4521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Found of Yearn Finance trying to be used by crypto community on: October 13, 2020, 11:12:34 PM
No, I'm not going to donate, sorry.

On the contrary, I'm not really sure if this is a good idea, yes, you file a lawsuit and then what? It only only back fire on them as regulators may put their hands on the DeFi hype now because of this instances and this can set a precedence causing the death of DeFi itself. And I'm also have doubts about the crowd-funding, I don't know I have a feeling that something is not right here.

4523  Other / Beginners & Help / Twitter hack: Be careful with your account as attacks are increasing on: October 12, 2020, 11:38:00 PM
It was seen that someone's twitter account was hack and then promoted a bitcoin doubler. This used to be the tactics of cyber criminals in Youtube as it was reported that the activities started Massive wave of account hijacks hits YouTube creators. Yes, we are all familiar with the recent Twitter breach, but the difference is that this is a wide spread attack now, so anyone can become a victim.

I'm not saying that these criminals have shift, but more likely twitter might be easy to hack now through their phishing email attempts. So if you used this platform, so just be careful and this is a warning.

I'm not a follower of this account, but this is one example and definitely won't be the last twitter hack. So when the hacker takes over your attack, the obvious thing, Elon Musk is screaming all over with his supposedly bitcoin giveaways. This account has 230k followers.

4524  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are the big funds washing money of btc? on: October 12, 2020, 10:53:58 PM
Are they are going to washing money to dump btc and other cryptocurrency in USA?

Is USA going to be dumping ground for dark markets and btc scammers and whales?
That's why the Fidelity and grave scale will buy btc?

To burry btc in USA?
This seems like a tough thought to answer, and like a conspiracy, if indeed the USA wants to bury BTC,
of course this conspiracy is scary, and we know that cases of money laundering in cryptocurrencies occur very often,
and that's natural, because there is no regulation yet, Bitcoin is still a tool of crime,

Nothing Scary life is business!
Those big guys who wear nice suits and smile nice not some angels!

Dark side is alalways there!

As we know dark people want to sell their btc  for good profit and whst they need is liqutity*

But it doesn't make sense if we go by your theory though, yes dark web will be dark web and no matter how hard authorities are tracking down, it will flourish. But it doesn't mean that this corporate boys are going to take advantage of it because there is huge risk on their end. If they want to liquidate and dump and make profit they will use other channels. So US, will not be a dumping ground and if they did, regulators are watching.
4525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: would deflation economy give defi a boost? on: October 12, 2020, 10:15:47 PM
Well we have a lot of deflationary tokens that become successful, so it's no secret that this method really works. But still boils down to the project itself, you can't just used one model and then burn the tokens to looks like it is deflationary. So it's not entirely clear unless your project is really that good, sort of a game changer in the market. If not then it will be just another project buying his time in the crypto bubble and trying to get a piece of the pie, so it is still a hard sell, in my opinion.
4526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Have you been monitoring your bitcointalk activities ever? on: October 12, 2020, 09:59:12 PM
I do check my logs when I discovered this forum's features, so I'm sure there are some people who do it, specially those who are paranoid and always thinks that a hack is always possible. So I will say that this is a good practice specially the next day you login, you have to monitor if there is a suspicious IP logs and in cases that you have been breach, hackers can do it,

4527  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on recent move of 1000 coins mined back in 2010? on: October 12, 2020, 09:41:29 PM
We really don't know what's the real reason behind the move, maybe he just wanted to move to a new address format or whatever, but as the article have said, the price is not unfazed by this news, and on the contrary, we are going to $12k so no negative effect. If I just say my thoughts on these kind of whale alerts, I don't like it, seems to be being used by crypto media to create FUD when they so some huge movement.

Bitcoin is trading above the USD 10,550 and USD 10,650 support levels. Having said that, BTC is approaching a crucial breakout zone near USD 10,800 and USD 10,950. The price is currently (08:30 UTC) trading well above USD 10,650 and it seems to be preparing for the next major move.

Similarly, most major altcoins are approaching important levels, including ethereum, XRP, litecoin, bitcoin cash, EOS, XLM, LINK, BNB, TRX, and ADA. ETH/USD climbed above the USD 350 level, but it is struggling to clear the main USD 355 resistance (previous breakdown zone). XRP/USD gained pace above the USD 0.254 and USD 0.255 resistance levels.

