4481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KUCOIN Hacked on: October 02, 2020, 09:14:25 AM
I always tell anyone not to keep all assets on any exchange because of the risk of losing them in case of a hack even if it is a top platform like Kucoin or Binance. yes, maybe they can cover up all the lost user assets but still keeping assets on the platform is very risky. and for this I hope Kucoin will soon tighten the security of assets and this can be used as a lesson not to store assets on the exchange.
It is never recommended that you and others keep all crypto assets on an exchange because it is very risky. I think all trader know this risk, but they do it anyway because they are active in day trading and control their asset every day.

I only remember a few tips in crypto and they are really worth considering and implementing to increase asset security. "Not your key, not your asset", "Don't keep the eggs in one basket, because if he falls all the eggs will break".
4482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do think about skill games? on: October 02, 2020, 07:59:33 AM
If you analysis the poll, there are 76% votes for the skills games while there are only 23% votes in favor of traditional slot games.
Even though the poll results show that people favor the skill games over the traditional luck based games but the reality is that most of the gambling games are only luck based.
Of course, because without luck, no matter how good you have gambling skill, you will not win the bet. If you bet without luck then all bet will end in losing without a win. Luckily for those who can win large bet and even jackpot, however I prefer no-skill slot or traditional slot.
4483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good Morning from a Non-Bitcoiner on: October 01, 2020, 08:35:14 PM
Some people are very secretive about what they do to earn extra income and this include cryptocurrencies. I am not the only person around my workplace who know about cryptocurrency, although we often meet and chat but I never knew that he had known many thing about bitcoin since 2015. To be precise in 2018 I accidentally asked his interest in investing. I offered him crypto investment and I was surprised that he was there earlier than me. This proves that some people don't want to tell other what they are doing and because cryptocurrency is money security is a concern too. We never know who will have bad intentions against us when it comes to wealth and valuable asset, and it's important to take care of ourselves and our safety.
4484  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Password Spray Attack vs Brute Force Attack on: September 25, 2020, 06:00:34 PM
Regardless of the type of attack used by hackers, I think it has a dangerous level for every user. It is possible that this spray attack is not effective enough to hack crypto, but it is possible that this attack could affect the security of forum accounts.
I believe many users create forum accounts using weak and easy passwords. This can increase the security risk of unsecured accounts such as 2FA / authenticator. What most forum users do to make their account safe and strong is create strong and strong password and sign bitcoin messages.

There is nothing wrong with worrying about something if it can make us safer. If our forum account, crypto assets and other valuable asset can be accessed via the internet, then security is of utmost importance.
4485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: September 25, 2020, 04:12:29 PM
Understanding Bitcoin is little bit complicated for the users who aren't much used to technology/computers. With the continued development people find it easy to use as more number of user friendly wallets and other service applications are available. Based on the briefing about cryptocurrency, there'll be difference in understanding. Self learning is the best choice to know about bitcoin after getting little basics from a known person.
It is complicated ? Yes and many people admit it. I don't think that everyone who uses bitcoin should have any technical knowledge about it. As an effort to simplify, bitcoin is a cryptocurrency whose use can pay for anything with the consent of both parties. I didn't study bitcoin technically, but I just took advantage of its functions like currency and trading assets.
4486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH 2.0 And High Transaction Fees.. on: September 25, 2020, 04:01:47 PM
The thing is, if the high fee still unresolved after 2.0 and people slowly leaving eth, the high fee problem will solve itself and the fee will become normal again since there's no traffic. What we expect from ETH is to somehow come up with a solution to solve the scalability problem for mass adoption but whether ETH 2.0 gonna solve it or not one thing is for sure that ETH not gonna die.
The scalability issue had to be resolved quickly by ethereum developers as it would never be good if the price of gas was too high to be charged to sender for every transaction. Ethereum V2 may be a solution that can minimize gas prices, but the expansion of the defi project will continue to affect the network and will make it even more congested. The same thing might happen, congestion and expensive fee.

Ethreum will not be abandoned by users as an investment and trading asset, but as an altcoin that can be used as a peer to peer payment instrument, I think it will slightly affect its function.

