4501  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking escrow that support accounts on: June 08, 2021, 05:34:07 PM
Do you have any reason why do you want to buy bitcointalk account?

If your purpose is for announcement creation or planning to increase the limit of a newbie account and want to post images you can buy a copper membership.

You can buy membership from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote
4502  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What do bitcoin ATMs do with your phone number? on: June 08, 2021, 05:12:01 PM
It's not recommended to use a 3rd party or SMS provider it's risky.

Phone verification is need for their KYC process before you can able to deposit and buy bitcoin. If you are living in UK or EU I think most of the BTC ATMs there require phone numbers but I don't know in the US but try to look to another BTC ATM because I heard there are some BTC ATMs that don't need a phone number for verification or ID verification.

Use this coinatmradar.com then check the details of the Bitcoin ATM near you and it will show if it needs SMS verification and ID verification or not.
4503  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to Start Bitcoin Mining Business in India? on: June 07, 2021, 11:58:45 PM
Next time read our sticky thread here "First time/Small miner reference for getting started."

Thought I read somewhere that it was banned/illega in India now?

Not yet but they are planning to ban mining or even holding any crypto asset.
4504  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: A phishing website of blockchain wallet exists in the first result of Google.. on: June 07, 2021, 11:29:18 PM
I tried to access the site but this is what it shows

It seems that my Cloudflare DNS blocking this site or the site is already taking down?
4505  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Issue with virus on: June 07, 2021, 11:05:08 PM
It's likely a virus that can hijack your browser and change everything every time you access the deposit page on exchanges.

I can't find the name of this virus but it's nearly the same as the hijack virus. When I try to search on Google mostly the result is clipboard malware but your case is not and they try to edit the deposit address on exchanges so it could be a hijack virus.

There is a cryptojacking but this virus only mines secretly in your machine if you are infected with this virus.

I tried to search but it seems it does not have a name yet I can't find the exact name of this but it looks like a hijack virus or Cross-site script attack.
Your browser might have an infected plugin that could change the information of your deposit address from exchanges.
4506  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ebit e9i firmware problem on: June 07, 2021, 10:31:34 PM
Check carefully sometimes it does not have a name and it needs paperclip to press the button.

Look at this

If it doesn't actually have a button then try to use Management Tool from ebang you can download it from here http://miner.ebang.com.cn/article-8.html
Let see if you can access it through that tool and change pool.
4507  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ebit e9i firmware problem on: June 07, 2021, 10:03:23 PM
I don't know what Ebit e9i looks like but it looks like it's the same as other ASIC miner with IP report and reset button.

Can you try to hold the reset button for 15-20 seconds to reset the miner to factory default then let's see after that if you can access the WebGUI.

If it doesn't work try another button I don't know if the name is the IPreport button or other name just try it holding it for 15-20 seconds then release and test it again if you can access the WebGUI after the miner reboot.

4509  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Is there a way to transfer BTC from an offline wallet (Armory) to a new... on: June 06, 2021, 11:31:57 PM
~snip~

The legacy one will work but the segwit one(p2sh-p2wpkh) will not work. If you put import the private key on Electrum with the Segwit one the result of the address will convert to the legacy wallet.

I already tried that on Electrum even adding script type it won't let you click the next button. So converting them into compressed private key will solve his issue.
4510  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How do I move money from my bank to coinbase? on: June 06, 2021, 10:58:03 PM
If you have already done this recently and it does not yet show in your Coinbase wallet balance it means it's not yet clear from your bank to Coinbase bank.

According to Coinbase:
Quote
the funds will not be transferred to your wallet until your payment has finished moving between the banks and clears in our bank account.

You can read the whole page from here "How long does a purchase or deposit take to complete?"
4511  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Is there a way to transfer BTC from an offline wallet (Armory) to a new... on: June 06, 2021, 10:22:34 PM

Thanks, however - I'm by no means "locked" to Eletrum - any wallet where I can transfer my Armory-BTCs will do. =)

What do you mean locked to Electrum?

There are many wallets but it seems that you've experienced some issues with Armory wallet according to your old post on the Armory section.

Why not, focus on Electrum first because it is one of the easy-to-use wallets.

The important here you already have the private keys that you can use to import your old wallet where your $30 in BTC is located or saved.

As what I mention above the private keys that starts with 5 you can convert them and I'm sure it will work after you convert them into k or L.
4512  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Is there a way to transfer BTC from an offline wallet (Armory) to a new... on: June 06, 2021, 09:56:19 PM
I was very clear with that I used  Saffello which used Segwit before, but now Taproot (have no clue of the difference), is this the source of my problem - hence I'm f*cked?

The only problem is that the private key that starts with 5 doesn't support yet on Electrum but all private keys you have are uncompressed WIF private key you can convert them into the compressed private key that starts with L or K.

