Ken, just wondering if you can help on this one - are VMC going to be giving 'updates' about when they get the first test chips or will the first news we hear be when mining rigs start getting shipped?

Just wondering if there will be a 'we are shipping' release out of the blue one day or we will hear 'updates' leading up to that release?

Also is VMC offering a shareholder price on rigs or do we need to pay retail price?

We will be releasing some updates this next month.

We would love to give our shareholder special prices on rigs and may in the future; however, in this very competitive environment margins are very tight.

The SEC is our friend here, they JUST passed crowdfunding laws and still I doubt we are on their radar.

We need to stop acting like this is a big deal and just carry on with business
We're probably not yet on their radar, but I don't see the SEC as being our friends here. Unless they come up with some new, more relaxed regulations then they are going to suffocate the Bitcoin securities market because of a high cost of compliance.

Yes, we are on there radar, as they have talked to Ukto about us last month.  I sent Ukto our Belize documents so he could send them to the SEC.

Edit:  Ukto never sent the documents to the SEC.

All of our Klondikes have been received and we are in the process of getting them up and hashing.

We expect that each Klondike will hash at ~5 GH/s for a total of ~340 GH/s increasing our total hashing power to ~770 GH/s.

Of course, this is not what we expected by this time to be hashing after we ordered 20,000 Avalon chips @ 5.64 TH/s which did not arrive at the stated time and had to be refunded.

Cool, when are they expected to be fully operational?

We are hoping tomorrow, if everything works as expected.

Ken,

My verification as a non-US resident as gone through on WeExchange, so I'm fully clear to trade on BitFunder. I just wanted to clarify that it's fine to leave my shares on BitFunder. I think SumZero was asking for clarification on this as well.

Cheers!

I would like some clarification on this as well please. Non-US resident, account verification processing now.

1. Do we have the option of keeping shares on BF at all?
2. If so, and we choose to stay on BF, will dividends still be paid to our public address or through BF?

Non-US residents that have been verified will be able to trade our shares on Bitfunder.  I have not heard any different from Ukto the operator of Bitfunder.

Dividends will be paid on Bitfunder, just like they have been paid before thru the end of the year.

Can anyone inform me if Ken has officially announced what to do with our shares on bitfunder?

I know he has an exchange in the works but with the looming Nov 1 deadline I need to get my bitfunder shares out ASAP!

Posts from Ken: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1707;sa=showPosts

Thanks, tendered to AMC-TENDER - feels very worrisome but I trust ken.

Are there any other precautions I should take.  I have set up my bitfunder with a bitcoin address that I control and can sign from.

EDIT:  And just to be absolutely sure, is this the address that is important?

yes that's the one. that address shows on this public list: https://bitfunder.com/assetlist, prior to tendering your shares

EDIT:
I also PM'd Ken the transfer timestamp, my public bitcoin address and number of shares…

Yes, everyone should have a public bitcoin address that they can sign.

Also keep a full screenshot showing your bitfunder username, and the transfer transaction of the transfer to AMC-TENDER.

This is your proof of the number of shares transferred.

We may need you to send a message from that public bitcoin address with the details of your transfer at a future time.

Please don't PM your transfer information.

I see reports of miners shipping. Does that mean the USB bootloader code is finished, or did you have the units shipped as-is?

Pretty sure they are only shipping out as-is units without the USB bootloader code.

With any luck, we'll get some good news on that front real damn soon now.

Received my order of Klondikes today.  Great packaging no damage.  The units look great and had all the cables to connect the units.

Great job Steamboat!

Edit:  These are as-is units as I can get the hardware to program them.

if you have an android phone/device it's the google authenticator.  once you get that app installed it's pretty self explanatory.

If you don't have s smartphone:

Here is a link that has in Step 2 how to setup 2-factor without a smartphone.

It would be best to use this on a off-line computer for security, but that is not required.

Klondikes have been shipped, should be hashing in about 5 days.

If Ken succeeds at a) delivering a reasonable product to market which sells well, b) develops an exchange with some depth that allows for trading c) puts aside a few machines for ActM to mine d) continues to pay out dividends and increases the dividends accordingly, I will hunt Ken down and buy him the best steak which can be bought in a Missouri steak house and will thank him personally. And that is not a threat, that is a promise. Also, I will buy a steak for myself and will join him in dinner.

Good idea. I'll join you guys. Let's make sure this all works out.

Yes, lets do that.

Edit:  I am doing everything in my power to make this work out.

Ken, I've submitted documentation to get verified on BF, but I know Ukyo has a substantial queue to get through. Should I still transfer my shares if, come November 6th, I'm still waiting to get verified?

Yes, that would be the safe way, to make sure you receive your dividends.

Ken,

Can you verify what U.S. Bitfunder users need to do to be sure that their shares preserved?  Do we need to be sure our public bitcoin address is one where we can sign?  For example, a non-CoinBase address?

Yes, you need to have a public Bitcoin address that you can sign, so that we can verify the number of shares you own from the Bitfunder Asset List.

I want to know if Ken is working on the October P&L and balance sheets.  Fingers crossed we'll have some real numbers to crunch then.

Yes, we are working on those.
478  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: October 19, 2013, 11:44:35 PM
I think Ken's alleged PM is implying that he is under a lot of stress, but that he is going to persevere and make the company successful. I don't see it as a lack of confidence at all. Ken is just poor at communicating with shareholders I think. A new PR person for both shareholder and public relations is badly needed. Imagine the sales if someone was on payroll contacting the various bitcoin blogs getting our name out there...

The odds of Ken, or anyone, getting time for this are slim to none.  But implying the risks he took he took for internet strangers is delusional.
For once I agree with you.

Me too! Amazing.
479  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: October 19, 2013, 11:43:31 PM
Agreed, but as the leader of the company it is important to always project confidence no matter how stressful or frustrating. When he sounds like he doesn't believe in what we are doing, it makes us feel as if we should not believe either.

+1

If we can start hashing in the next three weeks, all this will be a moot point. But, at this point, it's feeling more and more like a crap-shoot.

I believe 100% in what we are doing!  If you look at the quote I used, that will tell you the whole story of were I am coming from.  I am sorry that I did not project the confidence that some of our Investors needed.  I am very confident that ActiveMining will come through the hard times ahead with the difficulty rising at over 117%/month.  So as I said "When the going gets tough, the tough get going".  I am in this for the long haul, working hard everyday to make ActiveMining and its Investors successful.

As I have said before in this thread, we will have a solution for Investors who what to keep their shares.
