4561  Economy / Speculation / Re: small price correction after this bullrun on: April 21, 2021, 02:27:16 PM
Its trading below the 50 day average, its less positive then it ended last week with so it appears we need to develop further and revise prices.    I'd be more confident of a resumption to price rising when back above the 50 day average, I did previously think we had to go back to the 200 day average but Im not sure it will require that or not now.    Meanwhile 200 day will risen quite alot so its  no longer too much of a negative, 25k would be a large negative to many so thats the outlier outcome I would expect to occur and still be relatively normal in most years as a low

gas tracker

Can you suggest one to me or post what you use because I have no doubt in future I'll be in a rush looking for one and running into all kinds of unreliable sites.  For Bitcoin I most often check a twitter feed where they post the most viable fees vs time frames it might actually be picked up.   This morning it took hundreds of sats per byte to get anything moved hours later, I dont think thats especially a working system really because the bulk of genuine revenue and trade resides with the normal average people who arent especially rich and will just go elsewhere and lose crypto business.
4563  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low could Bitcoin go this time? after all good news is out on: April 20, 2021, 12:00:02 AM
About 50% is usually the normal negative take on sell offs and I would say any push past that to lower prices is more obviously a time to buy with less hesitation as it relates better to long term prospects even if you had to wait years it wouldnt be totally wrong.    Obviously more examination of the chart at that time vs other measures such as FIAT, interest rates, inflation and any other competing standards.

Right now price is descending below a 2 day average price, it has lost momentum for the moment which is a large part of the fastest gains.   That can just mean we need to revise lower prices, reset this momentum to steady price expectations then start over and thats happened a few times already this year.    Most obvious underlining to YTD lows has been 50 day average I think, I've heard others mention 20 EMA also.
4564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: April 19, 2021, 11:56:48 PM
I looked up ETH today for some holding I have and its approaching 50 dollars which because Im not rich is too much to consider.    LTC was more reasonable still and one I found always worth checking was ETC though nothing is perfect now.
I have been using BCH lately and honestly speaking in regards to the fees Roger Ver is definitely right. BTC can't be used if you are not a high stakes player. BCH works fine.

He is not all wrong but splitting the base and forking was not right either, he would have won more battles staying within the space rather then trying to force anyone to agree with him.   Ultimately the miners decided BTC was the correct direction which is as close to democracy that this space is going to get which means he needs to keep trying to peacefully compete and suggest improvements rather then derailing the main blockchain which seems to be his tactics.   That just makes him wrong and a problem rather then aid at that point, Im not sure he did anything useful as we already had alternative blockchains so I do disagree with his idea to declare himself the true definition of Bitcoin.

So long as he got a payoff before he hits 1000 attempts then its a success for him but theres no guarantee it pays off at all, nice hype to try for a stream.   Thats alot of money he has to commit just to test his even average odds nevermind the worst case where he must go past normal amount of attempts to win.

That makes Bitcoin unsuitable for smaller transactions (i.e <$20).

People are arguing BTC is not to be used for transactions in that way only in final settlement of a tab or bill paid over months that kind of thing.   That relies on credit and good will within those companies to customer relationships.    It seems obvious to me crypto overall needs to develop further, add more detail to payment layers to enable all parts of an economy.  I firmly believe the smallest entities of an economy are the most vital to have within crypto as the smallest businesses are the most able to double their size and revenue in one year and crypto requires that growth to justify itself.   If we get stuck on whales trading it will end badly imo

They are multiple times richer then me, this is not new news to me but I've done multiple bets previously on different account on different sites and it came in useful because you can hedge against yourself.   Also years ago Ive used it to transfer money, its especially relevant in these difficult times that because of the fees to move money manually you may find arbitrage is a cheaper way to realize profits in just one account.   In my case it was all separate companies so fine as far as I know, I dont know it causes a problem in any situation but obviously best to check.  Theres most often a spread cost to that, its not a free idea really just 'in extremis'
Funny thing is I was reading about a blockchain recently that cleverly avoids transfer costs by utilizing purposeful burn proof as an alternative to proof of work, literally they put this into a protocol as a more efficient process which is not something I've read of before in an automated way, anyhow crypto is always interesting to be part of Smiley

Is there a difference for bitcoin outside china?

