461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should Ethereum Add the "Frozen Wallet" Feature for Certain Adresss? on: November 04, 2019, 05:42:06 PM
As we know, there are currently many cases of crypto hacking, especially this often occurs in ERC20-based tokens. So to anticipate this, should Ethereum add the "Frozen Wallet" feature just for certain Adresss to their smart contract? I think this way can prevent the hackers to selling their loot. Although this method will change the crypto vision from "decentralization" to "centralization", but if this method is effective I think it's no matter.

What do you think?

Ethereum can't control tokens issued in it's platform but it does provide them with necessary tools to program themselves according to the need.
Tokens issued in ethereum platform can create the function to freeze accounts with smart contracts and it can be used in the case of large hacks. Disintegrating the hacked token and minting new could be possible.
462  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex started supporting native Segwit (bech32 - bc1) deposits & withdrawals. on: November 04, 2019, 05:36:30 PM
https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/427

It doesn't happen very often that the headlines about Bitfinex are positive for them and the rest of the ecosystem, but this time it's different.

It really sucks that there are plenty of exchanges still not allowing their traders to withdraw to bc1 addresses. I hope that this will motivate other exchanges to follow the same path.

According to an exchange of Tweets between CZ and a Bitcoiner earlier this month, CZ has indicated to roll out support for Segwit before the end of the year. Not sure how serious he is here, but it would provide a massive boost for Segwit's adoption. Lets hope for the best.  Shocked

This is a good move from bitfinex, hope they would also remove the deposit fees they are asking for. I've always found that deposit fee useless.
Traders generally look for low fees, if many of exchanges also support native segwit, it would increase capital flow between exchanges resulting into stabler market.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance(BNB) best alt coin ! on: November 04, 2019, 05:31:02 PM
BNB has performed well in the last few years but it's price rise has been halted at the moment. It rose upto $39 and decreased to this level. It's rise was largely contributed to the ticket awarding system of binance for IEO for which a user must hold a hefty amount of BNB in their wallet. After the large IEO investors bought the coins, the trading has slowed and the coin is not making any significant progress in terms of price.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Brandt: 99% of Altcoins Will Be Forgotten in Five Years on: September 07, 2019, 06:00:51 PM
Peter Brandt as actually gotten this wrong, it is true that some altcoins are shitty and will not even exist anymore before the five years time he's saying, but more it can not be upto 99% of the altcoins. Coins like Ethereum, Dash and Doge will keep existing for a very long time.

The problem in here is, there are a hundred of projects created daily. If we are counting it, approximately around 36.500 projects created yearly. That means he's mathematically not wrong about it because 100 projects can be considered as 1% of our total altcoins right now.

Yup. We might have already forgotten 50% of created altcoins as they are dead already. And it's no wonder in 5 years time with the emergence of new technology and coins, most of the current coins would be obsolete, go out of any exchanges or cease to operate. Some coins would have hype but zero development, people would soon realize about them and as no new investors come in, they'll crash to zero.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why exchanges most interested to launch IEO? on: September 05, 2019, 04:27:53 PM
IEOs are high in demand and is another way of making money for exchange. Not only they gain with the fees, it would also increase the total deposit to the exchange and increase the volume of transaction between different coin in the exchange. It increases the userbase and even thought the IEO model may fail in the future, they'd have other ways of earning with the existing userbase.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain technology is getting more and more misused by scammers. on: September 05, 2019, 04:08:52 PM
Finally, most projects present blockchain as a pill for every malady. But does it really make sense for that particular industry? Is it possible to implement the same project without a native token? Is blockchain tech a decisive factor in the final product’s infrastructure, or it could work pretty much the same without all those distributed ledgers and smart contracts? Does it really disrupt anything but your patience for the word ‘disruption?’

Every single good technologies are been misused by criminals, scammers and hackers, there is no real way to stop this and preventing this is impossible, this tech is been build for easy money saving and means of payment for humans but bad people will always use it as weapon of destruction on innocent people, this is not blockchain fault

Where there is attention and money, scammers would fled into it. It's not just the blockchain or the internet.
But the difference between real world and virtual one is that, unlike real world scammers most of the virtual world scammers are not brought into justice.
So, it's basically the investors who should decide what risks he/she wants to take.

468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some New Projects Will Take Over some Old Projects on: July 20, 2019, 02:59:27 PM
Some new coins will take over some old top 20 coins from now on and by 2022,I know some old coins will still be on the list because they are more trusty but the truth is some badass new projects will rise to the top as well,I won't start dropping lists but these new coins have something that some top coins don't have and that's real life use case, many knows it as working product. DYOR

New will always replace the old. It's a never ending process. This is most prominent in the technology field than anywhere else.
Bitcoin is a pioneer of blockchain based cryptocurrency. The future would respect it by creating more advanced for of cryptocurrencies.
The one's that will be directly implemented with our IOT and banks.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: can libra upset world economy if not regulated ? on: July 20, 2019, 02:15:53 PM
since the past few months, Facebook decided to launch its own coin, they have been a lot of controversies, as some compared the altcoin directly with bitcoin.

one of its major controversy is if it can upset the world economy, if not regulated.  The worry of majority is  prospective firm having as much power as countries in creating a means of payment.

According to Benoit Coeure, Global stable coin could boost competition in payment sector, reduce fees for consumer and support greater financial inclusion, but warned it might undermine the effort to clamp down on money laundering, terrorism financing and tax compliance.

Is Facebook launching a stable coin on a global scale without regulations harmful to world economy?

