4481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 12, 2021, 05:59:06 PM
What is everyone thinking about this ?
Its a good concept. How about something similar to the superbru contest but limited to MM matches only?but instead of going for the correct score, we will be sticking only to the results of the match.  Run it for X number of MM and top 5 takes the prizes ? we can have like $10 - $20 buy in for this but everyone can still post their MM picks in this thread for fun in case they dont want to take a part in the contest
I like this idea so to have something more to play for other then getting stressed about the over all leaderboard on the sportsbet.io website. We will just need to organize it and maybe have it ready for the next one, not the one for this week.

Honestly, I didn't had much guts to put so much selections in my betslip before MM but after participating in MM for a year I guess or maybe a little more, I am loving it. It feels like yeah I might have chance to hit it someday.

What is everyone thinking about this ?
That's a great idea. I am fine with any prize though but having some Arsenal shirts or Southampton shirts or maybe Watford would be lovely.

This is also a great idea because shirts are always nice and the Southampton shirts are really nice, I don't know if it's because they are so close to the top of the table or not. But they are looking extra shiny these days. Grin

Will see what steve thinks about all these suggestions with the upcoming Multimasters for the Year of the Bull(market) we are all in for crypto!  Wink
4482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beat the BetBuilder promotion thread - win prizes from Sportsbet.io on: January 12, 2021, 05:49:28 PM
@dittoup nice win for someone who does not know anything about NFL! Haha.

Ok I am also inspired by this. I know I missed the weekend competition but I will be back to check for the next ones. According to the Future schedule of Sportsbet the next weekend we have 4 games. I will choose one of the least favorites for a big win;)
Yeah that was a good winning selection by dittoup. I watched the cleveland/pitts game and said to myself the browns really are laying it on the steelers. Even with the roth getting 501 yards in the game his team still lost.

Was thinking about doing one for the start of the new season in the NHL.
So let me know on the thread if this would be a betbuilder everyone would be alright with as most said they don't follow the NFL too much so didn't know what the requirements on their bets needed to be so to participate in this premier competition of the thread.
Congratulations to ralle14 on getting the second place prizes(s).
4483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: User got access to their 127 BTC after 9 years on: January 12, 2021, 05:44:15 PM
If you read the entire all the replies on Reddit, some people say it was a fake and edited screenshot. I can't believe he got that amount in a perfect timing where Bitcoin makes a big shoot because it seems possible to recover it in the early days. I don't say it is a wow but gonna be an influencing post that makes people think "HE FINALLY GOT IT", he only wanted attention, TBH.

9 years stuck in the computer, that sounds unbelievable in reality. Yeah, it was crazy to hear but I'm not really convinced.
Most people who have been in the bitcoin environment will view this individuals claim of recovering a huge amount of bitcoins as fake and just conjured up due to the current rise we have all witnessed in the past month.
I have not gone to the reddit post but did they produce a bitcoin address with the recovered bitcoins that reside there? And did they sign a message saying it was theirs with their reddit username?
If not, then I call it complete BS.
4484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beat the BetBuilder promotion thread - win prizes from Sportsbet.io on: January 09, 2021, 02:31:46 PM
just for my understanding, i have to make a total of 3 bets of .25 mbtc each,
so bet .75 mbtc to win a single 1 mbtc bet?  is this correct?  thanx
Yes that is correct.
But it is not about the amount of the free bet as they are just that, free bets.
But the challenge!
We want those who are putting in their bets to want to win (which one betbuilder slip would be worth more than just 1mbtc) and not be putting in a random bet just because there is a freebet involved.
There are too many of those on the forum as it is and you can see those in the games and rounds section where the spam belongs.
Once again, remember this is a dry run to see how it goes in terms of participation by the community.
If there is marginal interest, then sportsbet and steve will continue with other competitions from different events and leagues.
Eventually if it goes well, then they will undoubtedly raise the prize amounts.
Don't worry about that. Wink

The first match begins in 3.5 hours from now with the buffalo bills a heavy favorite to win it all.
Good luck to those who put in there betslips.
4485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beat the BetBuilder promotion thread - win prizes from Sportsbet.io on: January 08, 2021, 04:30:51 PM
No idea what a quarterback, or a passing yard is, but will degen it up and join the competition  Cheesy

It's the same prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd (1 mbtc freebet)?
Yes there are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places at 1mbtc each.

thanks to rdbase and sportsbet for organising this
i have some questions
1)you say we have to post screenshot of 'all 3 of the matches ' , but there are 6 matches, so we can bet any 3 , correct ?

2) will 1 mbtc freebet be given to everyone who wins all 3 betbuilder bets ? why is the top 3 leaderboard used then ?

thanks!
Yes three matches out of the six over the weekend. This is why I had it set to three so if you wanted to bet on all the matches on the 9th for the challenge and wanted to have a second go at it on the next day you will be able to. Or you can just mix it up by choosing one or two for the first day then one for the next. It is completely up to you which six you choose from. This will be thought of for any future competitions in the other leagues so there will be more variety given.

