Yes, currently any posts anywhere count or contribute to activity, but making low quality posts almost exclusively in off topic or politics & society is a good way to get your account banned pretty quickly. Some campaigns also wont accept you if the majority of your posts are in such boards (though crapcoin campaigns wont care).
4502  Other / Meta / Re: Decreasing my posts daily. Please help me? on: October 27, 2017, 07:21:43 AM
Because you're making incredibly poor posts in very unsubstantial threads that have all been trashcanned.

Hello.
When your post is deleted, an inbox message arrives in the forum, look if there is something like this.
If I'm not mistaken, you get message only when your post in self-moderated thread was deleted. Otherwise you will not get message.

You get the warning when staff remove the posts, but you don't get them if an entire thread is sent to the trash.
4503  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie to Newbie: What is a genuine "Hello" vs "PM Spam"? on: October 27, 2017, 05:27:31 AM
Well that probably all depends on whether the recipient feels it's unsolicited spam or not. If they report the PM then it will be up to a Staff member to decide. If in doubt I would advise against sending it but that's up to you. If you're just going to say hi to try get them to check out something you're promoting then it'll likely eventually be seen as spam by someone and reported.
4504  Other / Meta / Re: Account related to a business stolen, made in 2011, post deleted, yhomega on: October 25, 2017, 05:29:32 PM
If you haven't changed your password since the October 2013 forum hack then that's almost certainly how. You'll probably have to contact theymos about having your posts or messages restored.
4505  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: October 25, 2017, 05:13:51 PM
There is no limit, but if you continue to just make low-quality one liner posts just to rank up as quickly as possible you're liable to have your account banned.
4506  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Uk advice please on: October 25, 2017, 04:11:10 PM
Hello all, would love some decent advice on exchanges and withdrawals to UK banks. It seems to be a mine field. I am on coinbase but every other day they stop me buying or selling and to contact there support (yeah rite! have you ever tried to get help from coinbase)  so any other good platforms i can use that you can withdraw from

I'm from the UK. Coinbase is the worst exchange I've ever used. My money was stuck on there for 4+ months and I didn't receive a single response from support even after 10+ messages. Kraken is pretty simple to use and I've had no problems so far. Withdrawls take about 3 working days and verification was very quick. You could also use Localbitcoins if you're just wanting to sell and cash out bitcoins or even the Currency Exchange board here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0
4507  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: October 25, 2017, 01:52:34 PM
basically activities = comments?

Basically, no. You can only get 14 activity every two week period. So you will get 14 activity up until 14 posts but no more until the new period regardless of how many posts you make. You could make 300 posts and you will still only have 14 activity. In the next period you will then get another 14 and so on.

You need to follow the instructions there. If you post the signed message here your account can be unlocked but you'll need to PM cyrus to have it restored.
4509  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: October 25, 2017, 01:26:54 PM
According to my extimations I should have become Full Member yesterday, but nothing has happened, my activity didn't change, it didn't move from 112. This is starting to be a mystery for me, since I thought I had understood how it works.

Why don't you actually read what I just wrote above? You never even made a post in the new activity period yesterday. You idiots are so impatient for your activity to update you won't even wait an hour before you start to panic.
4510  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: October 25, 2017, 12:54:23 PM
No, not until you make a new post in that period. The above post is your first post in the new period so now you have to wait for it to update.

I was already wonderin why it hasn't increased for me for a very long time. But what if you don't post every single day. There are days that I don't post. Does this nullify the other day's activities?

I think you should at least post once weekly for you to be able to get the additional 14 activities every 2nd Tuesday. If ever you miss a post in a week, I think you will not receive an addition 14 activities. Anyway, any excess on your posts will be directly credited after two weeks.

Not true. It's once every fortnightly period, so no need to post every week (though I wouldn't advise just making one post because if it gets deleted so will your activity).
4511  Other / Meta / Re: Hesabım Kilitlendi!/ my account locked on: October 25, 2017, 11:40:13 AM
Two weeks passed, why is not it taken care of?

Im going to go out on a limb and suggest it is because you are full of shit.

You have either stolen this account, or bought a stolen account.

You're probably right.

You also seem to have quite the S&M fetish for people defecating prickly objects:

I hope your next turd is a hedgehog.

I hope your next turd is a pineapple.

