England had a very good start chasing a score of 277 runs they have scored 110 for the loss of one wicket in 20 overs, Bangladesh had to pick up some wickets inorder to win this match, if not England will run away with this match.

Rossouw scored a century for south africa against australia and they are cruising at a very good pace, reached 242 in 40 overs ,Australia has to bat really well if they have to win this match.

England have scored 227 for the loss of 5 wickets. The remaining 5 batsmen have to score 50 runs at less than a run a ball.
Doable, if they don't get choked by the Bangladeshi spinners.

ICICI Bank executes India's first transaction on blockchain

http://www.business-standard.com/article/pti-stories/icici-bank-executes-india-s-first-transaction-on-blockchain-116101200519_1.html

ICICI Bank on Wednesday announced that it has successfully executed transactions in international trade finance and remittances using blockchain technology in partnership with Emirates NBD.

"ICICI Bank is the first bank in the country and among the first few globally to exchange and authenticate remittance transaction messages as well as original international trade documents related to purchase order, invoice, shipping and insurance, among others, electronically on blockchain in real time," the bank said in a statement.

The usage of blockchain technology simplifies the process and makes it almost instant-to only a few minutes. This is in contrast to the current process which involves a complex and lengthy paper trail that requires international shipping and courier, it said.

Blockchain gains currency beyond the financial world

http://www.livemint.com/Industry/Gbii6cPPDXySXufWZgUyMM/Blockchain-gains-currency-beyond-the-financial-world.html

The financial world’s excitement over adopting the cryptocurrency Bitcoin has undoubtedly see-sawed ever since the code was first released on 9 January 2009 by a person who assumed the name, Satoshi Nakamoto.

However, there is no such uncertainty among companies globally when it comes to exploring the adoption of blockchain—the underlying technology that powers Bitcoin

Zebpay looks to raise $5m for Bitcoins

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/money/zebpay-looks-to-raise-5m-for-bitcoins/articleshow/54773841.cms

Bitcoin wallet startup Zebpay is in talks to secure Series-A funding of $4-5 million and expects to close the investment by next month, according to one of its founders Saurabh Agrawal. Agrawal said the company is in talks with several Indian investors and that a US-based venture capital fund, which focuses on blockchain technology, has also evinced interest. This will be the second investment the company will have closed this year.

In a seed round in January, Zebpay had raised $1 million. The bitcoin space in India is in the nascent stage but has started getting investor attention. Last month, Bengaluru-based bitcoin exchange startup Unocoin raised $1.5 million in an investment round led by Blume Ventures and saw participation from several US investors including Digital Currency Group, Boost VC, Bank to the Future, and FundersClub.

Blockchain promises to transform clearing and settlement process

http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/blockchain-promises-to-transform-clearingsettlement-process_7359061.html

The advent of blockchain, the technology that powers digital currencies such as bitcoin, has been met by the financial industry with perceptions of being both a threat and an opportunity.

At core, a blockchain is a software that maintains a decentralized public ledger that records transactions and ownership of cryptocurrency. The way a digital currency such as bitcoin works is each transaction is recorded as a verifiable ledger -- a 'block' in the chain of entries.

How blockchain can transform finance, even eliminate jobs

http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/business/how-blockchain-can-transform-finance-even-eliminate-jobs_7561441.html

One of the most exciting developments in the world of finance is the advent of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin. These are digital currency that operates without central supervision and promise to change the way payments are made in the future. But the technology underpinning digital currencies, blockchain, has the potential to transform several aspects of the financial industry -- one of the being how brokerages carry out the clearing and settlement process for trades.

Currently, hundreds of thousands of people across the world -- many based out of India -- are employed in back offices where they verify, match and settle trades carried out across financial markets and asset classes in a timely manner. Using blockchain, this job can be done with far less people.

Pakishtan vs Westindies one day match,Pakishtan 1st innings ended with a score of 309 and i have betted on West Indies at odds 11 in the 43rd over but after that Pakistan did not score that much runs and after 50 overs the odds on Westindies has been dropped to 5 now.I have better 0.025 btc on west indies at odds 11,so i hope i am lucky today and get a big win. Smiley

Best of luck as you have taken right decision, if you can get westindies favorite then you can take bet on pakistan on safe side as both the teams are chokers and cannot believe in betting on one team.

Australia made a very good and highest score on this ground and they are nearly favorite to win this odi.
Sadly i have lost that bet >:(West Indies batter really very poor and looked like they were never in the game and i feel really bad the way they played.
Yes pakishtan bowled well but the west indies batter, lack of intent was clearly showing and some key players were also not playing and they must rethink about their team combination.

West Indies don't deserve to be rated higher than Pakistan in ODIs. I think West Indies will find it difficult to qualify directly for the ODI World Cup. What a fall for a team which ruled the cricketing world in the 1970s and 80s.

Is Blockchain technology all that it is cracked up to be?

http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/small-biz/security-tech/technology/is-blockchain-technology-all-that-it-is-cracked-up-to-be/articleshow/54623944.cms

On October 31, 2008, the then and now pseudonymous inventor of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto published a paper titled "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System". Contained within it was the design for a technology that would not only make the cryptocurrency work, but also proliferate with ease. The Blockchain was formally introduced to the world.