4529  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price fundamentals in ‘moon mode’ as BTC held on exchanges drops on: October 11, 2020, 10:23:00 PM
There whole speculation is based of crypto exchanges having less crypto being held in their system and assuming that people who have withdrawn cryptocurrencies are holding it in their cold storages. I'm not against their assumption but for me in order for this to be true they must at least track the transactions and see if it stayed in that address and it didn't move around after because if it did it will only show that people are not hodling cryptocurrencies but instead using it on other purposes. I don't even think that most traders using exchanges right now are using this kind of way to hold cryptocurrencies as generally from what I know they still buy and hodl their cryptocurrencies directly in the exchanges to avoid fees.
Yeah, so it is still inconclusive, because we really don't know what happens to those withdrawn crypto. Maybe the owner move it around and re-invest on altcoins, cash it out or just HODL. Again, this kind of data set doesn't mean anything for now because it can't be track. So this metric could be one of those that it just being used to fit our bullish narrative, which is bad in my opinion.
4530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese central bank to airdrop 10 million digital yuan on: October 11, 2020, 10:00:12 PM
seeing this news I like seeing a bright future for crypto & blockchain technology, if this is officially launched then the US will lose one step from China.
They already did, it you look at the blockchain patents, Report: Blockchain Patents 'Skyrocket' in 2020, Alibaba Owns the Most Crypto Patents.

Quote
While Alibaba and IBM were the top two blockchain patent filing contenders in 2020, Alibaba outpaced IBM by 10x the number of patents. Moreover, this year has already seen “3 times more blockchain patents published than in 2018.”

After 70% success being a cashless country now, China is making fast strides, it seems like they already predict that cryptocurrency is the future of the world's currency.
China has been cashless country for years now, it's just accelerated because of the pandemic and now that they are in the hurry to have their Digital Yuan go live extending test phase this year and then full blown next year.
4531  Other / Off-topic / Re: Tennis G O A T: Who Will Eventually Be Considered the Greatest of These Three? on: October 11, 2020, 09:41:09 PM
Hard to say though we will be the GOAT amongst this three. But in so far as Grand Slams goes, Nadal can overtake Federer and then Djokovic will do the same in the next 2-3 years. In seems that Djokovic seems to be the fresher of the 3 so he has better chances of staying for the game more than Federer and Nadal. But Nadal could be consider as the best in clay surface, no doubt about it.

But if Djokovic bested the record and won the most Grand Slams then my vote goes to Novak Djokovic. Also in the total weeks as number 1 Djokovic is second behind only to Federer, but as I have said, he also has the potential to break that, he just needed like 40 weeks to stay in the number 1 spot. And he seems to be unreachable despite the lost to Nadal in French Open this year. He will remain as number 1 at the end of the year.
4532  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM installed at Elon Musk’s Tesla Gigafactory on: October 11, 2020, 09:24:10 PM
Interesting but nothing of significant, just another regular bitcoin ATM, it's just so happened to be installed on Elon's factory. And besides, we really don't know who put in there, it could be Elon or just some bitcoin ATM enthusiast who so happens, was able to negotiate himself to install it at Tesla Gigafactory. We have so many bitcoin ATM's across the US, and as far as being bullish, we are, but nothing can be attributed to a single installed bitcoin ATM. Besides, there are a lot of drawbacks if you transact into it, high fees, etc.
4533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 10, 2020, 11:50:36 PM
It will be Nadal vs Djokovic in the Finals, this is all we have been waiting for in the French Open this year. My boy Tsitsipas is nothing to be ashamed of his performance, he really push Djokovic to his limit, unfortunately it's not enough.

Can Djokovic stop Nadal? I think Nadal is more motivated to prove that he is still the king of clay against Djokovic.

As I mentioned in my post before the match, I said that we could see Tsitsipas push Djokovic and take a set or two off him which he did so I hope some got on this bet. I was really hoping that Tsitsipas would win but again when he has all the momentum going for him and looks like he could win the match he lets himself down with a poor 5th set. Anyway I think he will take a lot of experience out of this years French Open as he has shown us that he has improved a lot on clay and could be a danger for next years clay season.
Actually the match is already in the bag for Djokovic in the third, he was serving for the match up 5-4, but Tsitsipas comeback strong in the next 2 games, but I think it drain him that's why in the five set, he was dry and flat out.

I think Nadal wins this and makes it 20 grand slam titles to equal Federer in the year 2020.

