461  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to run Bitcoin node on my HP Intel i7 on: March 05, 2024, 11:02:03 AM
If you want to run a bitcoin full node, you should read this article from bitcoin.org which are the minimum requirements to run a node https://bitcoin.org/en/full-node#what-is-a-full-node

Then you will need to check if your computer will be able to run bitcoin full node.

You can also check a video there on how to setup the bitcoin full node.
462  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to sign a message?! on: March 05, 2024, 07:22:53 AM
Is there an alternative I can use to sign a message since coinbase doesn't let you?

All previous transactions were on coinbase..
You can not sign a message on an exchange or custodial wallet. Also you can not sign a message with an address that an exchange or custodial will generate you.

Are you talking about the Coinbase noncustodial wallet? Import the seed phrase on Electrum, Sparrow or Bluewallet wallet and sign the message from any of the wallet.
463  Economy / Lending / Re: 10€loan on: March 04, 2024, 05:40:13 PM
Do not waste your time on this forum seeking for loan because no one will be very stupid to borrow you the money. You have no collateral and you are not in any signature campaign.

You can borrow the money from bank or those apps that that are giving out loan.
464  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sparrow wallet vs nunchuck for jade cold wallet on: March 04, 2024, 09:43:57 AM
I'm not that familiar with Nunchuck, but it looks like it's paid (depending on what you're looking for) so I'd go with either Sparrow or Jade.
Nunchuck is also free except you go for the inheritance plan. If you do not go for it, you can use it as a normal wallet and have complete control over your keys and no payment.
465  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sparrow wallet vs nunchuck for jade cold wallet on: March 04, 2024, 09:37:15 AM
Sparrow is a good wallet. It can be used offline on your airgapped device.

Nunchuck wallet is also good but I do not like the fact that it has inheritance plan or something like that. You can read about what I am talking about:

WORRIED ABOUT BACKUPS?
We've got you covered! Wallet and key backups are automatically encrypted and securely stored in the cloud. With our assisted recovery feature, you can regain access to your wallet with a few simple steps.

Sparrow wallet is a desktop software wallet. Hardware wallet are the ones that are air gapped. Passport wallet is a good hardware wallet. You can use electrum on airgapped device, to serve as your cold storage, and create a watch only wallet to monitor and broadcast your transactions.
Electrum is a good wallet which we all know but Sparrow is also a good wallet that can be used.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: March 04, 2024, 08:59:54 AM
No doubt, sports betting for me.

Winning on casino games or luck based games isn't really entertaining because you're only clicking the button and you can't affect the outcome. While in sports you can learn about the teams or the players, it will increase your sense to bet.

I feel like it's really fun when you can predict the outcomes.
You are also predicting the outcomes of the games you staked in casinos. The difference between the casino games and sports matches while staking is just that you will analyze what could be the result in sport matches but no analysis in casino games. But the outcome of both have to be predicted. Or if you say prediction and guess are different, then the outcome of sport matches are also just guesses and the match might not be won. I see casino games entertaining for me, also are sport betting
467  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is a block equivalent to a bitcoin on: March 04, 2024, 08:04:06 AM
In 10 minutes average but which might not be exactly 10 minutes, new block is mined. The blocks are called the chain of blocks which is refered to as blockchain. The block contains newly mined bitcoin and transaction fee of people that make transactions. Which means bitcoin is contained in each block. They are not the same thing.
468  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: seed and wallet validation on: March 03, 2024, 11:37:08 PM
Honestly, I do. I think it is always prudent to send a small amount first before a large transaction if possible.

I totally agree with the initial test transfer.  Send a tiny amount (like $10-$20) to a different wallet you control, just to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Why?

After you paste the address, check the address, make sure the address is correct. Check the address again and again. If it is correct, then send the amount of bitcoin that you want to send.

The reason someone may not want to send all the coins at ones is because of privacy and he will send to other addresses.
469  Other / Meta / Re: I think we should have a dedicated Notifications Tab on: March 03, 2024, 11:09:28 PM
Theymos know all these and likely all will be included in the new forum software. But it has taken too long.

Since Ninjastic telegram bot gives me notifications of new topics, I have preferred to use it. I use forum notification bot through email for replies. Both are quite good.

