Only selling 1 million tokens out of 22 million and the ICO price scheme is based on the assumption you will achieve a 100 million USD market capitalization within the first year???

Now I understood - CryptoInsiders is Melonport's whore

Cryptoinsiders is mentally ill. When you repeatedly say or do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result, that is the definition of insanity. It is sad, really. Also, apparently he is so new to the cryptocurrency scene that he thinks the SEC is a legitimate threat to a foreign-based cryptocurrency entity... and he is dumb enough to think your average cryptocurrency investor in the US gives a damn what the SEC thinks. Why the hell do you think US investors moved to cryptocurrnecies in the first place? Hint: it is definitely not because of how regulated they are.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: February 21, 2017, 11:39:20 PM

You forgot to mention TaaS also I think they have ICONOMI competitors.
They will also launch their ICO next month but by then ICONOMI will have its platform ready.

TaaS is a closed-end fund so it is not really the same as ICN etc.

I gotta say, equibit's ICO setup is even more frightening than Melonport's... Only selling 1 mil tokens out of 22 million and the price scheme is based on the assumption they will achieve a 100 million USD market capitalization within the first year... Both Melonport and Equibit look great from an end-user perspective but man do their initial distribution structures suck for ICO investors.

ICN had such a successful ICO in part because they didn't pull any of that bullshit, investors don't have to worry about constant inflation like they will with those projects.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Qtum]UTXO based POS Smart Contract Platform | Crowdsale March 2017 on: February 21, 2017, 05:53:06 AM
I got some concerns about this Qtum ICO.

First, why are only 51% of the coins being sold to the community?

Why are they using only chinese exchanges and official website? Note that i got told by a dev on slack that Chinese exchanges are going to be the fastest way of buying Qtum, which is bad for every non-chinese investor. Not to mention that all I hear about chinese exchanges is that they are kinda shady and not trustworthy.

What will be the price/Qtum? Not so worried about it but ICO is in 9 days, could get some info on that.

The fact that it is like the first one to not share its code before the ICO, if not then I am sorry, just not aware of any other like this. And the fact that the Mainnet will only be live at least a couple months after the ICO "successful" ending.

Exchanges will keep the coins for all that time, could lead to some manipulation, steal, and whatnot.

I really like the idea, the future plans and the fact that they got a lot of media attention but this last one can also be a very bad thing.

I didn't take the 49% tokens in the hands of the developers serious until I realize that this is a Proof of Stake project. The team want to eat their cake and have it with this structure and design of the ICO.

I have comment on the exchange listing, their is no need to use exchanges when the sale is going to be available on your site, I know what these exchanges did during Firstblood ICO, they bought most of the tokens and sold it at 2X to buyers on the second day. I won't blame the exchange because they are set up to make money and if I'm in their shoes I will do thesame.

Qtum team can continue to ignore these issues and be adding Roger Ver and co to the team, but what I know is that people are watching every move

Yeah and they haven't said what the PoS inflation rate is in either of the whitepapers or elsewhere (or at least I couldn't find any info) which is something I think should be known before investing.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Qtum]UTXO based POS Smart Contract Platform | Crowdsale March 2017 on: February 18, 2017, 11:56:15 PM
it seems in china, people know dev team will only hold less than 13% of the total token.
7% coin for 1400BTC already sold out to all the angel investor.

so it's 20% = 7% (private investor for 1400BTC, Roger Ver or Anthony will not sell their token for small profit. Roll Eyes, why you worry) +13% (hold by dev team and distribute to team member in next 4 years )

another 20%= 10% for coinswap(with some good project) +10% support 10 industry(each industry support 1%) (will be hold by PWC, transfer to community later)

9%= academic research and education, cooperate with Best university and also promotions of Qtum adoption.(will be hold by PWC,transfer to community later)

51%= crowdsale, will be hold by community.

Read the  https://qtum.org/whitepaper/ blockchain economy whitepaper guys..

also join the Chinese wechat group, so you can get more informations.
since all Chinese people know the details..

When they say transfer to the community they mean sell to the community, right? If those tokens are needed to fund the coin-swap, development, research, etc then they are going to have to sell those shares to generate the funds they need to finance those things.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Digital Assets Management Platform on: February 18, 2017, 12:18:16 AM
So, in Paris EDCON, what's is there for ICONOMI? What are the main goals?
Another question is why are we creating pressure for an early and possibly buggy launch of management platform?... Just take a deep breath and calm down... Work is being done...

