4461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: February 06, 2022, 07:30:50 PM
In my opinion, today the metaverse is just a way to attract attention to the project. The same can be seen in many projects launching NFT, which have no real application and have nothing to do with the economics of the project. Naturally such projects fade quickly. Many projects working on the metaverse expect the same prospects and only teams creating something unique will succeed.
Yes, it's just a hype that generates income for project developers, through investments from delusional and speculative investors, and for news sites, through click bait articles, while generating media for any company or business which adds the keyword metaverse to their plans. In fact, metaverse as it's being promoted isn't different from any virtual games around.

If you want to live a gambling metaverse experience, you can just play GTA San Andreas and go to The Four Dragons Casino in Las Venturas. I'm sure it's much better and the experience much more satisfactory than any projects around can offer. Cheesy
4462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto-Currency in Africa on: February 06, 2022, 07:02:27 PM
As of December 2020 (https://www.statista.com/statistics/505883/number-of-internet-users-in-african-countries/):
- 575 million Africans had "internet access"; and
- 1.25 billion Africa's population.

Assuming some growth for the year, we can project 45% of Africa have some internet connection.

How the connected 45% breaks down in terms of
- 60% roaming mobile access vs.
- 40% hard line broadband.

Its reasonable to say that about 20% have reliable, non-intermittent broadband internet access.
Indeed very bad results for african continent, considering the age of technology the world is living right now. Every person in the world should have free access to internet connection. Actually, that should be included in the human rights.

But I can't deny access to internet in Africa is increasing faster than ever! I can see this fact on practice, as more and more profiles from african people are appearing at social medias these days, at same time making more evident news related to the continent on the internet. In crypto community, african participation increasement is also very clear, although not from every countries.

I risk saying the tendency is to see those 20% which have access to quality and full time internet tripling to 60% in the next couple of years... Anyway, foreigner investors from another continents are needed.
4463  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2022, 06:28:14 PM
I wonder when the price of Bitcoin will reach $ 100k +.

Honestly, it wasn't in my mind and think that price. I'm not saying it won't and it is impossible as always there is a chance yet, that probably it takes a little bit longer and that might bore us waiting if we keep thinking about it. It was better I guess to think first of $50k, another $70k as for it has been reached, that it means we can proceed to $100k.

But for now, I foresee a very tough year of crypto this year and many dumps to show compared to pumps. And this could be a very challenging year for holders as well unless if they can still manage their emotions.
I agree with you. 2022 has been being a harsh year for bitcoin. Since this year has started the lack of good news and positive price fluctuations is evident. I believe we are living preparation times for a buill run that is imminent and that can start at any moment. So for every holders it's important to keep bitcoin investments intact, although they should forget it for a while, not touching their wallets. That is a special advice mainly for those who may want to cut losses selling their bitcoins for a cheap price due to fear regards the currently market's conditions.
4464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino KYC how it works and to what effect on: February 06, 2022, 06:07:40 PM
The main disadvantage in my opinion is the bureaucracy it creates for gamblers in order to start playing in a casino. When we sign up, we want to make an instant deposit and start playing without waiting for any pendencies, and unfortunatelly with KYC, the platform needs to approve our documents first until we have the certain our account will be 100% functional or not.
On the other hand, KYC is a standard procedure for most operating businesses right now, including the ones related to the crypto universe, so we can't do much about it. If casinos don't follow basic requirements asked by regulators, it won't be possible for them to work... It's a hard decision that totally disrespects gamblers' privacy, but I can understand it's necessary.
4465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in Rocket 🚀 mood. on: February 05, 2022, 11:42:18 PM
Bitcoin is supporting 40,000$ range price for two days already. That looks very good, but too early to say if this tendency is going to last longer or not. I would like to see what happens to bitcoin price in a week time period or so to conclude if this is a solid movement or just a common fluctuation that is going to be reverted soon, like we have seen recently during the first weeks of January.
The only thing I'm sure is that everyone should always hold some amount of bitcoin, doesn't matter the scenario. We never know when prices are going to change, so it's better to be prepared for it all the time.
4466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Son Poisons Father In Attempt To Steal Bitcoin Wallet Funds on: February 05, 2022, 10:23:28 PM
These are shocking news revealing how far a son can reach to steal money from his own father. The case happened in Maryland, USA. Father and son were crypto investors and had already made some decent profit from their investments. The son, however, besides suffering from drugs addiction, wasn't satisfied with his part of the profit and wanted his father to cashout more money.

