461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A possibility to reverse bitcoin transactions that under 200 confirmations? on: September 23, 2018, 02:19:15 PM
Seems my intention for this post is answered. So this exploit is made by a modification and is now cured. So I guess there is nothing to worry about. I hope this doesn't affect the market that much. But I'm sure it will.

Thank you for all that it explained it for us.
462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Protect Your Forum Accounts from Unknown Bounty Participation! on: September 23, 2018, 02:06:21 PM
This happens all the time.
That's why a bounty campaign manager should ask the participant to resgister the proof of authentication post.
So, the scammer can't duplicate our entry

So how this proof of authentication work?

Can anybody here tell me how to do this proof of authentication thing and how it will work?
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A possibility to reverse bitcoin transactions that under 200 confirmations? on: September 23, 2018, 05:32:20 AM
in simple terms there was a "bug" in bitcoin core full nodes. this bug can be exploited by a miner to mine an invalid block. if other miners start building on top of this invalid block we can end up with a chain of blocks that will all be invalid essentially making every transactions in those blocks not-final. depending on how fast we can detect this initial invalid block the size of that invalid chain can differ. so what you would see in that situation is a transaction that is confirmed but confirmed in a block that was invalid and needs to be orphaned. doing that means the transaction  becomes spendable again.

to avoid this risk you wait for a much bigger number of confirmation so that if such an incident happened there is enough time for it to be found and you to be informed about it.

Thank you for the simple and newbie-friendly explanation.I hope that more newbies will read it.
Anyway,Bitcoin Core is updated and that bug won't be a threat for the blockchain anymore.
I wonder,I would've happened,if most of the miners started expoiting that bug. Will this lead to a major bitcoin price crash?

Thank you pooya87! That was a wonderful explanation.

Davis196, that would lead to a crash especially if the blocks created under that block became huge.  The trust on bitcoin system will diminish at a large scale again. Good thing devs continues the development.

But the headline says that this exploit is already in the system since before and devs js just hiding it,  sort of.  Is that true?
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / A possibility to reverse bitcoin transactions that under 200 confirmations? on: September 23, 2018, 03:44:56 AM
I just read it here https://www.facebook.com/404460532994922/posts/1889872444453716/

I hope someone here can explain it in a beginner friendly way.

And if this is really possible. Then it maybe the end of everything.  I don't know.

Edit: Read it here also just now,  still doesnt make sense for me. Please enlighten us a bit more. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5034070.0
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its time to move on, and ignore the BTC !!! on: September 22, 2018, 12:54:44 PM
We can only win this battle if you leave your finger off the Sell button.

Agreed. We should hodl and keep our part of the ration, do not give them your part of this million dollar technology. That is what they wanted.
466  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can I punish bad translator ? on: September 22, 2018, 12:47:37 PM
The bounty manager can penalize him, try reporting him to them. They will surely handle it fast. Also, right, try using here the trust system here.
467  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin after several years? on: September 22, 2018, 12:43:24 PM
what do you think will happen on bitcoin after several years?
i expect that bitcoin will a more bigger continuities and maybe that we can use bitcoin currency in public like buying in a supermarket cause we alk know that technology in our world was growing in every second that's only what I'm thinking
what about your thoughts?

I think bitcoin will be a part of everyone's digital life, especially in paying online orders, like groceries, food, some stuff. Bitcoin will be the most trusted means of payment than to show your bank account to the internet and later exposing your identity.

They can still impose taxes on payments in bitcoin. But it will be like a payment in a convenience store.
468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early BTC adopters still hodling? on: September 22, 2018, 12:36:15 PM
1. don't know.
2. sound problem( you can't here your voice if you use asicminer), Electricity cost is too much.

Electricity should not be a problem back in the early days because as most here say's, bitcoin before can be mined even on a laptop. And plus, the fact that the network is not that crowded. There will be so little or few transactions to handle.
469  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daily trading experience on: September 21, 2018, 01:45:49 PM
if I may know, in what ways do you analyze the market? can this be trusted? can the analysis you provide be accounted for? Is your analysis sure that it can provide benefits for members?

It is not my analysis, I'm a part of a community of day traders. The analysis is a depth chart based on buy\sell orders book. Come check it out, it's free community with a lot of genuine and helpful people.
I appreciate your work, at least this is an attempt to help members analyze trade. however, trade is entirely private property and every decision must be determined by itself.

It's a well-managed group I must say. But agreed with you, every decision on placing an order or selling holds should be under your intellectual decision based on a technique. You can't give your trust to them that easily. What if they are whales and is trying to just get the market on their side.
470  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Shitcoin Offering [SCAM Slayer] on: September 21, 2018, 01:35:40 PM
Yes!

there are many other websites like that why do you guys continue fragmenting the economy instead of fusioning into bigger groups?

shitcoin is nowadays also often used to insult everything that is not on ones agenda or even worse, that doesnt bribed one to do something else.

like a websie i heard of that does only negative reviews except someone pays for a different review

I like the website especially the headlines. OP should use a more modern style of grids, or masonry for the post. Or better else choose a better theme? Is it?

