4501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 8 Ball Pool game against live players worldwide - is gambling available? on: September 19, 2019, 05:25:54 PM
If possible please brief, how the game will be played.

The usual Player vs Player mode.

If ever a gambling site will have a feature like this, my concern is how we can verify if we are playing against a real human. This game can be easily applied with an aimbot program that might calculate the right spot on the cueball or longer guided lines.

That's why I suggest to OP instead that if he is interested in a match, he can challenge anyone here and use crypto as a betting prize. It will take place on Miniclip since it's more easy to access or maybe there's a much better platform for this.

There are a huge number of cheaters on Miniclip and similar sites, so challenging someone to play on one of those sites is like fighting a boxer on steroids.

I would personally love if there were more PvP gambling games like this, however, it is very difficult to produce a game that uses a skill element that can't be botted.

Yes, cheaters are everywhere literally! But Miniclip is not offering any gambling opportunity in their android game. It's just normal in-game coins which has no value in real world. Players can earn those coins but that's not real gambling in any way!

I am sure that, building and maintaining a bot free skill based game is difficult, but very lucrative on the other hand. because a lot of people are willing to invest in skill based games rather than investing in luck-based game!

4502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Interview with VORTEX: Bitcoin to 1 Trillion USD market cap? on: September 19, 2019, 04:11:09 PM
Another one FOMO video without rationale
55,000 USD ? I very much doubt it. 20,000 USD looks more realistic

If you people actually listened to the linked episode rather than prematurely reacting to this topic's headline, you'd immediately realize that this isn't even your typical pull-a-number-out-of-your-ass price prediction.

I've personally listened to a few YouTube and podcast episodes that includes Vortex, and this dude is definitely not your typical moonboy.

Maybe not a moonboy! But definitely it's a speculation without much substance to back up the claim! I am definitely not a negative guy and I would love to see 1 trillion usd market cap, because then I will be able to pay off my mortgage and probably be able to buy a backup property! But I prefer to live in reality. I hope to see such market cap of 1 trillion at least in my lifetime!
4503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bad projects are been dealt with by altcoin bear market on: September 19, 2019, 04:25:24 AM
Many projects developed in 2018, but only at the beginning to get large funds, but after entering the token exchange, just leave it, well, this is a lot of names to fail in a project, we know that profits will only be at the beginning, not only for those who long.

If I ask you to give me a list of 5 ICOs developed in 2017-18 that are really successful, would you be able to name at least two? If yes, I would love to know those names!

I said in different accessions, that good and potent projects are failing due to their lack of experience in running a profitable venture! While the project developers are great but every business needs seasoned marketing team to run the business and make it a profitable one! It has no relation with the altcoin season whatsoever! Please remember, as an investors, we invest in the equity of a company. But if the company fails to bring business no matter how good their product is, makes no sense to anyone!
4504  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Ebay-like website that accepts bitcoin? on: September 19, 2019, 04:17:23 AM
I am wondering if there is an auction website like ebay, or anything similar that accepts bitcoins.

Ebay is pre-dominantly an e-commerce website with an added advantage of auctioning! The below article provides a list of 13 major retailers who accepts bitcoin for their products and services.

https://www.lifewire.com/big-sites-that-accept-bitcoin-payments-3485965

Also, Shopify (already mentioned in the list above) is a great new exciting name to enter this crypto space. All website owners in Shopify platform can now add bitcoin as one of their payment methods which has the potential to take bitcoin adoption to the next level. Because around 50k active stores are running under Shopify platform with around 40 billion USD worth of sales volume yearly.

Hope this helps!
4505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets think Bitcoin as an investment not payment system, is this right? on: September 19, 2019, 03:52:44 AM
Bobby Lee — co-founder and former CEO of China's first crypto exchange BTCC — says the Chinese have always thought of Bitcoin as an investment rather than a payment system.

Lee made his remarks during an interview for Charlie Shrem’s Untold Stories podcast on Sept. 18.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/bobby-lee-chinese-always-saw-bitcoin-as-investment-not-for-payments

- In accordance to what Bobby Lee said, it is indeed that China thought of bitcoin as an investment.
This might be the reason why China was one of the biggest percentage average of having a bitcoin mining farm.
all over the world, What's your view about this thought? Smiley

It's worldwide and not just a Chinese thing. Except few countries like Japan, Germany etc. where bitcoin is not officially legal, people use it as an investment only and not as a currency! So it's wrong to generalize only China for such mindset and this mindset is known as FOMO or "Fear of missing out"!

