4561  Economy / Economics / Re: Stocks fall down due to trump catching the virus on: October 04, 2020, 08:33:49 AM
It's weekends so I don't expect any movement at all, traditional markets is still on the negative side, but bitcoin somewhat trading on a sideways pattern of $10,500. So personally, the news did has impact all the markets around the world. So it will be interesting to see the market in Monday so see if this will continue. Let me quote Theymos here, and see what is his stance on the Trump vs Biden US Presidency.

I tend to visualize the price of Bitcoin as being composed of two components: a "digital gold" component which will behave similarly to gold, and a "risk asset" component which will behave like leveraged exposure to the S&P 500. (Neither with 100% correlation, of course, since Bitcoin is its own thing.) The gold component is maybe 20% of the price currently, while the risk-asset component is maybe 80% of the price, so the risk-asset component usually dominates.

I think that any clear resolution to the election will boost risk assets significantly in the medium-term, Bitcoin included, since one of the biggest risks will be taken out of the picture. A chaotic, disputed election outcome will probably cause risk assets including Bitcoin to crash. If chaos lasts a long time, the "digital gold" component of the Bitcoin price may start to dominate more, and this may allow its price to recover more quickly than some other assets. Long-term, a Biden presidency is probably somewhat worse for Bitcoin, since his administration will be more anti-Bitcoin and will be much more likely to put forward harmful regulations. (Not that Trump is super pro-Bitcoin or anything...) I wouldn't expect these sorts of long-term predicted effects to cause much shorter-term price action, though, other than maybe a very-short-term panic crash.
4562  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 04, 2020, 07:48:55 AM
What a dominate performance by Djokovic, he is a man on a mission. I'm a numbers guy when it comes to sports and even though I have been saying that Djokovic might be the one to win the French Open after what happened in the US Open but I am now thinking that it will be Nadal winning. All we know how good he is on clay however my thinking is that he will equal Federer on 20 grand slam titles in the year 2020.
I would say that Djokovic is really playing good in this tournament and the only one that can beat him is Nadal and Thiem, who both are good in clay. And against Galan, Djokovic plays a perfect match, and as he said after the interview "I was happy the way I played, pretty solid tennis". It was really a display of superb tennis and even Galan said that Djokovic forehand in like a rocket.

Magsayo really start very fast, but he has problems with Rigoberto's height, 3 inch advantage for Rigoberto. But it the end, Magsayo bounce back specially in the latter round to win by Split Decision,

4565  Bitcoin / Legal / US government imposing fines for those companies paying ransomware on: October 03, 2020, 10:32:24 AM
In a ironic move by the US federal government, companies that are going to cooperate and pay ransom to cyber threat actors are going to be liable as "even if it did not know or have reason to know it was engaging in a transaction with a person that is prohibited under sanctions laws and regulations administered by OFAC."

https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/126/ofac_ransomware_advisory_10012020_1.pdf

I guess what the US want is to really stop this attack on US soil specially those coming from state backup attacks, specially from North Korea. And now they are encouraging victims to contact relevant government agencies first before dealing with this cyber actors.
4566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is monero a good buy because of the application? on: October 03, 2020, 09:41:26 AM
I'd like to know some thoughts from the lovely minds here. Not trying to get rich quick or anything. Just curious if monero is a good buy based on the application of use preferred to being anon. I personally would only stake to eventually somehow get the nero to btc. Just kind of curious on the thoughts of folks and the coin in that sense.
Well if you want to take care of your privacy then buy Monero, however, I will give you a warning that many exchanges have delisted it already because of some pressures from regulatory framework. Meaning they are really afraid of Monero being a privacy coin as individuals might used it in the wrong way, i.e. criminals from the dark web, terrorists, tax evaders, etc. So you have to weight your options here, specially that government are offering bounties to break it's anonymity, SEC offered a 625K bounty for a tool to track LN and Monero.
4567  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning]: Fake Uniswap apps on Google Store on: October 03, 2020, 09:07:37 AM
Again, the blame should be on the shoulders of Google here. How come this malicious apps to continue to get un noticed and get published in their store. We have been calling them to improved their algorithm on how to catch this early so that no one can be a victim here. It's just sad that someone got phished and lost everything with a simply Uniswap. So another big lessons for everyone, specially that the Uniswap hype is here in crypto ecosystem. Make it a habit to check all angles first before downloading any on Google store.

