4581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one are You ? on: November 05, 2021, 08:08:19 PM
Perhaps I fall under casual social gamblers. I don't really care much about gaining profits or making money from whatever I'm doing on the weekends. I'm just there to kill time and see if my luck is really up to something on that particular instance and that's it. Never exceeded on my budget, nor ever planned to go above and beyond my limits as I believe that it will catch up to me at some point, up until I spend money that is not really something I want to lose.
4582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What game do you prefer in gambling? on: November 05, 2021, 07:09:29 PM
I've focused on dice for the last few years of gambling, and it's a chill game that I'm, really not getting stressed in playing at all. Tried sports betting as well but it doesn't really do me any good considering that I have to stress myself on the odds, the conditions of the players, and the overall matchup on the game. Dice is just "I feel lucky, I should play" type of game and it suits my personality considering that I'm just some other dude that doesn't want to complicate things.

I'm not really profiting from my gambling endeavors but at the least I'm enjoying every last bit of it.
4583  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Daily Reminder: Watch Out for $5 Wrench Attacks on: November 05, 2021, 06:15:18 PM
This is why people should be discreet about their wealth and status, and what kind of assets do they have in order to prevent such attacks. If you are a bitcoin or crypto millionaire and almost all of your information are public, you better increase your security, else you'll constantly be hounded and followed by people with ill intentions towards you, wanting to get some money off of you.

One thing I learned about such attacks is that you shouldn't be showing off too much on social media and the internet if you don't want bad things happening to you. We live in a crazy world and crazy age wherein lots of people are greedy and willing to do nefarious things just to gain something for themselves.
4584  Economy / Economics / Re: 6 billion to solve world hunger? on: November 04, 2021, 10:04:10 PM
$6 Billion to solve world hunger is far-fetched. I don't think that figure is even enough to cover logistics + the food itself on a certain region. That UN guy who made that tweet is just dragging the name of the organization down due to his impulsive statements on the matter. And of course, Elon is ready to take a bite for the clout and to also prove a point. What people need aren't handouts, but actual jobs, sustainable lifestyle and developed economies for them to keep their mouths fed. UN doesn't really address that, though at the least, they are making an effort to alleviate the hunger of some of the poverty-stricken countries while they still have the machinery.
4585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's so “convincing” about Craig Wright? on: November 04, 2021, 08:17:51 PM
He has a way with words, and the way he's trying to spin out some information that favors him is really something else. That's what crooked people do, and that's what they do best. They try to hide their wickedness by convincing  other people to protect them. Or, he's paying these people to support whatever nonsense he's spewing on the internet, but that would be far-fetched considering that there are still tons of them everywhere.

It may just be another case of fanaticism knowing how gullible people can be. It's quite sad, really, but then again perhaps they have vested interest in CSW as holders of his coin.
4586  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency must adapt in schools/colleges curriculum on: November 04, 2021, 07:11:18 PM
Cryptocurrencies, IMO, should remain entangled on some economics and finance majors, and not be taught on all degrees/programs. While the intention is good, I don't think cryptocurrencies are that important to everyone right now, considering that some other key skills in adulting like filing taxes, 401ks, mortgages, basic investments, and all that stuff are still yet to be taught on higher education. The youth will learn more of these outside school as this generation is more inquisitive and tech savvy more than ever (although I have to admit that a lot are still, well, naive.)
4587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Squid Game' cryptocurrency scams $2 million on: November 04, 2021, 05:48:05 PM
I watched it live on one streamer, and it's beautiful seeing the candle from green to red in a flash of a second. A lot of warnings have been posted everywhere about this coin that has no affiliation whatsoever from the creators of the popular Netflix show. A lot of red flags have also appeared on the announcement of the said coin yet people still decided that it's a good buy and that they should join in on the craze. Little do they know that the creators are already planning something nefarious, and all suspicions were confirmed when the coin instantly drop to almost nothing.

People ride the hype so much that doing research is already neglected. They always feel like they will miss out on the opportunity, when in reality they will lose even more since they haven't really exercised due diligence at all.
4588  Economy / Economics / Re: How can strikes affect short-term inflation? on: November 04, 2021, 04:57:17 PM
Worker strikes, especially on sectors that produce essential goods and/or logistics side of things is definitely a big hit on the economy if ever. Essential goods with low on supply and high on demand would certainly increase its price without any further questions as to why it happened. Same case on other goods stuck due to the movement of goods being suspended due to the strike. It will be a huge problem short-term, unless and until the demands of the workers that started the strike are met.

If companies continue to be assholes to their workers. strikes will certainly occur every so often and the general public would be the ones who will suffer.
4589  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan believes Bitcoin is Overpriced on: November 04, 2021, 02:52:44 PM
JP Morgan has been releasing such kinds of statements for the longest time, that I don't think it's still relevant whatever their comments are on bitcoin or cryptocurrency in general. It's pathetic that even after they are proven wrong by bitcoin and the community, they remain to be hostile and negative about bitcoin that I think they're doing it just to be the talk of the town.

At this point, I believe they are just subtly persuading people to invest on bank-controlled assets and not on bitcoin which they cannot and will not touch.
4590  Economy / Economics / Re: There are many online jobs out there. Crypto Opportunity. on: November 03, 2021, 11:05:15 PM
There are tons of opportunities online, but not enough people who are up to the task and are willing to learn certain skillsets in order to be a perfect fit for the position available. Most people still think that online jobs are easy to get, though in reality experience and a nice portfolio is what gets most of the clients. I won't really consider crypto as an 'online job' for you are taking in some money before you get something out—essentially an investment.

