Shojayxt has been very quiet of late... I wonder who he's come back as...

Oh please don't compare me to that dreg. I am far superior.

You should be looking for a job and not posting on this forum. I read you applied for three entire jobs! Last time I was looking for work I applied to 65, and had 4 interviews. Looking for work is a 9-5 job, you should be going through every posting possible, and harassing every company you can. In the downtime polish up some skills.

463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] GPU Miners Status (AUG 2014) on: August 10, 2014, 09:16:58 PM
I have 35 cards, $0.11/kwh
I just break even on x11, I'm making about 20 a day mining other things right now. I won't sell, even if i mine at a slight loss. I have a 3 week grace period between when the hydro bill is issued and its actually due. This has been as long as 2 months, frequently. My thought is that this is enough time for a bubble to form.

I've looked at the 750ti's, I could double my farm if I sold most of my current holdings, but roi is still dismal if we don't bubble this year. All I need is to be caught with a spiking bitcoin price right after I sold a lot of them.

I watched one guy who took out a 100k loan to start a farm in january, he mined at middlecoin until it died, then shut down and took a massive loss. He was complaining how he could barely get $200 dollars for a 290 card, when they were still retailing for 600. His power was as cheap as mine. He could still be in profit.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is the greatest pain to use? on: August 10, 2014, 08:50:07 PM
Monero, My system is useless while its updating. I made it usable by lowering the task priority. The .net wallet only crashes. I use text mode to sync so I can see progress then use cryptonote wallet to send.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternative cryptocurrency is dead on: August 10, 2014, 08:46:18 PM
Dead? I don't think so.

The new Goldcoin (GLD) client is going to get a lot of people's attention. It's basically Bitcoin 2.0.

https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=2616.0

lol Java.

No.

What's wrong with Java?

I have been following you since you took over this project. I have to hand it to you, you are persistent.  Wink I do check the gld price every now and then.

467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is mining even profitable anymore? on: August 09, 2014, 08:49:51 PM

Hard times now but the next boom is coming soon which will save the miners [again].

What next "boom" ?  Undecided
The same announced on June / July and now scheduled for September ?
The Speculation section of this forum it is full with  predictions..

It will happen eventually. This time last year my single scrypt rig was making about a dollar a day. At the peak of the doge rally it was making 45 dollars a day. I used all my coins to expand into a farm literally a week before newegg jacked up r9 prices and now im back to making 8-10 dollars a day with 6 rigs.

For comparison, If we have the same growth my farm will make 400 a day at the peak. If....
468  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need 3 GPU FARMS or several Miners! on: August 08, 2014, 03:41:40 AM
He wants to pool farms under a single address to mine monero and promises to split the profits. He will skim for helping setup the rigs, unfortunately my rigs are already mining monero so I don't need his help.

Clearly you don't have any desire to compare competing technologies and are just trying to defend your 50 dollar investment. When you finish high school and are a big boy let me know.

Look at how wound up you are! Smiley I don't think you came here to listen to reason. If you received an explanation of internet  browsers from Marc Andreessen you'd call him a fraud. There was a visual figure given and you complained it was too complex. There's a video explanation coming, so until then go back to playing with yourself.  Grin

Quote my post were I said the flowchart was too complex. Please.

This thread has all been positive. Guys keep the topic on cloak, and not throwing jabs at other coins. There are other topic created for comparison.
nsimmons you not contributing anything on this thread and on the border line your post history clearly shows you like to bait other users for trolling sake.

Sorry you want "contribution"

FYI
The masternodes produce a chain of shuffled transactions that loop around eventually back to the senders wallet. At each node they are mixed with other users funds, forwarded to the next node, repeats, then eventually back to the sender. This process is automated so the sender doesn't need to mix their coins, they are done before hand. A known concern of the nodes is a ddos attack, or having control of a large number could allow a person to track the coins, if all 8 nodes used to mix were controlled by the same person. Node count is over 800 last time i checked.

This chat log, shows that this mixing process happens all locally between local addresses. My immediate thought was that link between ip and transactions might be established.

That's a bunch of bullshit. If the masternodes are known IP how can they withstand a man in the middle attack? It sounds like a shitty way to send insignificant information - let alone money.

I was explaining the system to smokin since he wasn't familiar with it, I was not defending it or promoting it. FYI

Context it means everything. Learn it.

The context is, you're so delusional and convoluted by supporting a lie called DarkCoin that you can't see that you're in another thread fighting someone who has innovated beyond it. DarkKoolAid must be delicious or pay well.

Clearly you don't have any desire to compare competing technologies and are just trying to defend your 50 dollar investment. When you finish high school and are a big boy let me know. Why are you not off pumping Coino?

PoSA Rough Draft Cloak 2.1

http://pastebin.com/ArJNmHEq

Edit - I just don't understand the last part; what good is all this cloaking if bobs IP is (apparently) still connected to the PoSA wallets?

That was my question as well, it talks about protecting bob in case richard is a thief, but what if richard is just a spy.  This is a known issue for drk coin, which is why there are 8 middle men, ensuring that the probability of all 8 being controlled by the same entity is low. What if 1/3rd of the cloak network is sitting at the nsa?

So bob shuffles his coins locally removing their origin, but then he sends to richard to send to alice for drugs, and richard narcs on him.

there is no possible explanation for something like that.

There is no excusing it, but there is an explanation. Clearly the person has an abnormal psychology, which may be physically detectable and should be studied. Without this study possible solutions to the cause will never be found. Dissection is only one such method of study, fmri would be much more elucidating.