The father disagreed and said the son he should stop doing drugs instead. Upset, the son executed a plan where he poisoned his own father with a tea containing a high dose of benzodiazepines, which lead the man to fall unconscious, being found only 2 days later lay in his apartment and staying 4 days recovering on the hospital.

With the cellphone in hands, the son was able to access his father's funds and move two-thirds of the portfolio into ethereum, before being found and arrested. Now he is going to be moved to a rehab clinic for addicted. Glad the history didn't end so tragic as it could, as the victim is alive and recovered.

4467  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Government Really Ban Crypto? on: February 05, 2022, 07:45:13 PM
but the only problem is how you can access those p2p sites and what if its also banned in your country? But, let say you can be able to bypass it, we cant still be 100 percent sure that you are transacting with a normal user that only wants to trade his cryptocurrencies but what if that person you are transacting with is an asset of police, fbi, nbi or whatever you called it that are against this act.

The penalties are going to be heavy for sure. So, I do not think it is worth the risk but it will be better if we can wait till the cryptocurrencies are allowed on our country so that we can trade without worries and most importantly is we can spend the cryptocurrency that we obtain.
Every action that violates the rules does have a risk, therefore severe sanctions will be effective to prevent violations of the law in a country, including sanctions if someone uses illegal currency in a country that prohibits it.

In my country, the government not only prohibits the use of cryptocurrency as a means of payment but the government also prohibits the use of foreign currency. This means that trading can continue if the currency is converted to fiat “legitimate currency” so that no rules are violated.
This depends a bit on your nation as well. In my nations laws are a bit more "lax", like for example there are THOUSANDS of people who murdered someone and got away with it on parole, or had like 3-4 years jail time, because our jails are crowded as it is so they just let them be. And there are hundreds of journalists in the jail instead... Yeap, they put journalists in jail instead of murderers or rapists.

In a world like that, I am 100% sure that the law is a law as long as you can enforce it. For example if you ban crypto, and say that "anyone who ever owns even 1 satoshi will be in jail forever!!!" but then thousands still do it while only 3-4 gets jailed for it? I am sure people will keep doing it.
People will keep doing it because it's a calculated risk. The chances of success surpass the probability of ending caught. It's like those people who live in miserable countries and try entering first world countries illegaly. They know they can be arrested or even die on their way, but the uncertain of a better quality life, including all the risks involved, is preferable than having the certain of living on their homeland, as it doesn't proportionate any kind of development perspective, security, happiness and so on...

The same I could say about crypto and fiat. To not be able to deal with cryptocurrency nowadays heavily limits the financial personal development of an individual, since he wil be hostage of the fiat depreciative currencies and traditional banks' lobby.
4468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Celebrities Embracing bitcoin because of Divorce? on: February 05, 2022, 05:31:43 PM
If you have BTC while you are still single and you got married after a year yet you still have your BTC in a wallet. Will these coins in the wallet be considered owned by the couple?
Depending on the agreement when you get married, everything that belong to you will also belong to your partner and vice versa. That is possible...

But it's also possible that the agreement will only count as marital property what was acquired by the couple during the marriage. There are exception though, like the house where the couple lives, for an example. Doesn't matter if it was acquired before the marriage by one the parts. Since they live together there, the house becomes marital property as well and must be splitted in case of divorce.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, is another story, because besides being acquired before the union, it's untouched and not shared to the partner, so it can be considered separate property that will fully remain with the original owner.
4469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON - Semi Finals. on: February 04, 2022, 08:34:48 PM
Very well played match by Egypt. A weaker team has to know how to take the game from the beginning to the end, and that is how Egypt played with excellency achieving the victory after all. Knowing the adversary was much stronger in skills, they had to go through the longest and most patience demanding path.

For me it wasn't a big surprise, because right after their game against Morocco it was clear Egypt was putting all their effort and energy into progressing on african cup towards the final. Moreover, they are probably one of the most strategical teams of the championship, what puts them in big advantage against every opponents.

