461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why running NFTs on Bitcoin blockchain is a dumb idea. on: February 03, 2023, 06:54:25 PM
Will Ordinals and NFTs Destroy Bitcoin?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJr8yUf3dYk

Energy usage of bitcoin is high enough as it is and should be reserved for more worthwhile applications. Transferring around monkey jpegs and/or porn images on the network is a pointless waste of energy. The congestion and bloat this would create will lead to higher fees for users, clog and slow the network with useless traffic that can potentially compromise security with overcomplexity and bloat. Bitcoin should remain true to its core mission and principles-- the most sound money ever created and greatest store of value.

Once you try to be too many things and try to please everyone, you just become another stupid altcoin.
Leave the idiots to play around with their ethereum and solana, monkey pics, etc.

Energy usage is still a very first world problem, i mean a user might not be directly impacted by it. But the biggest problem is the scaling of the chain. Doing such things will put unnecessary pressure on already a very crowded chain which might become even slower and expensive. Obviously it makes zero sense to bring this NFT shit in bitcoin chain. I remember how bad the Eth chain went during that crypto kitties saga.
462  Local / India / Re: What are your expectation from Union Budget 2023? on: February 03, 2023, 06:51:01 PM
As expected nothing for crypto in this year's budget. I heard some people were expecting relief relating to TDS on crypto but I don't think that is going to happen until they have 30% tax on Cryptos. Government to hese days is in direction of applying TDS everywhere wherever possible in such a scenario they obviously won't leave Cryptos out of this scope. Other than Cryptos also, overall it's just a usual budget nothing new, nothing huge, some allocation cuts from major schemes given to othe schemes. Tax relief just for name sake as most of the assessees opt for old scheme only.
463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to trade short term in crypto,, on: February 03, 2023, 06:48:05 PM
I'm still new to crypto, but I want to ask you all, how to trade for the short term in crypto, so that our continue to be profitable..?
Learn trading. That's the only way to earn short term in crypto. Be proper trader by getting grip of good charting patterns and indicators not only this make sure you make one favourite pair and trade on that only, you'll come to know how that coin behaves in particular situation. This is the one and only way to become profitable short term, this also you'll be able to reach after a lots of hit and trials only.
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which countries do you think this year will adopt Bitcoin as a Legal tender? on: February 03, 2023, 05:51:43 PM
I think it's hard to predict which country will go through such a proposal no one even expected El Salvador would do such a thing before they actually did it. I believe it not only depends on country's own will to do that but the will of countries which support that country as it is often seen that small nations are at mercy of the big nations for some or the other resources, any country under influence of any such big nation is never going to make such a proposal.
465  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Deal with Volatility? on: February 02, 2023, 11:58:16 PM
Volatility is a trader's friend and obviously it's worst enemy as well. Volatile makes sure you get quick returns or quick gains whenever a coin moves in any direction. I feel volatility ensures that your capital is not stuck in just one trade and obviously it's always beneficial to trade volatile coins. But at the same time volatility if it goes in the opposite direction can hurt you badly ofcourse. It'll not only kill you with losses but also make you lose your confidence in trading so it has to be dealt very smartly with proper stop losses.
466  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think will happen if... on: February 02, 2023, 11:56:02 PM
What do you think will happen to crypto if institutional investors all decide to stay away from crypto investment this time around? Do you think crypto can surge of it's own especially Bitcoin without the help of institutional investors money, do not yab me for this question, I am not sure what will happen I only need people's different opinions.
It won't happen, institutional investor wants to make money always. If the existing ones decide to move to some other markets there will be definitely new ones which will decide to trade this market. So this will be a never ending circle. Big or smart money will always be there in every market and will be a major reason for market cycles. And even if it decides to part ways I think the next big guns will realise the vaccum and decide to make cartels of their own to manipulate market. So this smart money will always stay.
467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 01, 2023, 04:55:33 PM
India are obliterating NZ at the moment. For a second, I actually thought that this was a T-10 or something. Gill along with Pandya, Sky and Tripathi set India with a monster total while Singh and Pandya are eliminating the NZ batsmen like dominoes.

