461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please stop asking for "legal tender status" on: February 09, 2024, 12:59:10 PM
Let the people freely ask what they want to ask from the government. And let the government decide what they think is better for the nation and her people.

As far as I know, Salvadorans, the citizens of the beautiful El Salvador where Bitcoin is a legal tender, are not forced to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a legal tender there, meaning the people, businesses, the government itself may accept it. But since there is another legal tender which is the US dollar, everybody has the option to prefer the US dollar. It would certainly be a different case if Bitcoin is the sole legal tender of a country.

Anyway, worry not about governments controlling Bitcoin. It can never happen.

As I said above (and I provided a link where you can read about El Salvador and Bitcoin), they are not "really" implementing legal tender there because they don't enforce it. (And I suspect it's because they simply couldn't in practicality--and I further suspect that El Salvador did this as a publicity stunt, not real policy).

I don't worry about governments controlling Bitcoin--it's legal almost everywhere. But the only thing that could change that is a government forcing everybody to use it, which means they'd need to regulate it.
I think this is where you're getting it wrong and you need to change your impression towards bitcoin and the word legal tender. The government can't force everyone to start using bitcoin if bitcoin becomes a legal tender, you just want a fight when there's nothing to fight about.
Making bitcoin a legal tender is just a means for citizens and bitcoin enthusiasts to freely use bitcoin as a means of payment etc. Secondly if you're actually sounding like this about the government bodies then you're actually saying they're foolish because even if bitcoin becomes a legal tender today you don't expect government to kick out their fiat currency, forcing everyone to use bitcoin simply means the fiat currency is no longer needed. The issue with government controlling bitcoin I can't relate with such and I don't see this happening sooner or later

462  Economy / Services / Re: Hello Im new here and i can help you with privacy matters on: February 09, 2024, 12:28:51 PM
Just one question for op and I hope he/she answer; what do you mean by privacy and in what term will you be of help to everyone here without hurting them, for example seeing a newbie with just 4post rendering such service. This is not surprising cause I see this a lot and to be honest you'll never get what you're looking for here. Anyone falling victim to such fail to understand what the term privacy means.
No words of discouragement, if you're truly with genuine intention no one will listen to such here and you should not forget that this forum enlightens members about scam and unwanted offers.
463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 09, 2024, 12:04:51 PM
According to one of your earlier posts you already invested in bitcoin in the past but then had to sell it so I am not sure why you are talking like you never bought bitcoin before and know nothing about it. An obvious answer is merit fishing but I am curious to hear your answer.  Wink

This is one thing about cooking up stories. Most times, the author forgets about what they said before and is too lazy to study the old thread in order to keep the stories in place. Instead, they come up with a new one every now and then, forgetting there could be members who are concerned and could trace and get their things all out and together.
This is just simple as most people tell lies and forgetting about their previous post, why tell lies when lacking a retentive memory. The op investing in bitcoin has nothing to do with forum members so I don't get why he/she will cook up unwanted stories.
Seeing the reply of other forum members shows the story is not valued. If this story is so honest then I will advice the op to ask questions or rather read before creating such topics
464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Selling a property to play gamble on: February 08, 2024, 10:00:42 PM
No matter how deep you are in gambling never you sell a property because you will surely regret it when it doesn't work the way you expected.
This issue has been the major problem of most gamblers, the urge of wanting more but it all ends with pains and regret. A lot of people have emphasis on this issue here and it seems people still don't want to change, people like this should always learn the hard way cause they've refused to change.
People lost their life due to greed, I read a story online and the gambler lost his life due to gambling, he borrowed money worth million just for gambling and the end result was death.