471  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide] on: March 02, 2024, 08:52:04 PM
What is the most secure way to install electrum to android. Is it via apk or official app from google play . I am not an expert on android so I was wondering if there is any reason not to trust the google play
Through the official site and verify its signature. It is recently that fake Electrum apps are not common on Playstore but you can see a fake app on Playstore at anytime.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it time now to use Premium VPN when playing in the casino? on: March 02, 2024, 06:53:28 PM
Is this also happening to a casinos with KYC? I’m wondering the purpose of KYC if they will still think that you have multiple accounts. If you are going to use VPN make sure you don’t spend much money on that because its prohibited in many casinos and if they caught you they can easily freeze your account which is for me, more risky. Better to have your own personal internet connection or just use your data for your gambling activities, by doing this at least you lessen the risk of being tagged as multi account.
Yes, KYC can help people to know not to have more than one accounts. But know that VPN is not only used for gambling, it can be used for many other reasons, especially for people which are crypto users that like privacy. There are other sites that you may also want to access that you do not want to use your IP address for it. There is a good VPN that can also be used without ads, I have used the free version of proton VPN and no ads, although it is a paid VPN.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 01, 2024, 08:56:53 PM
I don't think there is anything that I can disagree about with those statements, I mean, people have different ways of betting that suit their style of betting perfectly and it is best for people to use the strategy that they are comfortable with. some of the listed statements might work for me and some might not work but that doesn't mean I disagree with it.
But some people will use the strategy that will bankrupt their account. Won't you disagree with those gambling addict strategies? I will not agree with betting everyday. It is do not bet everyday as it is in OP. But you are not wrong about the remaining which are: do not bet all your money on one bet, bet the same amount on every bet and do not bet more than once a day. These should be left to individual to decide as long as they are not betting more than their small amount of money that they can afford to lose.

475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How your feels? on: March 01, 2024, 07:19:29 AM
Actually, I don't have any regrets because when I was gambling with bitcoin/altcoins, I really made sure that I wouldn't exceed the budget I set for myself, because I know that anytime after the pandemic is over, it is possible that the value of bitcoin is just like what is happening now. Maybe the biggest regrets are the people who have been using bitcoin for gambling since the beginning. It is also risky, so for me it is not advisable to use it for gambling, it is better to just hold it and wait for it to grow, just like a typical investment.
That is just it. If you are not exceeding the budget, you will not remember that you lost any money to gambling. Also that as some people are gambling, they are also holding and they are enjoy recently that bitcoin price continue to increase. I also spend small amount of money on gambling and not going more than my gambling budget which is a small amount of money.
476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: your perception about gambling on: March 01, 2024, 07:12:27 AM
Anyway, since you brought it up I have a few questions for you... Does anyone forbid you to gamble? And who? Do you gamble and do you get some satisfaction from that? Or you gamble only to make a quick profit? What is your perception about gambling and how free you are to share that with us...
But should a pastor should be gambling? Pastor need to be leading by example. I saw OP mention bet9ja which is a Nigerian betting site and gambling is legal in Nigeria but some people may just not like it and have discouraging opinion about gambling even as the gambling is legal, especially people that know someone as a pastor will criticize the pastor for gambling. If OP is not a pastor, this should not bother him at all and also if he is not from the the Muslims northern part of Nigeria which forbid gambling. The southern parts are full of gambling shops and agents and people are gambling there in public very well. The southern people are also the people that are mostly on this forum, if not all of them are southerners.
477  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does having children have an influence on gambling habits? on: March 01, 2024, 07:02:58 AM
I mean that thing should be obvious if you are a responsible parent right? If you cannot give them even the basic necessities to your children then I think you have absolutely no right to gamble. That's just what's ideal but we know majority wouldn't follow that. Most people may not go to a casino or sit on a table for card games but they would still keep on buying lottery tickets everyday and say it's just a small amount.
You can have a wife and children and still gamble if you are not wasting money on gambling. Let us say you are receiving $1000 monthly and you are using just $10 to $50 to gamble. That is still good if it is not affecting you and your family at all. But once you are gambling, getting addicted, using more than the amount of money that you can afford to lose to gamble, that is when you should not gamble, even if you are not a family man. But I think most family man may reduce how often they are gambling or not gambling anymore.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mom won 50,000$ in Lottery on: March 01, 2024, 06:56:46 AM
Congratulations to her. $50000 is not a small amount of money. If I win this kind of money, I will quit gambling and just focus on business. It is not that I use gambling as business. I play games with small amount of money and I only go for casinos games and sport betting with small odds and not determine to win big amount like this. But it is exciting to read something like this. Congratulations to her again.

You are new on this forum.

The website you are talking about is new. It was created in January 24 2024.

You have no advertisement.

This is like how scammers are doing to scam people

Your site should be avoided. It is a scam.
480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports that you don’t watch but you keep placing bets on: February 29, 2024, 12:59:55 PM
and to God be the glory, I lose and I win at times.
I thought you win would be what you will use to conclude this. But the way you said it, it is like you do not gamble irresponsibly and that is very good.

The only thing I will miss is the game in action, some matches are very entertaining while some are not so good as expected, I don't place bets on anything else than football and slots casino games, I have someone who place bets on other sports that he is not so into, and few times he get lucky.
You do not have to watch football matches before you will place bet. You can be tracking what is happening online and going for online statistics like the matches results, the last five matches the club played, the head to head of teams that are playing, knowing if the leagues are good in scoring goals, also knowing if the club have good players that score often.
