4582  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold seller JM Bullion hacked to steal customers' credit cards on: November 03, 2020, 09:24:16 PM
Well this is unfortunately all too common a case these days, hell even credit reporting companies who are supposed to keep this info protected above any other type of company, are being hacked.  But this has absolutely nothing to do with precious metals themselves, and not to mention there is no reason to compare bitcoin to precious metals.  They are two totally different things.
4583  Other / Archival / Re: Hong Kong bans retail trading of digital currencies on: November 03, 2020, 06:43:00 PM
Hong Kong decided to fight against unregulated crypto trading by introducing mandatory licensing.

Quote
The government planned to release a consultation paper on Tuesday afternoon to collect views on the proposed new rules, which aim to offer investors better protection by combating fraud and money laundering, said Christopher Hui Ching-yu, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury.

Apparently, there is a fight against money laundering and shadow operations, so they want to make everything transparent, so that all exchanges in Hong Kong are licensed, as well as foreign exchanges that provide services to local investors.

This is certainly not surprising to me, knowing China and how they operate. This is also why China has come out with that new centralized "cryptocurrency" where they can completely track how all the money is being spent.  China is all about full control.  Not saying this aspect is not the right thing to do, but they don't just care about the illegal activities.
4584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to cheat with Bitcoin! be careful on: November 03, 2020, 06:39:32 PM
This might belong better in the scam accusations thread ( or posting a link to this thread there might be a good idea as well). With that said..thank you for sharing with us.  There's so many scams out there praying on the uninformed, it's really sad.  I've come across these scams before as well. It's crazy how simple and obvious many of them seem, but a lot of people fall for them so it's important to expose them.
4585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Say Bitcoin is scam on: November 03, 2020, 06:36:38 PM
Bitcoin is definitely not a scam, the blockchain makes that virtually impossible.  However let's say that by some crazy way that it IS a scam, bitconnect is probably a pretty good example of how things would play out.  Most people would have such a hard time making withdraws , exchanges would be frozen for days, it would take a while to cash out and most people would lose a substantial amount of money.

4590  Economy / Collectibles / Info Seeking- Republic of Chad- Cryptocurrency Coins on: October 31, 2020, 03:46:17 PM
Sup ya'll.  So I came across these Republic of Chad coins with the style and design we just all have come to grown and love so much Smiley   Does anyone know anything about these coins?  I'm also curious if they produced them, or if they just licensed out their countries namesake, like this country ( and others like Cook Islands) often do so that the coins become legal tender.

Also Curious if they licensed it all out to Cold Storage Coins ( https://coldstoragecoins.com/ ).  I am not so sure about this company, who also runs Hotco.co and was the original maker of the MJB Monetary Metals coins.  The odd thing about them is they've not updated their social media for a couple years and as you can see on the website , it's clearly not being maintained.  Something just smells very fishy to me about them.

What's also interesting is NGC grading "crypto coins" who have said in the past they wouldn't do (even non-funded).

Any who, feedback welcomed.

4591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: October 30, 2020, 07:36:31 PM
The first time I ever voted on a Presidential election was 2016.  I was sold on the fact that Hilary was going to win, and put a decent amount down.  Needless to say I ended up not winning that bet.  This is a difficult thing to ever bet for myself personally, again that is, but I guess when you've got a 50/50 chance, it's never a horrible bet lol. Good luck to those who are betting this!
4592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If btc > $150k, will you still gamble it? on: October 30, 2020, 07:32:50 PM
After so much positive speculation, optimism in markets, accumulation by institutional investors, too many analysts predicting a new ATH for btc, let's say if everything goes good and btc reaches extremely high price, will you still gamble it? Or will you 'be able' to gamble it? Won't the fees distract you from using it in gambling?

Take the poll and share your opinion.

I don't see what changes if bitcoin does skyrocket past 150k per coin or whatever.  If if it does appreciate that much, then I think I would be much more willing to gamble because I've got more money to do so.  "Wont the fees distract you"..this doesn't even come in to play here.  How do we even know what fees will be then.  Not sure this question is relevant.
4593  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the Best Time to sell ? on: October 30, 2020, 07:29:42 PM
You don't need to think much when you are buying something but when you want to sell there is always a fear that what if the price increases?
As a boy belonging to middle-class family, I don't have a large share BTC hodling and now I am unable to figure out what should I do? Here are my few questions......
Should I hold for more time?
Should I buy some more now only or wait if the price dips a bit?

It all depends on your need and outlook for these bitcoins. Why did you buy bitcoin in the first place? Was it an investment, was it for buying something and you had some left over?  If it was for an investment, when you bought it what was your goal/plan?  Did you plan to sell it quickly if you made a sizable profit, or was it purchased as something you wanted to hold on to for a long while? If you didn't ask yourself these questions before buying, then do so now.  But remember to ask these questions before you do next time.  Answer the questions, then you get your answer what to do in this situation.
4594  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTB- Potcoin "Cold Storage Coin" on: October 30, 2020, 07:22:55 PM
Damn dude, you always find the coolest stuffz before the rest of us! Grin

I likey that too! A lot! Cheesy

Edit - Maybe Dennis bought them all? Huh

Lol I do tend to find some cool shit here and there, problem is finding it.  The other problem is not buying stuff when I should.  I found this coin several years ago and always wanted this one in particular but not sure why I didn't buy it at the time.  Of course when I go to actually buy it, it's sold out.

