Just wanted to update the community on our current developments for the GeoCoin project. We're focusing on adding in HTTPS secure connections to our game interface and also building up our new promotional website which will be available on http://geo.money once it is up and running. We've got some items with our HTML5 web wallet that need to be addressed in order to handle the upcoming UBQ migration. We're working closely with the UBQ devs to make sure this process goes over smoothly. I've posted a few of my own questions I've had in my head to gather their thoughts. I also plan on spreading out some more physical trackables into the geocaching community to help continue the promotion of the GeoCoin project to geocaching.com users. As mentioned in our roadmap announcement our first focus will be on Migrating to the UBQ blockchain. Once we've migrated to the more secure UBQ blockchain it will allow us to focus more time and effort on cool GEO things like our MapBox interface and apps. Sorry we don't have any set dates for you, but we will update our progress here as we continue our developments.

When will Geocoin cover all the places in the world?
There is already GEO dropped all over the world! I saw the map, and it seems like only a thousand or so coins are spawned across the world. Unless the website is not updated. We still cannot collect, can we? All of these coins have been dropped by our community users out of their own generousity. Once we migrate over to the UBQ blockchain we will start dropping the newly minted coins on to the map as well, so with time the numbers will grow! It's best to wait for our MapBox interface to be released before trying to collect. We still have a few backend items that need to be addressed before collecting will be possible once again.

anyway this new idea wouldn't allow geocoin to reach to new heights because now this coin lost its authenticity, as I said earlier this this idea could be impelemented after one year of sustainable using of geocoins but not now. now many people/shops/coins creators etc will win but not geocoin community. I would be really glad if I'm not correct now
Sorry, how have we lost authenticity? We just announced a partnership with UBQ and our plans for future development of this project.

GeoCoin is not an open-source project, the source is closed/private. The fees will be charged in GEO as stated in the roadmap.

Only GEO will be able to mine using Proof of Location, we don't control the specs of other cryptocurrencies. We would like to add the ability to drop others in the future! Hope that helps clear things up.

Here's part 3 of our roadmap, more features coming to GEO in future developments! ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gistutor.com%2Fdemos%2Fgeocoin%2Fgeo_roadmap_p3.jpg&t=663&c=xp_JFmIom3wN1Q)

Devs: How about a secure sign up page?
$50 a year for the cert, it's worth it. Lotta people will not create an account if they have to enter a password that they know will be transmitted un-encrypted.
Yes we're currently working on adding the HTTPS certificate to http://geocoin.cash

Here's part two of the GEO roadmap. Some exciting new features we're planning for our Application Launch. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gistutor.com%2Fdemos%2Fgeocoin%2Fgeo_roadmap_p2.jpg&t=663&c=ZKwEHUsiWApbuw)

We can't pick up GeoCoin yet, can we? My cousin and I drove to a location last night and we couldn't gather it
Is the wallet being locked the reason why?
We're still working through some issues with the HTML5 Web Wallet in the backend and also trying to add in HTTPS for use of the Geolocation API. It is best to wait until the new MapBox interface is up and running before trying to collect any GEO. Stay tuned here or via social media and you will know when we are ready to launch. Thanks again for all your interest and support of the GeoCoin project ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Is Geo now the GPS spoofing protected, or are you still working on that?
We have used some advanced GIS spatial analysis to automatically ban any users who try and spoof their GPS locations. We're currently working through some issues in the backend to allow the use of the Geolocation API once again for GPS location usage, which now requires a secure HTTPS connection. Stay tuned for future updates and developments.

The geo.suprnova.cc pool seems to be up and running on my end, maybe you need to adjust your configurations to connect properly.

We're releasing the full details of our roadmap in a 3 part series. Today was part 1, announcing our partnership with UBQ! Stay tuned here or on social media for Parts 2 and 3 next week. Enjoy your weekend!

Here is the first part of the Roadmap! ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gistutor.com%2Fdemos%2Fgeocoin%2Fgeo_roadmap_p1.jpg&t=663&c=mOINu5P60m710A) By becoming a UBQ token, we enable many exciting features for GEO. The most exciting being Proof-of-Location. After minting GEO through a UBQ smart contract it will be automatically scattered randomly across the world. Say goodbye to mining, its all about exploring now. We also gain the security of the UBQ network by becoming a UBQ token.

Is there any news?
Exciting news coming for GEO tomorrow!

Hi I'm new to this . One question I want to ask is will I find the coin at the geocache location and the amount of coin at each location ? Thank you.
Yes I believe so. Yo, the coins with the big G on the map, are those already dropped? I might go looking for one.
Those are caches I think. Maybe the ones with the physical coins. The larger GEO icons on the map are tracking the last known location of the physical promo items that bounce from geocache to geocache around the world. These coins do not contain any $GEO crypto value, but are useful in advertising to the geocaching.com community which has millions of geocaches worldwide and thousands of geocachers! All the other drops on the map are virtual $GEO which are crypto based. Hope that helps clear it up!

You can do small PR in mean while so price can stay steady. For example you can do like CloakCoin team did. Promise for example 1000 geo-s for one lucky man who retweet one good promotional tweet. You can give more time and you will get plenty of re-tweets..Why not you can stay visible this way, and people will hold..Rethink this doesn't cost you much but can help investors to stay calm, miners won't dump..One tweet.