This match is over people. India whacked NZ out of the series and into space in the 3rd match.
I think it's pretty evident now that Gill is the next big thing for India in cricket, we have got the number 1 choice of opener with Rohit Sharma, probably Ishan Kishan can fill the position once Rohit retires. I am just hoping gill performs similarly in test cricket as well because if he does one can say he is the next Indian prodigy. But I will be much more confident about him once he scores with similar potential on foreign pitches as well. Also this clearly shows that how he can change gears while he is batting.
468  Economy / Economics / Re: Billionaires keep losing billions of dollars why poverty rate is increasing on: January 29, 2023, 07:11:48 PM
I am always skeptical why billionaires are always losing huge amount of money in days while people are suffering. Last time I read in a new that Elon Musk loses upto 4 billions in just few hours and the other time he made close or more than that in days. Money that would be very hard for an employee or middle class business owners to make in a year.

If we take a look on the news we will see that billionaires loses upto 2 trillions dollar last year and this January we had been hearing about several loses from some of the world billionaires.

Last year I heard that Jeff Bezos loses up to 80 billion dollars and Mark Zuckerberg also loses close to that amount which is enough to allivate poverty from a continent. The cause of their lose is best known to them but I think the funds should have been used to help the poor rather than allowing the money to vanish in a thin air.

I have seen so many programs fro the masses especially to aid those that are in need. Some of these aid organisations do seek for donations from individuals, companies that are ready to help with funds. When we have billionaires losing huge amount of money every year, why not they use those money to help the poor rather than losing them
Haha the value of these losses is not realised loss. I'll tell you how it works. Most of the wealth that these people carry is in form of assets. Like Elon Musk has shared of Tesla and Jeff has shared of Amazon, it's the price of these shares which went so high and they had so much of them that they reached at top richest billionaires list. Now they don't actually have this money in liquid form which means if they were to sell it they might fetch a much lower value infact they selling this might in itself reduce the value of these shares a lot. So when you see that someone lost 4 Billion dollars it's not that they gambled last night and lost it, actually the price of the share went down which reduces their wealth it was anyways not hard cash money so it can't be used to alleviate poverty.
469  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should Ukraine Surrender? on: January 29, 2023, 07:03:35 PM
We're all away of the lingering crisis which has befallen Ukraine since its invasion by the Russian military. Since then all effort put in place to restore peace has so far proven abortive. Lives and properties have been destroyed and billions of dollars spent yet, Russia has refused to back off and Ukraine refused to surrender.