Now the final is going to be tough and unpredictable, although I'm inclined to believe in Egypt winning.
4470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON - Semi Finals. on: February 03, 2022, 05:57:46 PM
Congratulations to Senegal, one of the best national teams of african continent. Who watched the first half of the match couldn't imagine there were going to be so many goals in the second half. Now they are going to try their first title on the history of african cup. I believe if they go against Cameroon for the final, they lose, but if they take Egypt it's possible to win...

Cameroon has a more agressive playstyle and Senegal would probably try to adopt the same strategy against them, what is a big mistake, because they don't have enough conditions to play at same skills' level. However, against Egypt it may work, as skills' level is similar and an offensive strategy may be able to break egyptian defensive lines without much prejudice to their own defense, just like Senegal did with Burkina Faso.
4471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the most important features of an online crypto casino? on: February 02, 2022, 08:13:43 PM
I think having used different kinds of crypto casinos for a long time, i find myself going back to a casino if it offers cashbacks for a string of losses as this shows that the acknowledge the bad runs i had and its some sort of second chance...
Other factors that fall in play are bonuses and types of coins supported on the casino.

I can't believe cashback is the most important feature that you can think of. I'd say transparency, lack of KYC, active live support, deposit bonuses... Cashback is nothing really. All casinos can offer it to an extent because they'll make money of you anyway. If you lose 1000$ and they offer you 200 back they still made money. It's just a way to show you they "care" about you and want a loser like you to keep playing. The'll give you back 200 because chances are you're going to bet it again and lose.
The casino will be always in profit, no doubts about it. But I can understand a gambler who sees a lot of benefits in cashback feature. As you said, if he loses 1000$ and the casino returns 200$ back to him, it means less 200$ the gambler will have to spend from his own pocket to keep betting. Moreover, being lucky it's possible to recover the initial loss with the extra 200$ given by the casino, who knows...

For daily gamblers I think cashback has a big impact on long run: they can play for longer, spending less.
4472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I the only one who loves BTC but hates the Metaverse idea and the NFTs? on: February 02, 2022, 07:07:39 PM
Aren't people already living in virtual fake universes even without the called metaverse hype? Every mmorpg or dumb mobile app game are a kind of metaverse where people put hundreds or thousands of dollars on their accounts to upgrade their stats or make their characters look cooler. And it really works for developers, otherwise many popular online games which are alive for decades already would be dead at this time.

NFT just upgrades this ecosystem a little bit. So instead of only putting money on games without cashing out anything, now you will be able to sell your stuff as well if you wish at some point. For me there isn't any cons on it. That is actually pretty good and rewarding for people who spends their whole lives on virtual environments playing videogames.
4473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [LIST]Countries Where Gambling Is Illegal on: February 02, 2022, 06:12:35 PM
I believe at least half of the world's countries would fit on this list for strict restrictions and regulations on gambling activity on their territories. Even USA, considered the land of the free, isn't free of such bans, as some states consider gambling illegal.

Interesting that all countries, especially the most severe ones, always have exceptions that don't make any sense at all, since gambling is gambling, doesn't matter the game you are betting on. Still, regulators believe slots or dice are harmful, but horse racing or national lottery aren't... What is the difference?
4474  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 02, 2022, 02:17:18 AM
I am still on my old strategy but I think it works better overall than this of the WoF,of course with WoF if you hit a big prize (which happens extremely rarely these days) you have won but in normal conditions where big prizes are rare,I think it is better to play like me,use like near 1200 RP to buy Free Btc Bonus of 1000% and I do this right at 16.00PM when I leave work so I can click a few times during afternoon and night and I can also click during work about 7-8 times.By doing so you will get like 700-900 satoshi daily which can bring you 30-40 FUN token,I find this to be the best way to spend the RP-s.I buy like 30 FUN everyday as minimum but now I am running out of RP so I will have to stop for sometime until I replenish my RP.

