463  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which operating system(s) do you use? on: November 17, 2013, 08:53:39 AM
comparison on what. What program would you like to compare

What program? It doesn't matter. Ubuntu/Linux alone will run faster. It has less components than Windows. But, yes the only down fall to Linux is the limitations with programs. But, most of the time there are alternatives which do the job.

Limitations with hardware and drivers too.

It's awesome for dedicated stuff, but lacking as complete everyday system in my eyes.

limitations with drivers i agree with that

I have been using TPB since the day I started downloading. Had to switch to pirateproxy.net to avoid the national ban Sad

why with national national ban?!

Have more recently added a second (identical) fan at the other end, and put 25mm risers on the m-board to lift it slightly

this is the newer configuration with risers and second fan (also, PSU is lit up)

Adding a second fan in that configuration is actually reducing your total volume of airflow through the housing.  You would need to make a larger housing and position the fans next to each-other at one end of the housing if you want a larger volume of air to pass over the card.  You are probably seeing an increase in air velocity due to the restriction that you have employed,  but you could achieve that same effect by using one fan and reducing diameter of the housing at the exhaust end.
[/quote]

Remove the housing, cuz the hot air is lighter than cold air. And hot air goes up

If I recall correctly. you did a good job with GLD forum before the 'troubles' ! (we need to make sure that CGB Talk gets off to a sound start)
Correct. I'll talk with merc and elambert. We don't need everything on their backs.

471  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BITCON MINER VIRUS on: November 16, 2013, 11:01:12 PM
No one creates those CPU botnets for SHA256 coins anymore. They either do it with GPU or make an scrypt coin botnet.
They can mine CPU coins for huge profits though.

Like PTS and primecoin? Looks like people need to stop investing on CPU coins cause of this...
PTS is a bit botnet resistant due to high memory requirements.

i agree i tryed and it stucks all the time

474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why devcoin is so low despite it's market cap? on: November 16, 2013, 10:56:27 PM
About $450 000 market cap. Why worth almost about nothing?
- There are 216,000,000 new Devcoins every months and the amount will stay the same (there is no block halving).
-> Devs are sitting on are large amounts and are just waiting to be able to dump them.
- Only a small community.
- I maybe wrong about this, but I don't see any actual developing going on. What is the latest version?

Such a stupid coin, no block halving, How should you expect increase in price
But does it cost you much to buy 10k of them , just in case? Even if you think it has no future?

it costs a very much, if they are not profitable. Why should i abbandoned my BTC
475  Other / Off-topic / Re: Using Pirate Bay, BitTorrent, etc? on: November 16, 2013, 10:55:33 PM
You can use a VPN but those can be slow.  Otherwise you're unlikely to get called out on it; I think our ISPs understand that their business is more important than Hollywood's.

Anyone noticed decline in p2p piracy?

mininova dead, isohunt closed, less people seeding stuff every day, despite improved internet connections over the globe. And the worst part - less and less people are archiving old good stuff. If you need some older movie/game/etc, like from 1990, then your chances are thinning every day.

The market adapted; it's more of a hassle to torrent now than it is to use Netflix (at least for Joe Average.)  If they do something like this for gaming, piracy will really plummet.

man that sucks