Now I'm pushed to ask if you were to be the Ukraine president, would you consider to surrender so as to stop this continuous destruction or prefer to continue the defense?
That actually looks to me as a solution but whether they should do it or not depends upon consequences of the surrender because if it would lead to Annexation of Ukrain or it being part of Russia it makes no sense what so ever to surrender. But if it means losing just a small piece of territory and good relations with Russia moving forward it really could be the best option but obviously it will look like a big defeat both for Ukraine and the NATO, not only that it might make Russia think it can anytime start a war with Ukraine to get new areas from them.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 29, 2023, 06:50:51 PM
2nd T20 match India Cricket Team vs New Zealand Cricket Team. New Zealand cricket team played an unexpected game in today's match. New Zealand cricket team played very badly. New Zealand cricket team set a target of 100 runs to the Indian cricket team. Indian cricket team will be able to meet such a small target very easily. In today's match, the bowlers of the Indian cricket team have shown a great performance in bowling. Let's see how many overs the Indian cricket team can complete the target till the end of the game
What a match, this match shows that it's not necessary in T20s to just make runs outright on every ball you have to protect your wicket as well. And Surya Kumar Yadav surprisingly did so well to fit in this role as well. A really astonishing win for India this time. Now the series is back in play. I am expecting Some great innings from Surya in the next match. It was obviously a howlers match.
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to acquire Bitcoin without having the basic knowledge? on: January 29, 2023, 06:43:07 PM
I was talking to a neighbour within the weekend and suddenly he grew so much passion in wanting to invest but now the problem is that his wanting me do this for him with excuses of not having the basic knowledge and I've told him to Google and do his own research about it.
I want to know if it's safe to buy Bitcoin without having the basic knowledge of it ?
Yes it is absolutely safe to buy bitcoin without having the basic knowledge about it only make sure that you don't buy any other Cryptocurrency and also make sure that you learn basic knowledge about wallets and exchanges so that you do not get scammed this won't take more than an hour you can see any youtube video for help it'll be enough.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CEX deserves all criticism but not the hate on: January 28, 2023, 07:02:55 PM
This is true CEX are great if you want to quickly exchange any of your assets for less fees and swiftly especially when the volumes are high because DEX can take a long time as it doesn't have a lot of AMM. But obviously you cannot store your coins on it because it is risky as hell. It's like giving your coins to someone else for holding them for a while.
473  Local / India / Re: No issue with cryptocurrencies in India if laws are followed: IT Minister on: January 28, 2023, 05:34:18 PM
I think government is quite clear as to the fact that ban on Cryptos is not a solution moreover even if you put ban on Cryptos enforcement of the ban. Government will end up making things more complicated  if they decide to ban Cryptos. RBI on the other hand has always been in favour of banning Cryptos because their intent is to remove it from banking system enforcing which is pretty easy, so technically there is a issue between RBI and govt, as a retail investor you really shouldn't be worried about anything until any concrete announcement comes from any of them.
474  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: January 28, 2023, 05:27:07 PM
Which is the best?  Trading on bitcoin or investing in the stock market? The battle between short period earning and long-term earning. Share your thought about it.
Obviously, both have their own pros and cons. Trading on bitcoin is risky but as the risk is prevalent the reward is equally great. Stock market is slightly less risky if you see on daily weekly basis but obviously then the return is also a bit less on the investments. But seriously both are for absolutely different types of people, a person who doesn't want that much risk cannot really invest in crypto market.
475  Economy / Economics / Re: Success is fundamentally determined by luck, not effort. on: January 28, 2023, 05:20:56 PM

Recently I have had numerous reunions with Uncles from my extended family. Some of them are successful businessmen for decades. They built their business from nothing and are living quite a comfortable life now. We had long conversations about life in general, including their key to success. I knew very well that they have been hard workers ever since I had a memory so I would contribute their success to endless efforts. However, one thing they had mentioned in common was luck. They believe pure luck made them meet and grasp those opportunities and become successful rather than their smartness and efforts. I've thought about this before and couldn't agree with this more. They've set very good examples to me, including my father, and now I tend to focus more on work itself consistently and let luck or fate takes the rest.
This is so true i recently even read a research paper on this, luck plays a really major factor in determining many major careers, i read that how major ice hockey players are born in months of Jan to Match because that is the cut off for the age bracket and those guys are more aged at that time therefore get better training because are physically more grown so just your birth month would decide how better player you will be so obviously chance or fate does play a role in almost everything around us.
476  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world's current market on: January 27, 2023, 07:09:40 PM
We know the US dollar is the world-accepted banknote and can be used as a medium of trade.  In the crypto world, Bitcoin is the most popular and the highest-received currency with incredible value. Different nations have authorized bitcoin for transactions and multiple of them are sentiments. Its approval is slowly expanding day by day. Do you think bitcoin will be the commander of the world’s currency market like the US dollar in destiny?
I don't think this will ever happen, no country will be able to be this much sure to sell it's currency to a Cryptocurrency to do a transaction and similarly redeem the cryptos received for a transaction to another currency. This will give a huge foreign exchange exposure to all the countries and their currencies as well. Infact to protect themselves from this most of the countries have decided to forego USD as well so definitely they are not going to move to btc for this.
477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has someone tried to use ChatGPT to help in trading? on: January 27, 2023, 06:53:10 PM
I see a lot of people are using ChatGPT for various reasons and with that there are now so many videos how it can help it with writing trading scripts etc. Has someone tried it until now?
I tried to use it but I don't think it can help with it. It tried to give me more of a qualitative information than direct numbers or suggestions for trading. I think the problem with the bot is it gives predetermined results by sorting or arranging them differently. It's not yet prepared enough to do predictive analysis. Moreover such a generic bot will never be able to do predictive analysis on trading.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: January 27, 2023, 05:30:55 PM
New Zealand's batsmen have performed brilliantly. They managed to give a target of 176 runs in 20 overs, which is a very good target. Now against India, New Zealand bowlers have to perform well, only then victory is possible.
New Zealand are performing well in T20.  New Zealand batted first and set a target of 176 runs.  India have already completed 14 overs and have scored 99 runs and lost 5 wickets.  India beat New Zealand in 3 consecutive ODI matches. India need 78 more runs in 6 overs.  It's a tough challenge but it's not too tough for India if they want to do it I believe
New Zealand's last over by Arshdeep Singh change the game momentum into their favor, and they have done good job in bowling as well after having good target of 176 with this lost now Indian's need to fix their top order batting issue because SKY's brilliant batting was hiding this top order issue which today exposed by New Zealand's bowling Santner leads from the front specially his sixth over which was last for power play against SKY maiden which is also amazing stuff from Kiwi Captain.

