4521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How the Alt season will pan out on: January 05, 2021, 09:39:32 PM
I agree that it might be different this year. Bitcoin is not stopping the ongoing high. I really don't know what's fueling this. But the important thing is as bitcoin arises altcoins arise also. I hope this affects starting projects also.
Actually things like that always have a good effect for some Altcoins, only for this year the effect is not that much because almost everyone sells Altcoins to get Bitcoin, because they also remember that Bitcoin will surpass the new ATH at the end of last year, and it turns out it is true.
This time is extremely different.
Why?
First, the all-time-highs. If you look some major altcoins, like Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, ADA, Ripple, their all-time-high are still not yet meet even Bitcoin already did multiple times since $20,000.
Completely different. But Ethereum is already close to its All-time-high, but Bitcoin also already close to its around $40,000 which doubled from 2017 all time high.
4522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP Price After Lawsuit? on: January 05, 2021, 12:43:38 PM
Probably the dumps will continue after it.
The recent dump was really huge, we saw the pump of Bitcoin, created multiple highs since few weeks ago, some major altcoins followed Bitcoin but if you observed the Ripple, sideways or dump only.
Some pullbacks above or corrections if incase the dumps will continue.
4523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Upcoming Pump will be DGB pump - so fill you bags now on: January 05, 2021, 05:25:26 AM
if you want to send someone 0.005 btc, just send him 5 dgb.
You haven't said that this is just an example but comparing to the price. 0.005BTC is much a lot of money than 5 DGB.
0.005 BTC = $155
5 dgb = $0.1355
I think what OP what to tell is the transaction fee? Which for DGB the transaction fee is really cheap but for me there are lot of alternative for DGB if transaction fee is the problem.

Speaking of DGB price.
I don't see any sign for reversal, it just continue getting hammered down. I can tell this is extremely risky to enter on DGB, yes it is cheap, bottom already, but what if it sill do another dump and bottom again? Really difficult.
4524  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Really bad beginner mistake with bitcoin. Plz HELP on: January 05, 2021, 05:15:33 AM
(....)
I think the easiest thing for a beginner to use is coinbase and a trezor to keep coins on. Coinbase is easy to change to coins fiat and your bank account. You also get a coinbase pro account where you have access to a real exchange where you can do things like limit and stop orders plus you get to buy many different alts there seamlessly.
I understand you about being a beginner.
But the problem of OP here are "not your keys, not your coins", he got a problem about ownership of his/her Bitcoin since the Bitcoin he owned is on centralized exchange and it clearly shows that you really don't own your Bitcoin there and centralized entity may steal your Bitcoin.
About Coinbase, I believe that it is still a centralized exchange.
But you can use Coinbase to buy Bitcoin and transfer your Bitcoin on non custodian Bitcoin wallet so you have the full control on your funds.
4525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tyler Winklevoss shilling for ETH? on: January 05, 2021, 05:09:58 AM
I believe that Winklevoss twins are also a hodler of Ethereum and some major altcoins.
Tyler Winklevoss is just using his popularity ofcourse to pump his bags, and I am thankful he is not doing it on some random shitcoins.
Speaking of shilling, people now are more educated and already learned from their experiences about following every other random people on the internet what to buy or what to sell. These kinds of activities may not effective now or in the future.
4526  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What could be bitcoin next step lets discuss together on: January 05, 2021, 05:04:25 AM
I also think there will be a correction, but I do not think it will decrease to $ 20k.
(....)
This is the most awaited of majority, the correction, so they will start to hop in..
Some correction may be a huge red wick, just like what happened yesterday which we saw a lot of long positions got liquidated for the drop to around $28,000, but we saw the price back again above $30,000.
I am looking forward for Bitcoin to pullback or stays neutral.
4527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I recall doing some recreational btc mining a few years ago. Don't recall where on: January 04, 2021, 07:59:12 AM
Was that BTC mining or some other mining?
(...)
This also pop on my mind, maybe OP misunderstood Bitcoin mining before, because as I remember, there are lot scam way back before that talking about Bitcoin mining, such as "cloud mining" which you will just deposit your Bitcoin and wait for it, no hardware bought and installed.

For OP, you should be more clear and specific, did you tried to use some hardware before to mine Bitcoin? Do you remember setting up your own Bitcoin wallet before?
4528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $Bitcoin is first, $Eth is second, which of these should be in my 3rd place? on: January 04, 2021, 07:55:17 AM
i was thinking of xrp but due to its issue i really think he could get the top 3 spot i think it's either bnb coin or maybe polkadot coin? well eos and bet coin is good investment too.
I don't think for Ripple, Ripple already hammered by major altcoins especially Litecoin and Ethereum, I rather go for Litecoin than Ripple.
Speaking of Bitcoin, $50,000 is really impossible, I think the FOMO is not yet starting. There are still lot of people want to buy Bitcoin even some people are waiting for some corrections.
4529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC Dominance 70.4% in CoinMarketCap. Do I need to exchange BTC to ETH? on: January 04, 2021, 03:28:35 AM

It seems like the 70+ level was rejected and I believe that this was the reason why we saw recently a huge pump for some altcoins, like Ethereum.
If you can check the August 2019, there you saw also the rejection from same level now.
So what I am speculating on Bitcoin now is, Bitcoin will do sideways or dump, then alt season will start?
It's still difficult, since there are still lot of buyers for Bitcoin even how expensive now.
4530  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Crash issues on: January 04, 2021, 03:18:45 AM
When you say verify signatures, are you saying to click on it and copy and paste the PGP signature or just click on it?
You can check here on how to verify the electrum signature : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5130429.0
Just make sure you download it to the official website of electrum.

