461  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your parent disinherit you eventhough you have not proven to be chronic gambler on: November 16, 2023, 09:56:57 PM

There are also many cases in my country where most parents prefer to divert their inheritance to charity activities rather than their children, because there are many incidents where children get into fights just because of inheritance when their parents die, where fighting over inheritance rights will make siblings kill each other, so Because of this, many parents rarely give inheritance rights to their children.

It’s crazy knowing how far people are willing to go so as to be included in the will and given a portion of the wealth of a deceased family member.
It’s sad to see people not willing to work and provide too themselves cause they were privileged to be born with a silver spoon.
Children who bicker and fight over a recently deceased family member’s possessions in a bid to greedily get a large portion of possessions left behind do not deserve such things. Perhaps that’s why such laws exists prohibiting irresponsible children from getting a piece of their parents wealth after they’re gone.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 16, 2023, 05:54:28 PM
There are several reasons why people find it difficult to get business capital easily.
What often happens is because of the capital provider's lack of trust in the borrower, sometimes there is a lack of collateral and a sense of security for the capital provider.
Apart from that, limited access to information and a lack of skills in preparing business proposals make it less attractive to investors.
So if you want to get business capital easily, one thing that can be used as a reference is to increase your trust in business capital providers.

Trust has little to do with taking loans from a bank. It’s more like the lack of financial credibility from the loan applicant as the bank wouldn’t believe the applicant could pay back the loan at the stipulated time.
Applying for a loan for a business is serious business as no one would be willing to invest in a pipe dream.

I agree with you on the need for information and need to make proper research in preparing a business proposal. A good number of applicants don’t take their proposals and presentations on their ideas seriously and the lender would end up not being interested irrespective of how viable the business may seem.

~snip~
Stats are for people who want to present or have a detailed report on something and while I’m yet to meet someone who would want to be continuously updated on the sizable chunk of money he has lost overtime compared to peanuts he most likely felt really happy to have won, there may actually be some people who have and keep such detailed report of their gambling history for whatever reasons.
I think the average gambler which includes the group of gamblers who play for recreational purposes as well as those who aren’t frequent and play at random could care less for records of their gambling which would probably show more loses than wins.

Yes, spot on.

The whole gambling thing is about not thinking about it too much. That's also why in casinos they don't have windows or clocks anywhere, they don't want you to realize how much time you have been in there.

It's a bit like being in a different reality, controlled by the casino. And when the gambler wakes up, sometimes they find themselves in a very different reality.

Overthinking it could sometimes take away all the fun out of it and anxiety slowly replaces the feeling of excitement that was initially there. And that’s why I think people dream up notions about the possibility of earning an income from gambling.

Casinos, being in business to make profit, is not really different from any business that has profit oriented goals. would create a suitable environment for anyone willing to gamble. After all, it’s only natural for businesses to be innovative and want to provide the best environment for customers.
I must admit. Not having clocks or windows so people wouldn’t be time conscious would go a long way in making people stay much longer and spend more money.
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 15, 2023, 11:59:13 PM
I have seen many of these kinds of things in gambling shops in my country where gamblers will beg the cashier on the computer system to help them beg for credits that they will go and bring money from home, but all is a lie. At last, the cashier will be the one running after them to collect their money, and some of them will even run away and never visit the play again unless they find a way to get him or her. So with my experience as a gambler, learning money will be a very big risk.

In cases like this, the cashier is likely the last person to run after defaulting clients to get them to repay their loans. Most times and like banks, there is some sort of collateral in exchange for the loan and in the case of a default, the collateral is promptly seized.
In some cases where the loan shark was so lovely and understanding to give you a non collateral loan, you can be sure these people have their not so pleasant means of getting their money back. Certainly not a business suitable for just anyone.
465  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 15, 2023, 11:40:53 PM
The first step is thinking of a business opportunity in your immediate community. The next part which is a bit tricky is getting the required capital to kick start your business. An initial capital is not a small amount and a lot of people, not having such sums themselves, turn to other sources for a loan.