I guess it's better to accumulate RP and not spend it on BTC bonuses because it doesn't look profitable. Let's imagine you have 100k reward points and decide to spend it all on BTC bonuses for ~1.2k RP each. In this case, you would only be able to buy 2300-3000 FUN tokens, given that this BTC bonus brings you 700-900 sats daily. On the other hand, if you just exchanged those 100k reward points for 100k sats, you could buy 4000 FUN tokens.
Yes, the most worthful way to use RPs is to accumulate 100K and exchange for 100K satoshis, without any doubts. However, not everyone has patience, hope, perseverance, enough money or referrals to reach that amount before using it, so they simply collect some thousands and start using it for extra wheel's spins or RP bonus. Since those RPs were given "for free", the mindset of "it's better than nothing" is common among many users.
4475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: February 02, 2022, 01:32:56 AM
Today is home teams day except Bolivia all home teams are temporarily wins and maybe until the end, did you watch Uruguay? they are compact to destroy the defense of Venezuela 4-1 so far there is a possibility of additional goals I understand Uruguay is targeting 4th place to stay in the safe zone the difference in points between competitors very close making the competition even tighter.
When a team starts scoring at the first minutes or seconds (like in this case, Uruguay did at 50 seconds of game), it's hard for the opposite team to keep the morale high. Uruguay gave no chance for Venezuela which unfortunatelly wasn't able to play from equal to equal against "la selección celeste". It was tempting to bet on Venezuela due to the high odds and the bad performance of Uruguay on their last games, but it ended that the most expected and low profitable result was the best choice.

The scenario is looking better for Uruguay, but they aren't safe in 4th position yet. Peru may win next game against Equador and take the 4th place from them.
4476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fear is not Real. on: February 02, 2022, 12:15:59 AM
Fear only affects the small fishes which have no influence over bitcoin's price. If they sell their coins or not, it won't have any impact on bitcoin price at all... The problem are the whales moving huge amounts of bitcoins in single transactions. And they don't do this because they fear the market, rather they sell their coins because a more tempting opportunity is disponible to them (like the currently increase in interest rates in USA) in another market.

So, it's not fear the cause of bearish markets and crashes in price. It's just the lack of temporary interest from big investors for crypto universe because their money is generating more income by sitting somewhere else...
4477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of the NFTs on: February 01, 2022, 07:04:30 PM
Many NFT projects started last year, promising to show some progress during this year of 2022 on their roadmap, but so far I haven't seen any results. I don't know if the bear market slowed down NFT projects' developers , but that is what it looks like. Maybe from the second quarter on updates regard NFT games will be introduced and shared with the crypto community.
There are many promises on this NFT industry, but too little was delivered to investors and enthusiasts for real. So we have to be careful to not believe in anything we see around, only investing in something you see working on practice. Beware of ponzi NFTs.
4478  Economy / Economics / Re: IMF urges El Salvador to remove Bitcoin as legal tender on: February 01, 2022, 05:58:51 PM
IMF wants to show the world what happens to countries which adopt bitcoin as legal tender. They are letting the message very clear: don't ever think about adopting bitcoin, because if you do this, you aren't going to have financial support from us anymore...

Blackmail on its purest form.

In fact what happens is that once governments embrace bitcoin for their own countries, they have to resign loans, international investments or any other kind of partnership with the establishment. It's a difficult decision to make, and I'm not sure if El Salvador is able to go ahead with bitcoin, because they totally depend on international help from IMF to pay the rising debt that might reach to 100% of their GDP soon if something isn't done to control it.
4479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: India proposes 30% tax on crypto and NFTs income on: February 01, 2022, 04:30:25 PM
What? Shocked

This is the most absurd regulation proposal made by a government towards cryptocurrency so far. It's even more absurd than completely banning it as it was presupposed before. I guess in a situation where the investor loses money with crypto and NFT the government is also going to pick the loss in solidarity, compensating 30% of the lost amount back to the investor, right? Wink

Such lunatic concept would only make sense this way... Tongue
4480  Economy / Economics / Re: How To Profit From MASSIVE Inflation on: January 31, 2022, 11:05:44 PM
Massive inflation usually comes side by side with high interest rates. So at the beginning it can be profitable for investors to keep and invest their money on that inflationary currency, just like a ponzi scheme is profitable for early investors, but completely ruins the economies of late ones or of those who aren't agile enough to exchange their money on the right time into a stable currency.

Real estate is great, but you have to keep in mind if it is a good choice to have a property in a chaotic country where massive inflation is a constant threat.
