4561  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is Elliptic Curve Cryptography? Understand how is it related to Bitcoin. on: March 19, 2020, 07:31:33 PM
I have heard the term elliptic curve in my math class, I'm not sure what exact math class it is but essentially I remember it to be an algebraic curve that is non-singular. And upon searching it on google (just elliptic curve), it means

Quote
the curve has no cusps or self-intersection

Technically speaking, if I understood correctly, the curve will not intersect again itself. We can see that this topic would be related to the part where Bitcoin addresses are also safe to be publicly seen. This principle has made it impossible to get the Private key from a Public key.

I researched an article where the math behind it is discussed and it's a good read.

Instead of betting in sports gambling, why can't we just donate our spare money? By that we can help our fellow citizen to overcome and protect themselves from the virus. Let's stop online casinos for now and let us enjoy our time with our families.
I love the idea of donating your spare money and putting it into better use. I hope the majority of the high rollers in casinos are thinking about this and possibly piling up all the money they can allocate and give to the needy. For sure there are a lot of people who desperately need it and that's just a starting point. I think it doesn't matter where it comes from whether gambling or hard-earned money, it's where it will go that will count.

Instead of sports betting, just play sports using our gadgets, cellphones, PS4, computer, by that we can entertain ourselves and enjoy playing games while we are safe from the virus. Also you can play cards, with your family to strengthen more your relationship to each other.
This is what I currently do and I feel unproductive yet I'm still entertained. I think it's okay right now but what I loved most when staying at home right now is the cleaning part. It's kind of therapeutic. You could add it to the list you have given.

Now that almost all sporting events all over the world are cancelled, those wanting bet of sports events are left with having to find alternatives. What are they majority doing?
I think the majority went to the obvious route. Online Gambling

Are some giving up and trying to become reformed gamblers?
I really hope that some of the addicted gamblers have gone and made this situation an opportunity to improve on themselves and let themselves learn that they don't really need gambling in their lives, it's entertainment.

Are some gambling on casinos instead?
If you are talking about online casinos, then probably. There are a lot of ways to feed some desires if you are addicted to it. I hope they are not gambling though (if someone is addicted)

What are alternatives most sports betting users are now switching to?
I think the best ones (for addicted gamblers) are a new hobby. Possibly music? Lol.
4564  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: March 18, 2020, 01:43:06 PM
That will be a good idea to stay in our homes and gamble, but you need to stay away from the kids because they can be your side and watch you play gambling games.
If you don't have kids, much better right? Lol. I don't think kids at a young age would understand it already, unless 7 years old and above? Maybe let them know what you are doing and let them expect that it's just for entertainment and enjoyment.

I can not imagine how much money the casino will lose by closing their casino since they are prohibited from operating. But that will not be a problem for them because they already get the profit before.
I think they have earned enough with all their operation. A month or two can be sustained, IMO. I'm more concerned about the workers though.
Ang sakit tingnan no?
4566  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: March 18, 2020, 09:48:32 AM
COVID-19 is still spreading all over the world, there are so many people affected by the virus, there are a lot of people who can not work anymore because of being afraid to go outside.
What the right term is, IMO, is that the government is giving the necessary lockdowns so that it would limit the spread. I don't know about other countries but in ours, it's like that. Limiting the spread of the virus means that we also limit the infections all around and hopefully, it would be gone before we know it.

We should do something to prevent COVID-19 from spreading to each and everyone, if we want to play gamble, please do not go outside and find any nearest casino building just to play.
Even if you want to, I think you can never gamble right now with the current situation. Almost all should've been prohibited to operate. Maybe we could try to enjoy in our homes for once and gamble there? Lol.
Pag tinatanong ako niyan, ang gusto nila malaman is kung Tumaas ba yung presyo or Bumaba?.

  • 51% Attack
  • Addresses
  • Airdrop
  • ATH
  • Cryptography
  • Hash Rate

At marami pang iba.

4568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: bitrust casino giving 45$ worth of xrp celebrating their third anniversary :o on: March 18, 2020, 04:46:52 AM
Upon checking the link given by Harkorede, I did notice that the website is quite familiar, especially the logo. Imagine how easy it is to create a website and just copying the UI and making it look legitimate.

I think the people who are going to be scammed by this are the ones who are not familiar with the copied website, Bitcasino.
4569  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Gaano ba kahalaga? on: March 17, 2020, 12:48:24 PM

So pwede mong i-trade for something.

Katulad ng sinabi ni mk4, health is more important than money. Learned this the hard way though.
4570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 60% Wiped Out - Will Bitcoin Have a Hard Time Finding Investors After This? on: March 17, 2020, 06:30:40 AM
It’s good that he predicted the crash, but I hope that he understands that it’s not just bitcoin but every other stuff that there is because the current economy now is different and there are a lot of people cashing out there earnings for the need of supplies to last this type of event.

