Or they're used up old fools milking the last dollar out of their previous successes. Kind of like Cher.

Oooh, burn.... poor Cher, I still regard her as kind of "with it" since she pioneered use of  autotune. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Believe_%28Cher_song%29

However, I guess even that was a long time ago now.

I used to like Cher and The Washington Post. Now they're both just kind of embarrassing.

I don't trust fat people because they'll eat anything.

As in "We can't even get our head round the end of dead tree publishing, and now money is on electronic calculating engines? Excuse us while we chortle into our single malt at the carriage club."

The Washington Post just fails to respect the authoritah of Lemmiwinks.

Spin fail, should be "Coin cloud achieves 100% increase in BTM installs inside 6 months!" Cheesy

Coin Cloud doubles their worldwide exposure in just six months!

lol

We cannot fail because Lemmiwinks is on our side.

4566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fork off on: January 14, 2015, 11:43:03 PM
I don't know if anybody has calculated this before as it seems pretty stupid , but how much it will cost in transaction fees to fill all the blocks to the maximum ?

Right now. Less than 1 BTC per block, or about 100 BTC per day. Which is a relatively cheap attack. The limit creates an increasing risk of this event as tx volumes approach it.

Thanks for the answer.
So if one lunatic decided to throw this money away everyday what will happen to legit transactions ?
I know there is a transaction pool for most clients but i guess there is a time limit also i guess.

It does sound idiotic but this a cheaper way of attacking the blockchain than trying to build up 51% hash power.
So , is this kind of attack possible ? Can it bring legit transactions to a halt?

It would be much cheaper for a hacker with thousands of zombies to do a Sybil attack. I don't think anyone would see 100 coins a day as a good option.

I wonder what they really ended up with when the coins are all sold. Maybe they'll make a thread and tell us tomorrow. lol

This thread is gentlemen.

When the crowd notices it is way too late to be selling, then BTC will have a dramatic rally.
Bitcoin is falling because scared people are still selling.

By "scared people" do mean thieves that don't give a shit what price they sell for?

Yes, they should be included:
Hopefully, some of the major thieves have finished selling, so those numbers are no longer waiting to be unloaded.

Oh, then I agree with you.

Hint

There is no such thing as "intrinsic value". What's the intrinsic value of a $100 bill?

1 printer some ink and a blank note
That plus a couple thousand war planes, battle ships, a million heavily armed loons in matching green outfits, some nuclear weapons and the attitude of, "it's whatever I tell you it is, bitch".

 No, it's more like this

People aren't really this stupid are they? As popular as they are here, I seriously need to start a ponzi.
You'd be seriously rich from the commisions, say 1000 BTC get's invested. Say there is a 5% fee than you'd have 50 BTC from a few days/weeks of work. Still illegal though.

It's that last part that really stops me from doing it. I'm not the least bit interested in having the diameter of my asshole quadruple in size.
Even IF it was totally legal I would not do it, only thinking of the fact that you are getting "free" money from people and effectively stealing it too. I can't do such thing, may be the environment where I grew up in, I learned not to betray people or scam them. I'd probably be mentally destroyed after I scammed someone, but that doesn't seem to be the case for a lot of these people.

I used to think that way. Read this thread though. These people deserve to be broke. They gave their money away knowing they would never see it again. Page one of this thread shows everyone was warned of the outcome. I wouldn't pull a Pirate@40 because I'm not real fond of the idea of being ass rammed in prison not because stupid people shouldn't be separated from their money.

And I used to think your way. I don't have a lot of sympathy with the naked greed shown in this thread (or out in the real world). These days get my jollies from doing constructive stuff with my time, usually finding that with the right idea and the right approach then the money will come too.
There's lots of ways to scam a living, defined in my book as doing stuff which solely benefits you at the expense of others and probably breaks a law or two.
Sure it's money, wow, buy a Ferrari or some blow, but it's empty.
Probably sounds like hippy shit I know, especially in a 'libertarian' world, but just because someone is weak, naive or a 'tard', doesn't mean you have to exploit that.
There's a lot of intelligent people in here and out there scamming and stealing, how much better a place we would be living in if that energy was channeled into positive stuff.
Dream on.

Have you bought your tickets for this years burning man yet? lol

jk. I agree, it's better to live a peaceful life knowing you're not hurting people than a paranoid life knowing you did.

Considering your post it would, indeed, make some sense to be a Ponzi runner. I mean, these people "know" they are "donating" money and have a 10% chance they will get it back.
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is...

Yep, and bit-history shows it's been done time and time again. I have to believe that either these people are functionally illiterate so reading the history is not an option for them or they are intellectually incapable of understanding plain language.

From newbies on page one of this thread:
purely scam, no doubt about it.
of course it is, what did you think when you saw the headline of this thread
4576  Economy / Speculation / Re: Under 200$ pr coin. WTF on: January 14, 2015, 02:24:59 PM

It will be back at $350-$400 in three months. Now is the time to buy.

I think it will be too, but I also think it will fall below $100 in the next month

Think about this idea. Someone is dumping stolen coins. I don't know which recent theft it is but someone is dumping that doesn't care about the price they sell for because they profit no matter the price. They will have sold everything well before the next month. They probably already have dumped them all. From that point on the price will climb unless another thief decides the price is high enough for their run. If you buy now or buy in 30 days it doesn't matter, you'll still make money. The only difference will be how much.

I think we will see under $100 by the end of the month here, if not sooner.  The real question is, is it ever going to go back up!

Never gonna happen. What will happen is a handful of smart people are going to double their money over the next couple of months without the need for a ponzi.

What is never going to happen?  The price going below $100 or it going back up?
