461  Economy / Economics / Re: Capital preservation and investing during and after the COVID19 crisis on: May 01, 2020, 08:45:43 PM
Well, the money should have always gone down but the world we are living in makes the rich live with the other richer and poor live with the other poor so it becomes very difficult for the money that rich has to go to poor.

Yeah, the general increasing of economy is very important but at the same even if the general population is doing better compared to past (they are not) that wouldn't really change the shifts from the poor to rich, since the money of the rich rarely ever goes to the poor. That is why people with money increases their money, they become richer and richer, maybe some rich people get poor eventually for doing some wrong stuff, but rarely ever a poor becomes richer.

Don't get me wrong there are examples of regular folks becoming super rich, even though he and his family wasn't poor at all and they were well-off, Mark Zuckerberg became a billionaire before 30, so its still possible but we are talking about 1 in 7 billion, so not a big chance.
462  Economy / Economics / Re: returning to normal on: May 01, 2020, 10:57:12 AM
Personally, I don't feel safe right now and in any moment I can get infected.

That's it right there. That's the prevailing sentiment.

I'm beginning to think these American protestors demanding that governors reopen the economy are missing the point. Even when the orders are lifted, the economy probably won't really "reopen." People will still be terrified of the pandemic. They aren't going to flood into malls and movie theaters and salons and bars. Most will continue staying home and avoiding anything non-essential.

I saw an interesting headline about working from home today: https://twitter.com/CNBC/status/1253883932656926724
Movie theaters were dying long before corona came in, they have huge rents, I mean they are usually huge in place they cover as well, just one of them takes so much space, 50+ seats and so forth, and usually each place has 5 of them at least, some even more, that means we are talking about a cinema saloon taking up 300+ seat place in general plus the place where you buy the tickets and popcorn and all, so they do not pay rent like a regular clothes shop or something, they paid a lot. Plus they are giving half of all ticket sales to movie makers, which makes sense as well.

Compare that to netflix, zero rent and they just buy things off right away and there could be a million viewers or just one, doesn't change anything because it is basically all paid for, and they get hundred million people paying for it all around the world as well. Hence at the end of the day those places will be novelty one day, netflix will take over many of them.
463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coin to watch out for this year 2020. on: May 01, 2020, 07:54:25 AM
You can sometimes differentiate the coin from the person as well, there is no need to think that Tron will be horrible because Justin Sun is terrible. Don't get me wrong I think tron is bad as well, this was just an example of trying to explain as long as the system for decentralization is built and there is no person who owns more than 5% of all the coins collectively, that means its decentralized and if nobody has power over the coin why should we care about the project lead?

Of course many new coins are not like that and I think that is one of the reasons why alt world got so dim, and definitely Tron/Justin thing is one example so that is bad, but as long as it can be separated and decentralized I think project leads should not matter to the currency at all.
464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your opinion on 'themed' cryptocurrencies, e.g. Dentacoin? on: May 01, 2020, 07:07:25 AM
I like the idea but I hate the executions on almost all of them. Let's be honest these coins try to go out and become "the bitcoin of x sector" and all of them fail, none of them actually goes up in price nor gets adopted. Which is why I really do not like them all that much individually at all.

Not saying the idea is bad, the ideas they have usually are awesome and when you read the whitepaper and when you see what they are trying to do, you fall in love with it, not just dentacoin but almost all themed ones, which is why they are very dangerous because they make you fall in love with the idea. Only after you buy and hold and it becomes a bag that you realize idea could be a billion dollar one but the execution is a 10 dollar version so it will never worth anything.
465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum be taking 1st place in 2020? on: May 01, 2020, 06:37:04 AM
In percentage terms, ethereum is now really growing even better than bitcoin. Apparently, the expected appearance of improvements to Ethereum 2.0 in this coin is affecting soon. Or maybe some other factors. In any case, everything is going well so far.

