4501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto analyst who nailed ethereum's climb to $3,400 says $10,000 is next on: May 09, 2021, 07:17:32 AM
I seriously doubt if that $10,000 prediction will be feasible during this bull rally. Perhaps, we should be looking at the next bull rally in the next four years to come for it. Except something drastic is done with ETH miners making a call for reduced tx fees or burning some tokens I really don't see a huge rise happening with ETH beyond this point. BNB is giving ETH a run for its money with its innovative reduced transaction fees and the pursuit of many tokens using its BSC. I believe this, unarguably, has contributed in drawing ETH price back. Without BSC on the line, ETH would've surpassed this level long time ago with the way BTC is surging. As more projects get on the BSC than they do on ETH, it will be difficult to see ETH push that high. Yeah, I know someone will argue that ETH is decentralized while BSC is centralized, but that's not even the issue here. Many investors may not even know the difference or demerits. They just want to have transactions with less fees to pay.
4502  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I am doomed on trading on: May 09, 2021, 05:37:25 AM
Okay, the scenario the OP painted is one simply jumping into the sea without first learning how to swim or getting in a car and trying to drive off without first learning how to drive just because one is the owner of that car. Besides the desperation to feed her baby I observed that OP is pressed for time to make profit. Wrong tactics. Stress and trading don't go well together. Again, missing the basic skill sets for trading did the OP in expectedly, (of course, it will always come to that for anyone who doesn't have the skill sets). However, how people tend to think they can hop on trading without learning the rudiments for it, at least, is what I don't get. Trading is a profession and should be treated with respect. No one calls themselves doctors or lawyers without the required training years.
4503  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW IMPORTANT IS STOP LOSS on: May 09, 2021, 03:17:20 AM
He seems adamant and I decided to leave him maybe he will learn from his own mistake if it happens.
Certainly, he will surely learn it the hard way. That's if he hadn't already tasted the sour grapes given the timeline of this post and the OP's. Traders who have the mindset of always winning are those who feel it's an aberration to record a loss and they tend to jettison the idea of using a SL. Often, these traders are ruined. Let me speak from the experience of a FX Trader. No matter how small a lot size one wants to use to avoid using a SL one will soon discover the hard reality of either a trade running for a long time without making profit or account getting burnt eventually. It's best to use SL while trading as it gives traders peace of mind. Yes, quiet alright SL may be hit but that's part of what trading is also about, isn't it? A trader who doesn't want to record a loss will eventually end up a loser.

4505  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: May 08, 2021, 02:52:53 PM
DOGE is THE prototype of a useless coin or "anti-bitcoin".
Keep calling Dogecoin a useless coin while a lot of people are profiting from its sudden rise. I have had the opportunity of using Dogecoin a few times and I can say it's more convenient and fast to use than Bitcoin.

On the Elon posturing, I think any publicity is publicity whether good or bad. For the fact that the public values his tweets to make them hurry up and buy seemingly unprofitable tokens shows how powerful a figure Elon is. We shouldn't jettison that fact whether we think Elon is playing to the gallery or not. Let's enjoy this moment with Doge.
4506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bull market end on: May 07, 2021, 05:47:54 PM
Yeah it will end in next 7 to 12 months. For bitcoin markets, as per previous history, we may see bears to come in action by end if this year whereas altcoins may continue with bull run till the end of first quarter of 2022 which may vary coin to coin but overall altcoins market may have buli run till the beginning of second quarter of 2022.
That was the exact way it happened in 2017 with Bitcoin rally ending in December and the alts doing likewise in first quarters of 2018. The buying and hodling interest then and now aren't the same, remember? We should keep in mind that a lot of institutions have shown buying interest this 2021 unlike what we had in 2017 with mostly individual investors. I don't know if you perused the previous bull rally before 2017 to note how it also went. For me, I believe the present bull run will end differently. It WILL not drop like what we experienced after the ATH of 2017.
4507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bull market end on: May 07, 2021, 04:53:06 PM
I used to think the bull rally will end whenever there's sign of a decline in Bitcoin's market dominance in percentage below 50. That happened last month and is still lingering into this month as BTC dominance has remained around 45% or so but Bitcoin price has continued to remain encouraging without showing any sign of a slump. I think it's now going to be a long ride up still. Who knows, we may see $100k before the rally ends with the way Bitcoin is still holding strong. However, I advise the OP to take little profits from his investment to mitigate any eventuality. This industry is highly speculative and a very risky one.
4508  Other / Archival / Re: Everyone is following the same strategy on: May 07, 2021, 06:22:25 AM
About a few months ago, I learned some Japanese candlesticks for cryptocurrency trading. And there are some shapes when they happen that mean that there is a rise, ie: Buy. And some forms when they occur mean that there is a fall in the currency, ie: sell or hold. In the first case, you will buy, and if "everyone wants to profit" and everyone of course knows the rise, who is the dumb who will sell you this? In the second case, you want to sell, and also "everyone does not want to lose". Who is the dumb who would buy this from you? And with this logic, what are these shapes?