For the investors in bitcoin, I think it still necessary to consider the the fact that it is yet the number one cryptocurrency, and it’s going to be mined continuously, and even if it goes down in value, it will still be a good asset in my opinion.
4571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where ETH will go if it breaks down $80? on: March 17, 2020, 01:41:46 AM
When all things are chaotic, I think that anything can happen. When there is a crisis, something would happen. No matter what you do or where you go, anything can happen, especially in the prices of cryptocurrency. We all should be familiar with the volatility of the asset and there's just nothing you could do when that happens. We wouldn't want that to happen but it's going to be a great opportunity to buy more if that happens, right?

If ETH becomes $10 - $15, I would buy a lot of it.
4572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is it , it's the end of cryptos on: March 16, 2020, 08:38:59 AM
Is it always the price that matters? Isn't the application of the coin more important than it's the price? I don't think the price is the reason why the cryptocurrency is alive, it's the users that actually use it or trade it.
4573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Right time for gambling addicts to come out of addiction? on: March 16, 2020, 05:11:08 AM
Hey there absy, I remember you hanging out in Bitvest. Do you still bet there?

Anyways, I think this is the great time to go out of your way and find a different one. If you think your gambling habits are harming your way of life, I think it's time to go in a change of phase. Probably get the opportunity of this time, home lockdown, to find another hobby and replace that harmful (if it's harming your life) habit.

Some people would just go in another gambling route, would you continue to?
4574  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some casino gambling tips. on: March 16, 2020, 03:56:14 AM
I wish it was that easy that the virus suddenly stops and dies. COVID-19 is definitely something to be worried about in terms of our health. There's no need for panic though, I think people can have time to reflect on what they are feeling and make sure that the decisions that they make, like gambling, should go with their lifestyle.

Instead of giving out tips that have already been discussed 129387345098750 times here in bitcointalk, why not take the current situation (COVID-19) and start from there?
4575  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Personal about Cryptocurrency related projects / alts on: March 16, 2020, 12:56:50 AM
lol, the fast spreading crypto currency.
Grabe no?

Like may template na agad sila for that. So for sure, it's easy for them to create any kind of viral project.

As long as walang tatangkilik sa project na ito, magiging either dead coin or scam coin to pero either way magiging useless rin naman.
0% contribution to anything. Lol.

Sa dami ng mga altcoins na naglalabasan natuto naman siguro ang karamihan na huwag agad seryosohin ang bawat altcoin ng basta basta at kung may mag seseryoso sa altcoin nila it'll give them a lesson.
Marami na natuto diyan. Mawawala lang din sila and they are just going to get your money.
4576  Local / Pilipinas / Personal about Cryptocurrency related projects / alts on: March 15, 2020, 05:19:42 AM

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5232528.0

4577  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bitcoin's price, at ang ating mental health. on: March 14, 2020, 02:58:16 PM
I do believe that some people can't handle these kinds of happening when they have invested more than they can lose. Feeling ko that's one of the main reasons why someone could think of killing themselves.

4578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does anyone pay for slandering gambling websites on Bitcointalk? on: March 14, 2020, 12:50:41 PM
I agree with what he said but I don't think there are people that pay for slandering because this forum is just a part of vast sea of World Wide Web. It is the same as the trolls that flame other people. One thing that a slandered website can do would be to prove that they are trustworthy and that they have a solid reputation, this thing sometimes outweighs the slandering.
In terms of competition of businesses, I think there are some events that led to someone paying for scandalous type of comment in a certain business. In life, I'm sure we have those moments where we think negatively of a certain business and some even giving feedback for a negative experience. Maybe you could easily pay someone BTC just to put negative comments but it won't stick if the reputation is great, right? Just like you said.
4579  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people have been panic selling? I didn't. on: March 14, 2020, 08:11:46 AM
It has always been a case to case basis, you know.

For example:
Friend A: Needs the money for the hospital bills
  • Sell now because the need for the instant
  • This person wants to have to sell at the best price so it's either he is thankful that he sold a few weeks ago when BTC was $8000-$9000 rather than today

Friend B: Has extra income to invest in BTC
  • Just keeps on HODLing
  • No emergency needed

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that it's always going to be in case to case. So for me, I didn't sell a BTC too because I didn't need to but if I ever have the need for money, whether it's for bills, necessities, etc, I would sell it.
4580  Local / Pamilihan / Re: LENDING SECTION HERE (Mores Funds Available - Wanted Borrowers! on: March 13, 2020, 09:04:05 AM
Collateral should be equivalent to the value you would be loaning. Tapos siyempre consider the shipping amount din.