IMHO, It's very hard for Google to create algorithm to determine whether the app is malicious or not because the code used on the fake uniswap is just like a typical app. The only thing that make it a scam was its use the hacker address on deposit address of the app which is too hard to determine by the bot. We can't blame Google solely on this matter because the user should research first whether uniswap officially announce this app or not before using it. We all know that there are tons of fake/scam wallet available on play store. The only thing we do to prevent it is to report it or be cautious.
I would agree that this criminals might be using a way to get around their algorithm. But with so many reports on it, they should have done something by now to at least filter out the apps or make a review again once it is already on their store? So for me, they should be held accountable at least, because they are simply allowing it to happen multiple times already. And it seems they are falling on their deaf ear.
4568  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: cryptominebit.com scam ??? on: October 03, 2020, 08:42:23 AM
Well I check their website, it's fairly young, just over a month only.

https://whois.domaintools.com/cryptominebit.com

So personally, I wouldn't trust a website that is new specially if you are going to purchase their products worth hundred if not thousands of dollars, just saying.

Thanks for the update, I'm not surprised that Chainalysis collared the $625k bounty. They've been making a lot of noise lately and they have been in the forefront on developing softwares for anti money laudering. I'm not familiar with Integra though, but it seems that they have the reputation behind their name. As for the 8 months delivery, they don't have a choice, maybe it could be a rush tools, or maybe they've already build a working model and now they can deploy it with data and see if it working as designed.
4570  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 03, 2020, 07:48:43 AM
Now at the final quarter, 105 - 94.

There's still a chance that Heat can chase the lead with this last quarter.
Imagining Heat got this close without Dragic and Bam is pretty impressive already.  Bam might play in game3 so we can see a better team in offense and defense I'm still rooting for heat to get at least 1 win in this series. Betting would be a lot fun if both teams is complete in players. But looking at it right now Lakers really have a good chance at sweeping this series.
I do hope that Bam can play in game 3. They really do their best in this game, getting as close as 8 points in the third quarter. But Anthony Davis and Lebron was unstoppable, specially Davis, all around. Yeah, hope to see that Miami at least get one win in the series. They really miss Dragic contributions in the floor, he is unlucky not to play in the most important games in their playoff, Butler needs to score more and carry the team against LA.

What are the things are required to participate ?. I know little bit about it that we wear the avatar and put the signature and start posts
Kindly guide me how it work
See, you got excited already, try to go around the community first and read a lot specially the rules and guidelines of this community. Best of luck in your journey.
4573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US 2020 Elections data, polls and bets on: October 02, 2020, 09:57:55 AM
Today there would've been change in the win percentage as Trump has tested positive for covid-19. This is the first time in history a virus attack is making a change in the election result. With this Trump won't be able to participate in upcoming debate and staging on campaigns which is the final move to change the vote. Shocked
I don't understand though, why would Trump getting covid-19 affects his chances though? In fact Trump can use this to his advantage and play the victim here and move US to his favour by claiming that he will fight this virus. Probably he can go on the debate, and obviously the other side will not go as well. And debates can be done on-line right? So I doubt that it will have a negative effect, on the contrary Trump can play this card successfully.
4574  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Florida man charged with scamming investors out of $6.8M in crypto trading schem on: October 02, 2020, 09:37:59 AM
I couldn't believe there are people who believes in such claims, A person who never lose in his trading days?
How could an investor believe in such lie if they are true investor they would know that there is no such thing in trading all traders would experience a lost in their trading time.
It is same as claiming that he never did lose in gambling we know that both of it is impossible.
People should learn to use their common sense in this type of times in order to avoid being scammed.
It's because there are still people around, clueless on trading, but this guy is probably a sweet talker, so obviously, he can attract investors and blindly trust on him that he can make more money. But it's too late as this is a cyber criminal, taking advantage of such people. $100 million of money in his pocket, he thinks he can live the life he dreams of, unfortunately, there are no shortcuts in life, and now he had to pay for it. I'm not really sure how his son or his family will react though, probably they really knows where he got all the money with. And knows that they are living in a borrowed time.
4575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 02, 2020, 08:44:35 AM
Also, King James is not happy with his point of view they can even do better.
They are in the NBA Finals already and they are in a mission to get a championship.
What LeBron is expecting to his teammates is perfection and in the game, he isn't satisfied with their performance. Although they win, it just shows that there is no time to be complacent. Heart of a leader and he is just focus on their goal.

How do you like the move from the Sixers?
There is no option that fits Doc Rivers but Philly only so maybe this is a good move but its too early to say at least.

I'm now curious who will be the Coach of Clippers and who will build the chemistry of their team.