Secondly, the free bet will be given to those who reach the highest amount of winning betslips.
So if there is someone who gets all three correct on the first day they will get the free bet.
If there is someone who gets all three correct on the second day they will get the free bet.
As mentioned in the OP there is a tiebreaker if there is any ties so to determine the winner of the third prize of the 1mbtc free bet.

Remember this is the first one of these held so we will see how it goes and work out any problems we might run into.

note: If there is just one person, they will get the free bet (only 1 free bet per forum user account), since there weren't any other challengers on the leaderboard to compete against. Wink

Good luck all who put in their entries.

Starting off this new competition started last week we had to move it to this weekend's selections due to the betbuilder feature being offered to these matches to the NFL playoff run.
But this thread will be for all future competitions in leagues from the NBA, NHL, NFL and any other professional ones requested.
So let's get it kicked off!

Here's the playoffs 2020/2021 bracket:

Some details of the teams being played:

Prizes will be given out to the first, second and third places who get the most wins on their betbuilder betslip consisting of 3 different matches on the playoff weekend.
Your bets must include a winner, total score (over/under), quarterback total passing yards(over/under) and number of touchdowns made by either quarterback via passing.
Tiebreaker will be determined by number of total passing yards being the closest if this is needed.
Posting a screenshot of your betslips for all 3 of the matches during the playoffs this weekend Jan 9/10th, is required to enter in the competition.
Minimum required amount for your betslip to qualify is 0.25mbtc no exceptions, so if your bet amount is not shown then your entry is disqualified.

Here are the matches to be used for this first beat the betbuilder competition offered by Sportsbet.io:

Prize amounts of 1mbtc for all winners in this competition to be paid in the form of freebets sent to their accounts.

Good luck all who wish to participate in this competition and thread!

Another ATH? I've lost count of how many during this year already.
I may be wrong, but this looks like, unless a large asteroid impacts the earth, or something like that, we are going to go very high without drastic corrections (40/50%) during this year.
This is the correction

It's been going on for the past hour. They stormed the senate and one guy was sitting on the head of the seat where pence was to sit. Chaos now.
I think tone vays is still streaming his visit to capitol hill. I don't know I stopped watching it as soon as it started broadcasting it on major news networks.
Insurrection had been determined to happen since June for this presidency.

Anybody knows if Strike app is for real for a regular Joe with a paycheck, or only for VIP personalities?
I am thinking of, maybe, converting 5-10% of my paycheck straight to btc each time.
Of course, i can simply buy on any exchange, then withdraw, but this seems to be much more convenient (as long as their spreads are decent).

https://payday.strike.me/

Apparently, it is Lightning-based.
It should be.
Only heard about it while watching a crypto youtuber and thought they said swipe at first but then explained what strike was.
Can't remember who it was either bitboy, tone vays or crypto zombie on their daily video from yesterday.
They are all tools so take what they say with a grain of salt. Wink
But strike app looks like a wise decision if you want to take out the middle man in a sense and not have them take a cut out of your pie. Smiley
4494  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 06, 2021, 06:44:56 PM
Just watching tone vays after party from yesterday's livestream and he is back to his old ways of being bearish. Saying he will be moving to mexico or something like this because of his countries covid restrictions. Also saying Canada is worst than the US in their terms of covid lockdowns.

Fuck Tone Vays.  Who cares what he thinks?  He has been wrong quite a bit.. that's for damn sure... just problematic to assign too much certainty to certain price directions.. but that's what traders do.. so I suppose he is just doing what he does.  I do appreciate his perspective on the vast majority of altcoins, calling them shitcoins.. so nothing wrong with that angle. and nothing really wrong with some of his analysis, so long as NOT too much weight is assigned to actual direction, especially since he has a tendency to overly call downity...

In regards to his politics.. seems like a big so fucking what.. he has a right to his political opinions - though seems like crazy for anyone to be following some of the outrageous conspiracy bullshit of recent times, and a lot of that stirred up by a narcissist who is trying to hold onto power so he does not get locked up.. if that is politically feasible to accomplish.. and the crook deserves it in spite of his followers who seem to be willing to follow him down any nutjob path.

This is what the price charts looked like this morning:

You must be looking at different charts from me, rdbase, or  at least you were exaggerating what the charts show.. .

