This is a topic that many may disagree on, but math is not an opinion. Pseudo-privacy is not privacy. And it is not good enough. Can you imagine an internet where everyone could see everyone else's browsing history? And if you *did* want a respite you needed to publicly login to some scrambling service, which would only invite further scrutiny? But this is the state of bitcoin today. However don't get me wrong. I believe that there will always be a need for a global public ledger, and I see little reason why it shouldn't be bitcoin in perpetuity (properly upgraded and guided as it goes forward). I am still amazed that we have an absolute digital way to time stamp something such that no one can refute when a message occured, and that is thanks to bitcoin. But when it comes to functioning as an actual currency, bitcoin is woefully inadequate:

Those of you who know me also know what truly anonymous cryptocurrency I think will become that undisputed private ledger, but I'm not here to shill. I'm here to debate the fact that our civilization cannot run off bitcoin alone: at least one (possibly more) blockchains are necessary provided they offer something radically different that bitcoin cannot. Everything is possible to fraud,for example to create large btc derivatives market and launch bitcoin printing
It is relativelly easy to do with bitcoin
But i hope it will not happen and finally will be not only btc,ltc,but will be few globally used digital currencys

I have a friend in Cannes, France. You may not know anything about it, but there were terrible floods there 10 days ago. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34443189My friend told me her landline phone still doesn't work. There are no phones and no Internet in most of downtown Cannes. Electricity has been fixed quite rapidly, but for 2 days, the mobile phone networks were down, so no bitcoin, and no credit cards either! All the shops couldn't handle any transactions. The only thing which kept on working was the fiber optic network, I guess because that's the newest. The whole thing was very local. Everything was fine a few km North, but this shall reminds us that if there's a serious emergency, cash is the only safe option. Well, I wonder how situations like this would be deal with in the future once the governments finally get rid of physical cash and only issue "electronic" closed source money, so to speak. What will happen then? I wish there was a way to have "physical bitcoins" as an emergency temporal fix like that but it seems pointless. It is very strongle promoted all over media that some day will be no cash,maybe in USA,becouse there islot of people all over the world with no internet acces .People all over the world are stilll using cash,if governament in some countrys will like to set up rules like that,people will change governament.Are you agree to be slaves,does your country is a kind of dictatorship or is so called democracy What is that mean governament will decide,is there really so bad |

I think we can say big banks,but hate is to much to say.Bitcoin is kind of competition for them,thay are loosing cards fee,but we need to remember that btc hasto be exchanged to fiat at the end,in that moment banks make his money on fees

China long time ago said that thay will follow USA regulation.If btc will be regulated in China than big chinise bussineses will start to accept btc.Of course price will jump and will remain more or less stable
