461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anybody notice the 100btc transaction fee on 27th April? on: May 01, 2015, 11:51:31 AM
Its really great of bitman to work out with the guy...

In the Bitcoin community - it is easy to find lots of scamming assholes.  BitMain is not one of them.  BitMain has always been 100% awesome.  Especially in mining.  Nearly every mining manufacturer turned out to be a royal scam - only BitMain consistently delivers precisely what/when they say they will.

BitMain rocks!

@OP, the blockchain tool to accept a raw transaction over HTTP is here: https://blockchain.info/pushtx

Hmm, that's seems cool.

However, I can't get this one to publish.  Any idea what's up?

I have a most perfectly formed transaction ready to go.
Maybe not! Wink
463  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / How to convey transaction to network on: April 30, 2015, 05:05:13 PM
I have a most perfectly formed transaction ready to go.  What is the easiest way to transmit it into the bitcoin network for processing?

I don't want to set up and run bitcoind on a local machine.  Too much agro.  Is there a trusted node with a permanent IP which I can send (via some protocol) the bytes to?  What is the minimum handshaking that must be done to establish a connection to this node with a know IP.  Is there an easier way?  Does blockchain.info support that?
464  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain used as a database storage system for records to replace MYSQL? on: April 18, 2015, 03:18:33 PM
I was wondering has there been anything built that utilizes the blockchain as a database storage system either in Bitcoin or another Alt? Say I run the CMS Wordpress and I have a bunch of users. I want these user records which contain their name/phone/email/address sit on the blockchain and retrievable via the blockchain. It could be encrypted or not. These records can be retrieved within the CMS without the need to store it anywhere on the web server thereby replacing MYSQL. Well not replacing mysql completely, but only store selective data that is important.

Does anyone have something like this yet?

I know it can kind of be done on the Bitcoin Blockchain using OP_RETURN. But that only fits 40bytes at the moment. It's going to goto 80bytes eventually as it seems. Or is there another Alt more suited for this use case? One issue is redundancy, Bitcoin would have the most redundancy as its the most distributed with over 6000 nodes. Other alts could very well die and you'll lose all your data if they dont get more nodes up.
This is the same as using your Porsche 911 to haul patio bricks from Home Depot.  It CAN be done, but it is the dumbest possible application.  The blockchain is remarkable.  The blockchain does hold data.  However, it is a very poor replacement for databases.  What's wrong with MYSQL?  What advantages do you see in putting all this crap into the blockchain?  The only thing which needs to go into the blockchain is stuff which is very critical regarding change to the record.  Your data certainly doesn't have that issue.
465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I buy stock with colored coins? on: April 18, 2015, 02:43:00 PM
I've read lots of talk and concepts, but haven't seen any actual implementations. Doesn't mean there aren't, just means I haven't seen them.
Omni has done this.  They started with the US Dollar being the first asset locked to the protocol.  It is being used by Tether to achieve this.  They also have Euro and Yen.  More coming soon.  Probably stocks indexed this way are not very far off at all.

Discuss how much you have lost and how.
I lost $1.3 million when MAIDSAFE changed the rules during the opening hours of their crowdfunding.

469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paid a hooker in vegas using Bitcoin Saturday night on: April 01, 2015, 05:02:25 PM
Fabulous...
Though I have never had the need to acquire the services of an escort,
how do you think they would respond if you called them hookers?

Same way your nasty-assed anal whore mom responded when I called her one.  She didn't do anything.  She's been called it a thousand times and still loves it.  Calling a hooker a hooker is like calling a spade a spade.
470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paid a hooker in vegas using Bitcoin Saturday night on: April 01, 2015, 01:41:54 PM
you watch on your stinky porn movies.
you mean anal?  Your dead momma is an anal entertainer?
471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paid a hooker in vegas using Bitcoin Saturday night on: April 01, 2015, 10:49:09 AM
That being said: I am sure you have no respect for women because they do not respect you....
How did you find out about that?

