You got your first experience in mining, now you can think of the first farm for 5-7 video cards. You can connect 4 more video cards to your motherboard, but you will have to buy an additional power supply and a power supply synchronizer. I would add nvidia video cards if there is a bargain purchase opportunity.

Just think about NVIDIA and AMD. Who will buy all these GPUs if mining will stop? Gamers? They willnt buy even 5% from what miners buy. Even if ETH will go to PoS - smth will become ETH.
Think about the fact that if the price of Ethereum rises to $ 4,000, then gamers will not see video cards in stores for another year. Newer graphics cards from the latest series can be used for rendering and other computing, while older graphics cards will be sold in second-hand markets.

Thank you for all of the replies, guys! But I think you misunderstood me. I've said "the GPU is a Chinese replica" earlier. I don't doubt if it's a legit one, I'm sure that it's fake. My question is more like - is there any way I can run some miner (old version, etc), so I can see the hash-rate? This is the GPU-Z screenshot: What I've tried so far: 1. Installed the driver 390.77 from the Chinese CD - Windows DOES recognise the card 2. Installed the driver 390.77 from the NVidia website - Windows DOES recognise the card 3. Installed the driver 465.89 from the NVidia website - Windows DOES NOT recognise the card Errors so far: ETHMiner: Out of memory LoLMiner: Problem in loading kernel PhoenixMiner: Compute 2.1 (minimum 3.0 required) I'm guessing that if the GPU's chipset is an old one, I can use some old miner version to mine? Or I'm mistaken? Remove the cooling system and look at the marking of the video chip on the video card. First you need to determine what kind of video card you have in order to understand whether it can mine or not. You bought 8 video cards for about $ 150 each, it's hard for me to guess what kind of video cards you actually have. A healthy mining farm with such parameters costs 2.5 times more.

erikson_82 I have another idea. Install hive os on a USB flash drive and see if this video card will mine First, run the video card on standard settings for half a day, if there are no errors, then overclock the video card. Can you tell the store where you bought the memory for your video card?
hi, is not working, i receive an error on gpu initialization You have tried many versions of the video card bios, but the reason for the error may be different. I looked at the reports of other miners and they had no problems, the firmware of the first 8 GB BIOS allowed the video card to mine Ethereum. Lack of voltage in the memory can cause this problem or you need to re-solder the jumpers on the video card

The most easy software is Nicehash, you can download, put yout BTC adress and the software will test a lot of algos, and will mine the most profitable, paying you in BTC. (I don't use Nicehash anymore, they are having a bad behavior lately with Phoenix miner devs)
Thank you! I happened to be studying Nicehash. Seem to be the most user-friendly. But, is Phoenix miner making more profit? Thanks also for the links, they will be of help. Each video card has its own beneficial algorithm. Phoenix miner is one of the famous Ethereum miners. What video cards do you have and how many are there? 1-2 or more than 10? I think that now it is more profitable to mine top coins on pools and not work with intermediaries such as Nicehash. If you do not want to keep track of coin prices and news, then it is easier to use Nicehash.

I've checked out filecoin but the hware requirements are terribly high. Im thinkin on storj, it seems more wallet-friendly. Is it worth minig? https://www.storj.io/If you already have the hardware, then why not give it a try. The price of Filecoin has risen well, which means this may affect the price of competitors' coins. I myself have not mined on hard drives, and I consider this mining a risky investment, because the amount of disk space is growing very quickly. Video cards do not lose their relevance so much.

Resizable bar appears to be a PCIe enhancement that speeds up frequent small data transfers between CPU & GPU, not typically an issue with GPU mining. It might theoretically help reduce the degradation of Eth zombie mode on 4GB GPUs, if there are any compatible GPUs with only 4 GB. It also requires a compatible CPU & motherboard.
Resizable BAR only works with GeForce RTX 30-series graphics cards. This series has a minimum memory capacity of 8 GB. Miner developers are trying to increase performance for the latest graphics cards. So far, only the Lol miner is extending the relevance of Ethereum mining for 4GB video cards. And it will be relevant for 1-2 months.

