Man, Guardians of The Galaxy 3 was somewhat disappointing.

It has some good bits, especially the Rocket stuff, but much of the movie became a real clusterfuck with too many characters and too many redemption arcs thrown in.

What a shame.

The first one was excellent and a refreshing surprise.

This one for me is a 5 or 6/10 at best.

Not much point seeing any more Marvel movies from now on I reckon.

too long too much fighting.

i did like a few scenes

  “you are a good dog “ 🐶

was decent scene.

Phil,
Try a different pool for giggles and see what you get.

I highly doubt it has any affect, the hashrate is still whiting the specs of -+5% but i think it could do better, it seems like the env temp was not so great when the miner tuned, although temps look good now according to the image, I think a reboot would change the hashrate if the env temp is better than when it tuned the first time.

Oddly enough I believe that the "power fast boot" option may not play nice with certain pools causing a reduced hashrate.

When I removed this option the miner took 10 minutes or so to fully spin up but when it did it finally reached full hashrate on the pool that it wasn't hashing well on.

This only occurred on 1 of my M50's but it maybe worth a look. Who knows...

Well I am going back to the mine in a few days I will be trying to alter some air intake via duct work on the intake side. It should make the “cold” colder. I am not sure if fast boot is setup I will check it.

First off solar works without batteries.

It can be grid tied and uses very little shit materials when grid tied.

I know this as I use a

45kwatt array
115kwatt array
265kwatt array
425kwatts produce for about 5 hours a day on average. That is 2.125 megawatts a day.

Very little pollution caused as they grid tie not battery tie.

Grid tie = good when laws are done fair and square
battery = bad unless a new battery is invented.

“Normal” power grids between 45 lat north and 45 lat south could handle a huge amount of solar tide to their grids. Far more than then do.

That said solar used to mine on a grid like I do is not employed much as many power grids do not do a fair and square 1 to 1 kwatt swap.

Ie when my 425 kwatts of solar are peaked at 12 noon I used about 100 and send 325 to the grid.
So in a normal average day 5 x 325 = 1625 kwatts which are sent back at night at no cost.

a fair and square trade.  Many power grids just take your excess during the day and sell it back at 2x the price they paid you for it in the daytime.

All in all solar could expand 100x and help but not fix the energy issues in the world.

I cant speak for wind or hydro but grid tied solar should have 100% agreement that it is helpful.

Energy future if the world is not to wreck itself is in fusion reactor tech. I am too old to think I will see it working but it could solve all the energy issues we have.

If you are not lucky in life you have bad things happen all the time.

Last month an F2 tornado missed my house by 2500 feet.

I was lucky.

Please note F2 tornado in New Jersey is very rare.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K51Rj59pjY

look at what it did to homes in my town.

Luck is why I did not suffer that to my home.

So being a success is work and luck combined.

All that worked hard to become successful and did succeed had luck and hard work in their favor.

I am so lucky to be off pasta for life. (due to Diabetes)

best part of the article is  below:

"...The price of pasta rose for two consecutive months, by 17.5% in March followed by a 16.5% rise in April – when compared to the same periods a year earlier, according to the Italian National Institute of Statistics.

This is despite the falling price of durum wheat, which has dropped by 30%, according to officials. ..."

That is fucked up.

Thank you so much for the thorough answer. Is the USB quiet method very expensive?  Can they be run, or can any systems be run without any cooling if they sit in an air conditioned room that’s about 78°?
I read something old online that said the Goldshell KD2 is the quietest mining equipment at 55db but I don’t think it mines Bitcoin, or maybe it does.
Regarding your question about the 600kwh a month accumulation… I could let it accumulate for several months at a time and then run the equipment. Basically near the end of the year I’ll have 7,200kwh to use. I could run the mining equipment for a month straight and then turn it off for several months.
Your analysis was excellent. Thank you. If I do figure out an option and do get a setup, any chance I can tip you to help me get it?
I’d really like quiet as possible and not requiring fans and extra cooling.
Does the equipment require 220v or 110v with really high amps?
Thanks.

you want an antminer l3+

you can set it to do 600 watts 24/7/365

so 24 x .6 = 15 kwatts a day

or 450 kwatts a month.

it will earn 1 dollar a day or 30 a month

point to nicehash it will send you btc.

it is fairly quiet and suits your needs close to perfectly.

