461  Economy / Gambling discussion / gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: January 26, 2024, 03:05:07 PM
I have read a lot of thread on this board talking about the need to gamble responsibly and suggesting that gambling is meant to be done for fun and not to be seen as a means of livelihood. While this is theoretically alright, in the reality so many persons actually gamble because they want to get some financial top up from the gamble.

What is mostly common in my neighborhood and that I mostly do is soccer betting and if I am not exaggerating, 90% of the people that do soccer betting do do because they want to win money.

They can watch the match for fun but as long as it involved them paying money before gambling, most persons don't normally see it as fun and this is the reason why after placing a particular bet, if the game isn't successful they continue betting hoping to get a win along the way thervy being seen as addict.

Do you really see gambling as more of fun than a means to a financial end?

how much can you put into gambling before it removes the fun aspect of gambling out of it?
462  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Older men vs Younger boys in gambling, Which enjoys Gambling for fun the more? on: January 26, 2024, 02:55:08 PM
Hi gamblers,

So, a particular discussion on the gambling board which I am part of; actually put this question into my head, and I thought I should ask the gambling community here, so we could possibly have some fun discussion it.

And the question is very simple, Between the older men (talking of from 60 years old and above), and younger men (talking of from 18 to 45 years of age) which of this category of men actually gamble for fun the more?

If I was to answer this question, I did say that the older men are more likely to be gambling for fun, than the younger men, and this is due to several reasons which I am not going to mention yet, but will see users who share in this same view of mine will be able to also come up with same reasons.

So, feel free guys and ladies, lets discuss.
when it comes to who loves gambling more and making comparison between the older or younger men, it would have been easy to say that it all depends on the individuals involved but in reality, we see that most young men tend to look at gambling as a means to an end and because they feel they are good in analysis of games, they normally gamble hoping that they will get a win at the end of the day. The older men on the other hand because of this level of experience and exposure might not really look much into always getting a financial incentive from the gambling and might just do it to keep themselves busy and catch up on old memories.

Outside of this, enjoying gambling is totally a personal thing and a younger or older person can love or choose not to even gamble at all
463  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: My idea on business strategy on: January 26, 2024, 07:41:20 AM
It is very important as a business person to strategize your business perfectly before taking action, today so many people have failed to become successful business men and women not because the business is not a good one or it does not give you profit but their are some little factors that can hinder a business..
SIGHT: Some people have a nice business but they don't sell out any of their goods months in months out what they have still remains with them most times they will tell you that somebody is manipulating them Omo nothing Is wrong check your location if it's not good change it.

Greed: Many people are very greedy when it comes to business they look for over gain this factor can hinder a business some people would have this goods that are getting bad for consumption but still keep it to be sold till it gets bad and at last it will be thrown away, who lost.

Every business person should learn how to strategize so well before going to set up a business.

sorting for the right location of s business is as important as starting the business itself. If you make wrong decision as it regards the place you are situating your business, you might end of locating business in an area that isn't viable for the kind of device you are rendering. But before considering the location of your business, I feel that the most important thing is to look out for your primary customers. Your primary customers could be those individual that you're certain will patronize you in the chosen location based on their unmet need. It would be foolish to start up a printing press in an environment that is not close to an institution or in an area where he demand of printed material is in high demand so for me, the inability to first of all study the need of an environment is the root course of business failure.

Another major factor is the lack of consistency. People usually treat their customers well during those time the business just started but after a while they start doing I don't care with their customers. One had to understand that what keeps a business running for long is those customers that will always come back to your business for any of their intended purchase and as long as you loose them out because of overfamiliarity wit them, you business will start going down if care is not taken
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 25, 2024, 09:32:06 PM
. Osimhen had been quoted to say he would score in the encounter, I wonder how, seeing he only has one goal to his name.
considering his performance at the group stage and his inability to scoring a good number of goals, it's going to be jars for him to play well in the knockout stage because a lot of pressure and expectation will be in him and he wouldn't be relaxed enough to play the game effectively. But on the other hand, osimehn is very good at taking up challenge and I wouldn't be surprised to see him scoring against Cameronian team but we also need not underestimate the camoronian side because they are true fighter and don't give up all that easily. If abubakar is going to play in that match then Nigeria might not be proceeding above Saturday in the Afcon.