And beating Djokovic the number 1 seed, will make this victory sweeter for his 20 grand slams in 2020.
4534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SEC Commisioner Pierce: Crypto landscape is changing on: October 10, 2020, 11:37:10 PM
According to an interview to her by Cointelegraph, she says that the crypto landing is evolving. I do hope though that the changes she is talking about will be more on a positive upside to us.

Quote
“While we’ve been very slow in giving guidance, there is more and more interest from a wide spectrum of people, both inside the crypto space as well as inside the traditional financial institutions who are asking us for guidance. So I think we’re going to be forced to confront that more and more in the coming years.”

And as per the DeFi hype

Quote
“We need to be thinking about what we can bring to that as a regulator, where is it important for us to play a role. And that’s a conversation that not only we at the SEC need to be having, but as DeFi develops, society needs to be thinking about those kinds of questions too. And Congress needs to be thinking about those kinds of questions so that we can get from them directives on how they want us to handle some of these things.”

Ok so it seems that they are closely monitoring this DeFi thingy so I wouldn't be surprised if the DeFi bubbles and then SEC stepping up, in my opinion.

4536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 10, 2020, 10:25:37 PM
I watched the highlights of the game, they played too late for me  Embarrassed.
Was able to catch the last 5-6 minutes of the game, it was intensed.

I saw the Lakers in the final quarter and IMHO they threw away the game, that could be a win. The missed for example the final possesion  Roll Eyes.

Unexpected 3-2.
Agree, they squander a lot of chance opportunities, costly turnovers, Morris throwing the ball and then Green unable to hit that important 3's in his career. If ever Miami wins this, it will really devastated LA franchise as they suit up the Mamba jersey but failed to deliver. But still they're the favorite but Miami is making it harder for them to win this season.
4537  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez Lightweight Unification fight on: October 10, 2020, 09:40:51 PM
The fight is going to be exciting since these two will fight for the unification title. Have you guys seen the new trailer on YouTube by TopRank Boxing? Lomachenko wanted to own the three belts for himself and I think he has the advantage for this fight if he won't gonna mess up in the ring when the fight begins.

I think Lomachenko is right in thinking that he got the match in the 'bag', he is going to win. The reason I say this is because I have seen him fight, I've seen his style and there's no way he's going to lose. He's known as the best in his weight division. That's what sparks my opinion on the outcome of this match.

Teofimo is good and I'm sure he will challenge Lomachenko but I don' think he's at Loma's level. Let's see how this plays out, my bet is on Loma.
I respect your belief about Lomachenko words to have the fight in the bag but you of all people should know that boxing fight is not won by statements which are hype base and I did some research about sports professional these days some of them seems to be affected by the COVID 19 issues reason which i guess was lack of proper training or the quarantine make them partake in some activities they ought to desist.
On the contrary though, the covid-19 effect could have a positive impact to fighters as they are isolated and could train really hard for their upcoming fights? But I do agree that Lopez has chance to win, we have seen fights in the past wherein it was in the last round that a fighter change the outcome of the game. However though, boxing fans sees Lomachenko technical abilities superior to Lopez, that's why a one sided fight in favor of Lomachenko is anticipated.
I agree with what you said but I only dont agree with the aspect of the conclusion about the fight that's yet to kick-off and from my own point of  view despite all technical abilities of Loma, Lopez also has the chance of winning the fight until the fight come to an end.
Definitely, Lopez has chance, perhaps the opinion is coming from Loma's past performance on how he dismantle his opponents not just physically but mentally as well (big advantage, imo), making them say no mas to him. Anyway, the fight is just a couple of weeks from now, there could be some disagreements, but it will be eventually settled in the ring, and obviously Lopez is the underdog in this fight.
4538  Economy / Speculation / Re: history loves repeating itself. the only question is when! on: October 10, 2020, 09:22:03 PM
I remember that there was a lot of FOMO when we hit $10k, and then that's it, we didn't have a break out run until in the last 24 to 48 hours where the price suddenly broke $11k again and then to resist to go down but instead goes to $11.3. So is this FOMO to $11k? maybe, but perhaps just another step and then we will see another jump to $12k and then it goes on and on again. I think it's just a matter of time again to see another breakout leading to $12k-$14k at the end of the year.

Thanks for the warning mate, as the Uniswap hype continues and so is the scammer in their ecosystem creating fake tokens. I do hope that no one fall victim, as for sure these scammers are going to run off with investors money again. For investors, it's really our job to not just blindly invest on the Uniswap hype, check everything first, it will take some time for you, but I'm sure if will be worth instead of losing your hard earn money to this scammers.