It would be really early to decide whether it would be harmful or not. But we should move forward to new technology that makes our lives easier.
If globally adopted, Libra could challenge the current financial system and cause drastic changes on how countries do their finance and how the government collects taxes.
470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Vs KuCoin on: July 20, 2019, 02:12:45 PM
Binance has a better volume, larger number of coins and comparatively better fees. Similarly Kucoin has some unique new tokens, fees mostly identical to binance and a lot more promotions where every users can participate. Both are friendly to global users.
471  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A SHIFT FROM ICO TO IEO on: July 18, 2019, 04:07:12 PM
For sometime now all the upcoming cryptocurrencies are making a paradigm shift in our old ICO format and trying to do IEOs first. I know it's one of the best remedies for them even on this hard times in cryptocurrency markets. I want to know that is this going to help the upcoming coins or not?

Also is it that they want to just make their monies and run away because now they think the easiest way to make people buy their coins is to do an IEO??

It would be difficult for scam project to get listed in IEO of reputed exchanges and every reputable exchanges do a basic research about the team and contact the team members personally. It doesn't mean there would be no scam, but it would take the scam project extra effort to get good exchanges believe in them.
472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook libra hearing on: July 17, 2019, 01:51:03 PM
Facebook hyped a lot more and now would settle for lot less. They are heading towards being another paypal.
Facebook can't go against it's real owner the US government. Decentralization would hurt the total essence of Facebook's existence.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever looked at how much you have wagered with a hanging mouth? :P on: July 17, 2019, 01:47:31 PM
I have quit gambling now.

However, when I look at the wager amount of my accounts in various sites and add them up, a total of 15 BTC comes up!

That's around $150000= 10,500,000 INR ! Around 1 crore Rupees or 0.15 million dollars!

I know it's easy to reach that wager since wager counts all bets even on 99% chance wins so if someone with 1 BTC wagers 20 times on 99% win chance and win all, they will wager 20 BTC!

But still to think I have wagered that much amount leaves me with a open mouth sometimes. Overall I'm in loss tho xD

Wagering is nothing and that signifies nothing except you've rolled a lot of times. The thing we should consider is our total win or loss.
For me alone, I've lost over $3000 on gambling in the last 6 months. Half of it on the same day. I couldn't sleep for 2 days, decided to give up gambling for life but again.
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralized exchanges vs Decentralized exchanges on: July 16, 2019, 03:10:25 PM
People love the concept of decentralized exchange but these decentralized exchange has not been advance enough to fulfill the needs of regular traders. Binance dex is a start, BNB as a gas. Low fees but again BNB too is a speculative coin. Dex should use a stable coin as a gas and calculate the fees according to the volume.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ron Paul Pledges Allegiance to Bitcoin, Calls Crypto a ‘Great Idea’ on: July 16, 2019, 02:29:51 PM
Raun had been giving conflicting ideas about bitcoin and crypto. Sometimes he seem to find a problem in it while sometimes he consider it as a solution.
He's a politician and he speaks what would attract people towards him. Whatever he may say, this man would never come to get away from the shadow of Donald Trump.
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty Campaign After Getting Listed on: July 16, 2019, 02:21:48 PM
I notice that some coins that are already in the market are doing bounty campaign again like Credits, Veil Eterbase and among others, do you think it's important for a coins/tokens that are already listed to run a bounty campaign from time to time even if they are already listed in exchanges.

Bounty is a good way of increasing the community. It is also a tool for boosting the decentralization of the coin. Bounty distribution would diversify the holdings and hence whatever small, creates a buffer against whale movements. More specifically it's a advertisement strategy that would attract more people towards the coin.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 16, 2019, 02:09:20 PM
~snip~
The cricket world cup was a heavily contested and very close match and one funny thing that was an instant hit was that the losing captain of New Zealand Kane Williamson and Roger Federer share the same birth date 8th of August and both were on the loosing side even though Federer won 36 games and Djokovic won just 32 games and still lost the match  Cheesy. Either way it was a epic day for sports fans to see those two great battles, i was watching both the matches in split screen and it was epic.
In my house everyone is cricket fan and no one understand Tennis so even if I would have this in mind to split screen then I could not do that. I will have this regret always that I missed one legendary battle while I was watching another legendary battle for a different sports.

I will need to find a copy of the full match of this final or at-least the record of the fifth set and the tie break.

There's no point of discussing a better sport. Cricket is one of the popular team sport while Tennis is one of the best individual or dual sport.
As of the popularity, Tennis is much more popular in global context while Cricket is fairly popular in south Asia.

They are quite active on social media and making partnerships and listings but I haven't heard any special news that may bring back this token in spotlight. Still a good token if you want to diversify your portfolio.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: July 09, 2019, 01:48:37 PM
India started really well and the disappointing tournament of Martil Guptil continues as he lost his wicket after facing more than 2 tentative minutes in the crease, it all depends upon how Williamson plays today and he is the trump card to know how much New Zealand is going to post today and can trouble the Indian top order. If they could not post a good total India will chase them easily as they have youth and experience in their key players.

Considering the pitch it's not a bad performance from New Zealand. Ross Taylor did a good job sticking to the wicket. Now everything lies on how Kiwis could bowl and field. India has been consistent on both batting and bowling. IMO This is going to be a competitive match till the last overs.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: July 06, 2019, 04:53:07 PM
That was another humiliating defeat for Sri Lanka on their last match. Meanwhile South Africa has put an impressive score against Australia and Australians seems to be struggling to chase that. If Australia to lose that, India would meet New Zealand in the semis. We'd be testing the abandoned match here. And New Zealand generally have been impressive against India.
