is it fundable/loadable or is it just a coin with the BTC-symbol on it?

They are just commemorative coins.
4462  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Attention: fake Binary Bulls and Sol Noctis Eagles on the markets! on: July 05, 2021, 08:26:29 PM
They are not "fakes"....  better called a "replica", as the dates are different and quite apparent there is no hologram.
These coins have been around for 5 years now...  easy to spot as they all have the same address!
Discussed in 2016 when they came out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1572097.0
They also make a "golden" 2016 replica as well.....

Where are the fake Binary Bulls mentioned in the title?

You got sold a redeemed, cleaned coin....   Roll Eyes

What do you mean by the dates are different ? Also, I’m not so sure these are peeled/cleaned coins, I think they are a straight knock offs/ fakes.
4463  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTB- 2021 1oz Niue $2 NZD Bitcoin Silver Coin BU on: July 05, 2021, 08:14:50 PM
I was wondering if this coin is legal tender too...  Huh

https://www.europeanmint.com/2021-1-2-oz-niue-my-first-capital-proof-coin/

Another nice find. Yes they would be legal tender as well.

I will be buying one of these as well, so if anyone in the group buy wants one let me know as well.

4465  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Attention: fake Binary Bulls and Sol Noctis Eagles on the markets! on: July 05, 2021, 04:09:37 PM

Oh wow, looks like they've got quite a few there.  I am not sure that the mint ever actually fully sold out of these coins.  It is possible that they decided to simply redeem the coins and then sell them off.  However based on your photos it certainly does look like they may be fakes.

Any Mr Robots around here able to run some sort of search on the Sol Noctis keys to see if a bunch of them have been recently cashed out?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, something certainly smells fishy here!
4466  Economy / Economics / Re: Jeff Bezos and many top amazon executives leave in mass exodus on: July 05, 2021, 04:05:35 PM
I was thinking about this same topic recently.  I think you often see high level executives stepping down from that role when they get to that point, especially Bezos who's the richest man on earth.  I think he stepped down more so due to needing to free up time for other projects he has going on.  Bezos is very interested in space exploration and I imagine his focus is on Blue Origin more so than every these days so he'd rather have someone who has the time to solely focus on being CEO of Amazon and nothing else.  I wouldn't fade this stock.  Amazon is still a massive global power that continues to grow at a rapid pace, losing their CEO wont kill them.  Just take a look at Apple after Steve Jobs passed away.
4467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are comfortable investing in government controlled investments on: July 05, 2021, 04:02:00 PM
Just think about it a little.  Roll Eyes

You know that whatever happens with your government controlled investment, you will have a safety net from that government. History has shown us how governments have bailed out Banks and/or injected millions or even Billions of tax payers money into economies to protect it.

They are printing Trillions of Dollars to reduce the impact of this Covid-19 virus on their local economy and they are doing this with money that was supposed to go to critical needs. (Public Health care / Social grants for unemployed people etc.)

Did Bitcoin get any support from governments when Stock markets plummeted lately? No, because Bitcoin is seen as the enemy.  Angry

We relish in the fact that Bitcoin is not supported by the injection of slow poison from these governments, because this cannot be sustained indefinitely. At some stage we will see that taxes would not be enough to save Banks and/or local economies. Companies and individuals can only pay so much taxes, until they go bankrupt.

It is only smoke & mirrors to postpone the inevitable collapse of the global economy. Will Bitcoin then be seen as a real safe haven or will it be too late?

I can't fully get on board with what you are stating here.  First off they are always using tax payers money to help bail out banks/companies etc.  When they print money, they are simply make new money, not necessarily using tax payers money.  I suppose it feels like that due to inflation occurring due to the printing of money.  Here in the United States if a bank goes under there is something called FDIC insurance.  It's not from tax payers money.  However it really is smoke and mirrors as if all the big banks actually did go under, this "insurance" would never actually pay out.  Also, if the world economy really did collapse, then bitcoin is not likely to be worth very much.
4468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin’s time is now on: July 05, 2021, 03:57:08 PM
Time has shown which coin will be proven as a true crypto currency and it turned out to be BitCoin, not ShitCoin   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
As a capped asset and store of value, Bitcoin is a very promising store of value for everyone.  Smiley

More and more people will buy it and exchange ShitCoins to BitCoins.  Cheesy

While I do agree with your assessment, I think that we are a ways away from there being a "crowned" winner when it comes to cryptocurrencies.  Bitcoin has proven that it is the only coin that has taken such massive inflows and outflows unlike any other coin has.  That being said, it has slowed the coin down, made it more expensive to transact etc.  I do expect things to get better in regards to that as they are working on the Lightning Network and other things to try and solve that issue.  However until then, I think bitcoin will have it's challengers even if they are shitcoins such a Dogecoin which uses the worthless Proof of Stake model.
4469  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Attention: fake Binary Bulls and Sol Noctis Eagles on the markets! on: July 05, 2021, 03:43:21 PM
As mentioned in OP, they have been sold as peeled/redeemed.