You can get it for about 200 with a quiet psu shipped to hawaii.

note you possibly could get an antminer s15 and run it on low speed

but it will pull 900 watts and about 700 kwatts a month

it will earn about 2 dollars a day. you must use  240 volts.  i think it costs about 400.

if you want more info about these older units shoot me a pm.

note the antminer L3+ uses 120 volts it is okay

the s15 use 240 volts it may be better.

200 weekly MA defended for now, the bleeding has stopped for the moment. Feels like we’re on a knife edge, will the US default or will the debt limit be lifted?

The halving is less than a year away but we are going to get volatility before it I think.

I like a bit of salt and rosemary on my Angus.

But if the US defaults it will be a first in history.

Yeah room has a ton of heat. But I finally think I have it good enough for the summer. It was 91f and nothing over heated yesterday.

Of course we can do up to 102f. But with the nice software whatsminer give you can shut all the pieces down in about 1 minute on a really hot day.

Those 6 pieces are about 20kwatt or 90k BTU.

4516  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is anyone else glad Bitcoin is calming down? on: May 13, 2023, 12:34:26 AM

How do you suppose this could be done?

Having a block maxed out with a lot more transactions is an incentive to the miners, as they will earn some more Bitcoins from the transaction fees on top of block rewards.
i guess if a miner had a large share of the network and they wanted to cause damage to it they could refuse to include transactions and just fill up blocks with whatever they wanted to, if anything. but as you point out, it wouldnt be in their financial best interest it doesn't seem like. but say they had 30% of the hash rate then i guess they could mine 30% of the blocks so they could slow down the network by 30% if they just mined empty blocks.

Miners cant afford that.

but large pools that do not share fees ie antpool can do it.

in fact they can do zero tx blocks  slowing the network.

and not collect fees for others pointed to their pool

then point their own  hash at viabtc as viabtc shares fees.

so they lose out on antpool blocks but whale on viabtc blocks.

Hello everyone,

I mined some satoshis more than 10 years ago, and just now I found the HD with the corresponding cgminer folder. I never messed with bitcoins again, and I don't even remember what the process was like. Is there still a possibility to recover these satoshis?

If so, some instruction would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. The software version at that time was 3.7.2 for Windows.

recovering coins usually involves wallets and wallet.dat files

the cgminer folder could contain a pool name that you used but it is very unlikely the pool held your coins for 10 years.

good luck.

mfw i paid over 1000 bucks for expedited shipping and only offer 150 bucks as "refund" to get it by June 30th at the soonest.

I like how they let people click the 10-20 day shipping option knowing damn well that wasn't going to happen.

I understand how you feel. I did the cheaper one. so I paid 1500+500 (shipping) = 2,000

But I paid back in Jan like the 24th.

They said the gear was not ready to ship until Late Feb

 I paid the cheaper shipping.

It is obvious they had 2 issues 1 is building it on time. China did have a lot of Feb lockdowns for covid.

I also think they found out shipping it was harder than they expected.

REMEMBER they are shipping chemicals and gear. I think getting permits for the cooling liquid slowed them.

So far my delay is say feb 25 to Now.

And I paid for slow shipping which means I believe if they give me tracking today it will be a month more. So Maybe June 15-25 it shows up in New Jersey.
4519  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miners Should Consider the Lower Transaction Fees on: May 11, 2023, 12:48:12 PM
So miners had 10 good days of fees which is now dropping.

Last few blocks fees are much lower

1.36
0.45
0.66
1.05
1.49
1.92
0.73
1.60
1.67
1.67

and viabtc dropped from 160% of a block to  130%

Glad to hear it.
It's a sign the BRC-20 spamming is already slowing down. The shit-token-boys must be slowly running out of sats, oh my. Cheesy
Must be fun times as a miner when you suddenly get an almost 2x on your usual income.

Let's see how the next few days perform. My guess is: Slowly continuing to decrease to pre-BRC-20 levels with a few random spam-bumps in-between.

Yeah the extra fees for the entire network were 4 to 8 million a day for a week or so. They failed to do what they wanted which was to drive btc down under 25k.

BTC hodlers stood strong.

We may see a good bounce back in btc price maybe 32k in under a week.
