4481  Other / Archival / Re: Jordan Peterson BTC Donations on: January 05, 2019, 05:27:41 PM
Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson has made $800 in five days after choosing to begin accepting Bitcoin (BTC) donations for his work.

It's not much for someone like him. It's a good thing but I saw an interview with him where he claimed to be earning more than 80000 dollars a year from all the donations and speeches that he's giving and he's selling his book that more or less doubles it. Someone who gets more than 10 thousand a month won't even blink when he receives another 1 thousand a week in crypto donations.
4482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Bitcoin fundamentals getting stronger or weaker? on: January 05, 2019, 05:21:08 PM
It really depends what you would call fundamentals.  Bitcoin doesn't have the same "fundamentals" that investors would consider when talking about a business, so it's a bit difficult to decide what Bitcoin's equivalent might be.

Arguably aspects of it like transaction fees and mining difficulty aren't really fundamentals because the underlying system is the same, in which case what is there left to analyse?

It's not that hard to define Bitcoin fundamentals. Technicals concentrate on the price, volume, capitalization. Fundamentals measure use cases, recognition, popularity, adoption, development and many other things.

Addresses and wallets, mined coins, network speed, laws in various countries, institutional interest. All these things continue to grow so we can say that fundamentals are getting stronger.
4483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Implant microchip- Bitcoin wallet? on: January 05, 2019, 04:56:33 PM
Although many people are afraid of it, this is what the future will look like. If you have a chip implanted under your skin it will be easy to find you if you get lost or kidnapped, you will have all your documents like ID, driver's license, with you at all times. The chip will allow you to be identified even if you die in a fire or something. A great thing if you ask me.
4484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yearly All Time Lows For BTC on: January 05, 2019, 04:51:10 PM
2 things strike me in this thread. The first one is that everybody quotes OP like a parrot. What is wrong with you people?
The second one is the 2015 lows that are lower than 2014 lows. Does that mean 2019 lows will be lower than 2018? If the history repeats itself we are in for another crash.
4485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new pro-cryptocurrency bill written by members of the US Congress WILL PASS! on: January 05, 2019, 04:48:05 PM
It would be a good thing and I also agree they will pass it. Bitcoin isn't like stocks and it isn't a private investment fund. There should be no capital gains tax paid and only income tax when Bitcoins are sold or exchanged for goods.

Many countries around the world have it this way and the US shouldn't continue to stick to some ancient rules established in times when nobody knew about computers.
4486  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-0-03] Bitcoin is worth nothing and Backed by Nothing. Really? on: January 04, 2019, 11:24:35 PM
I use Bitcoin almost on a daily basis, and I noticed around me that some people actually prefer to be paid in Bitcoin rather than PayPal or whatever else.

I wanted to pay someone $100 through PayPal recently and couldn't complete the transfer because my balance wasn't enough due to the $7 fee it wanted to charge me. I had to top up my balance to complete the transaction because the other side didn't wan't to deal with anything other than PayPal.

This is something where Bitcoin shines, and I am certain that it will attract more and more users as PayPal & Co don't think it's necessary to lower their fees.

It's even worse if you are transferring money to someone who uses a different currency. They take fees and exchange rates into account and there are additional fees for them exchanging the money at their rates. As a result if you send 1000 dollars to someone who uses euro you can expect to lose at least $50. At the same time a Bitcoin transaction will cost you less than $10 if you include exchange fees.
4487  Economy / Speculation / Re: People who bought BITCOIN at $1000 are now starting to sell, CCN article writes on: January 04, 2019, 11:14:10 PM
I think most people have already sold bitcoin which bought it at a price of $ 1000 per coin. Most likely it is sold by people who bought it more expensive and can not withstand the drawdown. Most people now think how to buy it at a good price but no one knows what the price for it is favorable. Now bitcoin has stabilized and there are only two scenarios: up or down.

Yeah, I agree. It is difficult to predict the market at this moment. However, I think many people who bought Bitcoin at $ 1000 (or around this price) have already sold during the last month, when the price seemed to go below $ 3000.

This assumption is baseless and not very smart. Many of those who bought at 6 or 5 thousand did not sell because they didn't want to acknowledge a loss. Why would people who bought at 1000 suddenly become so scared. If I had a 1000 dollar bitcoin I wouldn't sell at 2 or 3 thousand because I'm a believer and I'd do anything to get more fiat to buy, even if I had to borrow.
4488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Hodling Coins!!! on: January 04, 2019, 10:51:57 PM
There are no coins in my investment portfolio, which I am ready to hold for several years. It seems to me that the cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable.

It only means that you're too scared and you don't see the potential in some of those projects.