At the end, Sunder done good job and cut the losing gape, but one thing is surely needing to be done before second T20i top order batting problem with today seven players in Indian inning unable to enter into double-digit figure.
I think this pretty much explains India's problem again, we became over dependent on SKY and this match he couldn't make it like a match win so obviously it didn't end we'll for India, but obviously New Zealand did gave a pretty good target I am eagerly waiting for Bumrah back so that we can really get the bowling strength back. It feels like Arshdeep being the lone soldier i want to see Arsh-Bumrah duo before Arsh gets some issues.
479  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: January 26, 2023, 06:51:46 PM
Please don't let my question cause so much hate on me but rather let's also be realistic at times.
Though I haven't invested a reasonable sum in Bitcoin, I've at some point after watching how the market and price of Bitcoin fell from over $60k to less than $12k something similar to what altcoins do and it prompted some questions like
1. Will Bitcoin ever fall to zero someday?
2. What happens if it ever falls to zero?

It will be if this questions are answered without sentiment as I'm open to learn.
1. It won't happen not only because there will always be some sort of demand for such a popular crypto currency but also because I have seen coins like LUNA crashing like shit and still they didn't go to zero had some value before bouncing back.
2. Let's imagine if it does you are surely going to hear about a lot of suicides on the very next day itself. Because mostly all other coins will die too and we'll see like end of an era.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 26, 2023, 06:42:15 PM
Actually it is not even 6 teams. Since the United States will qualify as being the hosts, there will be a total of 5 quality teams. Out of the 5 teams, 3 will win medals. I believe that the ICC has underestimated IOC. They are probably thinking that IOC will agree to whatever unreasonable demand that they make. In order for cricket to be just considered for Olympic participation, it took almost two decades of lobbying. All that hard work is wasted because Greg Barclay and the other businessmen doesn't want cricket to be in Olympics.

Actually, it is very easy to understand why that happened. If there is a qualification system, the bigger teams will face trouble. And even if there are 10 teams playing directly in the Olympics, there is a high chance that to make the groups interesting there will have to be bigger teams put against each other in the early stages.

So, they did not want to take that risk as well. They wanted to do everything by keeping the big teams as safe as they can. But obviously, they are facing a lot of backlash from fans. The problem is they are not going to change anything. It was just dumb.
Lol so only 5 teams are going to compete in Olympics,  this is height of stupidity form ICC what erre they thinking before giving this proposal.  And Jay Shah is so much involved in this matter too obviously directing ICC what to do and what no to do.
Let's see what  lOC comes up with?
I am obviously not that hopeful that this will be successful but even if you see Hockey there are just 4--5 teams in the top league rest really don't stand a chance for the race in medals. So less competition shouldn't be the criteria for a game not being part of Olympics. Moreover it's a game which can get some viewership and revenues and well for Olympics, but yes I have always felt Olympics as a place where less popular sports get the attention. I don't want cricket to steal their thunder.
