I had to delete everything in the appdata again (except for wallet.dat and config). I added the BN but it did not help until I deleted the other stuff.

I think the dev has tracked down and fixed the sync issues, should hopefully be included in the next release.

Is this the correct wallet, Bitcredit Core version v0.30.16.5-3b2e655-dirty

I am stuck on block 93,272 with the last payment received from 4/19/2015.
The wallet ID might be different from OS to OS, no idea, but if you want to add some nodes to your bitcredit.conf to see if that helps with syncing you can use any of the Banknode IPs.

Run 'masternode list' at the debug window console or look on chainz: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bcr/masternodes.dws - click the 'detailed list' tab.

It's possible you don't even have a bitcredits.conf, in which case just make a file called that in whatever directory your wallet.dat and downloaded blockchain lives and put some 'addnode=1.2.3.4:9999' lines in it. (Without the quotes.)

Due to the scarcity of funding, we'll be shelving http://bitcentral.website until things are looking up.

can you tell what is this?

map port using UPnP is disable in the starndard wallet!? is this correct?

That's just QT warning that some image or other it uses has a funky RedGreenBlue colour profile. Can be ignored. And yes I think upnp is disabled by default. You can turn it on under Options > Network IIRC.

My is even lower 833,33 BCR a day, for a some time I'm also trying to examine what causes it. Wondering why there are huge gaps in fee payments, lack of transactions or decreased mining powers ?
My MN works 24/7, but don't know how do the others.

bitcreditscc can confirm, but I think there isn't any reference node like DASH has to regulate Banknode payments, so there is going to be some variance. Should all even out in the end. My average is over 12 days, and there were only 3 others when I started I think.

Variations in hashrate shouldn't affect blocktime except when there are sudden large changes, and even then it shouldn't matter much past the next block. eg. network hash suddenly halves mid-block, it takes longer to solve that block, but the diff retarget should smooth things out again after that. I don't know exactly how the momentum algo works in that regard though. Sorry if I'm telling you something you already know but it's a common misconception that more hash = faster blocktimes/ability to process more transactions.

I know Jo Public doesn't know a blockchain from their elbow, but instead of "WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF BANKING" I like "BLOCKCHAIN BANKING" - eg:

Jo Public didn't know what an ipod was at first either...  Grin

-"What does blockchain mean?"
-"It means they can't fuck you over."  Cheesy

See, explaining stuff to Jo Public isn't hard, you just have to talk Jo's language.

The statistics displayed by chainz about Banknodes are incorrect, there are more than 7 BNs. I estimate there are 11 now

Doesn't chainz just query their daemon? Mine also sees 7 Banknodes currently.

user@host:~/.bitcredit# ./bitcredit-cli masternode list
{
    "176.126.241.192:9999" : 1,
    "217.244.9.100:9999" : 1,
    "104.238.174.169:9999" : 1,
    "91.230.123.101:9999" : 1,
    "46.9.115.145:9999" : 1,
    "198.52.160.59:9999" : 1,
    "198.52.160.60:9999" : 1
}

Looking at the rich list (which can lag by up to 6 hours) the following addresses are or have been Banknodes, although the last one has only received one payment:

5xyD2QYoWoaKMVFLfmvuMs9J1jvWwgP6EY
5tFqPWCjmzjBDVXLjBL2Hdezwx6rRu7Bjm

Having said that, my BN seems to be averaging just over 1000 BCR/day when it should be about 1600 by my calculations.

I like 7 but grey is a bit light, and darkening it makes it too similar to the DASH colour scheme. How about

Pull your sells or loose your coins im giving you fair warning. Got loads of BTC in bound for a few coins, this one in particular
Why would you tell us?

If people raise their ask prices then the bids will naturally follow, at least part way. Makes for a more profitable dump.

my biggest regrets are not having enough coding expertise and not having enough hands. Because if i had either of the two, this would be way faster and more professional. I a improving, really quickly...but not fast enough for my liking. I would have wanted separate teams working on reversible transactions, escrow and colored coins. We would be tens of times faster and more secure than i am alone.

Maybe a revised bounty program? I am not a spendthrift, but those 6 million BCR exist to be used.

