461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Smart contract in Bitcoin World like Ethereum? on: January 16, 2018, 08:00:37 AM
The bitcoin script language is limited in functionality and can't do Ethereum-like smart contracts.
Fortunately there's a sidechain called Rootstock that aims to provide smart contract functionality to the bitcoin blockchain.

462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Transaction stuck CONFIRMING? Receiving confirmations but still pending! on: January 16, 2018, 07:49:11 AM
This is not a bitcoin problem.
The transaction has been confirmed so it's up to your Ponzi scheme "lending platform" to credit your account on their site.
Open a support ticket there.
463  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase to Coinpayments.net Transaction Confirms 6+ No Funds Appear in Wallet on: January 15, 2018, 08:46:42 PM
Happens even on exchange wallets.
Transactions get many confirmations but funds don't show in the wallet.

I guess they can't scale to the influx of new users.
464  Other / Off-topic / Re: have btc on my desktop wallet on: January 15, 2018, 09:28:03 AM
Just use a *Unix based OS.
And you don't have to worry about honeypots like antivirus.
465  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase to Coinpayments.net Transaction Confirms 6+ No Funds Appear in Wallet on: January 15, 2018, 07:27:36 AM
Transaction has been confirmed already.
You'll have to keep pestering Coinpayments to credit your wallet.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Claiming bitcoin Cash from bitcoin core/Ladger Nano S on: January 15, 2018, 07:26:34 AM
Hallo,
my bitcoins were on the bitcoin core until from 2012 until the 1.12.2017, than i have moved them into a ladger-nano S wallet.
i am trying to claim the bitcoin cash through the bitcoin abc wallet but the account shows 0 BCC
Any ideas on how to or even if its still possible to claim the BCC?
thanks!
How are you trying to do it?
(I hope you're not running both on the same computer, or you installed ABC in a different directory so it doesn't overwrite your wallet.dat file from bitcoin core)

You said you sent out your bitcoin from bitcoin core so you can import your wallet.dat file into bitcoin ABC.
Backup bitcoin core wallet then copy and paste the wallet.dat file into the bitcoin ABC directory replacing the wallet.dat file there.
You'll have to wait and download the blockchain before you do this.

You don't have to do anything for the Ledger as the bitcoin cash did not go with the bitcoin when you sent it there.

467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help: i Withdraw money before fully synchronous form Bitcoin core wallet on: January 15, 2018, 07:15:56 AM
thanks to all you

i just got my bitcoin in wallet now but still not sure if i should withdraw them or invest them somewhere else but where should invest them is still a question ?

any suggestion

The most rational thing to do is to hodl your bitcoin in your wallet.
That's the safest course of action.

Do not put your bitcoin in "investment schemes" as they are all Ponzi schemes.

Of course you can try altcoin trading to increase your BTC stack but that's mostly gambling if you don't know how to do it properly.
468  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can't find my BTC on: January 14, 2018, 08:55:07 PM
Coinpayments controls the private key to your deposit address so they control the funds there.

You'll have to open a support ticket and write to them that your transaction that was confirmed has not been credited to your wallet on their site.

They're the only ones that can help you.
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Fraud bitcoin and etherium transactions on: January 14, 2018, 08:51:25 PM
The other side of decentralisation is that nothing can be done.
No one owns either blockchain.
As long as the transactions were valid then it's a valid transaction accepted by the network and is immutable, no matter where the funds were from or what the transaction was for.

Sorry for your loss but there's nothing you can do.
470  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain Mobile app error on: January 14, 2018, 04:13:10 PM
i tried 15$ Fee for 200$ Transaction
1.) Don't use USD prices to quote fees.

2.) Fees do not depend on the amount you're sending but the inputs of your transaction.

Either increase your fee, or import your seed into another wallet and try to spend from there.
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help: i Withdraw money before fully synchronous form Bitcoin core wallet on: January 14, 2018, 04:09:30 PM
Hey thanks for the reply

My
Transaction ID: 3cbc83ea343acebaef2142ea32376caaf8d329d85f4eb5606ea6b94298327cb3
Your transaction fee is too low z just 20sats/byte, while recommended fee is currently about 20 times that.

You'll have to stop broadcasting the transaction by using
Code:
zapwlettxes

Backup your wallet.dat file then run
Code:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt" --zapwallettxes=1
on the command line.

Then rescan.