China often doesnt follow international laws and regulations so its not a new suggestion to avoid anything produced there and that includes Bitcoin which could be related to the large amount of smog and coal they burn for energy and other various pollution.   In theory they've agreed to reduce emissions recently I think, in practice they will run a double book on actual practice and reported figures.
Pretty sure I read of more then one fund that promised to source only BTC mined elsewhere or verified renewable energy.   Its still a reasonable question that mined blocks are not diversified to avoid bias and failure.

I got 3600 lottery tickets just now, from the bonus 10 tickets given today.   Wasnt sure I'd get them credited as my deposit took almost 4 hours to clear even though it had a sat per byte in the hundreds when sent, state of the union :p

Significant question on trend here around 55k, not saying its for good reason overall but a reversal at the top there is technically far from ideal on a chart.

you could have literally made 5000 doge per day

I believe it, doge was super cheap at times.  1 sat per coin then boomed to 200 sat then right back down again.   Theres been plenty of times available to pick it up and store it.   I had a dogetip bot collection on reddit for ages and lots of us used to use it there but unfortunately it collapsed as the person running it all 'decided' to operate it with fractional reserve.   I was one of the lucky ones who happened to withdraw it and exchanged it to some other coin I forgot, too many did that so it forced him to admit he couldnt pay everyone their actual balance.   Lost some trust there because alot of doge people were on reddit but of course thats not the real network.

Competition is healthy and its best for both countries to compete and have good industry and Im just not sure how much respect China has for the region in general when it assumes an entire sea belongs to them because of a name.  Its potentially dangerous for Asia for the whole world if China cannot stay within their own borders, they were friends with Vietnam before later being involved in a brief war with them also.

Stats bot readout for today.

current president would support is his daughter

Thats nepotism possibility in my cynical view, not something to desire usually in terms  of respecting the best chances for any democracy.
4571  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never go below $50,000 again on: April 19, 2021, 03:46:30 PM
People who say things like this either havent been around long enough to know better or are willing failure by arguing perfection where it doesnt exist.   Volatility obviously means both directions not only upwards, if we agree Bitcoin can be erratic in a positive way then its only realistic to admit it can mirror this downwards also and it doesnt mean it stays at below 50k but it can trade below there without too much required imo.

Above 55k I dont think anything much happens this week but also breaking upwards from 60k later falling back like this appears badly; top of a ladder is the most dangerous step. A failed move can lead to reversal if you think technical patterns matter but I've not seen anyone warn on that as the Sunday or weekly close wasnt so bad as it could have been but imo it can develop that way if it drags on.

It probably isnt safe to keep taking knocks to the head for this period of time but if he can dodge the blows and win anyway then I guess he can survive a little bit longer to cash in on his reputation and experience.

The current president of Philippines do have insanely high approval levels (Rodrigo Duterte) and the only reason he is not running in the 2022 elections is due to term limitation.

Putin had term limits and it didnt stop him unfortunately, the system is always more important then the popularity of one person so I hope a good representative is found for a strong party with new ideas to compete with China because thats very much needed in the region for sure.
4573  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don’t Panic V on: April 19, 2021, 10:51:43 AM
Its lost momentum but I agree its not properly bearish for now.  Just retracted from 2 day average overhead but well ahead on fib levels of the larger section of the fall.

56k and 55k represents quite easily somewhere it should trade above today to keep confidence going forward.  I expect it to build maybe drift but ultimately continue on and then we see some selling at 60k before its properly decided on this bearish idea for this month.   Daily and weekly bars closed just within a more positive area, it recovered enough probably.

I always thought Logan had a puncher's chance against Mayweather.

Without a lucky punch or some lack of training, poor health it shouldn't be a thing maybe the odds of Logan beating Mayweather is less then 1 in 100 most days but always keep an eye on lax training for some possibility because obviously its a big pay off in potential especially in live odds after fight start if you can identify any potential for a lucky swing; who knows in an exhibition match what goes down.