Have you ever sold a property to play gamble and afterwards finds it difficult to replace that same property again?
I will never get involve with this act and it seems people who sold their property to bet never had value for the property, we all have ups and down when gambling but I don't think I will do such to satisfy my gambling desire.
465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blue card to be introduced in football. on: February 08, 2024, 09:25:50 PM
This new rule sounds strange and funny, from my point of view there's something behind the decision but we've not heard what inspired the decision. When this rule will start to function alot of people will not be used to this rule including me, any player that gets the blue card for 10mins and their opponent will play complete during the ten mins, the blue card is just like the red card but the impact is just for awhile, in my opinion anything can happen during the 10mins without any support, we all know football needs support like team work and if anything happens to the key player it's like the team will lack structure. This new rule should not affect the system that's just all.
466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 07, 2024, 08:57:58 PM
Nigeria used experience to contain a very good south Africa  team. What a game although I played Nigeria on my bet to win but it ended up on penalties. Poor display from Nigeria midfield, Alex iwobi was completely out of the game, but victor osimhen continue to show class. Nigeria have a chance on winning the AFCON because of the quality they have, they should step up their game in the finals.
I am not really impressed with the way Nigeria played today, they were so defensive, only for Osimhen who stepped up and showed class,I would have said the rest were playing under pressure. In the first half of the game,South Africa really played well and controlled the game, and I didn't even expect that,I thought the game was going to end in either 1-0 or 2-0 in favour of Nigeria, but it turned, making them go into extra time where Nigera won.We don't know who they are going to play next, but Nigeria needs to work well and have a team spirit because if they should meet a much better side, they will win them. The only thing I love most about them is that they are very solid defensively.
Both teams didn't even play as I expected and although the first half was just too hard for Nigerians, looking at the match both teams tried and to some extend Osimhen got tired showing the effort he put to play this game.
In terms of assist and good pass I will give credit to South Africa and even with all the good assist they missed so much  opportunity like wise super eagles.
Even with the celebration and excitement the super eagles need to restructure the team in terms of assist for finals.
Surprising how Nwabali saved those goals and I never expected such performance from Nwabali, honestly speaking Nwabali is the reason for the celebration.
467  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tips to Avoid Scams on Cryptocurrency p2p Exchanges on: February 07, 2024, 01:02:35 PM
I agree with your points, surprising how people see such advice and decide to neglect the advice, although no one is perfect but with all this daily guidelines we get from different forum members talking about scam it's enough to enlighten our mindset about scam.
Blaming people who have fallen victim to different kinds of scam is not necessary cause there's always a room to learn and take correction in crypto space so it's advisable people like this should take correction and learn.

  • Avoid unnecessary discussions with traders:
Engaging in unnecessary conversations can lead to scams, as seen in the story shared earlier. Simply conduct your trades and avoid prolonged discussions.
If no be problem person dey find why will anyone go further to discuss something else with a trader or in the history of bitcoin transaction has any trader given someone free money, I don't know why people will get another different motive of stealing people's money for gain, this is very bad and victims should take correction so this practice can reduce.

Sometimes we should also not give room for discussions and sharing of ideas, for example where we share our crypto ideas matters and some people intend to discuss all this in a wrong place, aside from bitcoin forum I have not seen a gathering where I can comfortably talk about bitcoin, although we have different safe place to talk and discuss but we should never share our idea with a wrong person that has another motive towards our idea.

  • Consider using online microfinance banks:
These banks offer faster transactions without the issues associated with traditional banks. Examples include Opay, Kuda Bank, Palmpay, and Moniepoint Microfinance Bank. Using these banks can help avoid situations where scam traders claim your bank has issues to delay transactions.
This is just accurate, a lot of people use opay, palmpay etc but some people have never though of this idea including me, although opay network is one of the fastest network in terms of transaction and with this confidence I believe no one will fool you in terms of slow transaction and network issue.

468  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 07, 2024, 11:57:43 AM
from what you're saying you may agree with me that between the earliest stage bitcoin holders and the recent stage holders, the earliest stage bitcoin holders has the tendency to hold much more longer than they have even previously held compared to the recent bitcoin holders who have just gotten into the market and have little or no experience of certain ups and down in the market from what earliest holders must have experienced.
This is right and sometimes experience can determine the faith of an investor, I can relate with what you're trying to say even if I haven't gotten to such level in terms of holding. We can't compare an experienced investor to some newbies who just started their early journey and each time the price keeps increasing or decreasing there's this urge to sell cause they're new to the market. Aside from bitcoin investment, the example you set out is common and I can agree that a lot of newbies could not reach their target due to the excitement or fear of the price meanwhile investors who started earlier could decide to hold regardless of an increase or decrease in Price.

Imagine a $7k price rise into the current $43k+ price of bitcoin making it $50k, a recent holder will be triggered)tempted to jump into selling to make dollar profit forgetting that the idea was initially to hold for a long long period accumulatively without tampering regardless of  the market price, but to an earliest holder such a price increase is next to nothing or less because he had seen many higher price increases in the past than what he's getting now and to him the holding target continues even after the next ATH. It will take a lot of discipline and determination to hold irrespective of what come may in price for a recent holder to find himself in the lines of holding for long as expected.