Bitcoin has shown immense growth since its inception which no other investment class had shown in last 10 years! Yes, real estate had fetched such return in some cases or in some specific areas but not at a global scale! So it makes complete sense for people to use it as an investment and not as a currency.

We all know about what happened on 22 May, 2010 as we celebrate it as "Bitcoin Pizza Day"! Mr. Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 Bitcoins to order few pizzas from Papa Zones which is worth 100 million at current bitcoin price! This fellow could have lived a life of a millionaire in 2019 if he had not purchased those pizzas in 2010. It is a classic example why FOMO plays a big role in the mindset of a bitcoin user, and it makes sense!
4506  Economy / Gambling discussion / 8 Ball Pool game against live players worldwide - is gambling available? on: September 19, 2019, 03:34:59 AM
Hi, if you know about 8 Ball Pool Game, you understand the potential of gambling in it. It's a very addictive game and I have been been playing it in my mobile since last few weeks and totally loving it. See the picture below,

Does anyone know about any gambling platform where I can play this game against live players worldwide and bet on my own ability using cryptos? I tried searching Google but unable to find any such platform where I can bet on my own ability and earn real money for each win. Any help will be appreciated!
4507  Local / India / Re: [ANN] IndiaBits - The New Beginning to India's Crypto Community on: September 18, 2019, 06:11:36 PM
While I am not sure whether to join India Bits because there are some concerns that I see. The website is just 23 days old right at this moment. I tried to look for the whois data and it seems the details are blocked.

@Heisenberg_Hunter, do you know the owner of this forum? Do you think the admin is trustworthy enough not to share our IP address to the enforcement authority upon receiving such request. I find bitcointalk more secure because I know Theymos won't entertain such requests from any enforcement agencies unless a serious scam is involved! Do you have such assurance from Indiabits??

My question may seem little odd, but since India is planning to criminalize cryptos, it is always better to be cautious!
4508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any Altcoins out there backed by real assets? on: September 18, 2019, 05:56:04 PM

Looking for an Altcoin that is backed by something; akin to the Gold standard as opposed to just speculation....

Thanks in Advance

There are dozens of projects that are claimed to be backed by real-world assets! However, there is no easy way to confirm their claim because all of them are not audited by any credible auditor. So think before you leap into such tokens so save yourself from future regrets. read the below article to know the list of some asset backed cryptos,

https://www.goldscape.net/gold-blog/gold-backed-cryptocurrency/

However, nor I will not take any responsibility if their claim turns out to be false Neither I am promoting any of them. This is purely informational purpose only!
4509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saudi Oil and how the recent attack may affect Bitcoin on: September 18, 2019, 05:46:01 PM
I see a tendency of a lot of people who always tries to find relation between global events and bitcoin price. But apparently there is none! Bitcoin or any other crypto doesn't have any relation with the increasing or falling of crude oil price. Bitcoin's price doesn't have any relation with the economic slowdown as well. The attack happened on 14th September and 4 days down the line, no impact is seen! World crude oil market is strictly regulated and monitored by all governments as it is a very important commodity so it is highly unlikely that any investment would flow towards bitcoin after leaving the crude oil market. These are not even co-related!
4510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is volatile but NY Fed just pumped $75 billion into market for calm? on: September 18, 2019, 04:48:21 PM
I understand your sarcasm! But repo auction is a method of pumping money into banking system. This kind of measures are usually taken when the economy is slowing down and banks face capital crunch. It is great that USA didn't have to use this method since 2008, because in many countries, repo auction happens yearly! And it is NOT marking money out of thin air.

But don't get disappointed about bitcoin because it is not something that fits in the scope of mainstream economy. Why government wants it to be regulated tightly, is a different story all together. Don't mess up these two different things!
4511  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A rule most traders should live by (another topic about Binance & USA clients) on: September 18, 2019, 04:54:14 AM
When you encounter an obstacle, don't dance with it.  Instead just move around the obstacle.