Your dead momma and your sister are entertainers.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paid a hooker in vegas using Bitcoin Saturday night on: April 01, 2015, 10:14:39 AM
Can you please refer to women as "entertainers" at least?
Your momma and your sister are entertainers.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's time for Plan B. #Bitcoin on: April 01, 2015, 08:46:40 AM
saying plan b sounds like bitcoin failed and now they are trying another thing.
which isn't the case. we're not even close to completing the first stage.
dollar is plan A.  It failed.  Now is plan B.  B=Bitcoin.

how fukcing dumb are you people?
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's time for Plan B. #Bitcoin on: April 01, 2015, 08:04:58 AM
Not so sure about this, do not quite understand, I mean what kind of plan B here
Should be explained as well as what it means, so that people can somewhat understand the intent and purpose of the plan B

Kim Dotcom is trying to say the US dollar sucks and it is time to replace it with Bitcoin.  Bitcoin is 'Plan B".  I can't believe this has to be explained.  wtf?
475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paid a hooker in vegas using Bitcoin Saturday night on: April 01, 2015, 07:59:41 AM
how are you not ashamed to admit this
Why shame?  Did you mama tell you sex was shameful?  He told it with pride.  Why not.  He had a great time and an enjoyable experience.  I say: sing it on the mountain!!  Shame is for pussies and arabs named 'saddam'.
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Awesome way to spread the word... on: April 01, 2015, 07:54:36 AM
I saw this on another thread...

That is a great way to spread the word about Bitcoin.  Not only do more people learn that Bitcoin is an alternative to dollar, euro, yen, - but the message gets passed around, and around, and around while the old school currencies are diminished.

Let's use old school currency (fiat) as our message carrier.  Where can I buy a stamper to stamp all my notes?  If everyone  also buys a stamper and stamp notes in their country - EVERYONE will know about Bitcoin in a hurry.

Somebody please organize sales of stampers and tell us where to buy them!!!  You could make a shit ton of Bitcoin if you started selling these next week.  I'd buy one today!!!

A very curious thing about this, it is NOT illegal.  The law defines 'illegal' defacement as defacement that renders bills unfit to be re-issued.

Advertising a product is illegal.  Marking a bill with ink which is not a commercial advertisement isn't.  http://www.moneyfactory.gov/historicallegislation.html   There is one guy who knows all about this in great detail.  He's had many personal talks with the Secret Service regarding this point.  His name is Hank.  This is his company which dealt with this on a very serious level: http://www.wheresgeorge.com/.  Contact him if you want to know why it is legal to do this.
477  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase, is it safe to use? on: February 07, 2015, 05:49:55 PM
I'm planning on moving all my bitcoin (which is not really that much) to my coinbase which seems easier to use than having to access my PC all the time I want to send or receive bitcoins.
I can access it via my Android Phone with the app or through the web.
With a good password and a 2step verification set, is it relatively safe? I'm more worried about Coinbase being slow with transactions or failing at some transactions than actually someone extern stealing the bitcoins.
lol.  You just don't get it do you?  If you don't have the private key, you don't have any bitcoin.  You must have the private key, and not only that, you must be the only one who has it.  If you put 'your bitcoin' at coinbase, THEY have bitcoin and you have a promise from them to give it back one day.  Is that safe?  Not as safe as having exclusive control over a private key.  But coinbase is cool.  So it is relatively safe.  But always keep in mind, you don't have any bitcoin.  You just have a promise from some nice guys who intent to give you some bitcoin one day in the future.  Big difference.

Who are the marketing people?  Didn't they do a study on the new logo?

Nothing says more: "Square peg in round hole = doesn't work" than this logo...

But at least we got our own nightclub in Vegas - so I guess it is OK.

480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can ordinary men do to make Bitcoin grow? on: January 26, 2015, 12:11:26 AM
What can community members do to contribute to Bitcoin's growth?  Huh

Hands down - this is the best way:

Print 100 $10 bitcoin paper wallets.  (this will actually cost you far less than $1000 in the end).

Make the paper wallet on a half sheet with the other half sheet dedicated to introduce bitcoin and wallets.  Further, include instructions how to set up a real wallet and to sweep the $10 into that wallet.

Pass these out to people who don't know about bitcoin.  Most will not bother with learning about bitcoin.  For those, you'll be able to recover your $10 of bitcoin because you still have the private key for those wallets.  However, if people do discover bitcoin to the extent they are able to sweep your $10 into their private wallet, you never see that money again.  However, that person is now a bona-fide bitcoin user.  $10 per new user - a great investment.

The community would be huge very fast if every bitcoin user today printed and passed out even 10 of these wallets.  ($100)

Can somebody please help design this 'Bitcoin introductory wallet' in agreement with the concept described above?  If we set up a nice standard, all us bitcoin pros can figure out how to fund some and send them to our friends.

Whadda you say: good idea?
