461  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: December 14, 2023, 08:04:25 PM
I agree with you about investing. It is a long term commitment and we can not expect to make money right away. Starting with a small amount of money is fine because it lets you learn about investing without risk too much. I m glad to hear that you started small and then added more money with time. It is impressive that you invest when Bitcoin was worth a lot and when it was worth low. It show that you are dedicated and willing to take smart risks.
And Investment is second name of long term. If you have invested so just wait for the best time. If you are you are trying to invest in short term so I think this is trading not an investment(long term investment).
Therefore, before we get to know or do research on the assets we will invest in, we must first understand the concept of investment. Everyone may be familiar with the word investment, but not everyone knows what the real meaning of investment is and the essence contained in it. After we understand that, then we start to understand the assets we will invest in, in this case bitcoin for example. It doesn't stop there, but we must have a long-term plan about the investments we make.
The basic thing to remember is, investing is not something that will make us instantly rich.
There are quite a lot of people out there who don't understand what investment really is, they think an investment is just buying and holding for a long time, and that's wrong.  when you invest, there are many things you have to learn, namely about asset choice, and timing and also the strategies that use to buy, meanwhile, if you invest in Bitcoin, you must not be careless, you must have a thorough plan and a good strategy, so choosing this strategy is what can make your investment profitable in Bitcoin.  My advice is always to use the DCA strategy and also buy the deep in investing. in bitcoins.
462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 13, 2023, 11:06:35 PM
Shorting your play time in gambling is the best strategy in gambling, apart from knowing how to manage your bankroll, don't spend too much time on a casino game, the longer the time you spent the more you lose, this is the truth that many gamblers won't accept at first until they realize it later.

For them it's about your addiction, and that's what brings in more money, and I am here to announce to you that time fixation is also a good way in gambling, spending 20 minutes in casino a day is better than someone who spend 1 hour.

1. Have a amount limit you can risk on gambling every week.

2. Choose your favourite day in a week for gambling.

3. Have a time count down when gambling, to avoid spending too much time.

Go back home or close your laptop once your time is up, and wait for the coming day, go back to your daily life and business, chase your goals using your business and invest more money on assets.

Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

Everything you said above is part of gambling responsibly and people who are safe or not become gambling addicts will definitely apply methods like those on your list.  Responsible gambler, will never want to get themselves into trouble, they will always try hard to control their desire to gamble because they know there are other things they have to do in real life, they can't possibly play 24 hours a day.  Just pay attention, usually a gambler wins big in the first few hours he plays, not when he plays for many hours.

*The high volatility attach to it can be very risky.

* It's not generally accepted by all.

* It can be stolen if your system is hacked.

* It's almost near impossible to retrieve if sent to the wrong address.

  advantages of having it

* It can make you filthy rich during the bull run.

* It decentralized, no third party like banks and financial institution.

* It's a self custodian asset, the privacy is priceless.

* It's very accessible at any given point in time.

I don't know if I missed some that I didn't mention.

Bitcoin price volatility will actually never cause losses to any Bitcoin investor if that person doesn't sell the Bitcoin they own.
it's not a hacked system that can make you lose your Bitcoin, but if you carelessly save your password and private key.
i would like to add a little about the benefits of Bitcoin, that is you can transfer large amounts of money between countries and continents in just a fraction of a second, even without fees of up to tens of dollars.
the bitcoin you own will not be able or impossible to be stolen by other people if you protect your password and keyphrase.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 11, 2023, 06:16:03 PM
If Man United looks for a new goalkeeper, there should be 1-2 goalkeepers to be out from Man United because Man United has 3 goalkeepers now. Besides Onana, Man United has Altay Bayındır and Tom Heaton. I don't think Man United will keep all the existing goalkeepers because it will spend too much money for goalkeepers' salaries. As long as they don't break the limit made FFP, I think Man United will have no problem to do it. But honestly, it is too early to buy new goalkeepers because they just signed Onana and Altay Bayındır in the previous transfer window.

Man United has too many problems, they have a problem with defense line and attacking line. I think both defense and attacking deserve to rebuilt. So, I think it is okay if Man United are looking for attackers. But they also need to rebuild the defense line as well.

the issue of disharmony within Man Utd has already been heard quite a bit, before Onana came to Man Utd, Man Utd management reportedly wanted Emiliano Martinez instead of Onana but Ten Hag did not agree with Man Utd management, so actually the recruitment of goalkeepers at Man Utd was influenced due to Ten Hag's decision, in the next transfer season there is a big possibility that Man Utd will hunt for another goalkeeper to accompany Onana, it is also possible that they will continue to target Martinez and 1 or 2 of the existing back-up goalkeepers at Man Utd will be sold to reduce the salary burden.
465  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nobody is above the law on: December 11, 2023, 05:47:27 PM
As a newbie that I am in this forum, I have been very observant in things that have be going on in this forum, but one thing that stands out too me that I found really impressive is the law, and measures put in place to do follow up on defaulter.