Th this is the game of football, anything can happen and either Nigeria or Cameron could win the match
465  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Do not overwork yourself on: January 25, 2024, 01:54:29 PM
Utilize your body for retirement so that you can fit in to handle your other phases in life of chasing income at your depreciations of man-power to activeness.
So many people are too eager uncontrollably chasing after income without undermining their ages and so as considering the health fitness of themselves at ages.
mehn! It's difficult to to control yourself as long as you're making money out of what you're doing oh. Normally we all know that health is necessary but as the country hard like eh, anything when you de do when we bring money come your table, people de wan hold am tight and follow am up as e de hot make after some time them no hear say the money no de come from that source again oh.

Another thing you should also understand is that old age will certainly come and you wouldn't have this strength that you have now to hustle when it finally comes and for that reason, so many persons see it as a necessity to use this moment when they are still young to hustle and invest into as many things as they can so they can retire early and wouldn't need to work till their fifties or sixties.

My advice is that if you're still very young, probably in your twenties, use that period to work and creat reasonable investment oh, if you too reason your health too much na that time when sickness go even come board oh, no be like say you go kill yourself say you de work hard but just no allow any form of satisfaction say you don get small money make you relax boss, de fire down stil de take one or two drugs when go help strengthen your system so you fit de more productive.

E no go de bad if you retire at 40 oh.
466  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How much knowledge is enough to satisfy an individual on: January 25, 2024, 01:42:14 PM
However, I will be very glad if someone can highlight more on this and educate me more thanks .
like you've already pointed out, human want is insatiable and after you've been able to attain a particular height in a given field, the next thing that comes to your mind is how to become better at the stage you're now after which you work on how to go to the next stage.

One major factor that wouldn't give you rest of mind at every stage of your life is the knowledge that their are better privileges at the too and that if you can only put in additional effort, it will take a little time before you finally get to the top. Normally, it's actually crowded at the bottom but and their is a lot of opportunities at the top so everyone want to grow out of the crowd at the bottom so as to enjoy the privileges that abound at the top.

Using this forum as an instance, everyday people join the forum and the thing in their mind is to rank up to become full member of of the forum and if as someone that's a full member already you become contended withe your current state, it would only take time before you will see people that had no merit while you where a full member climbing to join you at that rank and might even leave you behind to become a senior member of the forum.

Striving to become better both in terms of knowledge, finance, recognition or whatever you can think of isn't out of place but you shouldn't allow it becloud your mind such that you only chase it at the negligence of your personal joy and live the whole of your life pursuing after them. The truth is that pursuing all of these things alone will give you an unbalanced life if you don't give yourself the needed time to working on your personal life to become more of a person than a clout chaser.
467  Other / Meta / Re: Other Forum members are more civil than Legendary members, Why? on: January 25, 2024, 01:27:31 PM
Do we agree that it is a feeling of pride that they have superior knowledge on issues than others because of their ranking?
this is a public forum that comprises of individual with different background and their mode of response to issues differs.

I some newbies reacting negatively asking that his account be deleted just because he feels some things going on in the forum doesn't go down well with him. Should we now conclude that all newbies are impatience with their growth in the forum just because one of the newbie misbehaved in the forum?

If for any reason you've seen a legendary member of the forum react in an abusive way toward you or any lower ranked member, it's possible that because they've stayed long in the forum, they've seen attitude like that of the newbie constantly repeating itself in the forum and at some point, it will get to them and they might react negatively. I'm not justify their action but I feel it's normal even in the circular world for an elder to correct the younger and in the process of rendering the correction, some elders might resort in the use of force or abusive means to correct the younger person. You are not to be totally angry at them but you're to understand that the Essene of the statement is to correct you and make you a better member of the forum.
468  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 24, 2024, 06:55:29 PM
So, we all know how important skills are not only on an individual basis but also on that of the economy, and many of us without doubt are either in the process of learning or already earning from skills.
the different between people that are employed and those that are still complaint of lack of job is basically the difference in the skill they have. And let's make this clear that being skilled could basically be in two format. You could become a master at a relevant skill which you will be practicing while you learn other sub skills that will make you relevant in the global stage in general.

