Decently entertaining fight.  I was really hoping that by some miracle Paul would knock that racist, woman beating, sub-human piece of shit Floyd out. Once again he's promoting a scam-coin w/EthereumMax.. how does this guy just get a pass for promoting these fn pozni's?!

Anyways, looking forward to his brothers match coming up.  I hope he gets destroyed.
4483  Economy / Collectibles / Re: .999 Silver Mona Coins and the Tokyo Virtual Date Story on: June 06, 2021, 02:10:36 PM
I think we were using skype they had a small tablet they took with them. Their phones over there too were way better than what we had over here. MSM messenger use to have the same function long before skype was popular.

The U.S. was behind in cell phone technology for years.  I used to buy my cellphones from Europe that would work on the bands here.   I once bought a Nokia phone that had Japanese symbols on the number pad.  Loved that phone and I was literally the only one I knew who had it so that was kinda cool lol.  I remember Europe (and apparently Japan/part of Asia) had cameras/video cameras several years before we got them.

I have seen several Monacoin beer bottles ( cant seem to locate the pics at the moment).

I know this maker.  His website - https://sakamotometal.tk//  He makes quite a few crypto coins.

He recently asked me what other coins I want to see made and I told him Monero and sent him some examples.  Hopefully he'll produce a few.

Very cool story, thanks for sharing! How did you virtually join them BTW, was it like over via Skype or something like that? (Just curious).  I’ve seen several monacoin coins, but not sure if I’ve seen this exact one. Do you have photos of the others? Would love to see them.

Here’s some stuff I’ve found..

4486  Economy / Collectibles / Re: ANACS no longer grading physical cryptos? on: June 02, 2021, 11:11:05 PM
I'm guessing they finally realized that they were grading and certifying crypto coins as being legitimate without any knowledge of the blockchain or whether or not people would take that as their certification that the coins were indeed loaded as claimed.  If someone slipped an unloaded coin through and got it certified then sold it as loaded to someone else, I could see that leading to a very costly backlash scenario for them...  I wondered when this horrible business model would finally be exposed.  Now I'm just curious what sort of complaint they received, how much it cost them, and if lawsuits were involved or it was settled privately.  On the plus side, their gradings were highly inconsistent anyway, so this is no real loss for the community.  I'd even argue we are better off, as buyers won't be bamboozled into paying inflated prices for coins that were sent in repeatedly until they received a high grade.

exactly, I had read somewhere back about six months ago where some coins got through the grading process but turned out to be counterfeits. I'm sure this could and may have led to a lawsuit. Maybe another service will put together a team one day that are crypto physical coin experts.

I will email and ask them. Grading a fake may not be that big of a deal to them if they are protected in their “bylaws”, kind of like NGC and ancient coins. They aren’t actually saying the ancient coins are legitimate and that they guarantee it, they are just grading/slabbing them. I believe this is all stated on their website somewhere and certainly in their contract. Does anyone know if ANACS was actually guaranteeing authenticity?

4491  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Pizza Day Raffle - We have our WINNERS on: May 23, 2021, 03:51:29 PM
I was unaware that Lazlo and satoshi had discussions prior to the pizza order. Lazlo was an early GPU miner and amassed a ton of BTC which made satoshi unhappy and he told Lazlo that the coins needed to be widely distributed for Bitcoin to be a success. Then we saw Lazlo order as many as 8 (I believe) pizzas afterward from community members in an effort to more widely distribute BTC.

The narrative should be changed from man spends ridiculous amount on pizza, to man selflessly distributes his BTC to avoid having too large a concentration of coins.

I think in total he spent around 35,000 bitcoins on 🍕. He shared one of his wallets to show this here on btalk.

Thanks for the raffle OP. Wish I had seen it sooner! Congrats to the winners.

It’s unfortunate that there are scumbag humans out there such as Duncan and his partners.  He is obviously well aware of what’s going on and refuses to acknowledge it nor make things right. I am having lunch with a good friend today who is a criminal lawyer and we plan to discuss this case. I will also be spending time the coming weeks finding all of their current projects and alerting people as to whom they are truly dealing with.

Prypto also authored the Bitcoin for Dummies book - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5316520.msg56323884#msg56323884

I appreciate your effort to expose and alert others of these pieces of human filth. Shoot me a DM and we can chat further about this if you’d like.
4494  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] Halvening Bitcoin coldkeys gold set on: May 18, 2021, 09:55:44 PM
everyone will sell at the right price, whats the offer?