What if this person could eventually be treated in some manner, not to control their behavior but to restore empathy and consideration of consequence. If this person is for all intents and purposes "fixed" should they still die?

Ignore for the moment the ethics of "fixing" people who we say are "broken".
475  Other / Off-topic / Re: rapist must die on: August 03, 2014, 06:52:52 AM
As much as I disagree with the death penalty, I feel like we have no other option. The rapists need to feel fear. They need to be scared of the law.

Execution is not a deterrent for crime and never has been. If being publicly eviscerated and castrated doesn't stop an offense, what makes you think a needle would.

Enjoy
http://tudorstuff.wordpress.com/2009/03/30/tudor-justice-the-horrors-of-execution/

Execution may not deter crime, but in extreme cases like this i think it should be allowed. What possible explanation could be given for raping a baby? that person is a sick fuck, they should be executed and not have the chance to repeat the offense. In the ancient times people were stoned to death for much less than what we would execute someone for today. I'm not saying we should be that strict, but their should be capital punishment for raping babies/children doing other fucked up shit along that lines. Its one thing to make a mistake(girl was drunk, girl was slightly underage), but you would have to know what you are doing is wrong when its a baby/kid. there is no possible explanation for something like that.

You are conflating 3 different issue.
1. Justification for baby rape. I'm not even going to discuss that.
2. Deterrent.
3. Revenge. Call it justice if you will.

2. Statistics are ample for the US, of which I am not a citizen, showing violent crime does not decrease in states with the death penalty. Crime is negatively correlated with education. Places where people are left to fend for themselves with little social safety nets breed criminals. The irony is that people are more that happy to spend money to house and kill offenders, than to spend a fraction of that to deal with the root causes.

3. I am completely against the death penalty for a single reason. I don't believe in any deity or afterlife, as such it is my view that this single opportunity for existence is not something anyone has the right to deny.

Consider your last statement, fucked up shit, people were imprisoned for being gay not long ago, because it was fucked up shit, before they were executed. Now I am not equating being gay with baby rape, what I am saying is once you use the nuclear option of killing a person you can never go back. I prefer not to live in a society were people are killed due to culture morality, which changes with time.

Again I am not suggesting some cultures may approve of baby rape, I am referring the the blanket statement "fucked up shit".

OK so how about we make a list of crimes that are really really bad and people definitely deserve to die for.

1. Baby rape, extra painful execution.
2. Murder
3. Regular rape.
4. Heresy. Hey denying god all mighty might belong at number 1.
5. Sodomy. Faggots, god says its bad.
6. Adultery. Cheating whores.
7. Working on Sunday. Bible says death

As time passes society changes perspective on what is moral. So we make a special laws so only baby rapers and some murders are executed. Eventually some political group will garner enough support and try to add other crimes back to the list. Eventually we will be back to stoning women on the street, which is occurring now!

nsimmons, please explain to me why you are trying to fud price down when it's already cheap? you can buy from the orderbook.

You are welcome to read my previous posts for your answer. I am not interested in buying anything that hasn't been thoroughly vetted. Trying to time speculative, illiquid markets is too stressful. If the fundamentals are sound, then I can outlast a down trend, just ask my gold. I did get out of silver a week before the 2011 crash, but that was just luck. But if the fundamentals are not strong, my investment quite readily can go to zero. Bitcoin is volatile enough.

Hype is hype. I watched the dotcom bubble, I watched AOL buy Time Warner and thought who the fuck uses AOL. I'm not looking to make 700% by next week.

fucking AOL, i had to phone long distance to use that shit in 96, because our town didn't have an isp. You know how long it took me to download nt 4.0 on a 14.4 modem.

Coinjoin is cracked by soduku. So any coin using coin join for their anon is pretty much obsolete at this point. POSA does not use coinjoin. It is a completely new protocol.

No coin I am discussing uses coinjoin, so I don't know why you mentioned it.

Just want to note that was not supposed to be posted here, as its a 'highly simplified' unofficial explanation of how the system works for people just getting in.  The white-paper will better explain it once final draft of that is ready.

This sounds a lot like the darksend+ currently being implemented on test net. Making pools of shuffled coins, at random time intervals.

Shuffling/random time intervals are optional features.

Yes I understood that. I only quickly read the chat log but...

"Does Bob need to “cloak” his money in advance?

Yes, Bob will need to start this process before he can truly send money anonymously, so he will need to decide beforehand how much of his money he wants to be “cloaked.”
To make things even better for Bob, the PoSA system has some settings allowing Bob to decide to what degree his money is “cloaked.”
Bob can decide on the total amount of “cloaked” coins he wishes to generate, the time delay between the “cloaking” of the coins (even random times if Bob wishes), the rate of coins that will be “cloaked” each time (ex.: 10 at a time), and even a special optional setting that “shuffles” the “cloaked” coins around to the other PoSA wallets Bob possesses."

This cloaking process is very similar to the function of the auto denomination function of the masternodes in darksend being tested currently. The difference being the shuffling is done locally, vs via a chain of nodes.

Unless I misunderstand it.

Sorry wish I could answer that but haven't followed Dark's anonymous system. I also know very little in how this all works, so giving you a proper answer is difficult.

You'll get a better reply from someone that knows how both systems work, I'd recommend joining the IRC and asking the developers or Private message them with your questions. Try checking in a few hours, joe was answering questions in the IRC after posting the rough draft. He'll be back in a few hours I suppose so might want to check that out. You'll get a much more detailed response  Smiley

Misunderstanding by choice. It doesn't benefit your motives to understand it. Masternodes are obsolete.

Please explain the system in detail to me, since you have inside information on the development process.