It's like any youtube channel that talks about travels, news websites that talk about the same news. The game here is the article I don't see a problem with that. The only problem is when they break down readers trust by, as you said, accepting sponsorships from other shitcoins.
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrency so difficult to understand on: September 21, 2018, 01:24:56 PM
I engaged with young people and layman people in my communities on the quest of exposing them to cryptocurrency. During the period I discovered that they find It so difficult to understand the concepts, they are so much acquainted with fiat currency and traditional ways of making payment transactions.
I will be impress If I can get a valuable ways and methods in making them understand what cryptocurrency is all about and engage them actively.

Wow, I was surprised with what OP is doing. Is it for the benefit of nothing or are you promoting a coin? As per the books, I have read, the best way to sell is to actually focus on the idea, not about the product itself. Give them ideas of how are they going to benefit about the product, always wear their shoes.
472  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nowadays, even ordinary laptops can mine bitcoins. on: September 20, 2018, 01:17:07 PM
Because it requires a lot of power and electrical resources are not small, the process of mining (mining) cryptocurrency is usually done with a special computer. Can be a desktop that is fitted with many graphics cards to server farm.

But lately emerged an alternative form of software that allows users with laptops or regular computers to participate in mining without needing to spend to buy expensive devices.

The Honeyminer startup software runs dynamic mining by combining the user's computer into a pool of thousands of other computers. Each computer contributes power to the cryptocurrency mining process.

The "power" donated comes from the computer GPU. If it is not in use, then the computer GPU will be used to participate in processing the mining process together with GPU kompter-other computers incorporated in the pool Honeyminer.

Thus, while the GPU capability of a computer may be small, the combined power of thousands of GPUs can generate significant resources for this collective mining process.

More of like Nicehash. I don't trust software like this, plus the fact that it slows down the computer so much, I can't even use it.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I want to use mobile data for Bitcoin related web pages on: September 20, 2018, 01:11:06 PM

Yeah, use Tor. You can download Orbot and Orfox app. They are official apps from Tor project that allow you to browse Internet over Tor, on your Android.
I suggest you don't use mobile data as well, since Tor is slow enough on it's own.

Enjoy your private, censorship resistant Internet.

Agreed tor is slow but secure. OP must choose from security vs time. I bet time, well for me, as posted here by most of the people, we can use VPN to add security on fast wireless connection.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ~BTC in Medical Industry on: September 20, 2018, 01:04:37 PM
Is it possible someday that Medical Hospitals accept BTC as a payment for Hospital bills and other fees??

The time will surely come that this will be a normal event in every hospital and major establishment on earth. And by that time we will be millionaires!

476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell car for Bitcoin on: September 19, 2018, 01:00:57 PM
My friend decided to sell his car and invest all the money in Bitcoin as some people predict that 1 BTC will reach 500 000$ till the end of 2019.
He totally believes in it and tells that then he could buy not only a new car but a flat also.

Does it really worth it? He uses his car for his work and now he wouldn't be able to do this anymore as he thinks there's no need to work anymore.

Bitcoin last year hit only 20,000 USD, given it gets so much popularity and many people bought it. That was in a year, though we should not close any possibilities. But let's face the facts, it will need more than just popularity. It will need worldwide usage or more.
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nakamotofoundation.org? on: September 19, 2018, 12:54:07 PM
The website is now 404 not found. Do someone at least had the copy of the duality pdf? I would like to check that out and read.
478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHY ARE PEOPLE STILL CONDEMNING BITCOINS on: September 19, 2018, 12:49:07 PM
Bitcoin is growing stronger, lets forget about the red on the market. WE WILL SEE GREEN SOON AND IT WILL BE ALL SMILES.

this is exactly why the price is not rising yet. it is because all you care about is that fiat you so love and want to increase. you talk about bitcoin's adoption as a currency, you talk about the technology,... but in the end all you care about is profit on your fiat. and that is why price doesn't rise because if you believed in what you said here then you would have been spending bitcoin, encouraging businesses to accept bitcoin all around you,... instead you are waiting for a rise to sell your bags and be rich.

Exactly on point. It is really sad that this is the truth, I myself more like to use fiat than bitcoin, Especially that I am in a third world country. If bitcoin was just accessible enough to replace my atm for use on convenient stores then I will be delightful to do so.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bloodbath: Bitcoin and Ethereum Record Losses in $10 Billion Wipeout on: September 18, 2018, 01:11:35 PM
Yes, I think it is possible, that is why many people here wanted many people to adopt and use bitcoin. So we don't people like that whale to easily manipulate the market.
480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin (BTC) down $200 on: September 18, 2018, 01:04:29 PM
Hello, the link that you have sent is about the Bitcoin cash, not for Bitcoin itselfs! When i read the topic i said "oh that news must be worst".. Thankfuly that was a mistake:) For my opinion the BTC never comes that low like 200, it is impossible. The World never let that happen to Bitcoin right now..

I was also startled because of the title of the post. I thought it was bitcoin the drop down that fast.
