4461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: President Duterte is Urging all citizens of the Philippines to learn Bitcoin on: June 10, 2020, 07:41:21 AM
What's going on with all the bitcoin promotion lately. I have seen quite a few threads related to bitcoin promotion since morning.
But reading the above comments shows that the above news is just fake.
I guess people are hyping up bitcoin again. I will recommend all the users not to believe any bitcoin promotion related articles and do a thorough research before buying any such news. Bitcoin is already doing quite well so in my opinion there's no such need to advertise bitcoin by going out of the box.
4462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why don't we literally send Bitcoin to the moon? on: June 10, 2020, 07:09:55 AM
Well the idea is really nice. As soon as I saw the title I had it in mind what you are proposing and upon opening the thread I read what I had in mind.
But there are problems worth thinking of.

Since Bitcoin is decentralized there are only 2 ways it can be advertised.
1. A private individual/group invests in the promotion and launches the advertisement in space.
2. The people contribute towards the promotion and raise money to launch the advertisement in space.

Also, not to mention that it would need approvals from certain authorities before doing such a kind of promotion.
4463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The average cost of sending a Bitcoin transaction is now just a little over $1. on: June 09, 2020, 04:54:49 PM
It's actually a good payment method if we consider it in this way. Otherwise international funds transfer takes time and huge charges.
Bitcoin on the other hand, reduces the transfer time and charges. I have been using bitcoin from a long time and at peak times I have been $7 - $10 for each transaction. Seeing these transactions charging less than $1 just makes me more proud of bitcoin.
But the issue is whenever more people get involved with bitcoin, the transaction charges increases again.
4464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your stategy how to grow bitcoin on: June 09, 2020, 04:47:12 PM
My strategy is quite simple and straight forward. Buy bitcoins and hold it until your desired target.
If an opportunity arises to buy potential altcoins at cheap price for example buying ether for less than $200 then buy it.
Again when the price of the altcoin increases when paired with BTC then sell it.
So that when the price of bitcoin increases the overall gains would be huge.
4465  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: THINGS THAT CAN'T BE TAUGHT IN TRADING on: June 06, 2020, 06:28:28 AM
So I realized there are so many things that can't be taught in trading.

One major thing I know can't be taught is the psychological aspect of trading.

No matter the number of videos you watch on this, you need to learn your psychology by Yourself! This is just a fact!

What other things can't be taught in trading?

One important thing that can't be taught is PATIENCE
A crypto trader definitely needs patience so that he can execute his strategy with a calm mind and gain profits.
Many traders don't really have the patience and end up losing their money.
Though we keep on saying you need to be patient there are very few who actually listens.
Patience can't be thought it's something that we have to achieve by ourselves.
4466  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3 seed words + passphrase on: June 06, 2020, 06:14:01 AM
these "words" are actually representing the "entropy" that is used to generate the individual private keys. so unless you can come up with a way to generate the same level of security entropy (at least 128-bits) using 3 words, it won't work.

You can do it using https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ and i understand you wont achieve 128 bits, this is where the passphrase with strong password is extremely important.

are you really suggesting that memorizing 3 words + something like
Code:
J\{m^"<Aw2ATdn)V96

is easier than memorizing this:
Code:
legal winner thank year wave sausage worth useful legal winner thank yellow
i'm not convinced!

No, i am not suggesting to create your password like this. you can create something like !Went>P@r!$&be$tmem0ryev_r

Something that you can create that reflect to your experience and easy to remember and hard to crack
To be really honest, even that would be easily guessed since
!c@nwr!t3l!k3th!5f0r3v3r

It is predictable. A nerd wont take longer to crack your seed phrase if he digs up a little.
The current seed phrase though works like a charm since it maintains higher security with the given entropy.
4467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Patoshi Researcher: 'Satoshi won't use his coins ever’" on: June 06, 2020, 05:05:37 AM
I would have done the same thing if I were in his place. I am already pissed off with the whales since they hold most of the bitcoins.
They keep manipulating the market from time to time. This should not happen to be honest.
This breaks the trust of common people and keep bitcoin at the risk of manipulation.