Of of the reason also why developed nation will continue to do better than developing nation is because the developer nations ensure that their youth are well skilled so they wouldn't need to get a particular service from an outside person in the future. The developing country on the other hand depends more on the will set from an outsider and would pay huge amount of money to get expert from an outside country instead of training people in their locality to become skilled at the said field.

If you're skilled, no matter the rate of unemployment in your country or the rate of corruption involved before one can secure a job, you will always be sort after for a job and wouldn't be among the unemployed at all.

469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 24, 2024, 06:44:31 PM
How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.
the question you should ask yourself is if their is another thing that gives you joy outside of gambling. The only reason why you could be facing this situation is possibly because you don't have a serious job you're doing they is taking a good amount of your time if not you wouldn't even have that time to think on making it a must that you have to recover a money that is lost in the process of gambling.

It's a bad habit and you have to discipline yourself to know that gambling isn't a job and you shouldn't expect that you are always going to double your money after you've placed any bet. as a matter of fact, the best way to gamble is to do it at your own pace, financial strength and convenience. once you are going about gambling as though your financial success depends on it, you've successfully endangered yourself to becoming a serious addict.
470  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need to control your emotions as a football fan. on: January 24, 2024, 06:37:12 PM
The Ghanaian national team drew against mozambique, and the entire Ghanaian fans and press team where outraged by the performance of their black star's. in their minds eye they feel the Mozambique team where a weaker side for them to win and qualify for the next round, but rather they drew 2-2 and crashed out of the AFCON competition.
One press man was vigorously abusing the Ghanaian coach as he was walking pass them, calling him unprintable names.
As gambler and a football fan, it most appropriate for you to always show a good level of emotional intelligence whenever results doesn't go your way, because that's the spirit of sportsmanship,
The results must not always go your way as a gambler, you will lose some and you will win some.

https://x.com/FinaNapoleon/status/1749572663058518185?s=20
its funny how people assume that football is won by how big a team his or how popular a county his. No Country came to the afcon for the purpose of catching cruise or to allow their opponent win them just like that. The same way Ghanaians want to qualify for the next round of the tournament is the same way their opponent want it also it's just whichever team that put in the needed work that end up winning the match at the end of the day.

Talking about the reactions of the Ghanian fans towards their team, it's normal for them to react badly because some of them paid huge some of money just to witness the game only to see that  they could not win a single game till they were sent out of the tournament. It's enough reading to be angry but for a journalist to publicly rain insult on the national team coach is uncalled for and very unprofessional of him.
471  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Can naira earners keep up with their BTC pursuit. on: January 24, 2024, 06:17:01 PM
The value of naira obviously have negative effect on anyone making purchase with a currency higher in value than ours and this has affecting so many persons that intend accumulating bitcoin but are being paid in naira. I can't even imagine converting my fiat naira to dollar and then using it to buy Bitcoin because the value would reduce in a very discouraging manner.

The best way to go about bitcoin accumulation using any known method is to make it a necessity that you're earning in a currency that is higher in value than naira so after you've accumulated to a reasonable amount and and you want to sell it out it would be of insubstantial amount.

Another easier way is that if you join a particular campaign on the forum, you can decide to HODL all your payment while using the alternative money you're getting to run your day to day activity.
472  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why Celebrity Marriages Dey Quick Break for Naija? on: January 24, 2024, 02:06:10 PM
Normally when two career-driven individuals come together as husband and wife, it's very difficult forbthe marriage to last long because most of the time, they will both focus on their individual works and might not be able to take care of the home as they ought to.

Most marriages that breaks easily involves the two parties being public figures and at the same time paying attention to what the public are saying. If a celebrity marries someone that isn't in the public space, it's very rear before they break up and this has nothing I do with other normal factors that can course couples to break up o.