So where you suggest pick coins for ICONOMI funds Cheesy ? On bittalk or on real conferences with talks face to face.
I prefer when they travel to meet people whom they want put money in hand, than like me scan btt Smiley and Invest.

That's a good point I hadn't really considered. I often question the value in (and intentions of) devs traveling the world to go to conferences, but in this case since Iconomi is operating as both a potential investor and client/service provider to other projects and people in the cryptocurrency community there are obvious reasons for networking at such events.

Still I don't think it is too much to ask to know what the exact goals/objectives are for the conference, if this isn't already available somewhere, which I think is all psimoes was getting at.
467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TRST] [TOKEN SALE] WeTrust.io SAVINGS & INSURANCE PLATFORM on: February 18, 2017, 12:07:52 AM
10% of supply reserved for the team plus another 8% for future team members, expenses, and marketing seems like a lot considering you hope to raise up to 12,000 BTC...
What type of oversight/accountability will there be for the 18% of the supply in your control? Is there a time limit or a set of objectives that must be completed before that 18% can be sold on the markets?

Sorry if this is answered somewhere obvious already, I couldn't find it.

@stormia: Sorry for the delay, we'll get this published soon, I know the community is waiting for this information.  thanks for your patience.

Thanks!
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 17, 2017, 11:43:06 PM
seriously. if you can convince me if anyone on their team is as smart as Vitalik or people on Augur, people would be throwing much more money at LISK.

It's just a joke project that tried to piggyback on the popularity of javascript in web development.

nobody has given any reply about accomplishments of LISK team members before this project. What did Max do before LISK?

Being involved in a failed crypti project that went nowhere. What about their CTO? I see the git commits and they're just fixing typos here and there, no fundamental progress being made.

Hahaha!  So feel free to sell all your Lisk. Please, I invite you to sell all and leave this place. No worries, the crypto scene is already so saturated with dozens of altcoins projects so I'm sure you will find another home.

Oh?!?! Let me guess : you don't have any Lisk -yet- ? That's right?
 Grin

Damn sad to see you spending your precious time criticizing and writing negative/pesssimist comments.
Boring life

it's your money. i've done my DD. no LISK for me because it'll be worthless in few years. you're just pumping the coin so you can sell at a premium to noobs.

OK so I understand you don't even have any Lisk

Huh So let me ask you and I'm serious : why are you posting negative assumptions and pessimistic personal opinions on a altcoin project you don't even believe in??

I mean, there are so many other projects (imho Lisk is the best one. That's why I'm here) but you spend your time posting here ?!?!  I'm replying to you but this question  is for every negative posters here on bitcointalk : why losing your precious time doing negative/pessimistic rants ??  So boring life you must live, that not an attack, it's my opinion that you should enjoy more your time around here..

Bitcointalk is now a cesspool of negativity, attacks and insults against projects and people actually working on startups .. it's a downward spiral

There are tons of vultures on BCT, it has always been a cesspool (but I'm not so sure it's all that worse than with other financial instruments). Every good coin and even shitty ones are subjected to hype/fud cycles from groups looking to turn a quick profit at the expense of easily impressionable people. It's a super prevalent and simple form of market manipulation found all over this site and it sucks because it is often informed/connected assholes taking advantage of naive newcomers, which is bad for more than just the newcomers it also harms the cryptocurrency economy as a whole by centralizing wealth (to morally dubious individuals, nonetheless) and inhibiting adoption and utilization.

It also sucks how as a side effect it is near impossible to voice any reasonable criticism without instantly being considered one of the above and having all of your points simply dismissed on the grounds of trolling or FUDing and never receiving any sort of legitimate response or recognition.

Everything is so diametrically opposed here. Us-vs-them, you are either defending or you are attacking a coin, you are either a blind supporter or you are fudster troll. This is contributed to, additionally, by people who behave like the crypto space is zero-sum... As if because one supports a coin they have to oppose all those deemed "competition". Competition is very real, but there is room for many niche markets.
469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Qtum]UTXO based POS Smart Contract Platform | Crowdsale March 2017 on: February 17, 2017, 10:44:37 PM
Interesting project with interesting team behind it. Whitepapers, website, and everything looks very professional. Keeping my eye on this one. I guess my only concern, like many others, is that only 51% of funds are sold to ICO investors and the rest is being kept by the team et al. 49% token share + all the money you are going to raise through the ICO seems ridiculous (and unprecedented).

And it appears the distribution numbers don't take into account inflation from PoS either? Or am I missing something? It says 51% will be distributed to community (through ICO), 20% team/angels, 20% business development, and 9% for research etc. But then there will also be coins produced through PoS that aren't included in this breakdown, right? So there will be more inflation/share dilution that an ICO investor needs to be aware of. What is the breakdown of the inflation due to PoS?