The way these lines are carved makes it seem like the coin is fake and I doubt the coin was printed this way. Instead of sharp lines, they are pretty blurry on the fake version. It looks almost like I did not have the right focus when snapping the pics: https://i.imgur.com/HtJP9xg.jpg, https://i.imgur.com/0hotn2K.jpg,

I'll see what options I have to test the coin's material. The very small symbol can clearly be seen close-up that, on the fake one, it's very smooth and has no real shape while the real coin has a very pointy, sharpy symbol: https://i.imgur.com/4syH46E.jpg (pic 1), https://i.imgur.com/bS4GZvj.jpg (pic 2), https://i.imgur.com/SpnlCj0.jpg (pic 3)

Another tell-tale sign might be that the fake one has its reflective back smooth and plain like a mirror. The real one, at least the one I own, does not have such a smooth back..

I also mentioned that the bull is probably not fake, but I assume they are selling fake bulls too. I took some pictures with my phone, maybe they help more.

Here's a picture of the probably legit bull next to the 100% legit one (I don't think it's necessary to upload other pics, it seems legit especially since it has some hologram residue on the back): https://i.imgur.com/Ieotv9I.jpg

Yeah I read that you said they are being sold as peeled/redeemed, that's why I mentioned checking if it's real silver.  You bring up some very valid observations.  Do you have a link for the ebay sale?

I finally decided to try and redeem these coins.  I just sent an email per the instructions you can see below, and it bounced back.  That alone almost constitutes a scam itself.  Why would they delete the email for the redemption process?!  I have now forwarded the email to the email listed on the company's homepage - https://hyperiongold.com/ .  I wrote the email in both English and Korean, so they can't use the excuse of not being able to read English ( even though the coin and instruction pages themselves, the creator of the coin Scottsdale Mint, are all in English/English speaking company).

4472  Economy / Collectibles / Roman Booteen Bitcoin Coin on: July 05, 2021, 02:56:58 PM
I had been asking Roman if he would make a Bitcoin coin in his posts for a while now. Of course he never responded to my requests. However I woke up today, logged in to Instagram and low and behold ..he did it ! If you don’t know who Roman Booteen is I highly recommend checking out his work. He is arguably the most famous coin maker on the planet. He is famous for creating specialized / highly intricate “hobo-coins”.  Just thought I’d share with you all. Now who’s going to Russia to buy this ?!  ( Keep in mind the buyer reserves all rights to copy/produce reproductions of this coin.  It would be great if the company Heads or Tales who has made all of the other reproductions ( https://hotco.co/search?type=product%2Carticle%2Cpage&q=roman+booteen ) doesn't get the opportunity to do it again ...I don't trust them for a number of reasons.  They are actually the makers/creators behind the MJB Monetary Metals Bitcoin coin design that we all know and hate lol.  FYI they also make these coins https://coldstoragecoins.com/ ).

Fake Sol Noctis Eagles have been going around for some time however I don’t know that I’ve ever seen them faked this well before. Your obvious tell-tale sign is that there is no hologram on the “fake” eagles. Have you tested this coin to make sure it’s in fact not real silver, meaning maybe this person really is simply selling redeemed Sol Noctis coins? I’ve also never seen fakes being sold with COAs. Also I don’t see any photos of fake Sol Noctis Bulls like you mention? Do you have a link to any of the sales pages?

Btw kinda curious, how did you know to come here to the btalk collectibles section for this, being your first post and all?

4478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason why China banned Bitcoin. on: July 04, 2021, 04:10:12 PM
I appreciate you coming forth with this information.  I am curious, is bitcointalk.org a non-banned website in China, or do you have to use a VPN/Tor to access this site? I am also curious if you are located in China, or Hong Kong? While I certainly agree with you that China is probably somewhat concerned about the carbon emissions, I do not believe that this is the main reason for them banning it.  China is a communist nation, which controls everything.  As you know, life is highly controlled and the Chinese citizens are stripped of many basic freedoms.  There is a reason the government created the Digital Yuan (Bitcoin replacement that can completely track it's citizens every moves).  China is far more concerned about keeping tabs on it's peoples every day doings than it is with climate change.  Again I am not saying they don't care at all, because I'm sure they do to some extent.  Also lets be honest, you can't speak ill of your government even if you wanted to..so that is something I think that needs to be factored in to this conversation.
4479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Elon musk launches his own coin? on: July 04, 2021, 03:36:36 PM
I am embarrassed to admit that I was once was an Elon "fan boy", so to speak.  When he started attacking bitcoin, shortly after he was praising it, I started to look a little deeper in to what type of person he really was. I would highly recommend that if you want to know the truths about Elon, not the bullshit lies he's been telling us for years, then check out this two part documentary - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-FGwDDc-s8 .

Elon is a manipulate fuck, and he damn well knew this whole time about bitcoins impact on climate aspects.  I believe he had it in mind all along that he was going to create his own coin ( using proof of stake so he could be the controlling wallet(s) ).
4480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin high fees on: July 04, 2021, 03:07:57 PM
Who is paying for high fees and why are they doing this? I am quite certain this is not holders hurrying to buy a Tesla with bitcoins hehe. This might be transactions from exchanges or going to exchanges, however, why the hurry?

It is really getting quite annoying how high fees have been.  Even though bitcoin has come down quite a bit in price, and there is much less trading activity, fees still remain stupid high.  There is of course the Lightning Network, and I know that they have been working on that for quite some time but it's like when the heck are they actually going to get it up and running in an easy to use fashion.  I know Rome wasn't built in one day, and that these types of things, especially for a brand new breakthrough technology takes time, but it sure feels like it's been taking a lot more time than necessary.