I got way less then 16k I dont know how you did that without being signed up 10 years.   Dont think I kept any old account I had and mostly didnt use it

I remember a couple of years ago, I was clicking on faucets giving 100 satoshis every 5 minutes and it seemed so little so I stopped doing this quite quickly...

Anything less then 1 coin is not worth the hassle, words immortal repeated forever lol   Used to mine on a website just to see what it was about, lots of little sites like that ages ago before red tape and fee problems were there, had it built in and used the CPU and Im sure it spat out like 0.008 after a few hours but for some reason I didnt withdraw that balance not sure I even saved the website address as who cares about tiny amounts like that when the price was 30 dollars or whatever.   I was definitely never around when whole coins was easy to get.   If I type freebitco into my address bar now it still appears with the mining url in there as I did save that to my favorites I guess but by the time I had that and saved the proceeds it was way less because (effective) cpu mining was gone a long time ago the difficulty really spiked in 2013 but appears nothing now.    In 2018 when the BTC price went like 3k was anybody that enthusiastic about collecting the faucet, dont think its ever been a thing but I always clicked the button.  Pretty sure I've won way more making event bets really.

2.99 bet with 200$ possible to win 614,65$   Bet on Unikrn

Used to bet with Unikrn all the time but they wanted proof of address and all sorts, seems completely unnecessary for me a quite low pleb bettor, Im a long way from being maxamillion break the bank type that might even have to be of concern for taxes or whatever anyway.   Not worth the hassle so havent used them for ages, shame as I had some good luck there.   I wasnt even using crypto, they have completely arbitrary tokens but I guess they had aspirations to market the company and my simple daily bet good times changed.  The part owner is Marc Cuban on shark tank I think

Bad News Bears vs Triumph, I will go with bears its one to watch a little bet a little to decide for future games.
4577  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low could the next bear market move bitcoin? on: April 18, 2021, 02:46:31 PM
It wont likely happen all at once, the path to a much lower price is multiple tests and confirmation downwards.   So right now price is recovery, failing in that recovery leads further down and so on.  It snowballs as it becomes something of a trend and people add in some weight to that sell until it breaks in some way and likely overshoots downwards otherwise we are just wandering back and forth.

Move past 55k and stay there for daily and weekly bars and we can speak further

just quoting my past estimate because half my reason to post is to revise and decide my take on forthcoming moves, I dont think we are fully bearish by this measure:

4578  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low could the next bear market move bitcoin? on: April 18, 2021, 11:32:58 AM
What I find slightly interesting here is the list of bearish thread titles is pretty minimal, so nobody reacting to the fall does that make it a storm in a tea cup or some indication the fallout has not yet hit especially.    Froth at the tops is when people wont shut up about 1 mil a coin and other fantastical pipe dreams and the lows might be a constant drudge of negative threads its over etc.
We got people not caring about the fall for now anyhow which is some indicator to me, its a technical blip and reverses quick before weekly bar close perhaps or we continue in some trend down till people cry about it etc.

He doesnt have to throw, he just has to be lazy in doing any training vs somebody who did.    He probably already has enough money in retirement this is just the icing and has no concerns or obligation to actually put on much of a fight, pretty poor performance but he did what he was paid for I guess.   Its better to bet on a fight as part of a career I guess.

I got the 3600 level prize +360, on RP just now but I still got another 25 wheel spins left because I've been busy a few days.   Its not so rare if you stack up wheel spins via FUN holding, I was getting it once a day for a while.
BTC price fell over night on some worries so it raises the level of all the prizes, time to clear backlog :p   I could do them all at once but I prefer one by one, makes them last longer Cheesy   no captcha on those but lately the free spin has been asking me to assess women's clothing design; the greatest challenge Ive had yet in life a true test of humanity.

captcha format has changed
I prefer variety and it is true if they stand still scammers just engineer a way past it and thats how we end up taking 5 minutes frustrated to pass some ridiculously awkward test, I'd rather they just alter it a bit when need be.
