4581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Home Court advantage = Not an advantage now because of no-live audience? on: July 14, 2020, 06:47:25 PM
1 is travel sucks and traveling too a new city to play always affects players even more usa because its so big

What if the HOME team just came as an AWAY team?

Travel shouldn't be a big deal. Not just because a HOME team will play on their home it means they won't literally come from traveling.

One of the popular game into the world is playing basketball which is a good thing because some of the player and team has a representative on their every country and if we are talking about the Basketball we have the NBA which most of the professional teams and players are representing their places. But now let's talk about the match of every game which we can tell for example is the Golden State versus Miami heat and we have the best of three matches which a team must have a two (2) wins either 2-0 or 2-1 so go up for the upper bracket and meet the other teams.

Just in case you missed, all NBA games staring from the remaining games of the current season > Playoffs > Finals will be done in one stadium.

Maintaining the bracket or spot for the purpose of home-court advantage isn't necessary anymore.
4582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think online casinos can effectively prevent underage gambling? on: July 14, 2020, 06:31:17 PM
How can we make sure that kids are not exposed to gambling at a very early stage, when they might not be ready to deal with the consequences? Gambling addiction is not a joke and these kids might turn to criminal actions to fund their gambling addiction.

The fact that the kid was able to understand how to play in a crypto-casino means it's always possible that the kid can't be exposed to gambling at an early age. That kid able to fund his online casino account so in here, he got accessed to whatever crypto-wallet he used and has knowledge about it.

If parents are truly concerned about this, talk to their child about the risks of doing gambling, even they don't know their kids are already involved with it. Somehow, if things got worst, they will able to notice that as a parent.
4583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 14, 2020, 05:51:19 PM
If Curry gets back in shape, will the GSW will become the best team in the NBA again?
I mean, if he is the best player, he can do that without Durant and just like the old days, the Warriors will always rule.

It's a tough question as several teams improved their lineups as the season goes by.

However, we know GSW literally came from scratch to stardom. They can come back to being dominant again.

Want to see them in the competition again with their fully healthy lineup.

Woo, why some of them making the situation worse and don't just abide the simple rules given to them?
 Huh

They take the situation lightly. They think a "simple" task won't hurt at all.

So unfair to those who are following the rule. Hopefully, that would be the last.
4584  Economy / Economics / Re: China economy and how they handle Covid-19. on: July 14, 2020, 05:35:47 PM
How China stopped the spread of virus so easily when every country is struggling, they simply stopped saying it to the world, nothing more.No one can find what is the actual situation inside China, what their communist media report is the only thing we know. And also now there are more doubts occurs related to where this virus originated, Taiwan reported there is some kind of spread in Spetember itself but China denies it along with WHO.

They struggled, it's impossible they just stopped the spread easily. Might be there are things that didn't come out to the news, but there is an international news agency that covers the pandemic situation there for months or even before it hits the majority of the country in the world. It took several months before it sees good progress and that's the time now that other countries now started to get hit.

There is an intention behind these, they just want to beat USA and want to become the super power of the world so they are trying to damage the other nations economy.Still China doesn't allow the researchers team to enter into their country to find where this virus originated so it will be really helpful in finding the permanent cure for this.

I think these are part of the conspiracies you have read elsewhere.

I know those have pointers but it's good not to read too much about it.

Chinese people are disciplined. They will not able to wake up from being a sleeping giant for centuries without a reason.
4585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 14, 2020, 05:10:52 PM
..I'm sure they would not push through the season if they are operating at a loss, that would be so stupid of them.

PBA losing P30M per month since stoppage of action

It's harsh mate lol. You have a point though. They want to push the season to come back again on track. Same with other businesses, they are operating with loss and the reason for resuming is to somehow cope up with it. They have "savings" and that might be used to cover all spendings regarding the resume. PBA is also backed by 12-teams and sure they will help the league. We can say that they can still handle the loss.

As per the article, after not generating income since the league was halted, the PBA office remains in operation and continues to pay the salaries of its employees.

And good thing "“At ‘yung teams, team owners and governors parang ‘yung equity nila na dahan-dahan munang (pinapagamit) sa PBA para gamitin sa pangsweldo.”
4586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if cryptocurrency on: July 14, 2020, 04:49:48 PM
I have been thinking if cryptocurrency projects should come back as it was in the early 2016 to 2017 as many of us came into cryptocurrency industry the time it has been made visible to many people, because that early 2016 a lot of people don't really have the knowledge and how it works that time, what do you think that will happen if those days should come back in the crypto phase?

Most projects succeed back on that year, not because of their supposed used-case but only "hype".

