461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Succeeded in introducing Bitcoin to a friend on: December 23, 2023, 06:25:56 PM
I think OP just got carried away on his conversation with the friend. Maybe with a bit if a show off haha why would you show someone how much bitcoin you have, considering that is a friend you havent seen in a while.

To be honest, i wont talk about money to someone i havent met for a long time. Not everyone's comfy talking about money, and it could create weird vibes or even stir up unexpected expectations. Plus, you never know who's listening, right? Keep it lowkey and chat about crypto without turning it into a wallet show and tell. It's safer and you won't accidentally make things awkward.

I would definitelly hav eto agree with you Natsuu, it would be wise to not divuldge this information as you never know who could be listening (especially through your electronic devices), this information should be kept secret and safe. This was more of a bragging show off to an old friend to show him his success and get a nod. This type of thing was a flaunt. Education is the most important piece. Explain its importance and show them the way, and if they ask about your holdings I always say that that its rude to ask such a question because its none of their business.
462  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Think i have lost all my bitcoin :( on: December 23, 2023, 06:15:33 PM
Oh man, that is very alarming, have you tried to get another HW and try to upload your seed onto that one? Maybe that could work? These wallets are not secure anymore and can't be trusted. I wouldn't be suprised if it had something to do with what someone at ledger did w/ the code/seeds and now they are draining wallets one by one and sparatically until a large group of people notices that all their money is all gone. I hope that isn't the case. I am terribly sorry for your losses here OP that is never a good feeling. At least you have the wealth of still being alive and breathing!@!!
463  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Data Harvesting Inside Ledger Live App - Is this really part of Non-custodial? on: December 23, 2023, 06:04:58 PM
Ledger is not an honest company.
Lied about the security of your data.
Lied about the security of your coins.
Lied about how many people had their data stolen.
Lied about seeds never leaving the device.
Lied about being open source.

Did I miss any?

Lied about being the most secure hardware wallet in the world! I remember when everyone was dead set on Ledger being the absolute best and most secure and then all of this crap came out. I cound't believe it. I got off Ledger. The fact that they are tracking all of this information and broadbasting it to another seperate company and probably selling that data is infuriating! You can't trust anyone or anything these days.
464  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: AI x Crypto on: December 23, 2023, 05:50:59 PM
A buddy of mine has been using an arbitrage algorithm w/ the help of AI and his coding experience that does all of the trading automatically and very quickly to generate small profits here and there. It works pretty good! I have seen it in action and its impressive. He did something similar to this where he did an instagram algo
465  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The mystery behind the point x=1, y=2 on elliptic curves on: December 23, 2023, 05:44:39 PM
You know I had a funny thought last night when I was adding up some of my transactions and it led me to believe that algebra just prepared all of us for adding a ton of really long numbers with tons of decimal places and just prepared us for adding and subtracting sats in our head and on the calc lmao. Too funny. This post just made me think of it again. Kind of makes me think of a the relationship with x and y and how it relates to BTC  Cool
466  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the us dollar might crash significantly on: December 23, 2023, 05:33:21 PM
It will lead to collapse, but all countries will develop a contingency plan so that if their assets are banned, they will have enough cash to control their people. Unfortunately, it will return the world to economic and financial blocs that prevent international trade and lead to a rise in the prices of goods, services and products. It is also not difficult for the United States to Printing $300 billion, given that its debts exceed $30 trillion.