No body is above the law, an this forum demonstrate that to the greatest effect that I have ever experience.

Sometimes we do make mistakes as humans that we are, but in order for the forum to be transparent and clean the law and the standard need to be maintained.

466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 11, 2023, 05:28:28 PM
i actually plan not to gamble during this Christmas holiday, well this month there are really a lot of expenses, we even plan to go on holiday to another city during Christmas so in order to maintain my finances, i will try to restrain myself from gambling this month lol.  i remember the story of a neighbor near my house, whose husband actually lost a lot when gambling on Christmas Eve several years ago, he thought he would be able to win big but in reality that wasn't the case, so he couldn't celebrate Christmas and New Year in peace with his family, his that story was actually one of my reasons for going "off" from gambling during Christmas and New Year.
467  Economy / Economics / Re: World is full of things what nobody dont need just too much on: December 10, 2023, 09:23:19 PM
That’s how the world is structured, someone buys, and someone sells. The financial system is designed in such a way that people have to work and produce goods and services, and this is basically what economics is, and I also forgot about taxes, where would we be without them.  I agree about garbage, in developed countries they are effectively fighting it, whereas in other countries they only talk about it and do almost nothing about it.
Everyone in the world really needs to take care of all this in order to avoid "garbage" that pollutes, a glance at the economy, of course, to maintain the world economy, the resilience of people's purchasing power is really needed, so often goods are not actually needed for humans, it is mass-produced to keep the economic cycle solid, and just imagine how much damage and unemployment will arise if the production of goods or goods stops, let the world continue as it is now, trying to stop it will only drain your mind.
468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: December 10, 2023, 08:55:53 PM
It would be too much if Girona were targeting the title this season. I don't see anything great from Girona at all and with what they have shown at the moment it looks like it's just average. The season is still quite long and there is a possibility that several teams in La Liga will spend more on players in the next transfer window. Girona will face Barcelona and of course Xavi will not let Girona party at their home. The Blaugrana also really need three points to be able to stick closely to the top of the standings. I'm pretty sure Lewandowski will be celebrating the win over Girona today.
what actually happened to Girona, the first half match has not yet ended but they are already 2-1 ahead of Barcelona, i also looked at the statistics of the match, they actually don't have a good strategy and a lot of star players but they played very compactly and orderly.  i don't know how long Girona and Michel will be this lucky, but seeing how Girona has only lost 1 time since the start of the season, it seems Girona will be able to stay in the top 3 until this season ends.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 10, 2023, 08:36:26 PM
Hey house someone need a few clips here, don't know if a post of this exact nature has been discussed though.

In a situation where the both spouse are gamblers. Husband gambles, wife gambles, how can both of them manage the situation in terms of finance and the family affairs especially when children are now involve so that the time both spends on gambling doesn't affect family moments and affairs in general.

Would it help if  one of the couple quit for the other and if that's the case who should quit for who.
taking care of children is the responsibility of both parents, it is not only the wife's responsibility and not only the husband's responsibility, but in a social society that has existed for thousands of years, women are the ones who have to put a lot of effort into the household, so that is based on your question, my answer is that the wife must stop gambling (the wife is obliged to yield to her husband) to become a truly responsible wife, my words may seem old school, but fate between men and women cannot be equal.
470  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 10, 2023, 08:13:34 PM
What term retirement usually denotes to is, to stop working. People often don't like job, so to retire usually tends to be on top of the list. However, if one likes what he does, he will do something similar to pass the time even after retirement.

Now, I'll be honest, I dunno what I am driving at but I wanted to spark topic about retirement. Now, you go,
A hobby is something that a person cannot possibly give up even if that person is old and retired, so direct your hobby to something positive and constructive.  Most people misunderstand the meaning of retirement, they think that retirement means immediately stopping activities, even though the retirement period should still be used productively, there are many successful people today who emerged because they retired early from their old jobs and then they became strong. be creative and make great things, be creative and keep honing the skills or hobbies you have for your own development.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: With gambling, it's probably easier to quit cold turkey on: December 10, 2023, 07:00:03 PM
If someone is a problem gambler and has repeatedly relapsed to problematic behavior related to gambling, I have come to the conclusion that it's best to quit cold turkey.