We can all agree not all investors have this faith of holding bitcoin for long term or rather some are just here to hold till they get an increase in the price and decide to sell.
In situations like this It doesn't necessary matter cause it seems they buy for just profit and nothing else. Newly investors who really want to buy and hold will not get over excited with an increase in price, I believe every one has a target for their long term holding and if working towards the line rightly you will definitely exhibit the habit of self control, like some newbies will ask how can I develop such characteristics of an experienced investor, this is just simple and all you need to do is learning from experienced investors who love sharing different ideas on their early holding for example JJG, as a newly investor it's advisable to always follow and read threads like this "dip and hold". I don't know why most people find it difficult to hold or maybe they lack finance for investing but in summary it's advisable never use the money met for something else to accumulate bitcoin.
469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: February 06, 2024, 09:20:28 PM
Honestly speaking I never understood the thought behind this statement until I came across this trick gamblers use, when we talk about fun we should set our emotions aside when staking a bet and sometimes people ask different questions concerning their emotions and fear when gambling, the reason why most people develop fear when gambling is because they used excess money to bet thinking they'll get more in return, this is when one can say I gamble for the money not for fun, although no one is expected to be happy when losing their money but if the money is little and you had no hope neither confidence of winning, you'll observe such person will be stress free. Have been in the game before and with all this I can proudly say I use just little amount to bet and I get excited with the game. All you need to do is develop the habit of gambling with the little you have and stop thinking about excess win.
470  Economy / Economics / Re: A course worth studying ? on: February 06, 2024, 04:13:19 PM
So, if you had the opportunity to advise people about courses to choose In University, what would it be and why?
Choosing a course is the most important thing so it's advisable everyone should  think carefully before choosing a course, in the modern world when every course seems competitive and without a professional course no one will value your education status.
Economic is not a bad choice but you should consider your society first before making any move, all course are professional courses but sometimes where you find yourself might kill your passion and your working spirit, for example not all course will be of help to the society so the society no longer seek their service while in some country people choose their course base on their ability to handle the course, this is just the right decision, always go for the course you have full assurance of having high grades not the one you can't handle with the learning process.
If I'm to advice anyone in terms of choosing a course I will prefer the medical department and computer science, looking at the world today it seems the world can't move forward without medical doctors and new invented technologies, in essence technology has taken over the world and it's best to be part of the benefit.
471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 05, 2024, 09:52:25 PM
The scoreline between Brentford and Manchester City at halftime is 1-1, thanks to Foden for equalizing for Manchester City against Brentford. With the way Manchester City has dominated Brentford in the first half, it will be difficult for Brentford to stop Manchester City from scoring another goal in the second half.

City really dominated the first half and that's what we're expecting because they're good at that. The home team Brentford tried to challenge the Citizens in the first to even get the opener, I hope they continue that way in this second half which I know is never going to be easy because Manchester City need a win to keep pressuring Arsenal and Liverpool for the title race. I think the only thing Brentford are going to get in this game is a draw, which is not too healthy for City so they (Manchester City) need to put more pressure to get a win.
Unfortunately city boys are dominating the game and with this point city will definitely battle with Liverpool and Arsenal, the game this season is so complicated but they're higher chances of Manchester city winning the tittle cause after winning this match they'll face Everton and they'll defeat Everton so what's left. Arsenal at the other hand will battle with West Ham and Liverpool vs Burnley. For now I will focus more on the points and with my view I believe the point will favour Manchester city more due to their performance and the fixtures, although this will not be so easy cause the battle is just too tough for this three teams.
472  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Herbalists Live Longer than Christains on: February 05, 2024, 09:06:01 PM
I will not agree with your points and the topic "herbalists live longer than Christians" people life and health doesn't depend on their believe neither their religion, Christians no longer get fooled with certain believe like this and taking good care of your health that's what really matters.
Same herbalist can depend on natural herbs and will still die so religion  doesn't give full guarantee over a person lifespan.
You made mention of science and man made food but food and medicine are meant for good purpose like preservative etc, just imagine a world without science. Christians do live long and sometimes live longer compared to heberlist.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This was my highest risk. on: February 05, 2024, 08:22:58 PM
So have you ever taken such a risk on gambe before?
Taking such risk in gambling requires tolerance and I'm sure I will never engage in such, just imagine you never won any of those games and your friend at the other hand had the money, this is very risky even with little amount I can't afford  Losing such.
Although gamblers are meant to take risk but the risk depends on what you want, if you bet with high amount and the day turns to be your lucky day then you've taken a risk that worth celebrating but if you stake with high amount and still loss you will still bear the pains that's what makes gambling a risky game. I have learnt to avoid taking higher risk ever since I lost to some random game I had high hope. You should be happy you won all games and you should avoid taking higher risk with huge amount.