This coin definitely would go well w/my signed Dennis PotCoin business card lol.

As the title states, I'm looking to purchase this coin as seen below.  I am of course always willing to trade for this coin along with wanting to purchase it.  If you have  this coin available for sale please let me know or shoot me a direct message.  Much appreciated.

4596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren thoughts on Bitcoin on: October 29, 2020, 03:37:38 PM
Warren Buffet on an interview with CNBC said that Bitcoin and other cyrpto currency have no value,he said they don't produce anything "you don't do anything with it except sell it to someone else" he said is just Bitcoin will just reduce the demand of suitcase.
Seeing these statement  I had to bring it up in Bitcoin discussion ,but at the same time every one has his entitlement or point of view..

This has been discussed at nausea here.  Warren Buffet is a dinosaur and has a monetary reason to not like bitcoin or want it to succeed.  First of Buffet is known to avoid technology as well.  His recent apple purchase for berkshire hathaway was his first tech buy I think ever.  Warren has stated himself he doesn't understand bitcoin and or the blockchain, so his opinion, despite the fact that he is one of the all time great investors, isn't worth jack shit.  Gilfoyle does a good job explaining this on Silicon Valley https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_L0UPmxgho
4597  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: October 29, 2020, 03:15:20 PM
At his age now, I think he will just retire with the Lakers as long as he will have some star to stay with him like Davis.

With the last championship, he made a history already.

LeBron James Becomes 4th Player To Win NBA Championship With 3 Different Teams

He has already made history.

But I think for someone like him, there's more that he can do and with his age, it doesn't look like that he's old enough. Let's all wish that he's going to go with the Lakers until his retirement to pay a contribution for the Mamba.

With any of his decision, still many would love to support him.

Who says Lebron is old, at 35 he is still dominating the NBA, not winning the MVP season but we know why, because if he wants to do it, he will but he chooses to bring the ultimate success to the team which is winning the Finals which the Lakers are so hungry to taste that victory.

He would stay, alright, but he will sure make more history as a player as he is now very close in terms of stats to the greatest players in the NBA.
We're not saying that he's old but we're only telling his age at this point.

I also think that before he decides to retire, there should be something that can be remembered in his name. Just like the GOAT, there should be a unique brand and remembrance under his name and whatever it is.

We're sure to remember that he's one of the best.

Lebron is old in basketball standards, and really 35 is pretty old for any sport.  Lebron has already shown signs of his age and slowing down, though sure it can be hard to tell considering he's still one of the top players in the world.  That said Lebron has only a couple years left. No one is a super star in to their 40's in basketball.  I do think he's got 2-3 years of greatness left however.
4598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: MLB - Major League Baseball- Betting Thread on: October 29, 2020, 02:58:52 PM
Didn't want to see the dodgers win but at least it was a low scoring game Smiley

Honestly what was Kevin cash thinking pulling snell out in the 6th.  I know it was the third time around on the lineup but 1-3 were 0-6 against snell with 6 strikeouts!  Dude should be fired you can use stats all the time.  No way i would have pulled him.  Live and die with snell last night

That move was giving me flashbacks of the 2016 World Series where Joe Maddon was pulling his starters too early.  I get, they are going to their 3rd time around in the order, but your starting pitchers are there for a reason, they're your best pitchers overall.  Managers like to get too cute sometimes, and always think they've got to go to their bullpen when in reality the better pitcher is standing on the mound already.  Kevin Cash is certainly catching his fair share of flack for all this, deserving so.
4599  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think this is the start of mass adoption in Bitcoin? or Nah? on: October 29, 2020, 02:50:49 PM
I think PayPal accepting bitcoin was a MAJOR move towards the start of mass adoption.  I think that we have already been well on our way, but this was a massive bump forward in the right direction.  If you know PayPal at all, you're aware they are an immoral, fraudulent company that only cares about it's bottom line.  They in no way shape or form wanted to bring bitcoin or crypto on their platform as it technically goes against their entire business model.  The fact that they added bitcoin shows how far it's dominance/progression has come.  We are on our way to mass adoption, as we always have been, but have a long ways to go as well.
4600  Economy / Economics / Re: Down Jones intrinsic values?? on: October 29, 2020, 02:44:03 PM

Gold intrinsic values is gold mining from earth crust the man-power and their valuable life, the logistics of gold delivery.

Bitcoin intrinsic value is the mining rigs, the difficulty curve, the supply, the miner valuable life, the risk of delivery bitcoin to buyer without getting hacked.

What’s down joke intrinsic value? I think it’s backed by ever changing bluechips that won’t existed in the next tens or so years?

I'm not sure you really understand how the stock market works.  The Dow Jones is filled with 30 of the largest United States stocks.  Names such as Nike, Microsoft, 3M, Honeywell, Intel, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, The Home Depot, Walmart, Disney etc are what makes up the Dow.  These companies have been around for decades and will continue to be.  If you think they'll be gone in 10 years, I'd love to hear how/why?  The Dow, filled with 30 stocks, derives it's value from the companies that sell products, products that you and I likely use ever single day.  You are completely misguided.

Here's a proper explanation of intrinsic value btw- https://www.investopedia.com/terms/i/intrinsicvalue.asp