You're the one best qualified to determine what you need...  I as an investor have no problem with you contracting out specific jobs. Payment only on delivery to full spec of course.  Smiley

I PM'd HashEngineering who does a bunch of Android wallets and is working on the DASH one with integrated IX and DS, just to ask if he would be interested in porting it to BCR, but have not heard back.

Literal banks are two decades behind

Doesn't chime with what's being reported: http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/bitcoin-wall-street-brain-drain-1498124

Cheers

Banks will adopt blockchain tech only where it's in their own interests. They are probably trying to figure out how to work around the whole pesky accountability and traceability issue that blockchains bring.

Still, maybe they can help Bitcoin with their pitiful max txes per second limit.  Smiley

So, that's part of the improved trust rating without the credit rating. Let me know what you think.

Stake? No objections to a hybrid PoW/PoS if that's what you're thinking of doing, just curious.

What's the difference between network participation and tx frequency?

Also, tx frequency trivial to fake up, should it carry so much weight?

And my OCD would be happier if the max was 100.  Cheesy

Anyway, a bank node setup guide available?

edit:// and is there any ubuntu wallet I can just download and run? Or I have to compile?

There's a quick guide here for running a hot (connected to internet) wallet Bitcredit Banknode on a local machine: http://bitcredit.wikia.com/wiki/How_to_Create_A_Masternode

You're best bet is to read through one of the many Darkcoin MN guides, the process is basically identical, just eg. replace darkcoind with dashd. I have been meaning to write a BCR BN specific guide for a cold/remote setup using a VPS (your BN wallet remains safely offline after startup) but haven't had time yet.

As to the wallet, it should compile from source without issue following these instructions: http://bitcredit.wikia.com/wiki/How_to_Compile_Bitcredit
- but I don't think the current git master yet has the UI improvements posted a little while ago. If you can't compile it yourself let us know and someone  can post a working binary for you.

I tell you this guys. You may call me stupid but the fact that there may only be a few banknodes is not helping this project.

 Huh

Anyone is welcome to set one up.

Quick comparison at current market prices:

DASH MN - cost ~14 BTC, monthly return ~0.19 BTC
BCR BN - cost ~7 BTC, monthly return ~0.45 BTC

Of the two, I think BCR has the greater potential upside from current position by far.

And don't forget, there will soon be other ways of earning money from your Bitcredit Banknode.

Yep, even that Proof of Violence fiat crap is now too valuable for TPTB to let you have any, it's buggering up their plans to push interest rates even further double plus unpositive.

I'm extremely excited at the scale of this. Some weeks ago, when the masternode donation system and funding of devs was announced, I was excited but thinking that there wouldn't be nearly enough money to actually incentive development.

But 15% of block rewards? At the current rate of exchange, $40,000 per month or $480,000 per year? That's a staggering amount of funding which can be used for development, marketing, etc. I'm thinking this is very, very good! Imagine how far half a million dollars per year will go if spent wisely!

i think 10% should be plenty for right now. when the project grows and they need more the mn's should vote on it.
40/50/10 - m/mn/dev.

Sounds fair enough for me as well.

In my opinion, pulling a set amount from the blockchain for future spending encourages frivolous spending.  I would instead say that the blockchain amount changes only when there is a need.  For example, a proposed video to support Dash needs a 6 month take of 1%.  MNs vote and then after approved the split changes.  After 6 months the split reverts.  We could do the same for new features, wallets, etc.  I would encourage each funding proposal to expire after a set time.  Putting a permanent 'development tax' on the blockchain sounds really bad to me.

Liking this idea. If there are approved projects to fund, divert that agreed amount to fund them. If not, why stockpile money? Keep a reserve but cap it at something sensible. Don't take from miners and MN ops when it's not needed.

Contractors should be paid after they deliver to full spec, never before, we shouldn't be fronting money to anyone.

Who's in control of this pot anyway? There's someone out there with 600 MNs or something. What % of votes are needed to decide a poll?

So otoh and instaminers get all the votes? Your centralizing your system even more.

Why should it be any other way ?

I know you mean that sarcastically but you should be careful what you write, others may not take it that way

Yes, obviously we need to hand out free shit to all the whiners who didn't take a risk and are now bitching about not having reaped any of the rewards!

Anything other than a socialist free lunch bonanza is just unfair!

Gimme gimme gimme because I am a special snowflake!
