I don't think that bounties are generally enforceable. In an informal bounty like this without specific language to the contrary, the bounty creator retains sole control over who receives the bounty, even if the community disagrees with him. So I don't think that xDeathwing is obligated to pay anything, though due to the confusion and small amount of money involved, he probably should pay 0.5. I removed him as a moderator because this is all a bit shady, and his conduct in this thread leads me to believe that he is too reckless/careless to be a good moderator, not because I believe him to be guilty of scamming in this case. He is no longer a moderator. I don't give out scammer tags anymore except in extraordinary cases. You can use the trust system. How did this guy become staff anyway? Was this Theymos's doing?

Secondly, since theymos has basically washed his hands with this allowing xDeathwing to set the precedence, we can now all list bounties and change the amount offered after the requirements have been met, using the, "I was just joking!" excuse. If it works for a well-respected mod, it should work for us common users. Here's the deal: If xDeathwing doesn't pay up the remaining 0.45 BTC owed within 24 hours, I will pay it. But, I don't think that'll be in the best interest of this community. xDeathwing obviously isn't going pay $60 to sitnicki. As it stands, xDeathwing may get a scammer tag and sitnicki only got 10% of what he was owed. But if the two can negotiate an amount that xDeathwing can pay, and sitnicki is happy with, and they'll both end up in a better position. As i said, 0.5 was a keyboard slip, then i made it joke.
That's a pretty lame excuse. Imagine if BFL/Avalon said "delivery on December 2013 or your money back!", but later changed it to December 2016 and claimed it was a "typo". XDeathWing why dont you just send another 0.2. In my eyes that should make some-what fair (not really) and also that software he made is AMAZING...