With other things it can sometimes be recommended that the addict slowly winds down their consumption of the addictive activity or substance, but that doesn't sound very realistic with gambling, does it?

Quitting cold turkey, contemplating on your mistakes and talking about it with a group and some experts sounds like the best path. What are your thoughts? Could a problem gambler quit slowly and expect realistic improvements?
Even though it is not a 100% effective method, there are many gambling addicts who stop slowly using counseling methods and also open up to each other in a treatment group, but there are also many who cannot stop slowly, they must do it immediately, the point is that the recovery process for every gambling addict is different.  Curing gambling addicts who have been gambling for years is not easy, it requires a consistent and gradual process because if it is not consistent then the chances of returning will be great, but trying to stop slowly in every gambling activity is a technique that is quite recommended.
472  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What should newbies do in trading? on: December 09, 2023, 05:42:22 PM
I'm also beginner in trading. I trade since this summer and I lost about $90 on $120 account. Recently I make $20 on last $34.
Throughout my journey in trading, I read Jack Schwager's book, watched many educational videos on YouTube, read many articles on the educational sections of CEX exchanges, and also talked with many traders. It seems to me that I understand enough about technical analysis, trading systems and trader psychology. But I'm at a dead end and don't know what to do next. Other traders advised me to just trade, but I think that over time I will lose my remaining $45, and demo trading does not bring such emotions and I don’t want to try hard when trading it
Do you also apply the strategy you use on your demo account to your real account? If indeed the strategy you use on your demo account is correct then that strategy should also work well on your real trading account, always remember that trading has no end, every trader must learn, must maintain the consistency he has, and must have a good strategy to use in trading, don't let your trading activities go badly because you don't have a good strategy.  Always also evaluate the strategy you use when trading because it is very important, you will only make a loss if you don't have a good strategy in trading (you can use a demo account as a medium to practice your trading strategy)
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: First winning can be a trap on: December 09, 2023, 05:18:09 PM
The first attempt of gambling by anyone that the result comes out to be a win can be a trap if one is not careful and conscious. Have noticed people who plays gambling on their first attempt and win thinks gambling is very easy because they were lucky to have a win in the first attempt,  whenever it happens like this with beginners they still want to play  more and as they continue it is just a simple strategy to lose all they won in their first attempt,  it is important new gamblers shouldn't tricked to play more expecting to continue to have more wins.
It's nothing new that a beginner who has just played gambling will definitely win quite often at the beginning but in the end his winnings will disappear over time.  gambling is something that can be a trap and can also be an opportunity, what is important is how you manage all your gambling activities well and wisely, don't let yourself get caught up in gambling and become addicted to it, you are the one who is responsible for yourself, then gamble responsibly.
474  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Long Term BTC Holders Who Still Haven't Cashed Out Any Big Profits? on: December 08, 2023, 09:12:25 PM
snip
Now my other question is are there people that have say 10 btc or more even and are living paycheck to paycheck and have close to little in the bank but just pays their bills every month but just keep their btc as their life savings and rarely touch it unless you absolutely have to?  I got to assume very few people are like this right if they have say 10 btc or more?  Let's say whatever amount of money that person make a year and after taxes, they barely have enough to pay their living expenses and they are lucky to save even $1000 a year to put in the bank.  Let say this person has $5,000 in the bank only which isn't much for most Americans but then again, a good portion of Americans don't even have $1000 in the bank.
i'm sure there are members on this forum who continue to hold on to the bitcoin they have for a long time, they do that because they don't need money by selling the bitcoin they have, they must already have a permanent job out there that pays them well.  i always tell anyone that the best way to get good profits from bitcoin is by trading, investing or opening a business related to bitcoin.  Michael Saylor is a good example of a bitcoin investor who until now has not sold the bitcoin he bought through his company Microstrategy, he can do that because his company has made big money from their best-selling products.

Although I bought my first Bitcoin through a P2P transaction with an exchange wallet, after receiving my first coins I have to resend them to an electrum Bitcoin wallet because it is safer.