Another serious factor that courses celebrity marriage to break up is unnecessary comparison, intense cheating from both parties and also when one of the parties mostly the men decides that the wife should slow down in chasing her career and focus in building the home.  Any marriage that none of the people involved want to compromise their belief system or work routine for the other, the chances of the marriage working id very slim and this is one of the major course of failed marriage among celebrity.
473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 23, 2024, 11:56:12 AM
Some of the temptations that can come up include but not limited to the pressure of trying to sell when the portfolio becomes too big. There is a way the money will grow and we begin to imagine what we could achieve with it, this is where the temptation of selling come from.

yeah! Apart from wondering what one can do with our accumulation when our portfolio becomes too big, the security of our holdings could Also become a measure factor that could make us sell off our holdings. With the increase numbers oh hackers looking for ways to get access to our holding, accumulating much of bitcoin could be a bit tough because when you begin to reason the trauma you might go through if for any reason your holding is lost to scammers can just make you sell off part of your holding so you wouldn't loose all your accumulation.

Furthermore, I have seen a case of someone using the funds for DCA in buying something else. His emergency fund got exhausted and he needed more money for his needs. This is one of those things that can come up even when you think you have got everything planned out.

apart from cases of serious emergency, it's unreasonable to sell of your investment just for the purchase of things that can be pushed forward and later bought in the future. The only thing that is worth selling your investment for should associated to the health, safety and security of yourselves or your love ones and apart from this, a good investor would learn or make it an habit to control how he react to his wants.

The thing we have to understand is that wants must always come and it gets even worse when we know that we have the means of satisfying those desires. It will seems as though you are starving yourself of certain privileges but in the real sense, you should always remind yourself that you have a target to meet and that those spending can always come later after you've met your target.

For you to get the best of your holding, you need to be strict enough to deal with your holding as if it is not your own and that the owner wouldn't want you to sell it out for any reason if not, you will only be able to HODL for a small period of time before something will come up to make you sell of your holdings.
474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling and religious restrictions on: January 23, 2024, 10:30:48 AM
Most religious belief kicks against gambling and regardless of the guise you used in going about the act, it doesn't disprove the fact that you've actually rebel against your religious belief.

From my level of knowledge on general religious beliefs, their is a supernatural force that monitors the activities of her fellows and knows whatever they do both in the secret and the open and so using cryptocurrency as a method of gambling doesn't in any way suggest that the God you believe in doesn't see that you have gambled.

Outside of that, their is still serious argument among most religious folks regarding the topic of gambling being bad or not or if it should be practiced or not and even at the present, their are lots of religious people than still gamble publicly because of their believe system.
475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 23, 2024, 10:23:20 AM
Yesterday, when I was playing Crash, I have caught myself thinking that I watch on how much people bet, how much they won and lose. First I have felt envy, when I saw one guy bet 200-300 bucks all the time for half and hour and cashed out with 2+ multiplier. Among bets in range of 1 sat to a dollar, he was really standing out. Then I have noticed a guy who was betting a dollar and did not cash out until rocket passes 10x. I was also amazed how a guy bet 1k, and lost it when the rocket banged at 1.00x, then he immediately made another 1k bet and the rocket banged at 1.03x. Then I saw him winning +5k bucks.

That is how the idea of this topic appeared. I watch others gamble, I watch how the bet, I start to think about betting more than usually. Do you have such feeling also? Do you have a feeling that if others make large bets, that you also must bet large, otherwise you would feel like uncomfortable, or feel like a poor among rich, or something of that kind.
its a normal feeling to push yourself a bit harder in whatever you're doing when you see others that are into the same thing with you being more profitable than yourself but you have to be matured with how you go about comparing yourself with them.

Their is no guarantee that if you stake more that you will have better result so the best thing you can do for yourself as a responsible gamer is to plan your gambling routine and the maximum minimum amount you can work with on a daily bases regardless of the turnover of the game.

You should also understand your financial strength with relation to that of the person you are comparing yourself with so you wouldn't try to use your average income to make a comparison with someone that is already established in a business or firm and that can withstand certain loss.

476  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: I'm Starting To Believe The Notion That The Average Nigerian Man Is Angry on: January 23, 2024, 10:10:59 AM
This is one of the reasons why you shouldn't take whatever people utter at you in the public seriously because most of them are going through a lot and anybody that comes in their way becomes the closest victim to transfer their aggression on.