Awesome thank you for reply Oh sorry I did not realise there was so many other UD5s otherwise I would of been more specific This one here https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherboard/GA-X58A-UD5-rev-20#ovI just finished installing windows 10 and waiting for drivers to install. If i got another 3070 it would be fine? might need better PSU using 11yr old corsair hx750 Edit: update, got it oc now and running at 27.3mh/s 56c 50%fan and 118watts cant wait to add the 3070 Good result. I wouldn't spend money on new hardware when the old hardware works great. Disassemble the old power supply unit and clean it from dust and visually see if there are any swollen capacitors. Your parameter for the operation of video cards is 12 volts. According to the norms, the minimum value is 11.4 and the maximum value is 12.6. I take measurements with a multimeter.

Hello.
Now that we know, Etherium 2.0 has started How much longer can ETH be mined? Do you know any exact dates?
Thank you for the feedback!
I think that we will be able to mine Ethereum for at least 1 year. I have not heard news of a complete change of the algorithm. If Ethereum mining ends, there will be many other coins on the market. And any modern video card will be able to mine them. The only criterion that I would use when choosing a video card is not to buy video cards with 6-8 GB memory. I haven't heard any news about eth team planning to halt EIP1559 either which will definitely happens around July and even for the fact that many pools are against this I don't see any way around, anyways ethereum team are well known for going back on their words I think you agree that adding EIP1559 is much better than moving to a Pos algorithm. Even if some pools are against, then I do not see any active actions from them, except for posts on Twitter. Their strike, which was scheduled for April 1, turned out to be fake. I mine Ethereum and follow the news

I've seen lot of articles bout stuff like burstcoin, sia and more like that, and im curious bout is there any coins i can mine whit my hdds now in 2021? If anyone can help me i ll be so thankful You can mine on hard drives, but now the hardware requirements have changed. You need to buy very expensive and high-speed equipment. For example, mining Filecoin https://docs.filecoin.io/mine/mining-architectures/#protocol-labs-example-architectureThis project makes services for decentralized data storage.

Definitely going to burn the sata cables, they aren't so strong even if you hold and squeeze them in your hand, the highest gpu I run through sata cable are gtx1660s and TI, they consume less, what I don't get is why those sata cables comes with risers in the first place when they know it can't handle high watt draws
3 years ago there was not a large selection of raisers, so many miners used a sat raiser for the GTX 1070, RX 470,RX 480. The maximum consumption of these video cards is 130-140 watts. The new PSUs had more sat connectors and fewer molex connectors, so different raisers had to be used on the farm. Experience has shown that sat raisers can work for years on video cards with a consumption of up to 130 watts.

6700 xt mines well out of the box and doesn't need to buy special motherboards and raisers like 3060. If the hashrate of ETH grows, then the payback period of your video cards can double. The only threat for video cards is the release of ASICs for mining with a large hashrate and new ETH hardforks.

Blockchain drivers are outdated for Ethereum mining because they cannot handle dag files larger than 4GB. Or I'm wrong? I also used blockchain drivers, but then I installed newer drivers, which solved the 4 GB dag file problem. Try to install a Hive OS on a USB flash drive and check how your mining farm will work.

https://www.nvidia.ru/Download/driverResults.aspx/172186/GEFORCE DRIVER 465.89 support 3070 and 1070 Don't use Windows 7, only use Windows 10 Gigabyte UD5 what kind of motherboard? GA-P55-UD5, GA-X79-UD5 or other. You can use any motherboard as long as you have enough connectors for connecting video cards. The 3070 uses less electricity (120 watts) than the 1070 (130 watts). I use a molex raiser for the 1070, so these raisers can be used for the 3070 too.

You must flash bios to 8g using ch341a or similar supported bios flasher.it will not flash bios on mobo. Get from techpowerup samsung bios. 1st try same brand bios samsung 8g it should work. good luck
Thanks bastonxl. I will try this option . Possible stupid question: is there a significant difference between flaahing using atiflash and using ch341a? There is no difference. atiflash you use when your video card is working, If your card is not working, then you use the programmer. Many programmers have special adapters that allow flashing a BIOS chip without soldering. If the BIOS firmware does not solve the problem, then you need to look at the jumpers on the video card, which may be responsible for the memory size.

Resizable BAR support is included in NVIDIA Graphics Driver 456.89 and above. I downloaded the latest version of the miner from the developer and did not find any mention of the fact that new drivers will increase the hashrate of video cards. So far, this technology increases performance in several dozen games. Stay tuned for the miner updates, but for now it is better not to update the drivers.

55 power limit- good +1034 memory -good (But you can also try higher values up to +1250,But it may be necessary to adjust these values for each card individually.) 75 fans -good -502 сс - What for? usually set the value -100 Do you have a wattmeter to check your consumption from the wall?