With the help of the above names and those that I didn't mention, I was encouraged to start the investment as soon as possible.
i am always happy when someone new buys bitcoin, i congratulate you for buying it successfully, and believe in bitcoin to be your long-term investment.  You said you had the intention of buying bitcoin last October but only now has it been realized, if only you had done it last October then i'm sure by now the value of the bitcoin you own would have risen 1.5x, Thank God you are not too late to buy Bitcoin, rest assured that Bitcoin is very suitable for long-term investment, not suitable for short-term investment (unless you are a trader)
476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 08, 2023, 07:18:19 PM
I'm 19 years old, living in Korea, and I'm thinking of selling a computer to raise money to invest in bitcoin. I think I can sell it for about $600. I get about $100 a month as an allowance from my father. $100 is only for personal use, not for living expenses. I've been using these $100s to buy bitcoin for a few months now. It's ridiculously small money, but I believe it could be quite a lot of money if I keep saving it steadily. Is selling a computer the right decision?
as a student, the main thing you have to do is actually focus first on your education, secondly, you have to think long term which is best, is selling your computer a good thing?  a few years ago i was also your age and at that time i worked part-time in a supermarket, maybe you can try doing that (working part time), while focusing on your education, you can also focus on your investment in Bitcoin, you yourself have to plan your life, we can only give a little advice for you to understand.
477  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for newbies on: December 08, 2023, 06:46:50 PM
Hello everyone, as you can see I'm new here, I'm looking for recommendations for a game to bet some money that I don't mind losing, I would like recommendations and if possible a recommendation for somewhere that teaches how to play. Thank you very much. Grin
hello friends, actually for you to be able to play a gambling game well you have to like the game first, for example, you have to like slot or dice games first so that you can play well and make a profit there, never force yourself to play the type of gambling game that you don't like or master because it can have a fatal impact on the final results you get, well of all these, sports betting games are actually the easiest to master, especially for beginners, you have to be able to start trying it and learn slowly about analysis and several others.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: December 07, 2023, 11:40:20 PM
I want to pose a question that I believe is quite expensive for many of us here, and it's a dilemma most of us can relate to. We all know that gambling is a game where we put our luck to the test. However, there's a crucial moment in every gambler's journey. the moment when you hit that big win. Do you cash out and savor your victory, or do you continue playing in hopes of even bigger winnings?

I've often wondered how many of us can truly stop playing when we are ahead. It's a challenge because the allure of winning more can be irresistible. I've witnessed situations where a friend deposited money into a casino, faced losses, and just when he was on the brink of frustration, he struck a significant win. Did he stop playing? No, he left his winnings in the casino, only to lose it all again.
So, I ask you all, what would you do when you finally make that big win? Would you cash out immediately to enjoy your winnings, or would you keep playing in the hopes of an even more substantial prize? Shocked
The question is, are you still very confident about your luck if you continue playing your gambling game? and have you made big money while gambling?

If i am no longer confident in my luck then i will immediately stop the gambling activities that i do immediately, i will definitely immediately withdraw a few dollars of profits that i have made and then put a small portion of my capital back into my account.  Gambling is also an activity that cannot be continued continuously, so stopping after winning is the best decision.
479  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID is dead, "long live the new COVID". World economy get ready? on: December 07, 2023, 10:00:04 PM
It's really scary to hear about the undiagnosed respiratory disease affecting children in China. The covid 19 feels is coming back to me. While it's important to stay informed, it's also crucial to rely on official health organizations for updates and guidance. Let’s not make fakenews prevail. We can try to maintain good hygiene practices, staying informed about the situation through reliable sources, and following any recommendations from health authorities. Only scientists can confirm this and theres no harm in staying safe right? We've got experience from dealing with COVID, so it's about staying smart and being ready for whatever comes our way. Every country should cooperate.
This is very important, we must not easily believe any news that has not been clearly proven, just look at what happened during the past Covid 19, there was a lot of bad news circulating and everything seemed to make it clear that there was a big interest behind the emergence covid 19 pandemic.  i haven't found out more details about the new disease that is rumored to be the cause of the next lockdown, as ordinary people, we can only prepare ourselves well and always filter all information circulating on social media.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling? on: December 07, 2023, 09:30:14 PM
If you work as a staff member in a physical casino as a dealer or in a sports bookie, I know that there are subtle ways you can use to encourage responsible gambling that will not go against the terms and conditions for staff.

For example, suppose you encounter a gambler who has wagered $200 at the table and is currently winning $6k. Would you express to them, "Hey, you're up $6k, and you initially entered this table with $200. Walk away, Take your winnings, go!" or will you say, "It is very admirable to know when to stop"?

What will you say within your limits to encourage responsible gambling?
what a dilemma for me lol, on the one hand without losing players the casino business where i work will go bankrupt, so i will be on the side who will not say anything to influence the players, i will only focus on my work and will not interfere all types of losses or wins experienced by players at the casino where i work.  offline casinos and online casinos will continue to exist if enough players lose, this is very real and will continue to be like this, therefore, selection like this must continue to occur.