Learn certain things. Get certifications from trusted organizations, build your profile and your portfolio and you're ready to go. You need to put in the hours and the effort in order to land the job fit for you.
4591  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: November 03, 2021, 09:00:56 PM
My definition of financial stability is simple: If I don't have to worry about any of the mortgage, hospitalizations, vacations, and food for the rest of my life, that's financial stability. I'm not materialistic, nor do I want to be uber rich. I just want to live a comfortable life. Most of us define financial stability as having lots of houses, cars, and vacations on picturesque countries every year, while in reality being financially stable just means that you'll still survive even if you are to lose your job and remain jobless for quite some time.
4592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrencies have the lowest transaction fees? on: November 03, 2021, 05:48:46 PM
XRP should be added on that list. It has been my go-to crypto when it comes to transferring funds from point A to point B as long as the option is available. And since XRP already has a lot of exposure to different sectors in the past few years, there are a lot of places that includes XRP on the list of crypto that they accept.

XLM has some low fees too, although not a lot of places accept it at the moment hence its utility as a form of payment, or for transferring funds isn't really great (unless we're talking about exchange - exchange transfers).
4593  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not your vault, not your money. Why some nation-states will HODL Bitcoin. on: November 03, 2021, 04:48:41 PM
I doubt those banks will ever release that money to the Talibans. Unless and until their regime are ousted, and a favored government of the West assumes power on the said country, the money the previous administration safekept on foreign lands will be frozen. They can ask China for financial assistance due to their relationship with the said country, but we know what happens when China lends its 'helping hand' to an ailing country. It doesn't always end favoring those who asked for it. Then again, the Talibans are out of options, and they would, most probably, just take the bullet and hope for the best.
4594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on: November 03, 2021, 04:03:19 PM
I know for a fact that Tommy Fury will not go all out on this fight, and this is just yet another money grab from Jake Paul trying to 'prove' that he's a capable fighter, even though we know that that's not the case. I'm hoping that Tommy Fury beats the hell out of Jake Paul for trying to make other fighters' image look bad. Also, it would be interesting what the bookies would have to say on this particular match-up. Paul is obviously the one who is at a disadvantage in here, but from his last few 'fights,' it could be a factor for bookies to even the field on Paul's favor even though Tommy is already an established boxer.
4595  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Verified Information - Missed Opportunities on: November 03, 2021, 07:55:10 AM
I do have some regrets when it comes to selling my bitcoins, too. Sold most of the lot on 2017 during the initial run to $19k, then a few years later I am seeing prices up to $60k per bitcoin. But to think that most of the proceeds of the sale that I did back in 2017 went to fund something great, and something that I still benefit from up to now, maybe it wasn't that bad, although of course if only I knew that things would push insanely high in just a span of 4 years, I would have held it even further to make lots of profit. Then again, no one knew, but still it's really rewarding to be a part of something that everyone thought was a scam at first.
4596  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Stability - Get yourself non ending economic circle. on: October 30, 2021, 04:38:52 PM
People, especially the young ones have their eyes set on making it big on social media, hence why there is a sudden boom of influencers on tiktok, instagram, and youtube. It is because they are seeing fame in social media as the easy way out on financial struggles, because said endeavour pays, and it pays a lot. Advertisers are crazy on big numbers and wider reach, and a lot of people aspire to be on the limelight in order to reap such payouts by being big on social media.
4597  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't lose your profit unnecessarily on: October 30, 2021, 03:32:52 PM
I just take profits whenever it comes to me, except when it's bitcoin because it's intended for long holds. 5% or 10% increase is still a profit, and it adds up in the long run. I've also learned this the hard way, ad I refuse to take profits lower than 10% back then and always ending as a bagholder or just forced to sell at a loss even if I don't want to. Since then, I learned to appreciate small rises and profits, and if I deem that the coin will no longer make a push upwards, I won't be greedy and just take any profits I get.
4598  Economy / Economics / Re: Just because prices are high, doesn't mean that is a good investment. on: October 30, 2021, 02:30:34 PM
This is what newbie investors think: high price equate to the performance of an asset. While it holds some degree of truth to it, it still isn't enough since some are just partially inflated and are pumped temporarily to attract more and more people. I've been asked by some of my friends on whether or not buying bitcoin, or any other crypto at X price is smart. I just say that if their wallet can afford to lose the money they want to invest, and if they have done their research well enough, that is when buying such crypto becomes justified.
4599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get in early on certain alts? What's your source.. on: October 30, 2021, 11:53:17 AM
I don't really have an insider information on the alts that I choose and I only base my decisions on the roadmap that is available and on the community that was already built by the announcements. These are some of the indicators and initial things that I look for before I go on and decide that the coin is right for me. Also, if it appears on one of the groups that I am a part of, it's definitely worth considering since most of the coins discussed on the said group make it to the exchanges months after the initial announcement and release.
4600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Large SALES Exchange or OTC how do you cashout 500-1million+? on: October 30, 2021, 09:56:39 AM
OTC is the way to go in terms of huge sales IMO. Just make sure that the one you're trading with is legitimate and trusted enough to honor their end of the deal. You can also dump it on exchanges if you like, although it may ring some alarms and cause a hassle for you once the trade/sale is complete.

I believe exchanges can facilitate OTC sales, though I'm not quite sure with the specifics (amount, mode of payment, etc.) that comes with it.
