461  Other / Off-topic / Re: Amazon still (as of 2012-01-28) sells Foie Gras products on: January 30, 2012, 11:40:45 PM
So, besides being a company that sells food products, what does Amazon have to do with Foie Gras?  Many supermarkets also sell it...  Specialty food stores... restaurants...

Why are you picking on Amazon in particular?

Seriously. You guys should be bitching about Michelin chefs, not Amazon.

Throw another stick of butter in!

But they avoided that issue. Interesting info though. So what's this further unexplained delay?

*yawn* Reported. Tired of all the trolling. We can't even have a conversation in here without you butting in and being a dick. Don't you have a job, a hobby or something?

Nice. Did you put "I'm a whiny little bitch" in the comments box?

Go fuck yourself, fella. Feel free to report this post as well.

Ahh, a fine afternoon in off-topic, indeed.

...and an education in LUTs, bitstreams, and chip stats. It really can't be beat.

To the FPGA guys here: Why is it 'rolled' and not 'furled'? It seems way more appropriate.

This will be a typical mafia-type prosecution under RICO. When they are eventually extradited, they will pound the smallest fish to give testimony against the other 3 to put the final nail in the coffin. Not that they need it really. The evidence is pretty substancial inclusive of in-house emails between management basically allowing, suggesting, and advocating piracy, intentional mechanisms to keep pirated content while masking their deletion by multiple file identifiers going to the same files which were specifically designed to make content owners think they were being deleted when they were not, and a complex financial system for ill-gotten gain from it all.

For being so smart, these individuals were very stupid and lacked any common sense. They knew what they were doing was illegal and to remain in any country that had extradition treaties was simply idiotic.

They deserve the decades of prison time they will get and the loss of eveything they hold dear for their stupidity.

You seem to be confused. Do you drive a Rolls Phantom?

Please explain. I have no idea what you mean. Confused about what ?

I am saying that you are some broke chump criticizing a fucking baller who rose to the top by providing a service that people want and stealing nothing.

Let me pose a question for you: If I take a Montsanto sunflower seed, grow it, harvest the seeds and plant ten of them the next year, am I stealing from Montsanto?

meh, patents on seeds, this is going overboard

I've got me a huge collection of patented GM seeds in my freezer. Sometimes, you gotta pilfer from the botany lab. Hopefully I don't grow any extra limbs...

After living in LA a bunch of years within spitting distance from a college and having an awesome library at my disposal, I finally went and got a public library card. The wealthy neighborhoods have such bitchin' libraries, and my neighborhood had -not joking at all here- more movies than books. It was pretty offensive.
468  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why do you mine on deepbit? on: January 30, 2012, 01:44:24 AM
I mine at deepbit - so what.  It works so it saves me pissing around and spending my time making other things work.  My time is worth something.

If I pay 3% on a couple of coins/day for the last six months that I've been mining (on and off) that's 11 whole coins ($50-$60) - I'm unexcited by that as it's trivial.

Making other things work? Are you fucking kidding? So, fifteen minutes to set up an account and point miners at it isn't worth $60? You really value your time at $240/hr? I would bet my life that you have no skill worth that much, save maybe whoring yourself out to fat chicks. Even that is a stretch.

Thanks Randy.  Actually, for the work I do my charge rate is 250.

I should have also observed that keeping computers running well on something for six months or a year takes more than 15 minutes, I found that in terms of what i spend my time working on, it wasn't a huge overhead.

What do you do for $250/hr?

Currently (this week) doing risk management software audit for a retail company (it's a bit dull) and advising on risk parameters/policy for a wholesale company (more interesting).  Next week - don't know.  Maybe I could rub your tummy for you?

So, in reality, you bill at $250/hr, are self employed and have plenty of overhead wrapped into that figure. Maybe I am arguing semantics, but as a small business owner, I can confidently say that isn't the same as a wage of $250/hr.

What's the ticket on a belly rub?

You are right DAT(1). On close inspection it appears I have taken that liquid for more than it actually is.
Thanks for kindly bringing this issue to my attention.

As much as I agree with doing extensive bleed testing of the assembled system, I'm afraid newbs will keep doing the newbish thing and run the machine ASAP :/
The same with security - some subjects which seem too complicated (or just non-intuitive) will constantly be overlooked.

There's no good reason to mine on deepbit.
It's the pool with the highest fees for proportional AND PPS. Don't like high variance with smaller pools? there are plenty of pps pools with zero fees. That's right folks, zero variance, AND you don't pay fees. crazy, right?

inb4 diablo locks this for being off topic.
hahaha you are naive that are pools with no fees plz make a deep analysis and see if the pool admins steal from miners using shares or sending block solutions to other daemon on other IP