There is a tool that you can convert them you can use https://www.bitaddress.org/ under wallet details and paste the private key that starts with 5 and you will see all details after you click the details. You can also use this tool https://iancoleman.io/bitcoin-key-compression/ to convert them into compressed WIF keys.

Or you can try to disable or uncheck plain base58 when exporting private keys from the armory. Let see if it will show K or L private keys instead of 5.
4513  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory, two problems (online and scanning transactions history) on: June 06, 2021, 03:12:45 PM
The folder exxist, however Appdata is a hidden folder.

is C:\Program Files\Bitcoin "block data-adress"?

I bought BTC via Safello, they switched from Segwit to Taproot - is there any wallet I can download and send the $30-worth off BTC there instead? Armory seems to advanced for me.

If you understand how to use the armory wallet you won't get any problem. If you are a newbie next time use only the lite version of wallet like Electrum.

Anyway, if you want to get the BTC from the armory the fastest way is to export the private key from your wallet and import it to any wallet like Electrum as a sample.
You can find the export under menu>wallet properties>backup this wallet you can follow this post below on how to export them.

4514  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk forum mobile app on: June 06, 2021, 02:11:03 PM
There is a Bitcointalk app before I can't remember who created it but there is no difference between accessing this forum with a normal browser and the app.

The forum doesn't need an app because the forum can access through the phone without any issue. The design is very responsive so you can use any phone to access this forum without a problem and there is no difference in accessing it through PC and mobile phone.

The good thing in this forum all resources are in all kb, unlike other forums that eat so much data compared on this forum so there is no problem even you access it through any phone browser.
4515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: antminer l3+ keep changing pool address...help on: June 04, 2021, 09:51:15 PM
Have you installed firmware from other sources than Bitmain recently?

Or maybe your PC or the device you currently use to change the pool is infected so try to change the pool on other device

If the issue still the same try to flash the miner through SD card flashing.
You can follow this guide below on how to flash the miner through an SD card.

For the SD card firmware, you can download it from here https://service.bitmain.com/support/download?product=Flashing%20SD%20card%20with%20image

Once successfully flash it again through WebGUI on other devices just download the firmware from Bitmain.
Then test again if it solves your issue.
4516  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: prompt wallets for storing and buying cryptocurrency on: June 04, 2021, 09:31:57 PM
What exactly exchanges that turned out to be dishonest?

Exchanges are not a good place to store bitcoin but if you are looking for a safe place to store Bitcoin for long-term holdings only Hardware wallets are a good place to store Bitcoin.

There are many hardware wallets one of them already mention above another one is the Trezor wallet and Keepkey.

If you want a big list of hardware wallets you can find it from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5282364.0

Another wallet is Electrum already mentioned above but you can use it as cold storage on an offline PC much secured compared to running it on an online PC.
Just make sure that you always have a backup copy of the seed mnemonic for future recovery(Very important).
4517  Economy / Exchanges / Re: I bought 0.0011 BTC but only received 0.00053 BTC! on: June 04, 2021, 07:20:40 PM
I had heard about high Binance fees but I didn't expect it to be this high! Thanks for your answer!
So, I will lose money rather than making profit!

I used a local platform in my country which is only well-known here.

Yes their withdrawal right now is pretty expensive look at the minimum withdrawal fee that I get when trying to withdraw my BTC out from Binance

BTC network

But if I switch to other networks like BEP2 here the fee that I got

Next time check the fee before you withdraw from exchanges like Binance. Take note for other networks/chain you can switch to other networks if you want like BEP2 to reduce the withdrawal fee but the receiving address must be on the same network in order to receive the BTC amount. If you are going to send it directly to BTC address you won't receive anything.
4518  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Bitcoin at a Glance 🔊 on: June 04, 2021, 05:41:11 PM
Take note you can not mine BTC with your PC maybe years ago but right now you can't able to mine bitcoin on PC even it's for the lottery.

You can only mine BTC with any ASIC machine that supports sha256 algo.
4519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core starts to load then shuts down on: June 04, 2021, 03:04:08 PM
Is this newly installed Bitcoin core in your machine?
Or do you have the old version installed on the same machine and upgraded it to the latest version?

Can you try to re-download and install the Bitcoin core but before you reinstall it make sure to make a backup copy of bitcoin data if it was already fully synced before or just move the whole bitcoin data to another folder then reinstall after.

I can't seem to find any other problem from your debug log except for this "ERROR: DeserializeFileDB: Failed to open file D:\Bitcoin\anchors.dat" but it shouldn't be the cause of the crash. There might be other reasons why it crashes from start up.

If it still doesn't work after reinstall try to uninstall bitcoin core make sure that you already have a backup of your bitcoin data to another folder. Now try to download the zip file version from this link below. And then extract the zip file and open the bin folder>bitcoin-qt.exe

If everything works fine you can point your old backup data if you don't want to redownload again the whole block data.