475  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Crypto P2P market the cause of BDC operation closedown in FCT on: February 05, 2024, 04:41:48 PM
I actually thought 2024 will be a beneficial year for all crypto enthusiasts with the previous news but seeing this now has made some things to change including my thought, I'm trying so hard not to blame the country neither BDC but they should change their thought towards crypto p2p market. Why wanting a fight when there's no valid reason to fight, in the crypto space everyone make use of the online trade and how can an online trading affect the supply of dollars, funny how some Nigerians had refused to grow, they should not forget that the world is growing and they're some certain things they should never kick out like modern technology, the p2p crypto market has made things easier for a lot of Nigerians so this is just an excuse that's not valid.
476  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Accumulate assets of different forms Now on: February 05, 2024, 02:21:06 PM
Asset like bitcoin, for example not all will serve as a good asset but some are meant for history purpose, as you mentioned old bell I just remembered something about the ancient churches and their building construction, those churches are very rare to find now not because the pastors sold the church for money or something else but one thing with ancient buildings they're not well constructed so sometimes buildings like this will definitely collapse and might cause harm, some of those ancient stuffs are meant for history purpose but if those things can gain value now then you can always sell to make profit.
Back to your topic, even till date people accumulate bitcoin to sell early for quick profit, just imagine people like this store their bitcoin for 1_3 years they'll benefit more rather than selling early.
Let's mention assets like estate, land, gold, bitcoin etc, some asset was not having any value back then as you mentioned especially land, let's compare the value of land back then with the resent value you'll observe that land has gained value so quick and with your advice it's best not to sell now cause the value will still add. Look at bitcoin marketcap, people are accumulating some people thought they're playing and by the time bitcoin price reaches an ATH some will be left with regret.
Let's also consider the factors that make people to sell so quick, sometimes they lack finance and it can lead to loss if there's no proper finance to meet up with an investment, to hold such valuable asset nowadays needs money.
477  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 05, 2024, 12:51:09 PM
Buy on dips should not always be the case, why not concentrate in buying when you are ready, must it be on dips, people should know that bitcoin is an asset no matter how dip it goes, it has never stop giving people hope of shifting to positive position, I think everytime is an opportunity in bitcoin that's why continues accumulation is the best irrespective of the price any day any time.
Yeah, obviously, bro, this is true that Bitcoin is always gives you the opportunity to buy because Bitcoin is highly volatile and their price movements are not always the same. I mean, Bitcoin always provides opportunities for investors to participate in it. When Bitcoin rises, it does not mean that the price went up and will not fall again, that is, it will not give you an opportunity to enter again, but Bitcoin gives you good opportunities every time you take an entry. This is our example. It is clear that when Bitcoin was 37k in 2022, no one expected that the price of Bitcoin would go to $16,625.08 on January 1, 2023. When it actually happened, everyone was surprised. So it means to say that Bitcoin always gives you the opportunity to take entry.

You can always participate in bitcoin, but it does not meant that at any particular time that any of us is considering entering bitcoin that there is going to be any advantage in waiting and/or that an "obvious" entry point will present itself.

There is an expression that it likely pretty close to being true, and that is that the best time to enter bitcoin was yesterday, and the second best time to enter bitcoin is today.

In other words, the mere fact that the btc price has historically dipped and/or provided unexpected dip prices does not mean that it is going to happen to the degree that any of us is going to clearly and unambiguously be able to recognize such dip as an entry point.

If anyone believe that the drop in price of btc is temporary and the fundamentals of the asset are still strong you might consider buying at the lower price.Take some time to research about this further and historical price movements. This can help you make a more informed decision about whether to buy, sell, or hold. can be taken advice from investment professionals or experienced traders about btc.
You have misunderstood the person that you quoted.

A newbie, don't need to be making research about the price movement of bitcoin history before he should buy bitcoin or need to wait for the dip before he buys. This is because all those things are waste of time. A newbie should only know the basic knowledge of bitcoin, check his income and make out plan on how much that he can use to invest in bitcoin, that will not affect his other expenses, after he must have kept his emergency funds. The the left over money should be used to start investing in bitcoin weekly or monthly using DCA method, and hodli for a very long period of time. DCA method gives you the opportunity to buy bitcoin regular irrespective of the price of bitcoin,  DCA is also used to buy at the dip if you don't have a reserved funds to buy at the dip. So there is no need to wait for the dip, that no one knows if it will play put or not.