Satoshi is a real inspiration and has set a huge example for many techies in this world.
He has proved that one man can make a huge difference.
4468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ask Google: What is the best performing asset in 2020 on: June 06, 2020, 04:31:53 AM
I agree with it but you can also see it as Google algo being what it is. From what I understand of how it works, you have had to had expected this kind of result because of how much attention Bitcoin has had in the past decade. Just counting the times it's been searched in google and the number of articles that compared BTC and Gold is enough to warrant both of them being at the top of the search list. And here's also the thing, if you were to read a few articles when you search for the best performing asset, you'd see BTC because it beat Gold after most of the crisis of the virus was over, around April - May.

Basically, Google was just stating facts from what happened in the past few months. Gold failed to make a comeback bigger than BTC, while on the other hand, BTC jumped from a $4k bottom last March to the around $10k right now.
I will agree on that. I guess more people invested in bitcoin this year when the pandemic was all over the world.
India itself saw a growth of 25% in bitcoin investors according to paxful in the April - May duration.
After seeing a huge crash in the stock market and not so much increase in Gold's price and seeing bitcoin recover quite well, I guess bitcoin had become the obvious choice for many people. Well it turned out to be in our favour now since bitcoin has spiked up to $9.5k.
4469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC/ETH contract in Ebay, looks very shady??? on: June 06, 2020, 04:11:41 AM
There are so many flaws in this trade to identify that it's an obvious scam.

1. They are selling a contract on ebay without actually providing a website for the mining.
2. It is similar to a cloud mining contract and as we all know most of the cloud mining is fake.
3. They are "promising" high returns and we all know HYIP is a scam.
4. The seller is definitely not trusted because he would be having a good rating if he was a genuine seller.

I can go on but these points are more than sufficient to identify the obvious scam.
you should probably report it so that other newbies don't get scammed by this.
4470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core question. on: June 05, 2020, 04:30:58 PM
You will surely need the wallet.dat to restore your wallet after which you will be able to access your coins.
But if you don't have the wallet.dat file then consider your bitcoins as lost.

So you will have to find a way to recover the wallet.dat file from wherever you had stored it.
4471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum planning to take over??? on: June 05, 2020, 04:21:32 PM
Ethereum poised to potentially outperform top crypto coins in near future, with the way I'm sensing things it seem ethereum is becoming more bullish by every minutes, here are few questions for you crypto lovers

1. Can Ethereum take over?
2. What will happen after the POS upgrade?
3. How do you see the 32Eth requirements for staking?
I agree, ETH is the most potential coin in my opinion. I would say, it's more "potential" than bitcoin.
It has more room to grow, more use cases and more developers.

I certainly don't think ETH can take over any time soon because bitcoin has more supporters/holders and it is very difficult to take over bitcoin atleast for the next decade.

After the POS upgrade I think more number of people will dive in to buy ether since it will provide investors to earn more crypto while saving the potential crypto. In the long run, it's a win-win situation. So more investors will hold ether.

It's not a big deal. There will be pools which will allow people to contribute their share and then equally divide the stakes as per the ratio.
4472  Local / India / Re: Are Crypto traders willing to trade for others ? on: June 05, 2020, 07:25:34 AM
The concept of Crypto Broker can be dangerous provided cryptocurrencies have key-based ownership. It would be very difficult for anyone to trust third-party with his/her crypto holdings. We need middlemen to ensure that coins remain safe even if third-person is trading them. Exchanges can solve this problem. Exchange can let someone else control the coins of depositors but keep the coins in its own custody and only depositor can withdraw them.

I think there is already something similar to your idea. I have seen it on WazirX and the concept is known as 'Smart Token Funds'. It allows users to give control of their funds to smart traders who can invest funds in their own portfolio but can't withdraw the funds of users. This concept is more alike mutual funds wherein every smart trader provide his portfolio and users can invest funds into the portfolio by buying units of his Smart Token Funds.

Detail about STF: https://stf.wazirx.com/
List of STFs: https://wazirx.com/stf/XOLO-USDT
I did look into this. The concept is quite similar to this but has the trading part has a major difference.
WazriX STF has tokens for every trader and the users have to buy those tokens inorder to give their money to the Smart Traders to trade.

The lack of trust is the mode important thing here and WazirX STF has done the same thing which I has thought.
It's using an exchange as a trust factor. My idea was the same. But still the trading part is yet to be implemented.
It surely is a big thing and will require lots of time and effort but I guess it has never been done before.