There is always something that happens naturally on a regular basis and causes regular results, but something happens based on "people's minds" (buy / sell), ie: it is erratic. So how will the results be regular (up / down)?
This isn't as direct as you're making it look here with candlestick patterns. I follow candlesticks as one of my leading signals. What you described above with the pattern has to be factored into the different timeframes on the charts. Remember that what the candle at Daily Timeframe signals may not be the same with 30mins, 1hr or 4hrs. It's likely to be different at Weekly and Monthly frames too. So, it depends on what TFs different traders are looking at before triggering trades. That's why while others are selling, others are buying.
4509  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency, now a fast rising trend! on: May 06, 2021, 05:18:59 PM
Cryptocurrency is becoming more of a trend, almost everyone has heard about someone whose life changed for the better because of cryptocurrency, because of these shinning prospects,  many more are latching in to get the gains without first seeking to get the knowledge.
This has become a trend every four years or every post Bitcoin halving year. We saw that in 2017. We see it now in 2021, and speculatively we shall see it again in 2025. My question has always been, "Why do people have to wait to chase price?"

(a) Having a small fraction of any crypto might not get you rich, to see real gains, try to procure "One" or more.
Well, that will depend on what token/coin one is hodling its fraction. Hodling a fraction of YFI or BTC is still something substantial in value. Notably, hodling tokens with less price value won't amount to anything unlike hodling the above two I mentioned, quite alright.

(b) Most times, only the rich can get richer from trading. Sounds very controversial, but think of this, if two friends follow a signal and enter a trade, one with $50 and the other with $500. If everything works out well, both will be in gains, but the profit margin of both individuals will be different. This Illustration further supports the claim that only the rich can get richer from trading.
Your analysis is spot on!

However, investing bits of cash most times isn't as a result of no capital for the investor. It could either be as a result of skepticism or fear of losing. Those who invest heavily are the risk takers, not necessarily the rich.
4510  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Football clubs and bitcoins on: May 06, 2021, 01:49:39 PM
Away from Bitcoin, I think clubs should begin advertising for alts.

This will be great news, However, i don't believe that its adoption can completely eliminate the use of fiat currency.
I think those who are advocating the complete eradication of fiat or replacement by Bitcoin are too excited to consider the tiny part that won't make this possible. Bitcoin is high tech to be easily understood by the old and illiterate folks to be able to assess. Again, electricity isn't yet in every nation and that's the backbone on which Bitcoin operates.

It will be difficult for bitcoin to get mainstream acceptance and adoption without government support. So until the government backs up the credibility of bitcoin, many football clubs might not be able to use it.
There are some clubs which are already using it. I don't think it needs government's support before any club can do that, provided the government doesn't ban it. Talking about mainstream — the British Pounds Sterling isn't an internationally recognized currency over the US dollar, yet it's still more valuable in strength than the US dollar. Bitcoin doesn't need to be adopted by mass before people will begin to use it.
4511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will the Fiat slaves from Old school Investment companies get Bitcoin? on: May 06, 2021, 10:28:52 AM
Let's educate them .... Wink
Well, truth remains that you can only take a man out of the dug if he's truly willing to come out of it. Otherwise, whatever efforts one makes will definitely end in futility. If from the days of "Bitcoin is a bubble" to the present reality someone some where is still doubting the solidity of Bitcoin, then that person is a chronic pessimist. The only thing that can jerk such a person to reality is if those who talk to him about Bitcoin are highly successful and wealthy with material accomplishments to show for it. Without such, the pessimist will not be convinced. Remember that it takes result to cancel insults and doubt.
4512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My feelings after 11 years with crypto. on: May 06, 2021, 04:59:52 AM
...everything going perfect but bitcoin price was really low and unstable.
If what the OP posted here is a true life story to them, it's really a pathetic one. It's a sad feeling knowing one has lost out on a great opportunity as a pioneer in a field of business/work. That's the case with the OP. However, people really don't learn. The way the OP saw the abysmally low price of Bitcoin in 2010 and a few years after but failed to keep Bitcoin he made is the same way a lot of us now see some abysmally low price alts and neglect them. If anything, the Dogecoin journey should be teaching us all a great lesson. But we don't truly want to learn, in the practical sense of it. We should form a habit of keeping certain alts, and not just Bitcoin alone. This is a bull year and the alts will expectedly flourish.
4513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sold my first Bitcoin and am happy on: May 06, 2021, 03:10:51 AM
However, I also feel like its broken the "HODL AT ALL COSTS" mindset which I felt was getting a bit unhealthy...