4488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 25, 2020, 03:07:01 PM
After Edouard Mendy move from Rennes to Chelsea, Chelsea are considering to move their out of form goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan in this summer transfer window. Given the performance he has given so far I have doubt anyone would be interested in Kepa. Better move out on loan to see if he can still show signs of improvement.

(Source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8770537/Chelsea-ready-send-flop-Kepa-loan-Lampard-finally-replaces-Edouard-Mendy.html)

I am interested in hearing some Chelsea fans reaction to this.
I like Kepa being given the opportunity until the end of the season even though he has to be on the bench. He's a great goalkeeper and he has a lot to accomplish with him. Of course, every player does not always have the same performance and cant be at the top forever. The arrival of another goalkeeper certainly will not make him happy and does not rule out the possibility that he will have to forcibly leave Chelsea on loan. Based on the news I read, it is rumored that he will become one of the Serie A players and I don't know where the club is going.
4489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What old coins are you still holding? on: September 25, 2020, 10:00:05 AM
I am sure that people will never be interested in using coin that are not on the market even if the network can still be used. When coin can be used as a mean of peer-to-peer transactions then people will want the price and if not then it is very difficult to get development. Market support is very important for any type of coin so that the developer can develop his project because it has financial capabilities.

For the old altcoin, I think some of them are still developing. It's just that developer need a lot of capital to restart project that were lagging behind. Getting the trust of investor is the most important thing they have to do and then they can try to release the altcoin on the market and get the community back through various program.
4490  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Newbie Should be Careful When Received New Follower From Famous Bitcoiner on: September 25, 2020, 03:38:08 AM
In my opinion, scammer followed you to know your habit and activity then they will think to create a trap which you like.

So be careful, don't let spying you, the best way is reporting into twitter and blocking the fake.
Of course, but I dont think you need to worry about that because I am sure you will never easily trust anyone trying to ask you to post something in a social media conversation regarding bitcoin and other cryptocurrency asset. I agree that new users are those who should raise awareness about these kinds of thing as they may be affected by the traps set by fraudsters. I haven't used Twitter for a long time, there are a lot of new followers, but I never found it suspicious because I didn't respond to anything.

Anyway, thank you for sharing and it's a warning to everyone to be more careful about anything on social media. Scammers can do anything on social media without us knowing it and one of them is using fake account and trapping unlucky people.
4491  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid 19 shows how weak People are in the it mind on: September 24, 2020, 05:53:09 PM
I believe that Covid-19 has both positive and negative impacts. I think we all know that Covid is a virus that can threaten anyone's life, but because of that many people can do more work and make it their new business field.
Financial benefits are not only felt by people who are directly affected by Covid or who are not affected by it, but in my opinion everyone feels it too, including from the government. Covid is now turning into a business field, and we often hear that cases of death are manipulated. The current government seems to ignore people's feelings, they only think of new ideas so they can get other assistance. Really, really hard to believe.
4492  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who sets the bitcoin price? on: September 24, 2020, 04:55:27 PM
They say no one control the price of Bitcoin but apparently it is not true because whales could make total changes upon the price.
No, the whales cant control the price but they can only play with it for their own benefit. Nobody can control the price of bitcoin and it is clearly determined by the activity of the trader. Because bitcoin is a very volatile asset, anyone who has a lot of capital can look for loopholes to get multiple profit. Nobody want to lose, and often the activity of the whales can negatively impact the price of bitcoin but only temporarily before they react again.
4493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks Launder $2 Trillion While Claiming BTC Is For Money Laundering? on: September 24, 2020, 04:11:23 PM
The only reason they're pointing fingers is to attempt to stop Bitcoin.
Just a series of experiment, but they never worked. I believe the government will not allow bitcoin to damage the economy, but we (the bitcoin community) already have a power that can cause fear in the government as well as the economy with bitcoin.
So far, the government seem to only see bitcoin as a criminal tool that can harm a country, but in fact they have also failed to stop similar cases with fiat. It doesnt make sense for the government to want to stop bitcoin just because it can be used by criminal, and I think there is an interest factor in that. Not a good idea.