The bank, which could be said to be the source most people turn to when looking for a business loan would have to be convinced about the viability of the startup. They, not being so hopelessly optimistic about the prospects of your business being a success would scrutinize your proposal carefully so as not to have a bad debt later on.
You’ve convinced yourself on how successful the business is going to be. Irrespective of the source for the loan, you’ve got to convince the other party as well. No one or financial institution is eager to fund just any project and likely lose money later.

If it were only that easy to first comfortably have some huge amount of money just sitting around in your account and then use that money and invest in some business and start making profits.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your parent disinherit you eventhough you have not proven to be chronic gambler on: November 15, 2023, 11:01:02 PM
The government already has a considerable and quite worrying influence on the choices and decisions of its citizens. The idea of them butting in and limiting your options on who you can include in your will is crazy. It’s simply not the governments business to dictate the eligibility of people in a will as an individual should have the right to put and take away  on his will, whoever he chooses.

Could a will be challenged in court? Isn’t the will supposed to be like an open and shut thing? If nothing was willed to you, you get nothing.
467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: November 15, 2023, 10:39:47 PM
That's how I see it too. People who lose more than they win will not want to see these statistics anyway. What about people who gamble very little for fun. Is holding such stats where it says that you gambled away $50 last month change anything, when your monthly income is $3k?
IMO stats are for people who really want to make money and their gambling journey is focused on that. I doubt that your average slots player who does a few rolls on his way from work home cares if they won %10 today or lost $5.

468  Economy / Economics / Re: Are You Sticking to Your Plan or Has Life Made You Pause or Modify It? on: November 15, 2023, 09:50:41 PM
A plan, no matter how much thought was put into it before it was carefully put together for implementation is always open to change. Whenever we plan for the future, we should make our plans more flexible as the future is yet unknown making your plans open to failure.
Of course, adamantly sticking to a plan made for the short/long term future would be challenging as unforeseen circumstances could that wasn’t thought about nor planned for could arise threatening the feasibility of the plans.
I’ve had to change already made plans midway through as things weren’t going as hoped/planned out and needed some changes to the original plan.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 15, 2023, 09:24:48 PM
When the player is under contract with the club, then even if the player does not want to leave but the club wants to sell him, then it will definitely happen transfer. now I also see Arnold is one of the important players for Liverpool and honestly I also see Liverpool will consider with long consideration if then they think of selling him. For now the possibility of him staying at Liverpool is still very large, but when the offer comes and the amount is tempting, then it also does not rule out the possibility of changing their decision in the end, either from the side of the player or the club.

When you’ve awakened to the point that football could be considered more of a business than a sport for entertainment, then you won’t be so surprised by clubs letting go of top players that is still relevant and could still perform well in the squad for the right price.
Admittedly, that money would probably be used to bolster whatever position seen to be underperforming in the squad. For the right amount, a club could be willing to let go of its top players. Especially if the club is not adequately funded and needs all the money it can get.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 15, 2023, 09:08:48 PM
Well, you’re literally copying a bunch of other peoples  games having little hopes to extremely high and unrealistic ones. You’re not the only one that do this as a lot of gamblers copy and replay bets from supposedly high profile gamblers to replay.

I think it’s quite absurd to place destiny and gambling together. In gambling, it’s more of luck and skill than destiny in my opinion. There are people who’ve won bets, having copied wholly/edit games to play from someone else. I don’t think there’s any big deal to that.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: November 14, 2023, 10:40:06 PM
How do I take advantages over the gambles while I am not gambling anymore?
I tend to invest in the gambling. How?
At my visits in the gambling grounds, I will be lending my funds to the losers who has run out of  funds and willing to bet more if they have more money.
I tends to make this a deal with interest charges with concrete agreement to be secured and I will be opened to also accepting collaterals.