The average Nigerian is not just angry but frustrated at every thing and the ones that are a bit calm have accepted the situation of things or the level of frustration has made them speechless. Can we really point at anything that is really working in this country that you will say if I get to this place now I will have peace of mind?

To bord a public transport is war and even after successfully getting one, traffic will become too bad that you might miss out on an appointment. You go to the market and look at how frustrated people are. School nkor, what of the hospital when even the nurses and doctors that are supposed to be friendly have become too harsh on their patient that they will even prefer someone to die in their hospital than treating the person before asking of deposit. The police self no get joy and if we want de bring up the list the matter go long wetin no nice.

It's a serious situation we've found ourselves and the high rate of angry individual we have on the street is the reason why once you see two people exchanging small argument, the next thing you see is the use of violence and weapons to satrb themselves and most of them are not just angry with what the person they starbed did to them but the accumulation of their frustration will make them take any rash decision at that moment.

Knowing this, as you walk on the street and relate with strangers on the street, no go de follow people de do who goes you or be asking questions like "what can you do" people when de like say them normal but they go through real hell plenty for the street and for them not to transfer aggression on you, you go use your head and mind your business while relating with strangers on the street make you for no become victim and we go de sing No more No more oh!
477  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why little things are always hard to handle on: January 23, 2024, 09:52:43 AM
My people l greet oo this thing keep ringing in my heart despite not being a crypto matter, why is it that little things are always difficult to handle most time it curse more pain and hardship compare when handling big thing. I was called upon to do maintenance work just small money but i passed through hell if not God all I charge enter plus the pains I pass through even fresh job can't give me such sorrow. I come they think outside the box like ordinary person to console my self using one tiny rat that always run around people's home it passes any tiny hire or opening very difficult to killed, that is like small job may be difficult as well have nothing to offer, can this my view be correct, please chok mouth.
you don hear this capping say person when go help you no go stress you? na so the matters be ohh! Work when de pay now normally no be work when de stress person and this one de applicable to why some small things de always appear difficult compare big things.

As  a technician, you should have known that a maintenance job is always more difficult than doing a job from scratch. Thier are some persons that don't even take maintenance jobs because of the stress they come with. Most times what they call you for is always different  from the actual problem of the stuff youre working on and you have to pass through the stress of doing series of diagnosis to identifying the problem before rendering the required solution to It. E get some work when go wan stress you too much you just tell them make them buy another one make you no go stress yourself over wetin go still spoil in no time.
478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: January 22, 2024, 08:56:31 PM
When condemning the super eagles performance, you should also check other stronger countries that has lost or drawn their matches so whatever be the outcome of super eagles match against Guinea-Bassau we should be thankful that the super eagles Came second in their group because the AFCON this year is really surprising as we'll are seeing what we least expected, okay take a look at how Equatorial Guinea won Ivory Coast by 4:0 that's to show you how tough this AFCON is so we should learn to appreciate our country regardless of the fact that they ain't performing too well but at least they made some good impact so far.
its not like anyone isn't happy that they've been able scale through the group stage, the thing is that they are not connecting too well and from all the three matches they played, they've not played in a way that convinces you that they are possible contenders for the trophy.

Look at the goals they scored na, apart from the one osimehm scored, the other two is just through penalty and an home goal this time around. Those are not the kind of goals we want to see from them to be very honest. We want to see a quality play that will give you this assurance that the trophy is coming back home.

I just hope when they finally get into the knockout stage they will bring something new to the table.
479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 22, 2024, 08:48:22 PM
Hello senior citizens and my fellow newbies gambler's, now I gat a straight forward question for you all.
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?
What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?
How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or lose?
Thank you all for your helpful opinions.
do you need any validation from people before deciding how to go about with gambling? I guess you need to define what gambling is to you and your reason for venturing into gambling instead of asking others for it.

For some, gambling is basically for fun and as much as they are still in the sphere of catching the fun then they are okay with it. Don't gamble as if it's a source of livelihood, you can decide that after a long day at work, you will just go to a casino shop and play out the stress not necessarily because you are interested in making a fortune out of it.