Not a tonne of precedent in the current bitcoin climate, so I'll float $1450 paid in any crypto.

The #1 set sold at auction for 0.11BTC which is $5,000 today. So your offer is LOL.

At the time it was $1000 right

So the bitcoin on it is now worth $500, so $1450 is give or take a $1000 premium.
If someone is willing to pay $5000 for $500 of btc that's cool, but I won't be.

Not sure why this thread has felt so toxic, thought it was a reasonable scoping topic.

Yeah there’s some unnecessary comments being made here, and some are just being goofy and messing around. This is the right place to be to find this set. Don’t let this thread sour you though, it won’t be impossible to find..but these cards are highly desired and like with many of the collectibles here (and in many collectibles circles in general caused by the pandemic “im sitting at home bored out of my mind what can I start to collect”) it’s just not going to be very cheap anytime soon.  Cheers -Ty
4495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Elon Musk? Is he harmful or useful for Bitcoin? on: May 17, 2021, 11:35:05 AM
Elon Musk is Steve Jobs in large part. Fantastic marketer and businessman. Narcissistic scumbag of a person deep down and not smart enough to create or understand it all on his own . Proof - https://youtu.be/c-FGwDDc-s8 (I’m sick of posting it but people need to learn the truth).
4496  Economy / Speculation / Re: More individuals like Elon musk, the price might fall further. on: May 17, 2021, 11:27:14 AM
What other “influencers” are there that could have such an impact?

The only “influencers” anyone should be listing to are the cypherpunks. If Nick Szabo says bitcoin is bad, then worry.
4497  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Kialara 2015 #177/250 Unfunded on: May 17, 2021, 09:02:11 AM
Interested, but ..
Still need to let us know you accept escrow (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0 ) , plus as DWolf said above, and as I’ve reposted below, you should prove ownership  (when you’re new you gotta go the extra few steps to provide legitimacy, if not you won’t get the interest that you could otherwise, if any at all. Nothing personal).

2. Post a picture of the item you want to sell, along with your username and date/Block height next to the item. This helps to verify you actually have the item you want to sell. If you are new to the forum, post the picture at imgur.com and provide a link or use BBCode to post.  Don't worry if your picture does not show up in the post. Someone with a rank higher than 'newbie' will likely add it to the thread in the following posts for you.

4499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Free falling Bitcoin on: May 17, 2021, 06:30:55 AM
My oh my! Since a few days back my blood pressure has being spiking higher and higher, seeing the price of Bitcoin doing a freefall. I know its prudent for an investor not to panic when the market falling, but I can't help myself starting to panic. I believe that it'd be sensible for me to sell all of my Bitcoins and wait for a suitable time to reinvest.

You haven’t lost anything until you sell. Once you sell you no longer have the opportunity to grow that same bitcoin value back to where it was pre-Elon nonsense. Most people who sell in down markets end up waiting too long to get back in as well, therefore the vast majority would have been far better off weathering the storm.

It sounds like your portfolio needs restructuring. I’d recommend reading my write up here (and GMaxwell’s post which is the last in the thread. Of note: he’s a legit cypherpunk/former btc Dev) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288768.msg55577767#msg55577767
4500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk on Twitter: "Chihuahua." The Sheep: "We Love You Elon, BTC is Dying!" on: May 17, 2021, 06:22:07 AM
Elon Musk is in large part a fraud, and I embarrassingly didn’t realize it until just watching this - https://youtu.be/c-FGwDDc-s8

Just watched this and part 2 earlier today and it was spot on.

This charade has been going on for decades, and the cult of Tesla are to blame for supporting him.

It's a shame so many have to idolize someone with paper wealth (probably net negative with the loans against his stock), as they don't have the confidence to think for themselves.

I didn’t buy in to his doge trolling but I did the bitcoin “love” a little bit. You’re right though. it’s funny how many people follow him and or Twitter “experts” for crypto advice but have absolutely no clue who Nick Szabo, Hal Finney, Back, etc are. For a long time Trevon James and other bitconnect promoters had far more followers on there than Andreas antonopoulos did, for reference of how dumb and lazy people are.