Of course, Lebron wants to be perfect so his teammates will have the discipline the play or execute the play at the right way. They are already in the lead, we can't tell how many games this series will last, but for sure Lakers will do everything and will give everything in order to win.
That's just the mentality of a champion, they are only up 1-0 so there's need to be complacent, and on the contrary they should start where they left off in Game 1, play good and take every opportunity presented to score and separate themselves. Having a good lead early, then maintain the intensity throughout the game. And this speaks of James experience as well, he has been in so many Finals appearance that he knows that the job is not finished in just one game.

Maybe Assistant coach Tyron Lue or Sam Cassell can fill the void left by Doc Rivers in Clippers.
4576  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin over $10,000 for the past 66 days on: October 02, 2020, 08:15:10 AM
I'm not really about the $10k price though, I believed that we still need another crash and then bounce back, and from then on it will be another bullish run for the market. So I still have that idea inside my head, so making me a bit cautious at the current price movement. If I'm wrong then good, at least I'm not that kind of person who think that we are going to be on the bullish side every time we hit a good price and it this case, $10k for the past 66 days.
4577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First time in Ethereum's history, miners made more from fees than from block on: October 01, 2020, 11:12:17 PM
I'm not surprised though, we have several threads already complaining about the huge fees in the last couple of months because of all the Defi hype and it clogs the network resulting to miners getting more from the huge influx of Ethereum users. So I'm expecting the fees to continue to increase as this hype is not yet done for this year. So better be ready for the increasing fees because it will really hurt us a lot in the long run.
4578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez Lightweight Unification fight on: October 01, 2020, 10:56:53 PM
This is what Loma has to say about Lopez trash-talking:

Quote
“In my country, if you insult somebody, you’d better be prepared for them to hurt you. If we were in my country, he’d learn pretty quick he can’t run his mouth,” said Lomachenko. “If I get a chance to cause him pain, I’m going to do it.”
Sooner or later, we will hear Lomachenko response to all that Lopez is spewing. And it's good that we hear it straight from Loma's mouth how he takes Lopez trashing him, not respecting him in public. And with the way he responded, it seems that Loma is taking this fight personally. And this might spell doom for Lopez and he really needs to prepare very hard for this fight.
4579  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe NBA is rigged? on: October 01, 2020, 10:13:19 PM

As an NBA enthusiast for almost around 2 decades (if my memory serves me right), I will likely use the term "wrong officiating" on some games rather than to be called as a whole as "rigged" in general. Refs do a mistake, no doubt about that. I'm not new to these people calling NBA games as rigged but the speculation is only on few games which for me is a product of wrong officiating. NBA's reputation will be jeopardized if there's a thing called rigged here.

Also for players, it's difficult to be drafted in NBA so no way they will participate in dirty games. And even if we say, they want to involve, it's hard to do it in the actual game.

I will give 95% that all games are clean. For another 5%, I called it a different case which likely involves a wrong officiating.

Very true. NBA's reputation is at stake if ever they will do such a thing. For me, it's difficult nowadays to rig games as there are so many people watching and analyzing every player's move so players will have to be very careful to avoid losing their job.

Also heard this kind of accusation on our local league in the Philippines, the PBA but it's very hard to prove.
NBA has already build it's reputation and there are referees who have been doing their jobs for more than 20 years, that's just one referee alone. So we all know that humans are prone to make mistakes and they themselves admit that sometimes they make the wrong calls in crucial times and people interpret this as cheating or referee rigging the games. So I don't believed referee are intentionally influencing the outcome of the game to give favor to someone or some groups because they have a huge bet in the game.
4580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hacker started to eliminate tokens stolen from KuCoin on: September 29, 2020, 11:25:32 AM
It's already moving, some of them have been block already by Ocean if I'm not mistaken and USDT being block but there are a lot of ERC-20 tokens that has been moving a lot and no one can stop them. I'm not sure about the BTC though, it will be tough as all eyes have watching it. In any case, they are using uniswap as a bridge, so it might get some bad rep, in my opinion.

Maybe the hacker will not send it right away the coin and wait until the situations are under control. The hacker will not risk selling it now as the case is still being "hot" in the crypto world. We will see the impact if the hacker sells the coin, and maybe the price will be a drop in a short time, but the price will be back to the last price. The hacker will have a plan for what they will do with the funds, and I don't think it's about selling all of the coins at once.
Not needed though, it will still be remain 'hot', there are previous hacks that move their coins years ago, but still there are still track. What they can do is wait for the bull run to get as much from the hack coins.