Agreed, following through with this plan could potentially spark a domino effect with the trust of nations and the USD continuing as the WRC. Why not just print that money or hey here is a great idea why doesn't the US Government just get out of this war and funding it in the first place!!!! Its completely barbaric and stupid, President Biden will go down as the worst US President perhaps lol
467  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Hal Finney "Running Bitcoin" Art by Cryptograffiti (87/100) on: December 23, 2023, 05:22:38 PM
What an awesome piece! The mosaic using the credit cards is such a nice touch, how he ripped the cards to look like that and piece them all in must have taken an eternity! And to think he made 100 of these. Crypto Graffiti is an incredible artist, good luck with your auction!
468  Other / Meta / Re: How did you know about Bitcoin and Bitcointalk? on: December 21, 2023, 09:12:05 PM
I learned about bitcoin a few times before it got big and of course I wish that my judgement had not been clouded or that I wasn't completely focused in my studies the second time that I heard about it because maybe by some chance I would have still had the keys to its existence. The first time someone physically got between me and purchasing BTC, the second time I was in my college library studying when a facebook notification popped up with one of my classmates linking an article that I dismissed at the time. I later learned of the forum from a buddy I met on IG that had a similar interest in collectibles.
469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: This is beyond craziness on: December 21, 2023, 08:57:02 PM
Holy shit man, that is wild, was this happening to everyone on the network that day? I had a friend of mine pay a .01 BTC transaction fee this past weekend, insane. Is / was there any way around that? I really hope these fees get fixed soon because I think they are definitely a huge debbie downer for bitcoin and will get all the negative nancy's and even worse, the karens going!!!
470  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-11-22] Robert Kiyosaki Says Prepare for Hyperinflation on: December 21, 2023, 08:50:57 PM
Honestly I think he is right if the US is not careful, I guess it'll all depend how the next election plays out and how the world economy is doing. It will probably also be largely affected by how all other countries percieve the USD at the time inflation occurs, most likely it will be accompanied by a devastating blow to the US economy or presidential adminiistration makes a collasel mistake etc. etc. I hope it doesn't happen anytime soon but it is very important to start preparing today!
471  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The SEC Struggles to Recruit Crypto Experts, Report Says on: December 21, 2023, 08:46:31 PM
Is it good news though? I mean I feel like in order to move forward with beneficial regulation it would be really great to have a very wise crypto figure to take that spot to help guide the SEC to the most beneficial regulations that promotes liberty and prosperity! Its the dumbest thing ever. Owning something is a human right, you can't tell someone that they can't own Bitcoin when everything that they do profesisonally relates to it! That would drive a man insane.
472  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Angry at the high fees? That's what everyone predicted the future will be like! on: December 21, 2023, 08:21:33 PM
Honestly I think its a double edged sword because yes it is making fees much higher and it is super annoying but on the other side of the coin it is also keeping people from spending/selling their coins because they don't want to lose that much in fees and keeping HODLERs at bay until a day where Ordinals are either overpassed from the blockchain completely or waiting until they found a way to make the transaction fees lower.
473  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] [PSA] Sending unloaded / loaded collectibles to and from Europe on: December 21, 2023, 04:04:06 AM
Wow I didn't know that, where exactly can I find this new regulation? That is taking it to the next level for real and honestly none of their business. What if you were traveling or sending a letter with the seed phrase to a wallet what is the difference? Is that also illegal?  Will they also flag the items if they have anything crypto related in the description? Its probably best to be as vauge as possible, if they don't know how to check the funds and verify them due to being ill infomed what is stopping them from peeling any holograms off or damaging the notes/coins etc etc. Fly as low and as casual as possible without completely deviating from the truth to comply w/ regulation.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BOOK: 'The Bitcoin History Book 2008-2024' Progress Report (UPDATE 04/12/2023) on: December 17, 2023, 11:54:52 PM
Wow!!! I am completely impressed by all of your hard work and I can't wait to see the final product! I am glad to see that this next halving is going to be included and sort of even be like the finalie to your book!!
475  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Issues Important Warning as It Plans to Perform Wallet Maintenance on: December 17, 2023, 11:53:12 PM
Binance or any exchange for that matter is always coming with some sort of risk event possibility simply because you are online and u less you have taken all of the right protocols to ensure your network and devices are secure then you could possibly be at risk. Always use caution when on the exchanges!!
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jpg monkeys are making the fees impossible? Just use a meme coin! on: December 17, 2023, 11:51:11 PM
I think the entire BTC ecosystem feels that brother, yes the fees are completely insane and I am fed up with them. Used to think ordinals were cool until I realized that it completely screws you when you send btc
477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon said he would close Bitcoin down if he was in government on: December 17, 2023, 11:48:04 PM
A little ridiculous considering how much money they have made already from scooping a bunch of coins in this last bear market. Of course he would say something like this though I mean BTC is a direct threat to his business but good luck shutting bitcoin down lmao
478  Economy / Economics / Re: #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: December 17, 2023, 02:57:14 AM
snip

It has been a bumpy journey. I greatly admire those who possess the discipline to hold onto their cryptocurrency even when the price is at its peak. Personally, I find it challenging to resist the urge to convert all my coins to stablecoins as soon as I see a small profit. However, this year, I aim to have the patience to hold onto some promising project coins, such as BTC, ETH, and SOL, and resist the temptation to convert them at a small profit. My goal is to wait until a coin reaches a new all-time high before selling it.

This is a good goal to wait it out and make sure it hits a new ATH but have you really already decided to sell all of your coin in this next peak? I feel like for anyone that can make it another decade without taking profit will reap 10 fold, one can only hope!!
479  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO} Be aware of https://privnote.co/ on: December 17, 2023, 02:51:42 AM
This was brought up in the past but wanted to make a new thread for people that are not aware of this scam site.
I think you should post about this in Scam Accusation board to get more attention, not everyone is often visiting Collectibles board.

I don't remember noticing anything about privnote in bitcointalk forum, but I have seen similar tools.
Note that logo and domain is obviously different from real privnote project.

scam:

Code:
https://privnote.co/

legit:

Code:
https://privnote.com/

Used to use this way back when it's a shame that all of these scams are happening but what else is new under the sun! It's a sneaky little truck they pull this fast one on with you here, don't use this to send your BTC Addy for payment or you'll never see the funds!!
480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase on the defensive about these bitcoin ordinal centralized meme coins on: December 17, 2023, 02:36:39 AM
This is really such a wild thing happening with bitcoin right now. Could ordinals become an even bigger hindrance and could the transactions keep becoming more and more expensive to process if this prolongs on the blockchain?