Contact cyrus with as much proof as possible. I wouldn't hold your breath though, but accounts have been restored with proof other than a signed address before but it is your best bet if you can find one you posted somewhere.
4513  Other / Meta / Re: Account related to a business stolen, made in 2011, post deleted, yhomega on: October 25, 2017, 11:30:37 AM
Hello
October 13  2017 my password and email have been changed on account "yhomega".
a bunch of my post have been deleted, I belive only the old post couldn't be deleted.
https://www.bitboat.net/fr I work here, here is the topic I started a while back. My real name is mentioned
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=523835.msg15644359#msg15644359
Please urgently lock my account, and if possible I would like to recover it!
I haven't post any adress I could sign, maybe in PM but I'm not sure.
Thanks for your help

If you can't follow the instructions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

You'll have to provide some other form or proof, but an address is the preferred method and only way to guarantee a recovery (or account locking). If an old post has been deleted admins can restore them. Addresses sent via PM can sometimes be used as well.
4514  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: October 25, 2017, 08:52:21 AM
According to the data published on this table:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12saLhlUoqIdairxzuSPu6EYGrt7FN2lOstO1yDjCEbA/edit#gid=1012758442

the activity period should have changed yesterday at 10/24/2017 18:33:20 - so how comes it didn't, or, in fact it did?

It did as it always does. As usual you have just misunderstood how activity works. You need to make sure you make a post after that time and then it can take up to an hour for the activity to be calculated. By the looks of it you have potential activity now so I'm not sure what you're confused on.

Edit: you have a potential activity of 98: https://www.bctalkaccountpricer.info/?token=50942ujf
4515  Other / Meta / Re: Newbie PM changes to address phishing on: October 25, 2017, 08:22:16 AM
How about you address Phishing,Hacked<banned accounts Directly as so many have Begged you in PM's and Emails according to your own guidelines? So many people have provided proof through their posts,PM's and Emails With linked BTC Accounts but yet you put them off and do nothing. Why have users Email you through your own guidelines only to ignore those users?

Theymos should probably remove his name from the recovery process if he's not really involved in it any more. It will save both him and other's time. Maybe change it to tell people just to create a thread in Meta with all the details instead to stop cyrus and other staff being spammed with requests. At least if the info checks out others can verify it and leave appropriate feedback and an admin can still get to it at some point and close the thread once handled. It'll probably be a much more efficient system.
4516  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: October 25, 2017, 08:13:07 AM
∙ Is there a Filipino version of this Rules and Guideline thread in the Local Forum - Philippines?
  - If there's none, I will translate this during my free time.

∙ Speaking of NSFW content, if ever happened that I posted an Image to a "for sale" personally made Advertisement Banner to be used for Pornographic Anime sites, does censoring(mosaic or bar) the images make it SFW?

There are a couple of stickies about the rules in there but for some reason they're mostly in English.

As for the NSFW content it'll probably be taken on a case by case basis. Having a woman showing a bit of cleavage vs a topless woman with a pixel over her nipples are two different things. However, if they're in a thread clearly stating what is likely to be found inside and marked as NSFW it shouldn't be an issue.
4517  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: October 25, 2017, 08:05:14 AM
Hey there, I remember there was an Excel sheet with the timeline when the ranks/ activity points will be updated,
but I can't seem to find it anymore, could someone help me out, or just tell me when the next "update" will be?
Thanks in advance!
Greetings! Smiley

The spreadsheet with all the updates can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0

What level will I be able to upload images to my post?

Junior, once you get 30 activity.
4518  Other / Meta / Re: Poor Thread titles and osts. on: October 25, 2017, 07:40:33 AM
I do notice a lot of posts on the forum where you literally cannot tell what a person is saying in their main post. So why am I seeing so many posts with weird terminology, or idioms of a hidde nature. It's very confusing, especially when it may be a newer person.

Welcome to bitcointalk. This forum used to be a board for those interested in bitcoin, but now it's a forum where mostly Indonesians and Filipino kids come to earn money from alt coin icos. They often have absolutely no knowledge or interest in bitcoin at all and many obviously cannot speak English very well if at all so use google translate etc hence why many posts are garbled nonsense. Even worse is when they just copy and paste an older post from the same thread which is a problem that is rife and often very difficult to spot. These people only post here because it's easy to earn from ico signature campaigns and once they do get their first payment they then tell all their family members and all their friends at school or work and the problem is exacerbated exponentially every single day. As long as lazy ico campaigns are allowed to operate here as they wish and pay users for whatever crap they can churn out with complete impunity nothing is going to change and the problem is only going to get worse daily.
4519  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: October 24, 2017, 05:59:57 PM
You need to make sure you make at least one post in every two week period. If you don't you will lose that activity.
4520  Other / Meta / Re: If Selling BTT Account Is Bad Why Just Not Prohibit it? on: October 24, 2017, 11:18:38 AM
Scams are bad but they're not moderated as policy by staff either. Just because certain DT members choose to leave feedback for certain infractions doesn't mean forum policy will change either. Personally I would prefer to tackle account sales in a different way by removing signatures from ranks which would essentially kill the market for them.
