Interesting idea...

Interesting that you've been inactive since March 2013. Did you buy this account?

Did you hack this account? FTFY
It is probably an account for sale (or a sold account). I think he is trying to build up his post count so he can get a higher activity level to make it more valuable. It is not my account so I cannot say for sure one way or another if it is hacked.

No thanks. Good luck.
463  Economy / Auctions / Re: amazon giftcard $180 for auction on: November 04, 2014, 04:54:59 PM
Escrow? are you able to prove you purchased the gift card via legit means?

the giftcard was from contest winning

if you want escrow-10%discount i.e you need to pay $162 in btc

but if you trust me,you can use buy it now or bid to win
what is the reason you would want to discourage the use of escrow like this? You have zero positive trust so there is no reason to trust you and it does not cost you 10% to use escrow.

bump. Inventory updated today

Newbie accounts? Seriously? You can just register a few and then post a few posts, and there you go: on sale for BTC0.02!
They can become member accounts once they make at least 60 posts each so they are not "normal" newbie accounts.

How aren't they normal? I thought all accounts are equal, you have to wait 2 week intervals for 14 activities.
They did not make 14 posts in each two week period, they made less. Your activity is calculated as the minimum of either the number of posts or the number of two week periods they have posted in times 14

I don't think that is true. If you miss out on activities, you miss out and never get it back again.
It is true. A good explanation as to how activity works can be found on this thread.

You should report the OP if what he is doing is clearly illegal. (I am not personally familiar with MSDN keys so I cannot speak on the legality issue). The thread will likely get deleted if this is illegal which will be much more effective then giving the OP negative trust.

some people are complaining that they can't enroll the bitmixer campaign because it is full now

I am getting an error message saying the program is closed to new participants.

Anyone else getting same message?
They have not publicly confirmed that the campaign is closed to new members however it appears to be closed. Probably because too many people were using it and making zero posts.
469  Other / Meta / Re: Banned users shouldn't be able to leave feedback on: November 03, 2014, 07:34:13 PM
I guess you do have a good point about restricting what they should be able to do while banned. Although I think a banned user should be able to post in meta if they are banned to be able to dispute a ban, this would stop badbear from having to explain why someone was correctly banned (the community could just point to their crappy posts) but this is a different discussion.

I would say there is an argument both ways. On one side you should restrict what someone can do while banned as much as possible and leaving negative feedback could get a mod to unban a user in an effort to work out the negative feedback.

On the other hand the forum takes a very liberal stance as to what is allowed for feedback to avoid the appearance of helping a potential scam. As well as the fact that someone could have actually gotten scammed right before getting banned so they should be able to warn others.
470  Other / Meta / Re: Banned users shouldn't be able to leave feedback on: November 03, 2014, 07:06:15 PM
Well what would be the difference between a banned user sending false feedback and someone creating a new account and leaving false feedback? At least with a banned user leaving false feedback you can easily speak to the reason for the feedback while this would be more difficult if it was a newly created account via tor/vpn (no IP connection between the two accounts can be made).
471  Other / Meta / Re: Banned users shouldn't be able to leave feedback on: November 03, 2014, 06:44:01 PM
The feedback from ladybitcoin isn't even correct. It is my understanding that staff doesn't even ban anyone (except newbies?) and anyone that knows this fact would know the feedback is invalid.

It is possible that someone were to get scammed right before they are banned plus someone could create a new account and leave feedback. (Trust is not moderated).

Personally I would look at your overall feedback and consider you trustworthy so I wouldn't worry about it.

474  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Whats a good paying forum signature ad I can use? on: November 03, 2014, 02:43:20 AM
I would suggest checking out this thread. It is kept up to date with all the current signature deals.

There are generally few sig deals available for members out there, but they do pop up every now and then.

Would like to only trade with trusted positive reputation members. Post below.

I'm interested. What do you offer?

Exchange rate of .0051 drk/btc. Up to 1000 drk. BTC sent to an address, once it's confirmed 3 times, I'll send the DRK to your address. Finally, we leave each other positive rep.
You should use an exchange for DRK. There is no real reason why you would need to use the currency exchange subforum other then the fact that you are trying to get positive reputation. (you will likely end up getting negative reputation in the process).

The only reason that I am trading on here is to get positive reputation. All my rep so far is from non trusted rep members. If you do a search on my name, I'm trusted in the Darkcoin community. I'll trade first if the person is reputable.
That kind of activity is very frowned upon in this community. I would strongly suggest that you lock this thread and close the offer ASAP

I didn't realize this was frowned upon; why is it?

As it is now, I'm conducting a trade with alabamafan1 for 1.5 BTC. I sent first with no escrow. of 48.1 dark.

It is fowned upon because you are essentially buying trust. If you buy trust then it makes it easier for you to scam in the future.

If you sent first to someone who has essentially zero trusted trust, then there is a very good risk that you will get scammed, you should either use escrow or trade in much smaller tranches (I don't know why you would not use escrow as it is free).