I'm holding many coins and I don't agree with OP that it's lazy. If you believe in a project and know a lot about it you can value it based on its fundamentals. I wouldn't hold a coin that doesn't do anything and is not innovative like BCH or BSV. They are both bullshit coins. Bitcoin on the other hand is going to be huge and whoever holds it will be laughing at this thread next year.
4489  Economy / Speculation / Re: January...The Next Few Weeks Will Be Crucial on: January 04, 2019, 10:46:43 PM
ETF was delayed so many times that people are tired of it and will not overreact if it gets postponed again. I know that SEC will not be able to delay it anymore but a denial will mean another delay because I don't think they will give up after that. They will make amends and file again and we will start all over and get delayed for another year. Boring!
4490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Max Keiser Says Bitcoin Will Become the World’s Reserve Currency on: January 04, 2019, 10:34:21 PM
Max is a stock market doom preacher. If his preaching comes true and there is a total meltdown there's a high chance Bitcoin will become the safe haven for hedge funds and burned stock traders. But what if it doesn't happen and stocks don't dive? Bitcoin is still very cheap but if it became a reserve currency we wouldn't be talking about going over 20 but 200 thousand or more.
4491  Economy / Economics / Re: Stock Market Will Have ‘Good Year’ in 2019: Wharton Finance Prof. on: January 03, 2019, 11:07:01 PM
This should probably be in the press section.

If this year becomes good for crypto it will be in the second half. We are coming close to another halving and Bitcoin used to turn bullish before the halving so the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 should be really good. It's going to be funny if we don't get a textbook capitulation this time and just turn bullish out of pure boredom.
4492  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: You can SHOP at Amazon and eBay with BITCOIN on: January 03, 2019, 10:57:27 PM
What version of Amazon are you supporting? Amazon.com is different from Amazon.uk and Amazon.de. I have an account on Amazon.de and my balance can't be transferred to Amazon.com. It's important that you make it clear which site is supported by your site. Usually people use only one of the Amazon stores. I don't own any USD and I'm not interested in Amazon.com.

We are very young project and at this moment we support Amazon.co.uk and we deliver from UK to the listed 36 countries currently supported (we plan to increase this number)

Still we are working towards the expansion of our services to other countries vendors and we will inform you when Amazon.com or .de is available. Meanwhile you can order items from Amazon.co.uk and we will arrange delivery to your country if its in the currently supported countries list: https://bitstore.tech/countries

If you want, you can register on our website to stay up to date with our news and announcements.

Thanks for the answer, much appreciated. It's actually fine because Purse covers the US version of the store, so supporting Amazon UK won't make you compete with them and should be an attractive option for EU clients. Good luck with your project!
4493  Economy / Speculation / Re: The truth about the 20k bitcoin last year on: January 03, 2019, 10:45:07 PM
Lets face it- BTC is total worthless- its garbage and you cant use it for anything
now prove me wrong, lol

What happened to that attitude?

buy and hold

Why would we want to prove you wrong? You are obviously here to troll the members of this forum.
If you really bought and held in late 2017 and are now regretting it means that you were one of those people who wanted a get rich quick scheme and got wrecked.

4495  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-01] Breaking: Bakkt Raises $182 Million, What it Means for the State on: January 02, 2019, 09:10:03 PM
We shouldn't depend on Bakkt and ETF or await it like a savior. Bitcoin will bottom even without it. Maybe 3000 was that low price you were waiting for and missed it. Bakkt and ETF will happen sooner or later. Don't get to excited now because they can keep delaying it for many months and if you get to excited you will overreact when you hear bad news. I'm sure my coins will be worth more after the next halving and I know Wall Street money is already here buying the dips. Back to reality people!
4496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the obstacle of Bitcoin? on: January 02, 2019, 09:00:55 PM
Dependence on technology and many people are technological newbies. Especially older people don't use online banking with many not having Internet access. It looks like an obstacle now but really isn't. When the new smartphone generation matures it will find using cryptocurrencies as natural as registering for an email account.
4497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is less stable than some ALTs ! on: January 02, 2019, 08:53:16 PM
I think choosing only 2 alts to compare to bitcoin wouldn't give a much accurate comparison. There are a lot of other altcoins out there who couldn't even survive the severe bear market and they are dead now. I still think altcoins are more volatile than bitcoin.

You are right. Some altcoins have no volatility because nobody is trading them. You can find many altcoins with very low volume and price traded on some manipulative exchanges like yobit and compare them to Bitcoin to prove a point. It won't mean anything. In general altcoins are more volatile than Bitcoin because they depend on Bitcoin and on themselves. Exceptions can always be found but they don't disprove the general rule.
4498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of Keys / Proof of Trust / Bitcoin Independence Day on: January 02, 2019, 08:46:36 PM
I already did that. I don't keep my coins on exchanges and I don't even have to participate in this Independence Day event because I'm participating all the time. If someone wants to trade and feels confident keeping coins on centralized exchanges it's his choice. There's so much manipulation and scams that if you don't hold your keys you will sooner or later get robbed. And that's a fact!
4499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Blockchain technology could be used for registration of land or property? on: December 30, 2018, 09:29:17 PM
It could be! Blockchain records are safe and unerasable which is great if you need to store any important documentation like laws, proofs of ownership, private documents like IDs, and you don't have to pay for being able to see it. All property documents should be made easily accessible. Many countries are making databases for it where you can find a piece of land on the map and check who the owner is. It's an important tool for people who are looking to buy or sell.
4500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Still Hodling?? Only acumulating btc for me on: December 30, 2018, 09:24:21 PM
I'm holding very little altcoins. I have some ETH, BCH and SV. I got most of it for free and I'm still ready to wait for them to enter bull market. I don't like BCH or SV but i also don't want to sell anything in this bear market. There's still big reversal in the air. I also have bitcoin rhodium that was airdropped earlier this year.