I'd bet you anything that more than half of the wealthy ones have earned their money at one point the less legal way. So have politicians and so many other well-known people.
I can assure you that you will win that bet. Wink
Its an open secret and the whole country can do it.
4494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 23, 2020, 07:05:44 AM
It is very surprising to see Arsenal on the top 3!
That is not surprising as everything is still quite early and has only won two of the two game. I am only amazed by the achievement of Leicester City who are quite productive in scoring goal so far in the League which make them occupy first place in the standing.

It is still too soon to decide that a team that failed to achieve good result in the first two game is a team that will not be able to compete until the end of the season in a league like Chelsea. Even though they lost the second match, I think they'll be back in action in the next game. I dont doubt their capacity in the Liga as one of the big team, but thing can still change if a team fail to play consistently to win every game.
4495  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How you can earn money from bitcointalk.org? on: September 23, 2020, 05:34:35 AM
As long as we can contribute positively to the forum, bounties and signature campaign are not prohibited. Even if someone can contribute, there is a chance of getting the chance to join and promote the best campaign on forum like Chipmixer and other.

I admit that following the autograph campaign can help me become one of the many user who have the opportunity to move up the rank of hero member from senior member. That is so much better than me having to stick to bounty campaign which consist mostly of scam project without being paid anything.

Faucet and trading have led me to forum recommended by friend. However, I was interested in several bounties which at that time still produced something to be enjoyed as a way to increase capital in my trading activities. However over several period my many post were very far from useful and the quality was still too low, even so I still had a chance to reach senior rank before the merit system was implemented. My thought and desire to study were higher after the merit system existed, because if I didnt, I would be left behind and could never reach this point. To be honest, without a merit system I probably wouldnt be able to improve the quality of my post because I could only reach my weekly quota. As for now and in the future, I just want to make this forum the main mean or place to gain knowledge, especially about bitcoin and so on.
4496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright To Face Trial on: September 22, 2020, 02:10:21 PM
Raft upstream, swim to shore, play first, then stress later. LOL

That seem to be what Craig Wright will go through with the end result of the debate over bitcoin he claim. So far he has not been able to prove anything about the claim as he can only speak with the help of his lawyer. If he is right then he can prove anything about $11 billion bitcoin in court or at least he can transfer 1 of all bitcoin. I thought he was just lying because he didnt have the key.
4497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: September 21, 2020, 06:01:11 PM
~~~
All in all, old people can understand Bitcoin if they're willing to put some attention to it. Always remember: "where there's a will, there's a way".
The adage is true.
I am not interested in getting the people around me to know bitcoin, especially those over 50 years old. Even though they still have the ability to know more about something, their trust and confidence about online investing has weakened especially for high risk asset like bitcoin.
While many people around me also dont believe in cryptocurrency investing system because they believe more in gold and property. So this is another reason why I am not interested in telling them more about bitcoin and its investment system.
4498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: September 20, 2020, 05:11:37 PM
This season I am still loyal to support Manchester City as the strongest candidate for the Premier League winner. 18 votes at once proves that I am not alone with City. Guardiola has a great chance of winning the Premier League title from Liverpool this season because throughout the season they will not compete in the Champion League. This is the best chance for him to become the best coach.
Even though they havent played a single match so far, but their inaugural match against Wolverhampton Wanderers will be proof that they are a candidate for the championship this season and I firmly believe City will win.
Meanwhile Liverpool excelled in their second match over Chelsea. Recently Chelsea failed to reduce the deficit through a penalty and the score was still 0-2 for Liverpool victory.
4499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greatest Gambling Losers on: September 18, 2020, 03:45:45 PM
Although the list is not the most recent, but until now it remain clear evidence that anyone can go bankrupt in gambling even though they were previously wealthy people. I dont think they thought too much about how much money was spent in the beginning, but the further they went, the more eager they became to make up for the losses until they went broke without realizing it. Really this is not the best way to gamble.
As of now this campaign has been put on PAUSE. This means you can remove your Signature & Avatar and await further notice, if it continues you will have first dibs for ~24 hours to get your spot back.
Thank you Hhampuz for a great few weeks, waiting for the good news about this campaign.