(Edit: Follow LoyceV's post above)
When you're done, you can now resend the bitcoin again with a higher fee.
For that you'll need to reduce the amount you're sending if you want it to get confirmed quickly so you can cover the fees.
472  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Percentage of blocks signalling SegWit support on: January 14, 2018, 03:55:58 PM
That is old info.
Some BCash miners are still signalling segwit support

It doesn't mean anything now.
It was relevant before segwit was activated, that was how you knew which miners supported it.

Segwit transactions can fit in the same block as legacy transactions.
There is no... discrimination (for lack of a better word) between them.
473  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain Mobile app error on: January 14, 2018, 02:24:58 PM
The fee you used is too small, so the node won't propagate it.

You'll need to increase your fee, or import your seed in another wallet and send with the same fee, but note that your transaction may get stuck of your fees are too low.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help: i Withdraw money before fully synchronous form Bitcoin core wallet on: January 14, 2018, 02:21:31 PM
Your transaction is unconfirmed,  meaning it has not been accepted by miners into the block chain.

It may be caused by you using a low fee.

Post your transaction ID so we can analyze the transaction and give you options.

If you have more funds in the wallet you MAY be able to do a replace-by-fee with Electrum or make a child pays for parent transaction.
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: URGENT - Is my Ledger damaged? Big tip for successful retrieval of my BTC on: January 14, 2018, 10:36:48 AM
Maybe it's a ledger problem?
Why not import your seed into another wallet client and see if your bit coin shows up?

Or you could run Ian Coleman's tool and tweak the derivation path to search for the address.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Negative Balance? on: January 14, 2018, 07:31:58 AM
Interesting, can someone still 'spend' unconfirmed transaction while receiving it from another user\?
Yes, you can.
Not all wallets allow this though.

And the child transaction will not confirm unless the parent transaction gets confirmed.
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: my btc transaction is unconfirmed on: January 13, 2018, 05:46:54 PM
You'll get better help from miners in the service section.

If your transaction has at least a 10sat/byte fee then you can try ViaBTC's free transaction acceleration service.
You'll have to do it at the top of the hour exactly because there are limited slots per hour.

478  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: What if there're 2 blocks verified? on: January 13, 2018, 05:44:05 PM
No, your question is not dumb.
It explains why bitcoin doesn't have faster block times.

Rarely two blocks are found at the same time but by different miners, when both a broadcast the nodes favor the one with more proof-of-work.
The other block becomes orphaned and the transactions there that were confirmed for a bit become unconfirmed if they're not present in the competing block that was found and they return to the mempool awaiting the next block.

That's hey you're advised to wait for 6 confirmations to accept Bitcoin as finally confirmed in case there is a block reorg.

If you want to read more on this check out Andreas Antonopolous' book Mastering Bitcoin.
479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Are the sub wallets within a HD wallet visibly linked on the blockchain on: January 13, 2018, 01:04:23 PM
It depends.
They aren't linked prima facie so no one can say that address 1xxx and 1yyy were generated from the same seed and are present in the same wallet.

It can be linked if you combine inputs for a transaction though, that suggests that the same person has the private keys to both addresses.

For example if you received 0.4BTC in address 1xxx and received 0.6 BTC 1yyy and want to make a 0.8 BTC payment.
Your wallet will combine inputs from both 1xxx and 1yyy to complete the transaction, and if your identity has been linked to 1xxx for instance, and it is combined in a transaction with 1yyy then it suggests that the same person owns both addresses (excluding coinjoin transactions)
480  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Anyone whose own some fair amount of bitcoins should also own a mining machine on: January 13, 2018, 12:50:45 PM
So, I think there is a huge misconception of so called 'greedy' miners. The issue of higher fees isn't really the miners fault. It is the rules of the protocol that is.  For example:

In the protocol (disregarding the security aspect for a moment) It doesn't matter if there is 1 miner mining or 1 billion miners mining. The maximum number of transactions allowed in a block is exactly the same and the amount of time for that block to be mined will also be the same.

I think maybe a solution to high fees would be to make a rule that would require a First In First Out system with a guaranteed minimum fee. Now this wouldn't decrease transactions or transaction time, but would remove user incentives to offer higher fees because they would have to wait their turn to be confirmed, creating a more level playing ground. This would also give businesses some reassurance that they will get paid once the transaction has been broadcasted in a somewhat predictable matter of time.

Just a thought.
What do you mean by "first in first out"?
Transaction relay times do not matter because nodes receive different transactions at different times.
That's why the blockchain is needed and why blocks are timestamped.