Basically, I'm glad I sold some if only to stop feeling like a slave to it
It's great you've broken loose of that mental chain. Honestly, I don't get the hang of it when people advise others to hodl at all cost. At some point those who are wise should be able to sell off, watch the market and then take advantage of any dip to biy back and increase their stash. Hodling without selling at all even when obvious signs of a dip show, isn't a wise thing to do. It's a fear mentality that causes people to perpetually hodl. It's FOMO.
4514  Other / Archival / Re: Yobit fake trade history on: May 05, 2021, 04:12:02 AM
OP's observation is correct and I think that cuts across exchanges with low liquidity. I have also observed similar scenario with, at least two exchanges, I use. It's obvious that such exchanges use bots to trigger trades, either cancelling them or completely moving them slightly below one's sell orders or above one's buy orders to prevent one's orders from getting picked. It's frustrating when that happens.

BTW, why will anyone even still trade on Yobit when there are several scam accusations against it littered on the Internet? Kindly keep off it. It used to be a great exchange in the past but not any more.
4515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Efforts of holding wasted on: May 03, 2021, 05:06:31 PM
You deem Bitconnect a top alt coin? What's wrong with you dude? People got wrecked! Like, really wrecked on purpose! We are not talking about Bitcoin volatility, we are talking about a Pozi scam! If that is your definition of a top alt coin, it is dangerous if you keep spreading your opinion. Maybe others follow your path and try to find the next Bitconnect.
I can feel your bile. It's obvious you got affected by Bitconnect. Don't let your fury blind you to history and facts. Always remember that facts are sacred. Whether people got rekt by the action of Bitconnect or not isn't what I'm pointing at here. I mentioned that in 2017 BCC was among the alts which topped the list but it's no more today. Isn't that what happened? Isn't that in history? Or you think that because people got rekt we shouldn't mention it if required? Is that how you present your case in analysing things? Again, on the opinion thing, everybody mustn't share yours.
4516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Efforts of holding wasted on: May 03, 2021, 12:23:11 PM
You can't mention Bitconnect in your list for this matter.
Why shouldn't I mention it. You want to undo history? Bitconnect was listed and traded for a while and as such I don't see why you want to obliterate that fact. That it ended up a scam doesn't mean a lot of people didn't profit from trading it. I did. It was one of the foremost lending coins I acquired during that era.
4517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RUMOUR: Facebook will announce they hold #Bitcoin on: May 02, 2021, 06:57:27 PM
The Twitter user, Alistair, must be some funny dude or simply trolling for alleging in 2018 that Satoshi sold off all his Bitcoin @ $5,000. So, what happens to the 1 million Bitcoin believed to be Satoshi's stash which hasn't been moved from that wallet since and are still intact. If Satoshi sold, the Bitcoin would've changed wallets.

On Facebook, I believe Mark and his entity will hodl some. If he doesn't believe in the Bitcoin dream, he wouldn't have harboured the idea to want to float Libra; a crypto that is yet to see the light of the day. I'm cocksure Mark has Bitcoin he's hodling.
4518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Efforts of holding wasted on: May 02, 2021, 04:53:10 PM
if I've spent my time to gather top altcoins I would be in happy mood right now
It's not enough to hodl top altcoins of today because they can be relegated to the background tomorrow. Coins like Bytebal and BCC (Bitconnectcoin) were among the top alts in 2017 but they're no were to be found today on the top list. One important thing to do while trying to hodl is to identify tokens with use-case if you want to keep them for long term. Otherwise, buying trending tokens of today for the heck of it may result in loss in future where such tokens are delisted from exchange or turn shitcoins and worthless. For instance, at a point Walton (WTC) went down abysmally after hitting ATH in 2018 but it's coming up back strong now. If it weren't a utility token, it would've vanished into thin air like other worthless tokens. So, OP, it isn't enough just hodling. Make sure you're hodling tangible and feasible tokens so as to avoid bag hodling shitcoins.
4519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you discover coins with great potential? Nearly 10.000 coins out there... on: May 02, 2021, 02:48:23 PM
Frankly speaking (writing actually), it's a 50/50 thing between discovering profitable altcoins and ending the search with a scam alt. The crypto industry is a highly speculative one. This makes a lot of people mistake it for gambling and as such equal it to a "get rich scheme" which it isn't. At the moment, there's this trend of meme tokens running into quadrillion in supply and people are rushing into that with the aim of making an easy x10 flip or so from their investments and quickly cashing out. In most cases, it has paid off well for people especially those who get in at 8 zeroes.

However, to get into solid projects, I look at the WP of projects to know if they have utility/use-case. If a project doesn't have, I skip it. I don't want to invest in a project and continually hold my breath, thinking it has disappeared into thin air.
4520  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best way to cash out? on: May 02, 2021, 01:34:32 PM
Tether seems to have a transfer fee of $20-$100,
I guess you referred to USDT ERC here. It's on the ETH chain and it's almost as high as transferring ETH. It's better to use USDT TRC 20. Transfer fee is $1. That's what I normally use when cashing out.

OP, you can do a P2P if the exchange you're on allows it after selling off BTC for TRC tether (because of transfer fee) on the exchange or do a local group P2P with escrow.