Obviously, if we compare them from their respective ATH to the current price now, you'll see that bitcoin has a better recovery rate.
ETH is can't cross $200 yet, but its ATH was $1400, so that was only 14% from its ATH.. while bitcoin is at 40% or more already.. so you can see the big difference.
That is exactly why even if there is a better recovery rate for the past month or so in ethereum, that doesn't mean anything. The first spot is bitcoins and it will always be bitcoins unless something major happens, the price of bitcoin could only drop immensely while others are not dropping only if there is some technological problem.

Bitcoin is known to be rock solid in blockchain and in technology but lets say someone finally figures out a way to just steal anyone's bitcoin whenever they want to, that would cause bitcoin to drop in price a lot because nobody would want it, everybody would be afraid theirs will be stolen as well. Unless something that catastrophic happens, there is no way we gonna get bitcoin in anywhere under first spot, it will always stay there.
466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance: $BNB The Future of Exchanges. on: April 30, 2020, 08:26:55 PM
I still can't believe binance can cover so much of the market, they are literally doing trading volume that nobody could even imagine right now, some others tries to "look" like they are doing better but there is no way anyone else is doing even remotely close as much as binance does.

Consider this for a second, if there are so many trades every single day, that means there must be a lot of BNB that is basically given to binance for trading fee as well, and that means those will be out of the market most probably. They will surely burn all of them or at least most of them, which is why every single day means there is less and less BNB left in the market and the value should be going up a lot as well, that is why I really love BNB, there is a utilization.
467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Bitcoin on: April 30, 2020, 05:18:31 PM
For any newbie that doesn't know why they should be making use of Bitcoin - the first thing is that Bitcoin gives you freedom and privacy. With Bitcoin the government will not be able to trace every bit of your life lol.

You will have peace of mind when making use of Bitcoin. Another thing you should know is that Bitcoin (BTC) cannot be duplicated like cash. BTC is digital and decentralized, it's peer-to-peer and open, secure and nearly friction-less, and you can use it to easily shop online and do a lot more than that. It's a great tool for investment and there is no conversion needed when you are using it.
468  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC and Stock vs Oil price on: April 30, 2020, 04:34:42 PM
The stock market is impacted heavily due to the drop in oil prices. Do you all think it will impact the BTC prices as well?
Have you been watching the Bitcoin price? It was impacted earlier but the market has been recovering and going from one level to another. After the price fell to below $4,000, it quickly got back up to $5,000. The next thing it started circulating around the price of $5,000 and $6,000. Last week the price was stable at the price of $7,000 and today it moved to $8,900. So it’s growing and you don’t need to be told, it’s clear.

I bet people who quickly sold their coins out of fear would be regretting they ever sold, because the price is now going back up. And those that saw $3,000 and $4,000 as a good opportunity to buy will be happy with themselves that they bought Bitcoin.

I don’t know what kind of impact the halving will be having on Bitcoin. We are just a day into the month of May. Binance is showing a twelve days countdown to the Halving.
469  Economy / Economics / Re: You will be able, slowly, to pay one bitcoin for 25000 pizza. Any other opinion? on: April 30, 2020, 03:26:39 PM
I hope so. The price has been going up and is almost at $9,000! Earlier this year when the pandemic started and the price dropped, some haters started throwing some of their hate comments around and saying that cryptocurrency is a scam lol. I know that they will all feel disappointed this time around, but these dumb people never learn a lesson.

A time will come when we will be able to make a purchase of 25,000 pizzas with Bitcoin, it’s going to happen, though it might take some time. I am the one of hard core believer who speculate about bitcoin to reach even 100 million dollars in next 2 or 3 decades of time. So, I am not seeing any difficulty for bitcoins to reach a level to buy 25k pizzas for one bitcoins.
470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I sell bitcoin now? on: April 28, 2020, 07:01:49 PM
That's where I am confused why people are thinking that way. Bitcoin was low, and it got high, and it is stable now, WHY do you think it will go up even more? I am not saying it won't but there are so many people who miss out when the price bottoms and then comes back and buys when the price goes up, inevitably that price drops again because it was spiked and it is normal for a price that went up so much to fall a bit, and they end up losing money and start calling bitcoin dead again instead of buying more when it drops.