I verily know that I will succeed more of the inexperienced and those gamblers who doesn't have gambling budgets including those who can't take control over their gambling emotions

You should have a rethink on your decision as while it could bring about losses as well. Any start up is difficult to start and yours wouldn’t be any different. If anything, it would be more difficult to start and manage.
In order words, you can be considered as a loan shark who prey on the ignorant and others who, having made poor financial decisions, are in a fix and needs quick funds.

Your clients that you would give loans to won’t be credit worthy and you run the huge risk of running at a loss. Unless of course you’ve got some means of making broke people have money to pay back their loans.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 14, 2023, 11:33:15 AM
The draw against City should make them even more motivated to play better and win the next match because Newcastle is waiting for them at St James' Park.
I will not be surprised if Chelsea can beat Newcastle because many of their good players are currently injured e.g. Wilson, Isak, Botman, and Barnes, Tonali will out for a season too.

The four forward players in Chelsea which consist of: Jackson, Gallagher, Palmer and Sterling seems working. I believe Pochettino will use this lineup for their next and future matches until they suffer lose streaks.

Chelsea had put up a really good fight in the game played against Manchester City earlier and following that performance, I also wouldn’t be surprised anymore to see Chelsea have a win over Newcastle keeping aside the fact that they’ve got players currently nursing their injuries. The tie match in the  game against Manchester City would be a morale booster to the team.
Not everyone can withstand the pressure Man City brings in their games and would end up losing to Man City’s superiority. Chelsea wasn’t intimidated by any of that and it was proved by the goals from both sides.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 14, 2023, 08:38:44 AM
It is temporary, and those benefits listed is definitely going to be experienced only when you're gambling so it's not that much of a benefit at all. There's other stress relievers out there! Gambling shouldn't be the go-to thing for that kind of stuff, has anyone here heard of videogames? Some of us definitely have the money to buy a decent computer to play games or buy a PlayStation 5 or an XBox so you can play games that will relieve your stress, sure you have spent some money setting those up but compare that to gambling, the money you have spent you would be thankful that you have made the choice to set up a gaming stuff instead of just gambling.

The recreational activities you enjoy doing is definitely not the same as the next person. There are lots of things can be considered a stress reliever and for some, gambling may help relive stress cause they enjoy doing it.
You love gaming and your worries are temporarily forgotten when you play games on your console. Some people like and see gambling as an activity that could relieve stress and others like you don’t.

Comparing the funds spent in gambling and in getting a gaming console is irrelevant. For some, it’s not about the money. It’s more about the activity enjoyed than the funds spent.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 10, 2023, 03:20:15 PM
You can only reap the health benefits of gambling if you're gambling responsibly and there's no pressure to win when you deviate from this you will feel the pressure to make money which will result in headaches and depression.
Our doctors recommend that we do all things moderately and we should do things in good spirits you can do this in gambling if understand the fact that you cannot win all the time in gambling and your chances are when you're lucky.
So next time you are in front of a gambling table or dashboard be sure to have fun enjoy the game and don't mind about the profit you will feel fine and enjoy the health benefits that come from gambling.

There is no actual health benefit to be gotten by most people from gambling. People who play recreationally and for fun would probably have some stress relieved from their bodies as they’re doing something they enjoy doing.
This isn’t the case for everyone as people gamble for fun as well as a host of other reasons. I think any stress free pastime activity that an individual enjoys doing would naturally relieve stress in that person. These health benefits are not beneficial for everyone and not solely gotten from gambling as an activity.
475  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 10, 2023, 02:57:00 PM
Yes, exactly. Everyone's interpretation of financial freedom will definitely be different. Many of those who have expensive items must have thought carefully about it even though they bought perfume at an expensive price. Most people like that are billionaires, they also sometimes buy other luxury goods such as watches, cars but they are investing large amounts because they believe the investment will be successful and get big profits from the investment. They think ahead.