An example of this is with the recent fiasco with Binance kicking out all of it's USA clients.  I've danced tango with that fiasco.  I've danced salsa with that fiasco.  I've made arguments with it.  I've made an amends with it.  I've written about it.  I've talked about it.  I've had coffee with it.  I've drank beer over it.  I've wasted a lot of time over it.

I never should have done any of those things with that fiasco.  Now it is time to start using Coinbase Pro and get back to trading and making money...

Lol!! How come Coinbase Pro become an alternative for Binance. Not even in my dreams mate! The number of coins and tokens you can trade on Binance is amazing, coinbase is nowhere close to it! If you have a limited trading pairs, then probably it make sense for you but not for a professional trader whose span of trading is bigger! Not to mention the trading fees, it is 0.1% binance for most of the case and 0.3% in Coinbase Pro in most of the cases. US residents can rather move to decentralized exchanges after securing their connection with a VPN.
4512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for Monthly $1K Payouts? Andrew Yang Says Yea on: September 18, 2019, 04:13:48 AM
Free Bitcoin payouts could become reality under a US presidency if 2020 candidate Andrew Yang is elected, he has hinted in fresh comments.

https://bitcoinist.com/andrew-yang-usd-1000-bitcoin-payouts-for-us-residents/

It reminds me of Rahul Gandhi of India who also spoke similar things like "universal basic income" before the election without looking at the feasibility of such project and without considering the situation of the national treasury. isn't it an open call for bribe?? But yes, cryptocurrency may see fresh liquidity from US market, if it becomes a reality! But those who are screaming with happiness with the hope of receiving $1000 worth of bitcoin payment, did they consider the feasibility of it??
4513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anybody making a mortgage(defi) market for Bitcoin? on: September 18, 2019, 04:04:45 AM
This year, the defi market in Ethereum has made good progress. MakerDao, dydx and compound developed well.

For Bitcoin miners, they need to sell and pay for electric fee. If there is a mortgage market, they can mortgage bitcoin into cash to pay for electric fee when the price is low, sell it when the price is high, or hold it for a long time, only in a bull market.

It sounds very interesting. Anybody making a mortgage market for Bitcoin?

I don't think we have such facility available for bitcoin anywhere. MakerDao is the first in the market to offer such facility but it works only with ETH right at this moment. The facility is known as CDP" or "Collateralized Debt Position". However, this facility is only beneficial to the mid-big scale miners providing the fees and the collateral requirement is pretty high! Even though it is indeed a very interesting idea, the ancillary fees has to go down to make it accessible for all! Also the volatility of the borrowed coin should be very minimal to prevent losses to the borrowers. Let me give you a simple example.

You pledged $150 worth of bitcoin and received 0.15 maker coin with a contract to pay back 0.16 Maker Coin at the end of the contract. Now to spend it for your electricity bill, you will have to convert that Maker Coin to cash by paying additional fees. Now if the price of maker coin goes up in the meantime, the borrower will have to spend additional money to fulfill the mortgage requirement as he will have to again buy the required amount of Maker Coin from the market at the market price. It's not an win-win situation for a small scale miner.

So I believe, a crypto to cash mortgage market is better and more accessible to all given a fact that fiat's value is more stable than cryptos. The idea should be, getting cash by pledging crypto and returning the same amount with small fees to unlock the pledged crypto. That's easier and doesn't feel heavy on the pocket.
4514  Economy / Economics / Re: [FLASH NEWS]: Cryptocurrency investment related will soon be ban on India on: September 17, 2019, 06:55:19 PM
Well! That's an old news! I don't know why Economic Times of India decided to post a story on that now, because the matter is currently under the trial of Supreme Court of India! Court hearing is still ongoing and the next hearing date is 25 September 2019. Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and India based crypto exchanges is defending the case against Reserve Bank of India in Supreme Court and nothing has been finalized yet. Stop creating panic!
4515  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to know exact price i bought a coin at? on: September 17, 2019, 06:38:04 PM
I bought a certain coin on a certain date over a year ago.  Say i bought binance coin but tiny amount a long time ago.  If i know i bought it at say $9.25, but then i sold it pretty quickly but it was not meant to sell it for btc or usdt but used to pay the buying fees when buying an altcoin, is there a way to get up to minute on exactly how much binance coin cost on say january 1 2018 at say 2pm exactly etc?  Say i had btc sent from wallet to binance an hour earlier.  Then an hour later i went to buy altcoin with the btc but i first buy tiny about of BNB first as i would use that for fees when buying coin.