Of course, quickie corrections are going to occur, and maybe even some of the corrections might last a bit longer.. but this one does not seem to be lasting for some strange reason... whatever, let's see where we might go from here.  Seems to be floating at the top of the range, even with yesterdays quickie correction... and even if we were to get stuck at the bottom of yesterday's correction (which was about $27,700), I would still be considering that we would be kind of ranging in the top of the range.. so the fact that we are back at $33k-ish seems more bullish than it even needs to be in order to be bullish.. so go try to figure that out?
Yeah well Mitch McConnell just denied orange man to overturn the election results.
So there you have it, he undeniably lost. So no more trying to use his power to squeeze out people in georgia like a mafia crimeboss.
Looks like Tone will be mad. Cheesy
He did say he was going to D.C with his bullet proof vest on before last night. Grin
He might not have escaped the rally with the proud boys leader getting arrested with firearms right before the rally. Roll Eyes

Bitcoin lives on at $35k.
4495  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sportsbook - $500k Holiday Giveaway! 🚀 🎰 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 🎲 on: January 06, 2021, 06:22:05 PM
Don't be fooled by the ranking system... there are some users who just played for a very long time and they ranked to Platinum by wagering over a very long time. There are also legal methods to rank up with minimum losses, if your goal is to rank up. (It will take much less funds, than just playing 3rd party Slots and losing tons of money)
On the other hand, Eddie (one of the owners) mentioned in one of his Streams that most of the Diamond players are from Russia and they have huge pockets.  Wink
I'm not fooled by the ranking system obviously, I use GDLE as an example because I know he is "REAL" High roller who can bet thousands of dollar in single bet.
I also say about platinum V and above level, it is not that easy to reach Platinum V although you are playing for very long time unless you are high rollers.
I have been here at Stake since the first day and playing regularly with small amount but I have not even reached Platinum 3.
It (to rank up) is not my main goal, I play here regularly because I like the site, I like the offered game, so if I'm ranked up and get some rewards then I'll consider it as a side bonus from my hobby of playing their games.
There is no fooling about the ranking system.
You bet what it is you bet whether that be on the casino platform or on the sportsbook. But it is much faster to bet on the sportsbook to achieve a higher ranking in the vip system as they offer you 3x your wagered amounts and since a month or so ago these amounts of 3x goes towards your participation the 24 hour race on that particular day.
There is a player who is streaming their progress to platinum V for the past four months by the name of jasminnavas.
They show you how they have ranked up so fast and the legit ways I have said before how to get there very quickly.
Just watch some of their videos on their twitch channel. The owner Eddie knows this player very well and have mentioned them on numerous occasions on the livestream during the megaraces.

Btw, the owner said he wouldn't be streaming the megarace this weekend due to travelling or something like this but the next one scheduled on January 16th would be from Serbia with Dustin the sportsbook moderator.

Yes but as steve had explained on the main Sportsbet.io ann thread, the prize is still above the amount in euros. Wink

Here are my selections for the week's multimasters as I have only two draws.
We will see how Man Utd fair against Man City in todays EFL Cup match and if they will have any more energy when they go up against Watford this weekend. Grin

Once again, best of luck to all who wish to participate in this round!

Why do you say this? Huh

I have been with them since January 30, 2019  over 2 years now and their sportsbook has been around for around a year and a half (from memory it started on Oct-Nov 2019) and have just received platinum level 1 ranking a year ago.
I am at close to 69% of receiving platinum level 2 so it shouldn't take too long now because of bitcoin's value rising up so rapidly.
It does take less time to rank up through the levels if you do bet on sports since it is 3x the level's percentage per bet placed as opposed to only casino wagers.
As someone has already mentioned.
And yes, there are legal methods to rank up with minimum losses incurred if you know what you are doing. Smiley
4498  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2020-12-30 Coindesk - VanEck Proposes ETF for Bitcoin, Once Again on: January 05, 2021, 04:25:40 PM

I don't know how it could be negative but I've seen some people be anti ETF.

I agree about the centralization being a problem.  One would hope that perhaps people would keep custody of their own coins, but one never knows.

They only have a negative effect on bitcoin's price when they fail to be approved as it had been for the last time(s) they have attempted to get it passed by the US senate last summer and the year before that.

From the post from Lucius, it is clear that any new proposal for the ETF is going to take many months (if not years) to get finalized. And after putting in so much time and effort, there is no guarantee that the SEC would approve it. But it is funny to see the SEC putting so many regulations and restrictions on anyone attempting to start a Bitcoin ETF, while PayPal had it relatively easy when they integrated Bitcoin to their platform.
Yeah only because paypal has the crypto stored in their own wallets and at the beginning they didn't allow you to send out your bitcoin to an external wallet. So whatever you bought from them, stayed in these custodial wallets located at paypal.
I don't know if this has changed since they first launched this option on their platform; being able to buy crypto from them, but this feature was a major subject which upset those who first purchased their bitcoin only to find out later on they couldn't do anything with it. Undecided
4499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Another attempt at Bitcoin ETF..You knew it was coming once BTC raised above ATH on: January 05, 2021, 04:08:41 PM
Looks like Vaneck is proposing another go at getting an ETF approved by the SEC and they just might get it since the recent wins by them against ripple and getting major exchanges to delist their tokens.

I think it gives them a sense of power of basically destroying xrp and any collaborations they once had with their backers.