DCA method is easy to cope with, because it gives you the opportunity to buy bitcoin in a comfortable way without pressure, and you will also have time to plan for other things. You must important thing is that you get into bitcoin Asap and continue to grow your bitcoin portfolio bit by bit by being consistent and persistent in accumulating bitcoin.

You don't need to start talking of selling at the beginning of your investment journey, because it shows that you are gambling and will run at loss, with little or no bitcoin in your portfolio, and you are not investing but trading. This is why before you start your bitcoin journey, you must consider investing in a long term, so that you can use that period to noture, grow and build your bitcoin portfolio to your bitcoin target. When you sell in your accumulation stage, you will not be able to achieve your bitcoin goal and you will lose focus on your bitcoin long term investment journey.
It took me few days to understand this method called dip and hold when I started new, I found out something special about the dip and hold method, even if it's considered to be one of the best strategy when buying bitcoin it also have something so special and I believe a lot of investors have benefited from this method, investors like students, workers, low income earners, newbies etc. I'm yet to benefit like other investors but to reap this benefit needs the sacrifice of patience.
For example investors who bought earlier when bitcoin started using this strategy "dip and hold" are very Lucky, this strategy talks about the price and when to buy but surprising anyone can buy using this method at anytime and hold, that's what makes it risky but with the mindset of a long term investment you'll definitely not regret. I believe investors who never made profit using this strategy earlier never wanted a long term investment but rather a short term investment. Let's be realistic no one can actually use this method for short term and no one should actually use this method if they're looking for quick profit cause this strategy doesn't work that way.
478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be watchful it's not yet time on: February 04, 2024, 10:08:46 PM
Yes, don't be fomo about something that is going up or being reported by the media. The halving is coming soon, that doesn't mean we are free to choose coins, we still have to research first to buy what coins are good for the next bullrun because we can't trust what people on the internet say as well as Do your own research so you don't experience losses or scams, be a smart investor.

Absolute correct mate, sometimes these media can seem to be very persuasive and influential to our decision in buying or selling our coin, and also the choice of coin we choose, but we should rely on their predictions and their coin advertising to make accumulation decision, especially when it come to times like this. As an investor your own research should bring about the end of you decision rather than taking news from a random internet user. I love to maintain my coin portfolio just the way it is until the bullrun passes. All I'll be doing is to accumulate more but till the bull run, I'm not adding any other coin.
Well you won't blame them for believing the media as the media is the one controlling this century and they seem to have a strong grip on people thoughts and feelings, every one should be careful when it comes to crypto news and the media as they tend to publish false news sometimes to scare or put the public on high jump and before you know people will all start selling their coins without making proper research and inquiry on the validity of the supposed trend being spread on or by the media.
I strongly believe no one can predict the price of crypto rightly neither can anyone foresee the market, common things people do now is sharing their opinion and that's right cause we're all humans and have different opinion towards something. The investors we should blame are the ones listening to such false opinion that lacks zero accuracy.
Before making any step forward with your investment either buying or selling it's best to always make research and have full confidence before taking any action cause when dealing with crypto any slightest mistake made will cost a lot and I strongly believe no one want to face challenges with their investment so it's best to avoid people's opinion.
479  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ? on: February 04, 2024, 09:31:19 PM

There is no doubt that Bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrencies. If we only focus on altcoins, ETH is the most successful smart contract platform that owns the largest base of fans compared to other altcoins. The current market cap of Ethereum is over $200 Billions and the this will be more likely to increase in the long term. Can ETH be considered as the King of Altcoins ? What do you think ? Please let me know.
The question is quite interesting and obvious at the same time, it's said ETH is the best when it comes to altcoin and over the years the marketcap keeps doing great, just look at the price of ETH now and foresee what the market will look like in the next 1 or 2 years.
No doubt ETH is the best when dealing with altcoins, investors still know the fact but they insist in spreading their investment, if the choice is left for me to choose I will go for bitcoin and ethereum. Due to the popularity of ethereum and trust sometimes we hear a lot of comparison but with all this no one should be deceived bitcoin remains the best among all  crypto.

I'm not a fan of gaming projects but I know few game projects, it's quite interesting seeing few game projects Binance and I have never thought of playing any. If I may ask what's the main purpose of this project, aside from play and earn more what's behind the project. You should make few research cause the link you dropped above are not valid neither are those links enough reasons to invest. If you're looking for an answer here I think the answer will be no cause I believe most people have not tried the newly project, you can decide to play but it depends how sure are your thought towards the project.