I am sorry but if you are thinking about buying bitcoin right now, you have to realize there is a big chance it could drop in price, not saying it will but there is a big chance, you should buy it when the price bottoms up, not when it increases like crazy.
471  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin creating panic again? on: April 28, 2020, 04:31:58 PM
I am not really going to say anything against OP, they can be right about their calculations and analysis normally but there could be something that happens between then and now that changes everything. However this should basically be a proof that TA is never the solution, you can do TA as much as you want and in the end if you are not really doing it carefully enough something totally unexpected could happen that causes you to lose money.

There is no sure fire thing about bitcoin price prediction, nobody can predict it correctly all the time, you can be right sometimes and you can be wrong sometimes and you just live with that. So, just because OP gave an info, we all saw that doesn't mean it will happen, but it also doesn't mean he will be wrong each time.
472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: April 27, 2020, 07:08:18 PM
Jordan and Kobe both gave success to their team, but will that kind of mentality now still works?
The warriors was the latest good example, there's no I in that team and they beat a team with an I which is team Lebron.
That killer instinct that has always been talked about when considering MJ and Kobe is something very special, it really doesn't have a big list, those two are probably the only ones. Moreover, Wilt Chamberlein is probably the first player I can think of who had raw talent, very good, managed many things, but always lost to Russell, why? Because Wilt was basically out there to do whatever he can, not whatever team can achieve.

The biggest example I can think of is Shaq, that dude probably had the greatest talent I have ever seen with my own eyes, probably a talent we will NEVER see again, he was just that good, yet dude was as lazy as it gets and as spoiled as it gets as well. Lebron is awesome right?

Well, he likes to whine about his teammates all the time as well and did so many PR moves instead of trying to just be winner about it, even though he managed to will his team into finals, he was simply a baby about it most of the times. Yet even with all of that said, an MJ or a Kobe is not enough for a championship, they had many years they didn't win a single thing, you always need some decent players around them to win.
473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 27, 2020, 06:34:12 PM
Well, daily new cases are finally under 3k, it was under 3k couple more times but it went up again, the trick is to keep it under 3k, hopefully we will also see under 1k in a week or so as well, not saying it will happen, just wishing and hoping for it because there has been thousands of people getting sick everyday for a way long time now, we need to drop into hundreds instead so that we can drop to tens one day and eventually not worry. That reflects on the period when Serie A can comeback, for example if the numbers start going back up again and go over 3k and not drop for a little bit more, that postpones the league at least a week if you ask me, however if it drops under 2k tomorrow and under 1k in 10 days, that means early June could see the league start, it all depends how quickly we can stop the pandemic spread.
474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Ethereum reach the 1400$ mark this year? on: April 27, 2020, 07:55:52 AM
I just read somewhere else that Bitmex will be launching futures for ethereum, that means people will be capable of profiting when ethereum price goes down.

This really hurts the chances of ethereum going up, right now there are no people profiting from ethereum going down, with bitmex offering those futures there will be tons of people who will sell ethereum to make it go down and profit from their short futures, that happened with bitcoin and it will happen with ethereum as well and ethereum is smaller so it will be easier to manipulate it however they want, just tens of millions of dollars is enough to destroy the whole ethereum market and there are many companies who can afford to test it and see if it works, which it will work so they will do it more constantly.
475  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TOP 20 BEST CRYPTOCURRENCIES TO BUY IN 2020 on: April 27, 2020, 07:05:07 AM
Honestly there is no way we could ever know the top any altcoin that will be good to buy, they change by the day and it depends on when you buy and when you sell.

Is this first of January to first of January? Is this the bottom to peak difference? Is this more long term retirement fund buying? What are we really looking for here? I say there is no best one ever, there are good ones and there are better ones but there is a whole lot horrible ones as well, so there is really no way to know the difference between the good and the better.