I am not sure that I understood your question. However, based on my understanding, I will try to answer it. If you want to get minute level details, then you should look up to your trading statement. Majority of the exchanges offer trading statement to their users and Binance is definitely one of them. So look under your Binance account for the same or get in touch with their support team. The statement will have the details of the order execution price (buying price) and the trading fees you have paid against it! Always consider the trading fees paid in the buying price while calculating the actual money spent on buying an asset. Hope this helps!
4516  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria on: September 17, 2019, 05:33:36 PM
Is this the first time a kidnapping has taken place?
Didn't the kidnapping happen before the creation of Bitcoin?
Didn't the kidnappers get money before?

Correct! But you are taking the entire news in wrong sense! Besides the Kidnapping, what particularly is sad to us, is the involvement of bitcoin in such kind of serious crime! No one here blamed bitcoin for this incident, rather the involvement of bitcoin is concerning to us! While we all are aware of the positive side of cryptos, at the same time we should be watchful of its negative usage as well!
4517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to detect desperate Developers and scammers on: September 17, 2019, 04:18:42 PM
Obviously any project that promises you any of these are either scam or dangerous investments plans managed by desperate developers

1. Huge ROI in short period of term
2. Risk free investments
3. Assurance of what to come
4. Big exchanges listing like binance

I have promoted projects that pretends to have listing plan on big exchanges just to make people promote the project and make investors invest too

There are so many other indicators as well and I think you are generalizing one parameter. For example, "an assurance of what to come" is indeed a necessary information that investors want to know from a project. Otherwise a future goal is there, how would you understand the potential of the project?? The absence of a future goal should raise a red flag!

Let me give you an example of a potent scam running currently, Minter.network! Look at their website and tell us what are the red flags that you see! I am sure, you won't be able to match your own points in this case!
4518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I am receiving EOS in my wallet without doing anything on: September 17, 2019, 03:18:14 PM
Hello guys I have a question
Recently I logged into my wallet I havent used in months and I found out that I have $1500 in EOS sent in the last few months in couple of transactions?
How is it possible? I even received few $ again today
I will be great if someone can explain this to me

Thanks in advance

Unless someone is incorrectly using your address, there's no way you will receive such huge amount. Can you please share the screenshot of your account?

Because, that's the only way you can receive free money like this! Someone is incorrectly using your wallet address and not checking back their own wallet. It is not a glitch for sure!
4519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shower thought. If nations/states/governments are accumulating Bitcoin, then on: September 17, 2019, 02:40:20 PM
I believe they must be doing it in secret. What would be the advantage for North Korea, or Iran, to let everyone know that they are accumulating/mining/HODLING?

I doubt any such thing is happening!! North Korea is ruled under a dictatorship so can't tell for sure! But for the other governments, it seems impossible! Countries believe in a centralized economy and bitcoin or any other cryptos are directly against that centralized value! So they would not "waste" their "valuable" fiat against something that directly contradicts with their own belief!

For N. KOREA, it may be possible because they simply don't bother about the rest of the world!
4520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bakkt is coming: will this be biggest crypto week ever and set off bull run? on: September 17, 2019, 06:13:22 AM
Nah. Nothing of note of will happen.

If the existing market is bored shitless, why would the sentiment be any different via a new channel? If there was insane bullishness it would perhaps magnify it. It certainly won't create it from thin air.

On the contrary I have a different thought! I remember similar kind of discussions happening during the launch of CME's bitcoin future and I have seen a lot of people were optimistic about it without knowing the ground reality, that CME wasn't offering physical bitcoin settlement.

So in the case of Bakkt, it is way different because Bakkt is aiming to offer physically settled bitcoin futures contracts. This actually will help to increase the demand of bitcoin in the market, which wasn't the case of CME!

I don't see anything created from thin air in Bakkt! It's robust plan to offer institutional and accredited investors a physically settled bitcoin contract can impact the market very positively! Probably it will provide the necessary stimulus that the crypto market is looking for!