With lots of people earning decently during that time, it's easy to attract investors, whatever the project concept it. Those peeps now experience the 2018 bearish market and I think only a few of them stay on the game.

Be thankful that those hype days were gone. It's better to see that crypto is moving forward with real enthusiasts and not just because of hoping an overnight profit.
4587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would you buy/use Bitcoin if you knew its price would not reach a new ATH? on: July 14, 2020, 04:34:06 PM
Would you use or buy Bitcoins, if you knew that the BTC price would not reach a new all time high in the forseeable future?

I'm not really into hoping to these another ATH will happen again (well, +) or not, I always buy/spend my BTC for some personal reasons.

Buy = Trade
Spend (if really necessary) = Usage

As always, my fiat income will support all my expenses (including BTC accumulation). If there will be a time that I need to spend my BTC, then that's it especially on my trip where mobile banking sometimes fails.
4588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where will we stand at the end of pandemic? on: July 14, 2020, 04:15:36 PM
If the situation worsens do you think we will get more investment from newbies who might by switching from their traditional investment to a crypto as none of the businesses are going to prosper during this situation so there are chances we will get more investment into crypto or else there are possibilities of massive cashout if crypto decline as the existing players would switch to gold atleast to keep their investment intact.

Actually, we already have seen the worst*. The fact that some businesses are slowly getting back in shape, we can see that the world is now rising again. There are countries that already declared COVID-free and some have successfully managed to decrease the numbers of confirmed cases.

But for let's say, things have gotten more worst, I don't see that most newbies will switch into crypto as they aren't into the purpose of holding it. Quick money is necessary during the pandemic (different situation per country).

I advise not to think too much. Bitcoin is already tested in the worst times. The pandemic will surely end and everything will get back on track.
4589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Limited escrow service for building self discipline. on: July 14, 2020, 03:37:00 PM

You already mentioned the reason why this escrow thing won't be effective in the long-run.

Once a gambler experienced winning big, you won't take that feeling away from him for a lifetime. Meaning, a gambler will always come back to somehow take chances again on that pot. Once that funds that supposed to be used only in gambling depleted, the chance of wrecking the terms with the said escrow is always possible.

It's better for me to just allow the gambler to control the funds on their own. In that way, they can test how disciplined they are in managing their bankroll and winnings.
4590  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tell me a reason why I should use online wallet. on: July 14, 2020, 03:16:34 PM
I was having an argument with one guy from the internet. He uses online wallet instead of an offline. I tell him that bitcoin loses its point if you use an online wallet. He's also trying to convince me to use it too because it's more simple than an offline. I doubt. Anyway, I want one, only one reason, that online wallets are better than the offline ones.

The fact that millions of people use blockchain.com pisses me off. I don't know if the majority of users choose online, but they are many for sure.

People have different preferences for why they tend to use an online wallet.

Why not try to know by yourself what should be the reason for using it? Our reason for using it might be different to yours.

If you aren't comfortable or don't have any reason why you should use it, then you are free to ignore your friend "for now".
4591  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading using someone else's funds on: July 09, 2020, 08:23:41 PM

Talk to them about the percentage, not a good idea to just follow our suggestions to you how should be the dividend. Both parties should agree to the deal, win or loss. Since you are the one managing their money, try to include your "talent's fee" to them.

However, I don't know why these people offered you to trade their money. Do you mean they witnessed how good you are? Who are these? Friends or random people? I just hope they are really the ones who offer you to trade their money and not the other way around as I found it suspicious.
4592  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It's ok if your profits are less on: July 09, 2020, 07:58:09 PM

You won't know what will happen next. It's good that you were able to sell some for profits. Don't regret any of your actions as you can trade again that coin if you want to add it to your portfolio list.

We can't determine what price should be considered as a "peak" therefore we have to rely on our own observation and analysis for that. What should be the next thing to do will be based again on your own analysis starting from the question, "Is this coin really worth trading?"
4593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Kudos to Bitcasino.io on: July 09, 2020, 07:31:41 PM

Publicity or not, Bitcasino just handled their recent case properly. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5260832

Way better than those newbies accounts that pop out shilling a site.

Yeah, kudos to that. As for OP, maybe it's time now to lock your thread as no need for further discussion about this.

Fresh from his 5 on 5 game controversy amid the GCQ status in Metro Manila, Japeth Aguilar strikes again lol. Why do this guy can't follow simple rules, is it that they think they untouchables because they are famous? If the trend continues, PBA resumption would be a disaster since some players can't follow protocols.
Quote
Japeth Aguilar spotted in La Union surfing town amid tourist ban: sources

As I pointed out too in my previous post. These players should treat pandemic seriously.