Just buy the ones you like, hope that they do alright, and do not sell until it starts to go down or if it doesn't just keep it as long as you do not need money, that way you can watch it grow and grow until old age.
476  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where could i learn about trading? on: April 26, 2020, 06:23:40 PM
Following other more veteran traders became easier and easier over time, there are now places called "social trading" that basically allows you to mimic their trading, however one more important step is missing, finding out why those veteran traders are doing those trades. You can mimic all their moves but if you never learn why they have done something when they do it, you will never be able to do it yourself, you will have to keep watching them constantly forever.

So, right now it is getting easier and easier to do something, but it is also not done just yet, I am sure over time in years we are going to get the full version and that way when newbies come in they will capable of watching these people and learning their tricks and go on their own way eventually.
477  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What can we do to minimise the risk in trading on: April 26, 2020, 05:48:07 PM
Dollar cost average is always a thing that is talked about and I feel like it may actually work if you look at the past 5 years. Let's say you want to invest 1200 dollars a year on bitcoin, if you buy it all at once you may buy at the bottom and profit a lot but also you may end up buying at peak and lose a lot as well.

Hence the idea of DCA, that allows you to buy 100 dollars per month instead of 1200 dollars all at once, and this way you are buying on yearly average instead and that means you are not buying at the bottom and profiting the maximum but you are also not going to buy from peak neither, even if you do there is 11 more times you will buy that year so the average will go down. I have not done that myself too much but this strategy sounds like it does minimize the risk.
478  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 26, 2020, 05:04:14 PM
Just when we thought that China had banished corona from it’s land suddenly new cases began to pop up at record pace, and now the health experts believe that it could be a second potential wave of Coronavirus in China. At this stage China will once again be forced to go into lockdown, and do you’ll think that it’s economy will be able to recover quickly from this second lockdown too?.

Source:

https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/china-coronavirus-cases-hit-highest-21857013
If they were able to handle the first case, don’t you think they will also be able to handle the second case?
They might follow the same strategy they used in handling the first case. Though there are things I’m quite confused about.

First of all, when this coronavirus outbreak started in China they rejected help from other countries, and when it finally got to other countries, China started offering to help them lol. Doesn’t that seem to be kind of suspicious? And I heard news that the coronavirus got worst in Italy after China offered to help them. Not sure about this though but if it’s true, then it’s enough to suspect them for this virus that’s wrecking the world recently.
479  Other / Politics & Society / Re: COVID-19 teaches all of us. on: April 26, 2020, 04:21:42 PM
This should really serve as a lesson to the world, we really need to be careful after all this comes to an end. We all should know the things that we are meant to avoid and stay clear from it. And apart from that, we should as well learn to keep our environment clean to avoid more problems like these coming out in the future. And industries should as well look for ways to avoid polluting the air for us. Lots of things really needs to be done.

I saw a picture of Venice earlier when the pandemic started and how the water was clean because people are now staying indoors , and someone commented that nature is taking into its own hands to keep the environment clean again.
480  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: April 26, 2020, 08:20:54 AM
At first I assumed it was similar to multi master; one entry per user, but on sportsguru I saw few users entering multiple rooms, went back to check the rules on the promo page, nothing was mentioned regarding one entry only, so to make sure I contacted live chat, I was told that all entries made by a user count towards the promotion.
Anyway I highly doubt any of my 10 entries will be a winner as I made at least 3 wrong picks so far out of 6 on all of them.

I really like this new concept, has many similarities to fantasy sports, could be the next big thing in sports gambling.

Aside from the promotion, multiple entries in a similar event is much more fun then just one entry, for me at least.
Honestly this is just the first time ever they are doing something like this and maybe we should just not go over them too much, I get that you want to do something more with your time and right now it is getting more and more boring as it looks like the games are still postponed, yet just because you found something to do, doesn't mean you are entitled to do it over and over again to kill your boredom.

Let them do it however they want, one entry, multiple entry, big prize, small prize, right now whatever they do it is a positive because they are working towards helping you get over your boredom and have a bit of fun when the sportsbooks have zero things that they can offer as gambling right now, well except esports, that looks like the only thing left for people to gamble but not everyone knows it well enough.
