4561  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-12] Bitcoin (BTC) Will Hit $20,000 Again “Without Question”: CNBC’s on: April 12, 2019, 12:30:20 PM
When the CNBC says something regarding Bitcoin, do the opposite.
The subliminal message in this article is that users should be ready for a correction in the next coming days or weeks. Bookmark the OP and come back the next month to see. You should consider the recent rise as temporary.
4562  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase now has its own debit card on: April 12, 2019, 11:58:50 AM
@timerland
Without a banking licence, Coinbase can't issue its own Visa/Mastercard. Like all other similar services offering a card, they need to use a 3rd party. But I won't be surprised if Coinbase gets a license within 5 years, it has been developing in this direction for several months.

Visa is just trying to get a bite of the new game.

Personally I against Coinbase after all the shit they put lately and Visa is a bank. Any product coming  from this combination can't be good for us.

Avoid.
Visa doesn't have much to do with it, it's a deal between Coinbase and Paysafe. BTW, Visa is not a bank .
4563  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $10k Before June, Possible? on: April 12, 2019, 11:43:24 AM

So $10k in 2 months? It's possible but i'm not sure is it will happen or not. The price of bitcoin increase from $4k to $5k in 1 week last week but when i look at the market right now, it's going down again. So it's possible to hit $10k before June but the chance is not big.

In cryptoworld everything seems possible, we have seen a market goes up so high in just a matter of a day.  The recent event only takes 4 hours when someone bought 20k BTC. If sentiment in the market increase and FOMO kicks in, who know maybe $15k on June is possible.  But for me, I think $6k - $7k is probable.

Technically and theoretically yes it is surely possible, nothing prevents it anyway, but I prefer to remain realistic. June is coming in a few weeks. If the BTC has to earn $5,000 in value to reach $10,000, that's almost $1,000 a week. In the current state of the market, I doubt that this will happen in practice.
4564  Economy / Speculation / Re: ‘In Crypto We Trust’: Circle CEO Pumps Blockchain at IMF Meeting on: April 11, 2019, 10:15:34 PM
If someone is interested to watch this IMF meeting, it's an interesting one https://meetings.imf.org/en/2019/Spring/Schedule/2019/04/10/imf-seminar-money-and-payments-in-the-digital-age?cid=sm-com-tw-DigitalPayments

“Banks will have to adopt to survive, or disappear.”
I agree with her and the trend is "digital" she admits it... Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies fit exactly in this trend of a digitalized economy and she should start to realize and admit that.

SMF hasn't been updated since 2011. But I like it still, nobody @Rickeo mentioned VBulletin but it's one I don't like. Tons of features, finally you use the forum for something else than discussing with people.

4566  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-04-11]Bitcoin is Too Young to be Used by Terrorists, Report Shows on: April 11, 2019, 08:05:07 PM
"terrorist" is a word used for anything today, as soon as you're naughty.

This is not because Bitcoin is too young it's rather because it is more convenient for them to use banknotes than Bitcoins. You can say anything but in the end, it's the banknotes they need. There is no need to be part of corporation research to get this.
4567  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase now has its own credit card on: April 11, 2019, 07:27:13 PM
Currently only available to the U.K citizens, unfortunately, but I hope it will expand soon enough. I wonder how many new customers this card will bring to the company, Coinbase becomes really big. At least, I expect this solution will last a little longer than advcash and others. The card is issued by Paysafe.

No BTC logo on the card  Embarrassed I can do that with my bank, irony...
4568  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Lolli Chrome Extension - Bitcoin Cashback for Online Shopping on: April 11, 2019, 06:09:49 PM
90 days is an average delay, when it's about a ticket plane bought it can be 6 months. But users don't care about this usually.

The site earns an affiliate commission to bring new customer. (like if for example, you own a blog and earn a CPA commission).
Let say someone buy for $100 on a store, the cashback site earns 5% then it gives 4% to the person and keep the 1%. Their profits come from this percentage

"Partnership" is a bit exaggerated, there is no direct partnership between the cashback sites and the brands/stores. They use affiliation platforms like Awin, Maxbounty, Sharesale.