However, there are also people who say financial freedom has a different meaning, time is a luxury. not everyone has a lot of free time for themselves. So, if you achieve financial freedom, you will be free from earning money. So it is very important to have the concept that money will bring other money. Apart from frugal living, what must be improved is passive income

Luxury goods are there to distinguish the rich and wealthy from the middle and lower class and only the rich and wealthy are able to afford such products without having to worry about the price being a problem. Wealthy people have investments that continuously bring in income. Without investments that would bring in steady revenue, someone cannot be truly wealthy.

They say time is luxury. I say for some and for others, to an extent. We all know the clock is continuing ticking, waiting for no one. A Prisoner, having been incarcerated have had their time and freedom cut short as a form of punishment. They’ve got all the time but most wouldn’t consider that to be a luxury. Lots of people have a lot of time and energy and are still not being productive.
476  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: November 10, 2023, 02:32:39 PM
Is making purchases without knowing or checking the price of some products seen as a rich thing? One thing is for sure, the price of a product is one thing that’s always talked about in a trade. Even billionaires are aware of the price of their latest yacht. Some even seem to be proud of its build and worth and flaunt its price every opportunity they can get.

Although, there are some people that actually can’t be bothered about the price of goods whenever they go shopping. They are certain the total amount of the purchase won’t make a budge in their pocket.
It’s sad that people go to extra lengths to let the society know how rich and wealthy they are while living hand to mouth in reality.

I also agree with you that Manchester United is not strong enough to be able to compete with other teams if they qualify for the round of 16. The quality of their game was very bad, if you look at the matches they played in the group phase.
Of course they played without having any target they wanted. The next two match will be quite tough for them, especially against Galatasaray and Bayern Munich.

With their performance displayed so far in this competition, it’s clear to me that they wouldn’t be able to comfortably play and compete with other teams in the round of 16 if they manage to qualify. There is simply very little support from supporters I’m aware in their quest for the champions league trophy.
They had initially looked really good in their away game with Copenhagen. I had thought the game would be quite difficult but Man United would emerge victorious. I was dead wrong.
With Bayern, I just can’t count on Man United for a win. With Galatasaray, I don’t have much hopes either.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice for new comers on: November 10, 2023, 12:26:23 AM
Gambling with crypto or with fiat currency has one major thing in common. You’re using funds to place bets. So it’s pretty much the same advice you could give anyone new to gambling irrespective of whatever means of payment is being used.

Gambling is not any means of making money. This is where the addiction start.
Gambling is fun, if you can continue to gamble responsibly.
Have a gambling budget and do not let it be more than 5% of your weekly income
Control your emotion. If you lose for the day, stop gambling. Do not be tempted.

I think this needs to be repeated continuously so people would know and have it on their minds whenever they gamble. There has been threads on this board which after going through them, one would easily conclude that there are people that really do see gambling as a means of earning an income. This is truly where addiction slowly creeps in. Gambling can be fun if you’re responsible and also sensible with your finances.

When there isn’t any pressure to earn an income from gambling, there wouldn’t be any pressure to play more after losing repeatedly in a bid to win back money lost. No pressure to go borrowing from wherever whenever your finances start depleting.

480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: November 09, 2023, 11:59:03 PM
safest thing is just to plan from home to bring enough money to gamble and keep in mind to appreciate money, no matter how small. indeed gambling addicts will not think about this no matter how much money they bring to gamble but as a regular gambler it is better to always remember how gambling works just to have fun so you don't need to bring too much money to gambling and don't need to follow other friends gambling styles. .

A lot of people do seem to copy or imitate another persons playing style and capabilities. They wouldn’t mind or are plain ignorant of the financial strength of such people and would copy them at their own detriment.
This could make one place bets with much more money than they can comfortably afford and when they end up losing such amount, there is the urgent need to try and get such funds back and the individual would end up spending more money than initially planned.
It’s safest to plan and actually stick to said plans whenever there is something that warrants spending money.