What’s the best way to uninstall everything. Also, I don’t have my seed info. Just the password so I’m skeptical. I’ve been finagling with it for over four hours now.
If you are using MacOS, you can go to the list of applications and then find and remove the Electrum application.

Is your wallet already have Bitcoin? Or you already used it for some transactions?
If you still don't have Bitcoins there or not used, you can forget it and create a new one and the first thing you will do is to backup the seed first before funding your wallet.
4531  Economy / Speculation / Re: another major resistance broke and the FOMO began on: January 04, 2021, 03:01:09 AM
Some people may start to worry about their exits (if not for long term). Some may start to worry where to sell or exit their positions. But for me, I am not that worried, I am for long term here.
But I am curious about the FOMO for every broken resistance.
How we can identify when the FOMO will start or just like what happened in 2017, it was really a huge parabolic run for Bitcoin  then a huge drop happened immediately.
4532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Really bad beginner mistake with bitcoin. Plz HELP on: January 04, 2021, 02:57:00 AM
Do you still remember your account details in Robinhood? Those funds are important, you should still able to login in your account.
I agree with figmentofmyass, that even you may not able to withdraw a real Bitcoin there atleast if you liquidate your account to fiat, you will still able to receive some profits and you can use those to buy actual Bitcoin.
Alternative wallet for your Bitcoin is a hardware wallet, go try to explore some, just like Trezor and Ledger hardware wallets.
4533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polkadot is the new ETH on: January 03, 2021, 10:15:54 PM
For what I can see on Polkadot, it is still early. The project is still young.
Goals of Polkadot are some features didn't or difficult to achieve by Ethereum.
I hold some Polkadot, but it small allocation from my portfolio and to be honest, if I bought Bitcoin instead of Polkadot before, I have much more returns. And I am somehow disappointed because I have some Bitcoin before that has converted with Polkadot, but it's ok for now, I'll just ride the flow.
4534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Alt Season still possible? on: January 02, 2021, 12:09:16 AM
Is #AltSzn still possible?
As what happened on some major huge marketcap altcoins are being hammered these past few days, just like what happened on Ripple about SEC issue and som privacy coins being delisted on some exchanges.
I am worried about what some people are waiting for a long time, the alt season, where we can see a huge price action or pump for some altcoins, huge marketcap or small.
What's your thoughts on alt season? Do history repeat itself?
4535  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bittrex delisting XMR, DASH and ZEC. Will this affect Bitcoin? on: January 01, 2021, 11:55:43 PM
This sad news is kinda the same with what happened on XRP about SEC issue, a huge dump also happened.
Bittrex and followed by some major exchanges just Binance, I think the dump will still continue just what happened on Ripple.
I am very thankful I am already done looking forward to covert my Bitcoin to some privacy coins, just like XMR and ZEC.
Having this issue, being a good privacy coin of Monero and ZCASH will no effect, I believe these privacy coins are quality and still useful.
4536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Experience As A Bounty Hunter on: January 01, 2021, 10:37:09 AM
Bounty campaigns are already different now compare with previous years, like year 2017 and below.
There are some bounty hunters who already stopped after the huge dump after 2017-2018 bull market, which lead most of the bounty tokens being worthless or some bounty campaigns ended not paying the bounty hunters.
What I want to see in the future is they will become more responsible soon, avoid promoting some suspicious projects, although it is kinda difficult to identify.
4537  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Found that Russian sellers are scamming on ebay by selling bitcoin on: January 01, 2021, 09:50:52 AM
I sort of find this hard to understand. Why would someone head over to eBay to buy or sell Bitcoin, yet we have so many exchanges that can serve the same purpose while guaranteeing safely of one's funds to some extent?
These people who are using eBay to buy Bitcoin may not really that techy or not really know what Bitcoin is.
I already saw before like this, but on different online shop, not on eBay, the product is really an amount of Bitcoin then you will buy it with different payment method based on the online shop or the seller.
This kind of problem is difficult to supervise by Ebay on their own platform, they may minimize but cannot totally remove or avoid.
4538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Governance tokens - how'd they help? on: December 31, 2020, 07:41:07 AM
Governance tokens may be centralized on different aspect.
Since governance token can be success or driven by holders of the token, so if you own a huge amount of tokens then you have a big allocation for voting, your vote is very huge, this is one of the problems I can see with governance tokens for being a centralized.
4539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NFL have their first player played in bitcoin on: December 30, 2020, 10:28:51 AM
I already followed this guy on twitter for long time ago.
I just known that this guy is a NFL player, just wow. If you are updated on his tweets about Bitcoin, you can really see that he is for long term on Bitcoin.
I admire this guy because he is not some personalities who are just become a fan of Bitcoin once Bitcoin already in bull run not for this guy or some popular Twitter accounts that even on dumps and pumps of Bitcoin they are there.
4540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Polkadot surges after Binance Home Page Listing on: December 30, 2020, 10:22:34 AM
I am surprised for what happened on Polkadot recently, it already created a new all-time-high. A very huge percentage gained in just a short period of time.

What my attention got was the involvement of Binance exchange;
Quote
DOT really took off, however, on Dec. 28 after Twitter users noticed the ETH/BUSD pair on Binance's homepage had been replaced by the DOT/BUSD pair, giving DOT a lot more exposure.

This is kinda different advertisement of Binance, do you believe that this Binance homepage exposure is the only reason of the pump or the 10m usd Binance donation to support the Polkadot?
