 @ 900MHz, 6850 @ 850, both running guiminer (phoenix), 5850 was 350Mhash/s and 6850 was at 220Mhash/s, but after about 2h, 6850 slowed down to 80Mhash/s, without flags its even worse (65mhash/s). I cant get it to return to its full speed.
OS - win7 pro 64
psu corsair vx550
asus p5q-e
gpu driver ver. 11.5

temps are below 80C
if I stop minig with 5850, 6850 is still working at 80mhash/s. Why did work fine for only 2h? :>

Any help is appreciated, if any more details are required I'll post them in ca. 10h.

How old are you? 12, 17, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60?

If you don't feel like divulging this kind of information, you don't have to answer, I'm just curious Wink