I use quite a lot cashback sites but none with BTC in, because they only focus on tier 1 countries (USA-Canada-UK-Australia)
4570  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bottomed out ? TA analysis. on: April 11, 2019, 01:24:40 PM
The value has lost something like $200 or $300 in just one day which makes me think that despite analyses, predictions or statistics there is currently something unnatural that is causing this volatility that doesn't fit with the current market, the BTC value and/or other things.
I mean, we currently have a volatility rate that we had before when Bitcoin went from $15k to $20k (for example).

@Saint-loup

4573  Economy / Economics / Re: There's nothing more happier than seeing your bitcoin price going up! on: April 10, 2019, 04:14:20 PM
People who bought bitcoins for 10k 15k 20k are still far to be happy. It surely gives them a little hope but they shouldn't have any in order to avoid any unpleasant surprises and disappointment. And I think all these people will liquidate all their coins as soon as they reach their BEP and will leave without ROI, or at least won't continue with the same risk level.
4574  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CEXs & DEXs on: April 10, 2019, 11:00:29 AM
It's true that the volumes are too low to attract people and it can also be difficult for some people to use. It's already hard enough to convince them of the advantages of using a DEX and the low volumes do not make it easy for them to do so, nor does their lack of exposure. Not everyone is interested in Atomic swap, fiats still rule at the end.
4575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How big is the role of the government in the development of Bitcoin? on: April 10, 2019, 09:13:12 AM
We do not need governments for Bitcoin's evolution. For about ten years now, the ecosystem has been able to create and develop itself without the help of any government or other institution.

In terms of adoption, yes, it would indeed help Bitcoin to be used more and more, but we can do it without it. It's just a matter of time, you don't let yourself be overwhelmed by the fact that all these regulations help Bitcoin because it's not true, it's actually the opposite.

If we build a decentralized environment, whether, in the form of currency or something else, it is not to let in those for whom we are trying to get rid of.

banks continue to innovate and banks continue to keep abreast of developments in the era that make them continue to be strong

Not to be strong but to not fall the profits lower than that.

The banking sector market has to deal with a new type of banks for about ten years, the neobanks. While they weren't taken seriously in the early days they took a serious percentage of the market now. Banks started losing million and to face competition they had no choice but to adapt. By doing what the neobanks do(most banks have their own neobank as a subsidiary) and by looking for new ways to innovate so that the remaining customers do not leave.
4577  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is currently the best exchange to buy BTC with fiat with small fee? on: April 09, 2019, 08:57:50 PM
Since you want to use a bank transfer to fund your balance you will have no choice to abide by the KYC verifications. As soon a bank transfer is used (no matter for what, money in/out) ID verification is needed. And it's almost the same for cards.
If you really want to avoid to give your ID you can use sites like localbitcoin, paxful, or similar marketplace, Bisq
That's 2019, even a bank won't let you just login in a member area before verification.  Cheesy
4578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Development- how did Satoshi stay anonymous? on: April 09, 2019, 08:40:25 PM
Satoshi wasn't paranoiac, he was a cryptographer. And a cryptographer who is not able to stay anonymous on the internet isn't able to create something like Bitcoin.

There are enough tools to stay anonymous easily. So "how" isn't really the question, the real question is "why?".
I can't say myself but if I were in his shoes I would surely do the same, and never ever I will let someone find my real ID. And not because I hold bitcoins, even without it, I'm sure some people would try to get my head dead or alive.
4579  Economy / Exchanges / Re: jubiter, another bitcoin prepaid card? Is it worth it? on: April 09, 2019, 05:10:14 PM
Out of curiosity what is the issuer for Wirex?

Bitwala uses a German bank as issuer (SolarBank) for the card and account, with the government guarantee on funds up to 100k€. I complain about banks but their products are great!  Cheesy