Fast forward approximately three months, and the technology was implemented as open source code. While Bitcoin took a while to come in to its own as a decentralized digital currency, the merits of the underlying Blockchain technology were immediately apparent. With one fell swoop, the technology provided a solution to some of banking's age old, and previously unaddressed challenges.

Blockchains and corruption: To develop its economy, India will have to root out systemic corruption

http://tech.firstpost.com/biztech/blockchains-and-corruption-to-develop-its-economy-india-will-have-to-root-out-systemic-corruption-338098.html

The blockchain technology has been hailed by the World Economic Forum as Technology Pioneer, with many financial experts terming it as “the next best thing after the Internet.” The impact of the new accounting technology is being considered by industry leaders to be as significant as the introduction of double entry in more than 500 years ago. Apart from being faster and more agile than existing systems, blockchains allow transparency in accounting as every transaction is captured in real time. Governments are looking at blockchains as a platform of choice for eGovernance.

Corruption rampant in India
India is low placed in the ease-of-doing-business world rankings, published by World Bank. According to its report 2016, India is placed 130 out of 189 countries. While China is placed at no. 90, Nepal and Sri Lanka have been placed at 99 and 107 rankings, respectively. Moreover, India is ranked 76 out of 175 countries in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index, 2015. The data indicates that systemic corrupt practices are striking at the root of India’s development trajectory and preventing it from realizing its true potential. Ways to devise graft will have to be found if India wants to become the #1 destination for businesses and investment and a safe haven for budding enterprises.

Banks Adopting Blockchain 'Dramatically Faster' Than Expected: IBM

http://profit.ndtv.com/news/tech-media-telecom/article-banks-adopting-blockchain-dramatically-faster-than-expected-ibm-1467746

Banks and other financial institutions are adopting blockchain technology "dramatically faster" than initially expected, with 15 per cent of top global banks intending to roll out full-scale, commercial blockchain products in 2017, IBM said on Wednesday.

The technology company said 65 per cent of banks expected to have blockchain projects in production in three years' time, with larger banks - those with more than 100,000 employees - leading the charge.

IBM, whose findings were based on a survey of 200 banks, said the areas most commonly identified by lenders as ripe for blockchain-based innovation were clearing and settlement, wholesale payments, equity and debt issuance and reference data.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Microsoft team-up for blockchain based financial project

http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/bank-of-america-merrill-lynch-and-microsoft-team-up-for-blockchain-based-financial-project-337710.html

Microsoft and Bank of America Merrill Lynch have joined forces on a project to use blockchain technology to make trade finance transactions faster, cheaper, safer and more transparent, the companies said on Tuesday. The two multinationals said at the Sibos financial services conference in Geneva that they would build and test the technology and create a blockchain-based framework that could eventually be sold to other businesses.

Blockchain works as an electronic record-keeping and transaction-processing system that allows all parties to track information through a secure network and requires no third-party verification. Proponents of the technology, which originates from digital currency bitcoin, say that it will make all kinds of transactions faster, more reliable and easier to audit because it does not require manual processing, nor authentication through intermediaries.

What if 'one click' buying were internet-wide?

http://www.business-standard.com/article/international/what-if-one-click-buying-were-internet-wide-116092700011_1.html

Responding to the frustrations of Berners-Lee and hundreds of millions of online shoppers, the web's governing body, the World Wide Web Consortium, or W3C, has brought together the giants of the internet including Google, Facebook and Apple to fix the clumsiness of paying for things online.

But the bigger goal behind the W3C project is to create a standard, seamless and secure way to pay for things electronically in a future that will most likely include virtual reality stores, chat-based transactions and machines making payments to other machines (an autonomous car paying for a parking spot, for instance).

The standard will also make it easy to include new payment methods like Bitcoin or the Chinese payment provider Tencent.

http://cio.economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/corporate-news/r3-8-banks-successfully-test-intel-blockchain-platform-for-bond-trading/54542760

U.S.-based financial innovation start-up R3 announced on Monday that it and eight banks, including HSBC and State Street, have successfully tested a blockchain platform powered by Intel Corp technology for bond transactions.

The platform featured advanced smart contract technology that enabled trading, matching, and settlement of U.S. Treasury bonds, as well as automated coupon payments and redemption, R3 said in a statement.

Blockchain technology powers the digital currency bitcoin, enabling data sharing across a network of individual computers. It has gained worldwide popularity due to its perceived usefulness in recording and keeping track of assets across practically all industries.

On 19 September, a U.S. federal judge ruled that bitcoins qualify as money. This decision was linked to a criminal case where the accused hacked into the systems of JPMorgan Chase & Co and some other organisations, Reuters reported.

So, if you possess some bitcoins or are planning to venture into this space merely out of curiosity, you need to remember that as of now, crypto-currencies like bitcoins are not regulated in India.

Here is what you should know about bitcoins before you plan to hold some in your wallet. We also look at the regulations, cyber threats and taxation of crypto-currencies.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has mostly been silent on the regulations related to crypto-currencies such as bitcoins, other than sending out a cautionary message in 2013. But that has not restricted the use of crypto-currencies in India.

This is evident from the number of companies that have been launched in the last 3 years, allowing individuals to buy and sell crypto currencies. According to Tracxn, which provides financial information on start-ups: from four such companies in 2013, there are almost 20 in India now.