Also, as a potential investor I wish only BTC was being used to fund development and research instead of the using a share of the tokens. You plan to sell 29% shares of the token to generate funds over 3-4 years, which is going to drive the price down during that time. And when you say "Ultimately, 100% tokens will be allocated to the community so that Qtum can become a truly open source community." Isn't that just the same as saying you are also going to sell your 20% team/angel shares?

You may now remove your signature and avatar

Ahmed has finished the spreadsheet. This is the "final" version. There are 376 total "approved" participants. The reason this is in quotes is because there may still be a couple disqualifications for using alt accounts to double and triple dip.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YDkF47yCP1tlYITTO-np3CQKKQGcTIyTwvyky17F9VI/edit#gid=0

Those disqualified either didn't hit the required number of constructive posts, didn't use the signature at all, removed it weeks ago, were reported to us by moderators for spamming posts that were not constructive, or were identified as alt accounts.

The blog bounty sheet should be coming tomorrow, or Sunday latest. Thank you for your patience.

Awesome, thank you! I like how on top of things this team appears to be, let's hope it translates well for ICO investors.

Why do you think so? If bitcoin price goes up,other cryptos are bound to fail.A lot of people may opt to sell their ICN holding if bitcoin price goes up
Nope, if their price will be going stable and the people will always keep his coin. But SEC will impact a lot for the crypto and I can say it will make a lot of money for the crypto users.

I have serous doubts the ETF wI'll be approved at this time, sure hope it is though.

As long as the percent decrease in BTC:ICN is less than the percent increase in USD:BTC then USD:ICN increases despite the decrease in BTC:ICN. We already saw this when BTC rallied to 1000 and BTC:ICN stayed pretty much the same leading to an increase in fiat valuation of ICN.
476  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 16, 2017, 07:18:21 PM
I wonder.
Every night people come here and spread Fud. However, these people have not invested or have nothing to do with lisk.
This is a waste of time. IMHO

1. fud is part of their plan to increase sell rate and support their price suppression  (watch the markets, you can clearly see it)
2. they are just shitstains, thinking trolling/fuding is the new trend (if US-of-A prez do it, why not?)
3. they are from other altcoins, in direct competition with Lisk

just pick 1 or more

completely non-sense to dump at these rates, whatever the price in fiat is.
The only thing that matters is to gather more btc, knowing btc will only go up in time.
We can see the fud has increased lately (although fud not of great quality) so some of them are getting desperate.
this kind of reply will surely hit their ego and they will try to "show us" what they can do (fud increase, bigger price suppression)
but charts show us that it was already costly to put Lisk just under 14ksats lol.

good news coming next week (seen on https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=1420) and a great advertisement campaign starting next week too.

so, either you're out or stay in (or get in).  Would be sad to see some impatients selling, proving fud is still effective

And then some of us have actually been long time supporters of Lisk (all the way back to Crypti) and have become legitimately frustrated and concerned with how things are progressing. I still have my coins fyi, except for the fraction I converted to Ark.
477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 15, 2017, 10:14:48 PM
I watch a lot of negativity here write about LISK. I think many people have no patience to wait for the growth of the coins. in this case you need to have patience, but a patient can become rich. The investment - it's not easy work. All successes.

Do you know how long we have been waiting now? Are you aware of Crypti, the predecessor of Lisk where Max et al had their first ICO and where the basis of the Lisk code originates? Two ICOs and, what, two-/+ years and we are still just supposed to wait patiently. Meanwhile, other projects are eating up Lisk's potential market space by actually releasing developments and coming through on their promises in a timely fashion while the Lisk team plans to "brainstorm" for the next 2 months.

I only very recently became critical of the Lisk team and that's because I've been exposed to other teams and seen how unproductive this one has been in conparison. It doesn't add up.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 15, 2017, 10:09:50 PM
Quote
- Pham: Max, What is your plan of SDK development? features? Steps to implement it? Any speculation on when it can be released?
- Lisk (Max): I think that this brainstorming process (which shouldn't be underistamed) will likely take 2 more months. Then we will begin drafting up the architecture, then code, then test, then release fix-backs, and hopefully have something available for you all near the end of the year.
Goddamn you! What did you do last year?

Traveled the world. You would think a team of people could do "brainstorming" while they attended conferences and stayed in fancy hotels, and instead of just twidling their thumbs while waiting for the legal processes to be worked out for the foundation.