Also hoping that there will be an increase with the penalty. It's unfair for those players who patiently wait and following the safety measures while these famous players can just do whatever they want.

So there we go, we will just wait on what will the outcome of the meeting tomorrow but it's sure that PBA will resume unless NCR will be reverted back to ECQ.

To be precise, once Manila shifted to MGCQ - wherein large activities are now allowed to resume. But for Manila to be considered shifting to MGCQ, the number of confirmed cases should be slow down which is far from happening based on daily records.

I'm not aware of this meeting tomorrow (or later), thanks for posting. I thought they will address the community next month. Either way, let's wait for the outcome.
4595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: July 07, 2020, 10:08:52 PM
This new normal will not last forever, at some point either the vaccine gets discovered, produced and administered to enough people to stop the spread of the virus or the virus infects people to the point there is no else to infect, and at that point we could go back to our previous lives, the only problem is that this is not going to happen anytime soon, it will take at least until the end of 2021 so for the time being it is important to take all the precautions we can and avoid physical casinos if possible.

That's my timeline too, end of 2021. All activities will go back again in their usual.

It's not really mandatory to avoid physical casinos. People can still go there as long as they will follow the strict protocol. Businesses should go back slowly.

As for sports events that already resumed, I do hope that the management will strictly impose their protocol. Players will surely be confident in the long-run and they might ignored those protocols since they will think it's safe now.
4596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still enjoy the anonymity in gambling in the long run? on: July 07, 2020, 09:28:11 PM
If you gamble just for fun with a small amount, there 's no problem with that. Gmail verification was commonly required in most gambling platforms.

Agree, as I point out too. We are not a typical gambler doing an over BTC1 betting regularly, either by withdrawal or so.

The added layer of security, might be something related to additional verification, is possible but we don't have to worry about that as long as we are not hitting the alarm. For let's say, things got centralized, as per all services related to crypto, gambling sites will surely the last crypto-related service that will be required to have a complete and mandatory KYC.
4597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 07, 2020, 08:53:31 PM
Here's a complete list of NBA players opting out of 2020 season return

Nikola Jokic is not in the list. There's still hope... read the details below.

This is what I like in NBA protocols regarding players that got infected with the virus.

They required Jokic to report two negative tests from Serbia, and twice more back in the United States, before being cleared to travel with the Nuggets. It's risky for a just a recently infected person to rejoin the team even they are declared clear from the virus that's why multiple tests within a given timeframe are necessary.

Fortunately, if I don't miss some updates, there are no reports yet where an NBA player got reinfected again with the virus.

Thanks everyone for your reply.
Won't even waste my time arguing my mother skills,as I m a great parent and if I didn't care I wouldn't be here or caught  my don doing it.

No one is questioning your parental skills. It's just that you have to understand that we are talking about "crypto-gambling site" here wherein don't have the same terms unlike most in fiat-online casinos. Your son is not that dumb to not learn other things you might don't like in the vast world of the internet. He is 14 yrs old already. As I said, just a few years more and he is not a kid anymore.

If you are eager to report the site to the authorities then go ahead. We are in an open forum and the community already gave you a response, therefore expect that some replies might not approve to you.

You can consider closing this thread now.
4599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still enjoy the anonymity in gambling in the long run? on: July 07, 2020, 07:51:52 PM

We don't have to worry if the amount involved, on either deposit or withdrawal is not that decent. In most cases at gambling sites, KYC is just needed at those big amounts of withdrawals or suspicious.

I mean, look at some popular exchanges. KYC is only to surpass the withdrawal limits and not actually mandatory.

There might be a time that imposing KYC will be mandatory but as long as not all crypto-exchanges like that, which is much bound in being a centralized one, low chances to happen for now in crypto-gambling sites.
4600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 07, 2020, 07:31:04 PM
On the bright side, the town still have no active cases of COVID-19 and they might even use it as the place(if ever it'll resume) just like NBA in the Orlando bubble.

Yes. That's one of the proposals I posted here before that might be considered if the league wants to push to resume. Since different PH regions do have their own quarantine status, PBA can choose to play outside Manila on a location where there is less strict status.

However, one problem is, that needs a decent budget since they have to rent the venue throughout the conference (around 3 months or less). Players and staff are not allowed to go back home (mostly in Manila) as part of staying in the said bubble. Regular testing should also be mandatory. PBA voice out concerns before about their loss so I doubt they will consider doing that.

Another problem is the location itself. Mostly, LGUs of the provinces don't allow visitors from those heavily infected areas. The reason some are against at "Balik-Probinsya" program that resulted in confirmed cases from those provinces with zero-cases.
