I chose "less than a day" because it very seldom crosses any resistance (or support) point without at least a little back-and-forth.
Once it has seriously crossed $700 for more than a day, we probably won't see sub-$700 again, barring some unforeseen calamity like an exchange hack or as yet undiscovered vulnerability.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Still in the $680s I see... about $688 according to Bitcoinaverage.
We're in our second day of sideways consolidation, hopefully getting ready for a weekend rise past $700.
At least we seem to be holding on to this weeks increases. Touch wood!

I hope it could be the fourth bubble.
4th bubble? The first was obviously the great bubble of June 2011. Then there were the two lesser bubbles of March and November 2013. Don't you count November 2015 and June 2016 as bubbles?

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Still maintaining most of yesterday's gains. Down just a wee... $684 on Bitcoinaverage.
Hopefully we're just catching our breath, trying not to go up too fast, and we'll continue our steady rise up past $700 and beyond.

I'm not a trader as such, but my worst decision was to leave bitcoins at an exchange (MtGox) instead of keeping them safely offline in "paper" wallets.
That cost me 50btc. Needless to say, I won't make that mistake again.
Similar to above I lost all my bitcoin (at the time)n holding it on Bitcoinica. Never trusted an exchange since Luckily I only lost about a third of mine at the time. I've managed to more than replace them since, buying the most during the deep dips in January and August of 2015 and mining a few before that. That raised the average price I paid from about $120 (CAD) to about $200 including the ones I bought this year. No regrets though. Live and learn. Today my $200 bitcoins are worth $900 each and they're much more securely held.

I realize this is a USD/BTC thread but Canadians might like to hear that we just passed 900 CAD per BTC according to Bitcoinaverage.

Wow. I just looked in on Huobi in time to see a nice rise happen before my very eyes, then switched back to Stamp to see it follow. Fun.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still creeping up I see... $669 0n Bitcoinaverage. Let's keep this rise nice and steady. No skyrocket and fizzle, just a smooth ramp up. Okay, I realize there's no smooth ramp with Bitcoin but at least we can hope for a less extreme roller coaster.

It says 4500 Jimbo! K thousand?
Etalia's post said 4500k btc. That's 4.5M btc. That's why I assumed it was a typo.

Good AM Bitcoinland. Still in the $650s at Bitcoinaverage... $658 to be precise. Looks like we're back in sideways mode again. Can someone explain why dump 4500K BTC on the market with such slippage. Where did you see this dump? 4.5 million bitcoins? That's over a quarter of all the coins mined to date. Assuming that was a typo and (s)he meant 4500 btc, I still don't see it. Even that amount in a single market sell on a zero-fee Chinese exchange would have caused considerable slippage, which I don't see. I'm curious too.

Where is Adam??
JJG says he talked to him a while back and Adam said he was hacked and locked out. Hasn't bothered to reclaim his account. I wish he'd do something about it. I miss his absurd humor and drunken shenanigans. Also, the poll desperately needs changing.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Still holding in the $650s... $655 to be exact (Bitcoinaverage). Page 16000...? I guess congrats are in order - if this post manages to stay here I don't think it's a big thing any more. Remember page 10000? People were jockeying for days, posting and deleting to try to get on the landmark page. How long has page 16000 been up? Over 16 hours and still going? Ho hum.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
I see a pleasant little rise today... currently $652 on Bitcoinaverage.
No big deal but a small step in the right direction. Go Bitcoin go.

Good morning Bitcoinland. Dipped a dime, I see... all the way down to $631 on Bitcoinaverage. Overall, things are looking pretty good though.

Good morning Bitcoinland.
Nothing much changed over the weekend... still a little over $640.
Meanwhile this thread has slowed down to a trickle. Maybe when we start the inevitable climb up to a new ATH, this place will wake up again.

Cheers bitcoinland
Cheers.

When this thread was started a little over 2 weeks ago, bitcoins were worth about $600. Now they're worth about $640.
Either OP's original estimate was a little too high or the time frame too short, but not by much. Give it a couple more weeks. _______
I'm amazed with $660 in the thread title, nobody mentioned $666 (until now that is!).
As a noted Nobel laureate once said, "the times they are a-changing".

I personally don't consider big drops "wonderful". While I appreciate buying opportunities, I'd rather see wonderful big rises.
That said, it seems to me that we've already had our big drops, from $32 to $2, from $266 to less than $60, from over $1100 to less than $200 and from $780 to less than $470 including the Finex hack.
Luckily, the big rises are bigger than the big drops.
While no one can predict the future price, I would hazard to guess that the next big drop won't happen until after we've set a new, substantially higher ATH. A drop back down to high triple digits would then be a "wonderful" big drop and buying opportunity.