I think the idea can workout but how can I do such a big thing all alone without any business experience and investment.
4473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Impact of mainnet in a project. on: June 04, 2020, 06:32:21 AM
What is mainnet of a project?
Impact of mainnet on a project?
Need some reviews and explanations of mainnet to understand it.
Thank you

In Layman's terms, there are basically two versions of a launch. A testnet and a mainnet.
A testnet is when the project is in testing phase.
A mainnet is when the project is officially released to the public.

So if the project has gone mainnet then it has been released officially for public use and you should be able to use it.
4474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2020 rising altcoin on: June 04, 2020, 06:21:22 AM
I'll go with the highest market cap altcoins on this year.
I'll go with Ethereum, there's a lot of upcoming updates on Ethereum especially the Ethereum 2.0, or Ethereum will become Proof Of Stake.
And on the technical part, Ethereum is still 80%+ from its all-time-high price, so there's still lot of space to grow and profits if ever we will visit again its all-time-high price.
There's no doubt that ether will soon reach it's ATH price. The fact that ether is moving to Proof of Stake give's itself more space to grow.
Though we might see a little decrease in price due to the higher cap of 32ETH for staking, it will soon be the new norm as mining pools emerge which will provide ways to invest with lower amounts of ETH. So in the long run, the price of ether is most probably gonna increase and hence the price will cross it's ATH price.
4475  Local / India / Are Crypto traders willing to trade for others ? on: June 04, 2020, 06:03:10 AM
Hi Guys,

I am thinking of an idea and it's quite simple. The question here is
"Are crypto traders willing to trade for others for a percentage of profit/loss or a brokerage fees ? "
The Crypto trader will act as a crypto broker just like the one in Stock market.

I won't disclose the whole idea but this can be a good thing in my opinion.
It will bring in more investors in Crypto and will provide job opportunities to crypto traders.

I am open to discuss the whole idea only to trusted members and only in DM.
4476  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading mistakes i do on: June 04, 2020, 04:57:51 AM
I would say that the solution to all your problems is patience. If you try to be a little patient then you will see the results.
Instead of selling when the the price is not rising, you could be a little patient and wait until the price rises.
Instead of buying at peak and selling when the price goes down, you can be a little patient and wait until the price crosses the ATH price  so that you make a profit.
Instead of panic selling, you can be a little patient and wait to sell at a better price.

All you need is patience bud.
4477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to solve the trade collision? on: June 04, 2020, 04:45:37 AM
Even though you say 'at the same time' there might be a difference of a few seconds or milliseconds in the take orders placed by the takers.
So the exchange might be approving the take orders on first come first serve basis.
So the one who placed the take order first would receive the tokens first followed by the laterals.

If we talk about the rarest possibility of multiple take orders getting placed at the exact same milli second then the exchange can fill all those take orders in the same ratio as the amount given by those takers.
4478  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Better trade BTC or BNB? On BINANCE on: June 03, 2020, 04:11:22 PM
Hello, someone can explaine if is better trade in bnb or btc on binance...and when is better use BTC or BNB.
Thanks! Smiley
Why not trade both the coins and find out which works for you. Diversifying your portfolio in good coins is the best thing to do.
BNB is still has more room to grow and if you are earning more profits in BNB then you are indirectly earning more bitcoins if you trade with BNB/BTC pair.
4479  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New to trading on: June 03, 2020, 04:02:14 PM
Hello All,

I was hoping to get some advice as I am brand new to crypto and trading. So if I have bought an Altcoin or bitcoin at a higher price than it is now should I sell and buy the dip or does crypto not work like that? I am trying to find the best way to start making small profits.

Any help is appreciated.
Well it's quite simple here. You don't have too many options.

The only options to earn a profit are

1. Sell quickly and buy back at further lower price so that you can sell it back at a higher price to make a profit
2. wait until the coin's price goes higher than your buying price so that you make a profit

If you want to cut your losses you can sell quickly so that you don't suffer huge loss.
4480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: an important reminder: don't get killed in this bull run and protect yourself. on: June 02, 2020, 04:33:41 PM
Well that's quite true. It's a great advice for beginners and panic sellers to hold on to their bitcoins.
What most of these guys do is sell their bitcoin as soon as they it going down.
While some lucky people buy it back at the right time, some are left with huge losses.

When bitcoin went from $19.5k to $3k most of the people said it's gonna break down to zero but only the bitcoin believers held on to it because they knew that bitcoin will bounce back. Bitcoin has recovered greatly in the past 2 years. This shows how worthy it is to hold.
