461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you like to get paid in Bitcoin? on: December 21, 2014, 12:02:42 AM
Not really. I do somework online for which I get paid in bitcoin. For my fulltime job, I would like to stick with FIAT as that can be used everywhere and bitcoin is still in the adoption phase.
462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thinking about long time investment on: December 21, 2014, 12:01:53 AM
Hi all.

I am fairly new to bitcoins but I know some people that have made alot of money on bitcoins during these years.

So let me introduce myself: I am a guy that have played poker for many years and have made enough money in the peak of online poker but as poker is getting harder I am doing some investments in real life businesses but also thinking to do some investment in stocks and currency. For the currency I have been thinking to invest partially in bitcoins and would like to know the pros and cons of bitcoins and best methodss to trade and be safe. Any links to older posts briefing me into this would be much apriciated.

Thank you guys for your time and hopefully I will be a regular bitcoin talker soon.
Maybe you should not invest in bitcoins for the price. Already a lot of people in it for only investments.
It might go down to 100$ as well, so definitely a very risky investment.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine bans fiat currency on: December 21, 2014, 12:00:29 AM
ukrainians are moving into bitcoin, as are russians .. means price is headed for a major spike
I thought even bitcoins are banned in Ukraine:

464  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin up 10% in 24hrs WHY? One word: RUSSIA on: December 20, 2014, 11:59:37 PM
Also Ukraine has banned fiat or so I read and China has said that private currency can co-exist with govermment issued currency. MS also accepts Bitcoin(indirectly). Either way, all positive news lately, there was just bound to be some rise.
I am still curious what does it mean by Ukraine by banning fiat?
If they did, then what do they  use?

471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Atms on: December 20, 2014, 03:06:32 PM
Bitcoin ATMs are cool, to buy bitcoins for people, not aware of various online services.
It also increases adoption and awareness about bitcoin amongst people.
472  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Shopping on ebay with bitcoin? on: December 20, 2014, 02:54:54 PM
I'm looking a for a reliable service that allows me to order stuff from ebay with bitcoin. Before I used snapcard, they had excellent service and low fees, but they quit a month ago.
Are there any good alternatives?
Convert it to FIAT and buy with it Tongue
THat all4btc site looks like a great alternative for ebay.
473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I spent my Bitcoin. on: December 19, 2014, 05:37:22 AM
Nobody finds it weird that Purse offers around a 20% discount?
I dont think it matters as long as you get your products later.
474  Economy / Speculation / Re: If it goes to $275, are you going to keep faith or just give up save the little. on: December 19, 2014, 05:36:42 AM
BTC has to fall a lot further for it to stop falling if that makes any sense. I've been saying this for a long time now. the numbers are pretty easy to calculate.

3600/coins a day mined at current prices = $1.1 mil. which equates to $33/mil/month. That much money needs to flow into BTC JUST TO BREAK EVEN. Miners and electricity are fawking expensive and they dump the coins to pay the bills.

The reward half will help but that's in 80 weeks! And even then 1600 coins will still be coming out for 4 years. So at current prices that would mean Still another $15/mil a month. This is to just cover the new coins. If anybody spends other coins then more money needs to come in to cover those.

It's really not that hard to see why BTC will be on a downtrend for a long time.
ACtually I heard that all the way from 600 to 300. Its almost impossible to know where it could fall to.
But anything below 300 is kind of a +EV move to invest.
475  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is mining that profitable? on: December 19, 2014, 05:34:52 AM
Hi I'm Mohsen from Iran, I found mining quite interesting and profitable and I have some doubt about it then I join this forum and I want to ask some question before investing.
I did mining with my personal computer with several pools and I noticed that I can invest in antminer s4 and that is quite interesting when I calculated the profit here : https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator
So my research says if I invest any amount in mining devices, I can return my investment in just 4 months. Am I calculating right? Is it that accurate?
I'm Planning to invest on antminer s4, Is there any better option, because right now bitmaintech guys selling 16 units for $14K and I can get 32TH/s with those. also I'm in Iran andd the electricity price is so cheap here, I can register a production company to cut half my electricity price even. But I dont know if they ship units to Iran and the weight is so high its about 250KG.
So what do you think about my plan?

Thank you

Everyone would advice not to get into mining at this stage, specially when the halving is expetd to happen in an year or 2, which is definitely not be profitable for minin.g
476  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining is Gambling? on: December 19, 2014, 05:33:55 AM
Is putting money in the stock market gambling or an investment? I would ask the same question about mining. Hell mining gold and drilling oil is starting to get harder due to falling prices of gold and oil... There is always some inherit form of risk in anything you invest in.

If you are not skilled, putting money in the stock market can be gambling but if you apply the correct reasoning you are likely to win.

It is impossible to predict price now. So we can say that for the most part it is a gamble ..
Maybe by next year, it wouldnt be a gamble once the halving happens.

478  Economy / Gambling / Re: luckyflop.eu wants to know how many people would enter in a 3BTC FREE ROLL! on: December 19, 2014, 05:31:10 AM

479  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 19, 2014, 05:30:43 AM
2014, the year of the trolls, is almost in the books. Hope has faded, interest is all but gone, will 2015 be more of the same? Another year like this one would be difficult, to say the least.
  Sad
Maybe the halving would get the miners away and increase the price.
480  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling My Twitter Account. 96K Followers. on: December 18, 2014, 05:25:15 AM
How much you want selling

Currently I have an offer of about 40 xpy thats $800 since each XPY will = $20
I also have a 2 btc offer. But Best offer gets it.

2 BTC for such an account is a very high price imo.
